The onrushing desolation of the Garden of Eden

//The onrushing desolation of the Garden of Eden

Commentary on the Daily Text of Jehovah’s Witnesses

Friday, June 16

The king finds pleasure in a servant who acts with insight.Prov. 14:35.

It is an honor to be allowed by Jehovah to contribute to the beauty of our spiritual paradise. We do that by zealously preaching the Kingdom good news and making more disciples. Each time we help a person progress to Christian dedication, we have worked to extend the borders of the spiritual paradise. (Isa. 26:15; 54:2) We can also enhance the beauty of our spiritual paradise by steadily improving our own Christian personality. In that way, we make this paradise more appealing to onlookers. More than even Bible knowledge, it is often our chaste, peaceful conduct that initially draws people to the organization and in turn to God and to Christ. How pleased Jehovah and Jesus must be when they observe our beautiful spiritual paradise today! The enjoyment we have now in working to enhance its beauty is but a foretaste of the joy we will have later in working to make the earth a physical paradise.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are laboring under a deluding influence. That in itself does not necessarily disqualify them from doing God’s work, after all, the apostles were similarly deluded as regards Christ’s destiny and the very nature of the Kingdom. They were not disabused of their folly until after Jesus was resurrected and appeared to them, rebuking them on numerous occasions. (Who Is Blind?) Even at that, the closing words of the gospel of Matthew reveals that up to the moment of his ascension to heaven, even then, some doubted.

It is not particularly surprising then, that even the most knowledgable among Jehovah’s Witnesses are operating under an enormous burden of misconceptions. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done to counteract that deluding influence at this present time since it emanates from the very source that is deemed to be the faithful and discreet mouthpiece of God.

Regardless, one aspect of error is the delusion that Jehovah’s Witnesses are in what is termed a “spiritual paradise” and that individual Christians can work to enhance it by more preaching and character development, or whatever.

While the Scriptures do indeed convey the concept of a spiritual paradise, it is not something that humans can enhance or mar. That is because it is a creation of God, just as Eden was originally. And like Eden before the Devil did his deed, the condition set forth in prophecy is described as the complete absence of wicked and harmful persons. (More on the meaning of spiritual paradise in these articles, here and here.)

As regards the paradise God will bring about after he repurchases his people from their devastated condition, the 35th chapter of Isaiah describes it as utterly devoid of all foolish and unclean persons. Not so much as one will be found there: “At that time the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped. At that time the lame will leap like the deer, and the tongue of the speechless will shout for joy. For waters will burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert plain. The heat-parched ground will become a reedy pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water. In the lairs where jackals rested, there will be green grass and reeds and papyrus. And a highway will be there, yes, a way called the Way of Holiness. The unclean one will not travel on it. It is reserved for the one walking on the way; no one foolish will stray onto it. No lion will be there, and no vicious wild beasts will come on it. They will not be found there; only the repurchased ones will walk there.”

The question is, does the blessed condition portrayed in Isaiah describe the Watchtower organization today? Hardly! Besides the fact that tens of thousands of JW’s are disfellowshipped every year for various sins, some quite vile in nature, which is besides the point anyway, what about the harm done to others by their sins? What about the tens of thousands of children that have been sexually abused, in no small part because of the hush-hush policy imposed on “spiritual paradise” by Bethel’s lawyers? Can it honestly be said that no vicious, cunning beasts roam about among the lambs? Be careful! Only a liar would insist so.

The apostle John wrote in his first letter: “If we make the statement, ‘We have no sin,’ we are misleading ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous so as to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we make the statement, ‘We have not sinned,’ we are making him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

What applies to individuals can certainly apply to groups of individuals, otherwise known as organizations. And without question that which calls itself “Jehovah’s organization” has in no uncertain terms declared itself to be sin-free. Never in the history of the Watchtower has the leadership ever admitted to having misled or deceived Jehovah’s Witnesses in any way or been responsible in even the slightest measure for any of the many evils or multitudinous stumbling blocks that are strewn in the path.

