"Say to Those Plastering..." It has now been almost a century since Charles Taze Russell stood before his fellow Bethelites and declared the Gentile times to have ended. Ever since then the Watchtower Society has interpreted nearly all prophecy as having some sort of fulfillment in the 1914-1919 period, with a few exceptions. As the situation stands presently, millions of trusting Jehovah’s Witnesses have been led [...]
“And I will give portents in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun itself will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and fear-inspiring day of Jehovah.” A new dark age is coming---characterized by a breakdown of civilization in its entirety. For a certainty, the now-on-rushing day of Jehovah will [...]
THE PERFECT STORM A “perfect storm” scenario of apocalyptic proportions is brewing – soon to spawn the greatest catastrophe in human history. That most people are oblivious to the looming calamity or that some may ridicule the prophecies that foretell it, or even the mere suggestion that all is not as it seems, is by no means a contra-indication of its nearness, but is in itself [...]
Program considers a variety of questions, such as “replacement theology.” Why doesn’t e-Watchman provide any guidance for Jehovah's Witnesses? Will the demons materialize after they are thrown down? And more! Download podcast#39 (Right click SAVE LINK AS)
This is an abbreviated program with a three Psalm musical conclusion. The remastered Psalms are #1, #8 and #67, in that order. At Matthew 24:6 is recorded Jesus’ words of warning to his disciples: “You are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that you are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.”
Next Christ foretold: “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.”
Are we to believe that the “beginning pangs of distress” span generations, only to give way to a prolonged period of relative peace, and that the generation who heard the original reports of wars passes away long before all things are fulfilled? As strange as it may seem that is exactly what Jehovah’s Witnesses now believe.
But since wars and reports of wars precede the big war in which nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Christ’s prophecy regarding nation warring against nation was fulfilled in 1914-18, Jesus’ words regarding the “wars and reports of wars” that precede all-out war have no relevance whatsoever for Jehovah’s Witnesses today. For that matter, neither does the aspect of nation rising against nation. It is all dead history of fulfilled prophecy to Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The apostle exhorted Christians to “make sure of all things.” The Watchtower Society even published a minister’s handbook by that title that is intended to aid Jehovah’s Witnesses to help others see the falsity of many of Christendom’s teachings. However, ought not Jehovah’s Witnesses also make sure of what the Watchtower teaches, particularly with regards to prophecy and the return of Christ? Most of the questions [...]

The 15th and 16th chapters of Isaiah are devoted exclusively to the denunciation of Moab. Moab, along with Ammon, were the nations that descended from Abraham’s nephew, Lot – the sons born by his daughters after their mother had been turned into a pillar of salt for disobeying the angel of Jehovah.
As the Watchtower’s commentary on Isaiah points out, although closely related to the children of Abraham, having a similar language and customs, the Moabites and Hebrews were long-time enemies. The Jews, of course, were bound by the law covenant to exclusively worship Jehovah. The Moabites were not under any such covenant. Nevertheless, that did not mean they were not accountable to Jehovah.
As explained in numerous articles on this site, both the Assyrian and Babylonian military campaigns picture various aspects of the world conquest of the 8th king.
