KINGDOM BULLETIN #22
There is a saying among Jehovah’s Witnesses that Bible prophecy cannot be fully understood until after it has been fulfilled. That is a true statement and the principle was demonstrated long ago in the case of the apostles who were only able to understand the many prophecies that were fulfilled in the life course of Jesus after Christ was resurrected and forcefully opened their minds.
It was, in fact, impossible for the apostles to anticipate the fulfillment of God’s prophetic word beforehand for the simple reason that they were in a state of ignorance and disbelief, which is why after Jesus was resurrected he appeared to them several times and on one occasion harshly rebuked a representative number of his followers, saying to them: “O senseless ones and slow of heart to believe all the things the prophets have spoken!” — Luke 24:25 (Take note that The Bible in Living English translates the verse as follows: “O you stupid men, with hearts slow to believe on everything that the prophets spoke!”)
The leadership of Jehovah’s Witnesses presently find themselves in a similar situation—only worse. It is not that the self-proclaimed watchman-class is slow to believe the things the ancient prophets spoke; no, the Governing Body and their helpers are very familiar with Bible prophecy and have published reams of commentary on it. Rather than being slow to believe, we have been over-hasty to assume that the things written have been fulfilled.
Tragically, Jehovah’s Witnesses have been deluded into believing that a vast array of prophecies related to the second coming of Christ and the time of the end have already been fulfilled when such is not the case at all. We have ignored the apostolic warning not to be quickly shaken from our reason regarding the day of Jehovah already being here. This itself is the fulfillment of prophecy.
The brothers’ cocksureness is on display in the 2022 convention video. Despite the impressive special effects of the metallic image being struck by the Kingdom stone, the implied conclusion of the presentation is that all has been fulfilled with the exception of the crushing of the feet of iron and clay.
Although Jehovah’s Witnesses may be casually familiar with the other prophecies of Daniel concerning the time of the end there is no particular importance attached to any of them since the Watchtower has authoritatively declared them to have been fulfilled long ago. Take the seventh chapter for instance.
Daniel’s vision in the night revealed a frightening, ferocious beast with iron teeth and copper claws crushing and devouring the earth. It had ten horns. Then a little horn emerged and uprooted three of the ten and it became larger than the other seven remaining horns and it had eyes and a mouth that spoke great blasphemies. Under the rule of the emergent horn, the beast will ultimately conquer the holy ones and prevail over them until such time as Jehovah intervenes and gives the Kingdom to someone like a son of man.
The prophets of Bethel assert that the three horns first began to be plucked out in 1588. That is when the Spanish Armada was wrecked by fierce North Atlantic gales which led to a British naval victory by default. But that was just the beginning of the plucking out process. Over the course of more than two centuries the other horns, identified as France and the Netherlands, were gradually plucked out so that by Lord Nelson’s naval victory at Trafalgar in 1805, which also included the Spanish navy, the little horn is believed to have finally emerged as the British Empire and the three rival horns were no more. Except, there is a glaring problem with the Watchtower’s interpretation—actually, several.
First, even if the British Empire was/is the little horn, the Anglo-American alliance did not come into existence until the so-called Special Relationship was formed after the Second World War. That is an important detail given that the Watchtower claims the little horn is not just the British world power but the Anglo-American empire.
By far, though, the most conspicuous contradiction is the indisputable fact that all three of the nations that the Watchtower claims were uprooted are still very much in existence. France is every bit the equal of Great Britain. Both are nuclear powers and as allied victors of the last world war, both nations are permanent members of the prestigious Security Council of the United Nations.
Undoubtedly, the fulfillment of God’s prophetic word involves more than mere irrelevant historical trivia. Why ought God even bother to foretell that three horns will be uprooted if in reality the fulfillment was realized in the mostly forgotten naval battles of the colonial empires of centuries past and the nations symbolized by the horns are still viable world powers? What is the point?
As regards the Society’s video presentation of the feet of Nebuchadnezzar’s image being struck by the stone not chiseled by human hands, is it not the case that the leadership of the Watchtower has fulfilled prophecy in that “they have waited for their word to come true.” (See the 13th chapter of Ezekiel)
We are certain God’s word is not wrong. The vision of the image and the stone requires very little interpretation. God’s Kingdom will destroy every earthly kingdom. Of that, we have no doubt. The prophets of Bethel have waited to have their word come true by projecting that the system will end without their being held accountable and being forced to acknowledge the manifold errors they have proclaimed as God’s truth. They are waiting, hoping that Armageddon will bail them out. To be sure, it has been a long and fitful wait requiring many revisions.
As regards the seventh chapter of Daniel, since the Watchtower’s interpretation is demonstrably false and since the Governing Body has allowed a blatant falsity to persist for so long, and worst of all, because the Watchtower speaks or prophesies in the name of Jehovah—claiming to be the sole channel of communication through which Jehovah speaks today—I am not a false accuser or mere faultfinder to attribute the unflattering words contained in prophecy to them—“the stupid prophets.”
True to God’s word, the prophets of Bethel have proclaimed that they have perceived the fulfillment of the visions contained in the Bible and that Jehovah has revealed his confidential matters exclusively to the Governing Body. But the Watchtower’s entire prophetic exegesis is best described as a false vision—a lie.