In proof of that you will never hear a member of the Bethel family in public prayer ask Jehovah’s forgiveness for the sins of the Governing Body or the shortcomings of the organization. But the very fact that the Governing Body repeatedly lays claim to presiding over a predator-free spiritual paradise makes them out to be liars before God.

Ironically, as a consequence of the self-exaltation, blindness and deception that prevails, Jehovah has decreed that he will bring devastation upon the Watchtower’s faux spiritual paradise. Through the prophet Joel Jehovah will speak to the leadership of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the immediate future, at a moment in time when the symbolic locusts are unleashed upon the world during the day of Jehovah.

Listen, Jehovah speaks: “Wake up, you drunkards, and weep! Wail, all you wine drinkers, because the sweet wine has been taken from your mouths. For a nation has come up into my land, mighty and without number. Its teeth are the teeth of a lion, and its jaws are those of a lion. It has devastated my vine and turned my fig tree into a stump, stripping them completely bare and tossing them aside, leaving their twigs white. Wail as a virgin wearing sackcloth does for the bridegroom of her youth. Grain offering and drink offering have ceased from the house of Jehovah; the priests, the ministers of Jehovah, are in mourning. The field has been devastated, the ground mourns; for the grain has been devastated, the new wine has dried up, the oil has failed. Farmers are dismayed, vinedressers wail, because of the wheat and the barley; for the harvest of the field has perished. The vine has dried up, the fig tree has withered. The pomegranate, the palm, and the apple, all the trees of the field have dried up; for joy has turned to shame among the people. Put on sackcloth and mourn, you priests; wail, you ministers of the altar.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are certainly familiar with the concept that the world is a field under cultivation. Why, each month active publishers are required to submit a “field service report” to note their activity as figurative farmers and vinedressers in the field. That being so, more to the point regarding the devastation wrought by the onrushing metaphoric insect army, Joel 2:3 paints a vivid before and after comparison: “Ahead of it a fire devours, and behind it a flame consumes. The land ahead of it is like the garden of Eden, but behind it is a desolate wilderness, and nothing can escape.”

In short, the prophet of Joel envisages the entire worldwide work of Jehovah’s Witnesses coming to a sudden and emphatic stop. Not only that, but the constant, uninterrupted supply of spiritual food that has been supplied by Bethel since its founding will suddenly be cut off. That which is touted as true worship and theocratic arrangement, will cease, in accord with what is written: “Come in and spend the night in sackcloth, you ministers of my God; for grain offering and drink offering have been withheld from the house of your God.”

How will this horrific tragedy come about? It will come about as a result of the sudden overthrow of the present civilization —the complete and utter collapse of the capitalistic, democratic system, under which we all live and depend upon.

As it stands presently, the Anglo-American empire and what is called the Trans-Atlantic system, is facing an existential crises as a result of the utter bankruptcy of the entire edifice. Even persons who know nothing about Bible prophecy recognize that a crises unparalleled in human history looms large.

Since the 2008 financial crises the central banks of the world have flooded the financial system with trillions and trillions of dollars, some say $29 trillion in 2008 alone, the bulk of which since then has gone to the to-big-to-fail banks and been used to bid up stocks and bonds. The banks and associated hedge funds are now the largest holders of stocks and bonds. They own Wall Street. That gives the central banks primary ownership of the corporate world, and everything else. A sudden withdrawal of the liquidity that has flooded the system in the past decade would result in a sudden and unstoppable chain reaction collapse of the monetary and financial system.  We may expect the secret coven of ultra-wealthy bankers to do that very thing, then swoop in like locusts to devour the assets of entire nations, imposing their ownership over the world of debtors by setting up a new gold-based economic system. The armies of the debtor nations will then be co-opted as enforcers of the new world order.

Thus, Jehovah powerful army of plunderers is unleashed upon the world —devouring everything, including the hallowed assets of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. Who can withstand Jehovah’s judgment? “Jehovah will raise his voice before his army, for his camp is very numerous. For the one carrying out His word is mighty; for the day of Jehovah is great and very awe-inspiring. Who can endure it?”

Only Jehovah will be able to redeem the chastened then. And isn’t that how it should be? Indeed. It is in the aftermath of the now-oncoming global devastation that the real paradise will come into existence –something completely separate and distinct from the Watchtower organization of the present moment.

“Do not be afraid, O land. Be joyful and rejoice, for Jehovah will do great things. Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field, For the pastures of the wilderness will become green, and the trees will bear fruit; the fig tree and the vine must give their full yield. You sons of Zion, be joyful and rejoice in Jehovah your God; for he will give you the autumn rain in the right amount, and he will send upon you a downpour, the autumn rain and the spring rain, as before. The threshing floors will be full of pure grain, and the presses will overflow with new wine and oil. And I will make compensation to you for the years that the swarming locust, the unwinged locust, the voracious locust, and the devouring locust have eaten, my great army that I sent among you. You will surely eat to satisfaction, and you will praise the name of Jehovah your God, who has done wonders in your behalf; my people will never again be put to shame. And you will have to know that I am in the midst of Israel and that I am Jehovah your God there is no other! My people will never again be put to shame.”

While WT continues to churn out their GMO laden buffets from their self appointed Michelin star Bethel kitchens, brother Robert drives his food truck with morsels that inspire me to go outside to my own garden….the Holy Scriptures.

Hi friends! Haven’t commented here in a while, but I read everything. I appreciate ya’lls comments and questions so much.

I was just discussing this “we’re in spiritual Paradise!” mantra that’s regularly chanted in my congregation and how it’s actually very damaging. When a person or a group is forced to exclaim how happy they are, it suffocates room to be authentic. If one dares to express depression or doubting, they are quickly diagnosed as spiritually weak and lacking the fruitage of the spirit.

Deluding influences, false parousia, and fake spiritual Paradise….may we all keep hanging on so we can experience the REAL thing!

  • The Raven

I find something new in every essay you write Robert. Thank you.

  • Burt Reynolds

I often find it so hard to figure out what the bible actually means. I have thought on many occasions why Christ did not make his kingdom understandable to the apostles. Clearly up to the last minute they did not expect him to be killed, but to reign, to establish his kingdom, and after all that happened, we find Christ still needing to remonstrate with them over their ignorance. But then, if it was written in plain Aramaic, (English!), then how would the test of faith, the lie, the truth, ever be exposed? I suppose in the end analysis, it is yet another proof of the bible’s authenticity in that it creates a division clearly between those who love righteousness and those who seek to usurp it, and also, exposes those who think they do things in secret. Isn’t it wonderfully strange how the bible is obscure, yet plain, prophetic, yet hidden, just, in mercy and in punishment, forgiving, yet seething with retribution and timeless, yet always timely. So much so that were it not for annointed raised up to explain it, then who would come to know the truth? Certainly not from the watchtower would it be found, yet it is! But the lie along with it and that covers over the full meaning. There is a strange comfort in Robert’s article that shows the edge of Jehovah’s awe inspiring wisdom and which in itself appears only as yet another contradiction; humbling, but yet empowering beyond what is normal.

      Beautifully written, Burt.

I also have read that to the worldly man spiritual things make no sense .We look discuss and perceive what is written through spiritual eyes We all need each others help to do this .A lot of help and encouragement has come from you Bert ,and we cannot yet get the full picture as all will be revealed to us at its due time . I believe that we are in a privileged position to have a little bit of forknowledge ,and thanks to Robert we gather and share .

      • Burt Reynolds

Yes that’s so right. We all depend on each other. It’s the way it should be. I don’t think any of us can do this alone.

        • Arvid Fløysand

So true…reminds me of the apostle paul,s illustration “The eye cannot say to the hand,”i do not need you”,ore again the head cannot say to the feet,”i do not need you”.On the contrary, the members of the body, that seem to be weaker are necessary, and the parts of the body that we think to be less honorable we sorround with greater honor,so our unseemly parts are treated with greater modesty, whereas our attractive parts do not need anything.
Nevertheless,God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that had a lack,so that there should be no division in the body, but its members should have mutual consern for one another.

If one member suffers, all the other members suffer with it,ore if a member is glorified, all the other members rejoice with it.” (1 Cor. 12:21-26)..

.this is why i feel that i belong together with all of you,and love you all very much..