“Woe to the stupid prophets, who follow their own spirit, when they have seen nothing! O Israel, your prophets have become like foxes among the ruins. You will not go to the broken places in the stone walls to rebuild them for the house of Israel, so that Israel may keep standing in the battle in the day of Jehovah. They have seen false visions and foretold a lie, those who are saying, ‘The word of Jehovah is,’ when Jehovah himself has not sent them, and they have waited for their word to come true. Is it not a false vision that you have seen and a lie that you have foretold when you say, ‘The word of Jehovah is,’ when I have not said anything?” — Ezekiel 13
Of course, the seventh chapter of Daniel is hardly an isolated aspect of prophecy. The ascendency of the small horn is merely one facet of Bible prophecy related to the coming of Christ. And as all of Jehovah’s Witnesses surely know, the Watchtower has in one way or another attributed the fulfillment of nearly all prophecy to 1914. A false vision to be sure!
At the present moment in history, we are witnessing the initial phase of the collapse of Western civilization. No sooner had the pandemic emergency begun to wane than the NATO war machine induced Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine. One emergency was replaced by another. I say “induced” because the chief of NATO openly admitted to arming and training Ukrainians for years prior to the outbreak of open warfare. Even before the invasion, a package of wide-ranging sanctions had been put together ready to be imposed. The stated intention of waging all-out financial warfare is to bring Russia to its knees in defeat. Instead, though, Russia has profited immensely from the steep rise in the price of the commodities that it sells.
Is it possible that the globalists are that stupid or is the Russian invasion merely a cover for something else? It would seem to be part of a bigger scheme given the fact that the sanctions have only accelerated the economic and military cooperation of Russia and China and dozens of other nations eager to free themselves from Anglo domination. As it stands now, Russia and China, and the so-called BRICS are on the brink of launching an entirely new financial system that excludes the dollar. The process of de-Dollarization—now well underway—is not an insignificant development.
Meanwhile, Europe and America are falling apart. Buried under an unpayable mountain of Dollar-denominated debt the world’s reigning reserve currency, while strengthening at the moment relative to other currencies, is itself poised to crash. The central bankers have already signaled their intention to raise interest rates until something breaks. The great reset will likely be realized by the implementation of an official cryptocurrency in the aftermath of the collapse of Europe and America. Such a system would allow the issuers of the crypto to determine what can be bought and sold and who may buy or sell.
Mankind has been put under compulsion to accept the mark of the wild beast, with the intent that “nobody might be able to buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name.” But there is a price to pay for this! Jehovah regards those who accept the mark as being stricken with “a hurtful and malignant ulcer.” Since 1922 they have been marked in public as having rejected the living God. – Revelation Grand Climax paragraph 4
Obviously, at some point in the not-too-distant future Jehovah’s Witnesses will be confronted with the reality that people did not begin receiving the 666 mark of the beast back in 1922, as is preposterously claimed in the Watchtower’s Revelation commentary.
It should not be supposed that the dark winter now looming large is the fault of Vladimir Putin. Long before the Russian armies surged into Eastern Ukraine Prince Charles organized the top 100+ banks in the trans-Atlantic financial system to cut off credit to greenhouse-gas emitting industries. That means that the shortages of gas, oil, and fertilizer and the disruption of the entire fragile supply chain upon which civilization depends, are not unintended consequences of a pandemic or the direct result of a very localized military operation in Eastern Europe; but rather, the slow-rolling disaster enveloping Europe and the United States is the result of the actualization of a well-coordinated conspiracy on the part of the wealthiest and most influential people in the Western world to collapse the global system and impose a world government devoid of the messiness of democracy and sovereign nation-states. Ultimately, the globalists intend to reduce the world’s population by a very large percentage.
Could it be that we are witnessing the emergence of the small horn and that the three horns that are destined to fall before it is the core of the Anglo-American alliance—including France? I believe we are witnessing that very thing.
However, if that is the case, if the longstanding British-American duo will fulfill the prophecy when they are uprooted as sovereign nations, how can the vision of the image of the feet of iron and clay be fulfilled?
That dilemma is resolved if we recognize that the image itself represents the eighth king. And according to Revelation, the eighth king springs from the seven. In harmony with that revelation, the image rests upon the feet of iron and clay. Since the Watchtower has also inexplicably claimed that the head of the wild beast was slaughtered during World War One, even though by all accounts the United States, Great Britain and France were victorious, we may expect the present Anglo empire to undergo a deathlike catastrophe in the near future—only to emerge from the abyss as the two-horned lamb that speaks as a dragon and brings the image of the beast to life so that it speaks. Does not the little horn grow to become dominant and speak great blasphemies against God?
It would appear that the 2022 Watchtower convention has by its very theme fulfilled prophecy. True, it is desirable for Christians to pursue peace with fellow believers and all men, but given the fact that the judgment of the house of God has not taken place—only in the Watchtower’s lying vision—it is improper to imply that all is well between Christians and Christ. Have you never read the seven letters Jesus sent to the congregations that will exist when he arrives as a thief in the night? Or do you disregard the implications of Jesus’ repeated admonition—“Let the one who has an ear hear what the spirit says to the congregations”?
Indeed, there is reason to believe that the Pursue Peace “convention” was merely part of an ongoing scheme to plaster more whitewash on the wall. “All of this is because they have led my people astray by saying, “There is peace!” when there is no peace. When a flimsy partition wall is built, they are plastering it with whitewash.’” — Ezekiel 13:10
So while the prophets of Bethel have waited to have their false visions come true, meanwhile, God’s true visions are materializing before our very eyes. When the system crashes so will the Watchtower’s whitewashed wall. Then I expect to be given the task of presenting God’s message to them: “Tell those plastering with whitewash that it will fall. A torrential downpour will come, hailstones will fall, and powerful windstorms will break it down. And when the wall falls you will be asked, ‘Where is your coating of plaster?’” — Ezekiel 13:11-12