          • Song of Hannah

Excellent reasoning you guys have set out here! And so true! I think of Daniel, when the angel told him “many will rove about and the true knowledge will become abundant.”(Dan 12:4)

Indeed, it is only by collectively working together (which requires love and the other fruitages of the spirit) will we be unlock the truth – by means of that spirit.

            • Arvid Fløysand

Yes you got it right dear sister 🙂
and if we continue to willingly let Jehovah and Christ Jesus “glue” us togeter in and by the fruitages of the spirit..(most of all love)…then i belive the end result will be marvelous and collectively make not one but all of us together like a big key that Christ Jesus will use to open the final”door”….i feel we are on the right track…we must act in the proper manner like Jesus stressed as the most important before he was arrested…”wash eatcothers feet”..
This is the time to prove satan wrong ..
The accuser would love to see us fall …he will not as long as we stick together and take care of every one in agape-love…
We who love the light and seek all over to find it are to likened with lightbulbs…the agape-love is the electric wire and we plug ourself on it..but it wont give full light until all the light bulbs are connected…in the meantime we must help eatcother to connect properly…
No one can make this on their own…only by pulling together…lets go for it 🙂

  • JTK

i think the point Robert makes about sin, quoting what the apostle John states about sinning and confession of sins, highlights the obvious lack of humilty, self concious examination and recognition of their true spiritual state and importantly their accountability to Christ for their actions by the GB
the warning to the congregation in Sardis and Ladodicea seems appropriate rev 3

Every article that I have read on this site only gives me that much more faith. I just can not phantom why only very few of us (those that comment) and those that just read, are very, very few?

I have tried to share this site with so many only to be told that it is wrong. I can see with eyes of faith that this site makes too much sense and that it opens our eyes mind to the nature of Jehovah’s prophesies!

Is there a reason why only so very few can see the spiritual light on this site.

    Another wonderful and insightful article!

Just had to get it off my mind…..

    • i would think that its Jehovah himself that draws people with the right heart condition

      • Basavaraj Of North Karnataka

        Yeah that point is right!!!

    • Arvid Fløysand

Yes…there is a reason why only so few can see the spiritual light …Luk.17:11-19…(only one of ten..and on top of that, he was a samaritan)…we are that “samaritan” 🙂

    • Basavaraj Of North Karnataka

You said that I just can not phantom why only very few of us (those that comment) and those that just read, are very, very few?
Th Answer is : It is because of 2nd Thessalonians:2:9-12

Narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are finding it.

      • Burt Reynolds

Welcome back Kevin! I hope all your moving problems are behind you now. I must say its been a struggle without your regular reasoning and ‘read more, read a LOT more’ references!

        • Bklyn Kevin

Hello Burt hope all is going well with you, have been reading your comments and as always I find them very enjoyable thank you.

I wish all my moving problems were behind me but the truth is there not.
I’m between here and there at this point due to unforeseen circumstances but hopefully soon I will arrive at my destination and settle in.

          • Burt Reynolds

I’m sure that Jehovah knows what it’s like Kevin. There are scriptures I know that relate both Jehovah and Jesus were ‘moved’ to act. You’ll get there I’m sure. I moved to my present home a year ago and we have decorated just two rooms do far, besides a workshop extension. It’s a long drawn out business. You’ll get there! ?

Just had to get it off my mind…..

    • Cathii D’Anthonii

Someone close to me pointed E-watchman out in like 2008, it took a minute to read the Bible and verify everthing. It is certainly wonderful to read the Bible and finally really understand, thanks to Jehovah for providing this..We truly are not forgotten by Jehovah…we are thankful for Br. King also for his great efforts

    • Burt Reynolds

I suppose Bobby that the question as to why so few, is overshadowed by ‘is it truth?’ If it is, and there is no reason to believe it’s not, then why so few is is not a question we need bother with. There are it seems though, many thousands that visit this site. Out of one person, Jesus, Jehovah ransomed the entire world. Out of one man, developed the organisation that preached the word of Jehovah in its needful form for over a hundred years now and reached the entire world. So it’s not really how many now, that matters. The necessary tools for survival are world wide. Yet, if you look at the potential of this site, things seem to fall into place a little more, but this is only my opinion. This site is one resource of only a few that I know of, but to me, it appears the most used and probably the most comprehensive and by dint of methodology in delivery, the most accurate.

When the storm breaks, millions of people will suddenly be free to look for truth. They will have to if they are to survive. What better than a tried and established harbour to garner as many ships fleeing the storm that contains not only the water of life, but the foundations of rock that keep it stable in the storm. Ergo, the bible….the true, open, explained bible. The word of Jehovah. I refer to this site being a source of deeper truths and reasoning, not a replacement for the watchtower.

Another aspect at looking at your question, again, only my opinion, is that Jehovah wishes none to die, but all attain to repentance. That being the case, for those searching now….and there are but few….and have their ears if not their eyes open fully, why should Jehovah not provide a sheep fold for those to go to? He is therefore only being true to his word as he has promised. It is a provided place, not a safe haven. One can still sink in a harbour. Jehovah is not partial. We still have to face the test. Being aware of the part truth, or the whole truth, is not the question, it is passing the test of faith and all that such entails, love, charity, honesty, righteousness…et al. No one can say that the theme of this site is anything other than the upholding of Jehovah’s name. That being the case, then the provision is here, for those that see the lie, as Jehovah has promised. It is not numbers therefore, but the provision so that none may be lost to the lie, that see the lie, and still loving Jehovah, have no where to go. Jehovah says he will provide. Well, here is provision. As I said, this is only my reasoning.

Nice to read many of the experiences shared here especially of bobby6343 and Cathii D’Anthonii as I could see the level of blindness among JWS.

But let me tell my experience here in India. In India no one knew when I came across e-watchman as I don’t see any one from India expect Joseph Alleppey from Kerala if I am correct but he is not a regular commentator like me, another person whom I knew is Raja raasan but he is an Indian origin but stays in Africa if my memory is correct. I am really not proud that I am the only one who know what is the real truth, but I am really unhappy to learn that I and my wife are the only persons from India responding to this site. Are all others in India are so blind??!! See in India some persons get dis fellowshipped for getting caught because of seeing a pron site. So have they not come across inadvertently at least once while browsing? Am I the only person (later my wife in 2012) helped by Jehovah to see what truth is and beyond? I feel bad because if I and my wife are the only ones who know the truth what benefit is there?

Suppose think this illustration if I and my wife are the only ones to escape from Armageddon what use is there as I cannot share my experience with others.

So I REQUEST JEHOVAH THROUGH JESUS PLEASE OPEN THE EYES OF MANY INDIAN JWS JUST LIKE YOU DID TO ME IN 2010. Though I was going to KH inside I felt something empty and Bible reading was boring but Jehovah you held my hand and when I searched in google it was as if getting water somewhere in the middle of desert. When I searched google Why Jehovah Witnesses? I don’t know, I don’t know, the watchman’s link came. I thought it is insignificant, twisted, fake and boring just like other sites but to MY SURPRISE IT IS A PREMIER SITE. I can only tell JEHOVAH PUSHED MY HAND TO CLICK WATCHMAN’S SITE from that day until today I never getup without seeing e-watchman’s site it became like addiction (a good addiction).

I always think of translating e-wacthman’s site in Tamil and Kannada because lot of JW’s are from Tamil origin. There is also funds problem to translate the entire site. Of course the first position goes to Malayalam Kerala (but I don’t know Malayalam only little = korachi korachi ariyam), after Tamil many JWs are in Kannada, then comes Telugu. Of course we have lot in English such as myself a (Tamil-Kannadiga guy) but actual English speaking JWs are Anglo Indians, Malayalies and North Indians such as Delhi, Bombay, West Bengal, Mizoram (East India) and some Tamilians.

Leave North Karnataka are the JW’s in Bangalore a capital city of Karnataka, a Metropolitan city, an IT software Silicon Valley city are they also so blind as they are good in English? As many JWS are working in MNCS.

So I am thinking of giving an advertisement of watchman’s website in greatgameindia magazine (check an intelligence magazine read by many top level officials. Even that magazine is not known to JWs I doubt even in Bangalore except me as its editor himself is my friend. OH WHAT A

So I request anyone seeing my comment from India and living in India can reply me in this site itself telling that there are some Indians who knows this other than Basavaraj of North Karnataka. I, would be very happy to know there are some along with me in India who know the truth.

This is an open test for all India JWS living in India including anyone working in Indian Bethel Branch in Bangalore. If there is no reply to me then I will be very sad to know the level of blindness among JWs in India imposed by WTS.

Dear Brother Basavaraj, there may be many lurkers in India. As someone else commented, Jehovah can draw people to this site. That’s what happened in my case. I tried sharing what I’ve learned with others, but it didn’t go over very well. That’s when I realized it’s not the proper time yet. Jehovah is searching for those who want to worship him in spirit and truth. Those are the people he can work with RIGHT NOW. I feel that we are being prepared for a special assignment in the near future when we will be assisting our local brothers and sisters when the towers fall and the 1914 lie is exposed.

Jesus started out with just 12. The number you start out with does not need to be large because the power of multiplication will be involved. If I only assist 2 people, and each of them assist 2 people, and so on and so forth, soon you have hundreds of people assisting hundreds of others, then thousands, and then millions. We already have the network in place. We just need to exercise patience while we wait for the starting flag to be waved.

    • Anderiega

My dear brother. You express your emotions so well and I feel your pain. I felt the SAME way for many months, and I tried to PRY open the eyes of my friends in my congregation. Perhaps those of us here are scattered about for a reason…. because the temptation to create a Reformation would be too great. Please consider Psalm 73: 15 and its context and let me know if you have the same lightbulb moment I did when I friend (from e-watchman ?) showed me this verse. May Jehovah continue to strengthen you as you man your little lighthouse in the vast territory of India. You are not alone my brother.

      • Richard Long

        WOW! did for me.

      • Huldah

        Hi Anderiega
I often think of that verse myself. Asaph’s experience is hugely comforting. Some historians theorize
Asaph’s brother was likely murdered by apostate King Solomon and this Psalm was written partly to lament the deteriorated state of Israel under his latter apostate rule. We find ourselves there again.

      • Basavaraj Of North Karnataka

        Yeah I got it!

    • there is a scripture, probably among others, (when i run into it again i will post it here) i posted on here before of Paul talking to the reader, the only one reading that passage could not be under the deluding lie. that means those here on e-Watchman who are servents of Jehovah qualify as ones that Paul was talking to. during the tribulation Jehovah pours out his spirit and causes his people to give a message of truth again.
i dont know exatly what the case of that will be but i know then the tables will be turned. you and your wife and others knowing the truth will then be in a position to tell whats really going on whereas the rest will be scilenced. they will be humiliated! and ashamed at the way they treated those of us speaking the truth!

the scripture says “let those with ears here what the spirit says” notice it does not say let those with ears believe. so its a case of hearing. so concentrating on others to be convinced isnt a good strategy. Jehovah makes it grow. so just getting them to listen to what you have to say may have an impact when the true circumstances of the great tribulation occurres.

you and the rest of us know how Jeremiah and others felt. alone in the truth. but they were not tottaly alone just like you arnt either.

thats all i will type for now because its a pain to type on this device and i nred a break

      • Basavaraj Of North Karnataka

Thank you very very much for your reply i rad 3 times it is very good and encouraging

  • NOAHtheARKist

    Great points!
It is important to point out as Brother King does, that even though Jehovah’s Witnesses do labor under the delusional 1914 doctrine, we have to remember that Jehovah allows for satans operation of error to happen…
Jehovah will correct the error in His due time, we must have faith and trust in Him to set all matters straight, that is a great test for us, to love Jehovah’s truth….

  • e.v.g

The leadership are responsible from God’s people, parents are responsible from their children, the message from God’s judgment is now being advertised. Although some false apostles are now rejecting Christ’s teachings, knowing very well Jesus message.

    • Richard Long

      Google English:

Reading the first paragraph of this article, I ask myself: “how can you preach outside the organization? I mean you can not just walk around there preaching by yourself, although many active Jehovah’s Witnesses like I know about Of the fantasy of 1914, we continue in the congregations following the direction of GB.What else is there to preach?
