Prince Religion: Music Legend Also Devout Jehovah’s Witness For Many Years?

//Prince Religion: Music Legend Also Devout Jehovah’s Witness For Many Years?

Prince’s sexualized lyrics and rock ‘n’ roll energy make it all the more surprising that the music legend was a Jehovah’s Witness.

As millions around the world mourn the death of Prince, many are learning that he was a devout Jehovah’s Witness. The musician was raised a Christian, a Seventh-day Adventist to be exact, but would ultimately become a Jehovah’s Witness in 2001.

“I don’t see it really as a conversion. More, you know, it’s a realization,” he explained to The New Yorker in 2009. “It’s like Morpheus and Neo in The Matrix.”

As part of the faith, Prince would knock on doors to promote and recruit others to become Jehovah’s Witnesses. “Sometimes people act surprised, but mostly they’re really cool about it,” he said.

His ideas on social issues like gay marriage and abortion trended towards conservative in nature.

“God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out,” Prince said, when asked for his perspective on these social issues. “He was, like, ‘Enough.'”

However, he did not fully subscribe to either side of the political aisle, Republican or Democrat, saying that he did not believe either side was truly right.

“So here’s how it is: you’ve got the Republicans, and basically they want to live according to this,” he said, referring to the Bible. “But there’s the problem of interpretation, and you’ve got some churches, some people, basically doing things and saying it comes from here, but it doesn’t. And then on the opposite end of the spectrum you’ve got blue, you’ve got the Democrats, and they’re, like, ‘You can do whatever you want.’ Gay marriage, whatever. But neither of them is right.”

Response from people discovering Prince was a Jehovah’s Witness has been varied, though many fans seem  surprised by the news.

RIP Prince … much respect for being a public Witness in an industry 100% opposed to you.

  • Luis Meriño Vásquez

Its really easy to imagine that the dark powers behind the scenes in music industry killed him. The strange circunstances in which he died just like other artists who were found dead in their houses or apartments makes me think that this wasn’t a sudden death. Sometimes when somebody is in this industry, he began to know many secrets that the direct servants of Satan and secret societies dont want that common people now. Also, people who rebel or don’t want to be part of them anymore are killed. It happened with MJ and many other artists. I’m not saying this is a fact that it could be considered a possibility. He had flu but everything sounds very strange and smells fishy to me.

  • 不错,不错,看看了!

  • I am some what unclear about his genuineness in the truth because of who he was and his position in society. was he baptized? or was he still within his studies? I am not sure but if he was truly sinsere about the truth then at least he had the benefit of his studies and learning about Jehovah before he expired. I will say though his death does seems sudden and very Unexpected. whatever the case may be at least like so many others that have passed he will have the hope of the resurrection.

    • Brian

Does it really matter now Leonard? He has lived his life and now he is dead, he will be part of the resurrection no?

      • of course he will brother he has the hope and no not that it matter.

        • Luis Meriño Vásquez

I have seen many videos of him speaking about Jehovah. He was sincere although he was still strange in his way of looking but that’s not really important.

          • I am in no position to question any mans integrity nor was I trying to. I am happy for prince he found the truth and he was trying. what more can we ask. when we fall Jehovah wants us to GET UP and keep trying and this is one very important thing to remember.

            Revelation 3:3

3 Therefore, continue mindful of how you have received and how you heard, and go on keeping it, and repent. Certainly unless you wake up, I will come as a thief, and you will not know at all at what hour I will come upon you.

    • Kevin b

He was baptized in 2001 I believe.

    • Darren Wilks

Did he call upon the name of the True and Living God in faith? I know he did. I’ll bet in his vault are hundreds of beautiful songs to Jehovah. I hope we get to hear them.

    • Jim

Prince was baptized in or around 2001. He was baptized at the local Kingdom Hall in Minnesota, in order to avoid a spectacle, I would imagine. He was introduced to the truth by Larry Graham, of Sly and The Family Stone. Larry’s life story was in the “Awake” magazine years ago. Also, Brother George Benson was instrumental in his realization that, this is indeed the truth. His mother was a baptized witness as well. He loved his mother, and it was her wish before she passed, that he look into the faith. Prince lost two children. One at a week old, and one by miscarriage. He has a sister as well, most do not realize. After his “realization” that Jehovah’s Witness do have the truth, it was reflected in his music. See “Rainbow Children”. In his lyrics, you will find at least one reference to 1914. I did not know Prince, but I know some that did. He did go out in field service, for what it’s worth, but I have no idea how regular. I am not a cheerleader for Prince, but he does seem to have made a very significant change upon learning at least some of the truth. It is reflected in a marked change in his lyrics. And an unwillingness to perform songs from his earlier works, that were really downright nasty in the lyrics. I was born in the truth. So I never had the opportunity to make the massive change in belief systems, that Prince did. I would guess, that it was not far enough for most everyday witnesses. But I do believe that likely he loved or at least appreciated Jehovah and his son. None of us are in a position to judge this man.

      • Song of Hannah

Thanks so much for sharing this, Jim. Not that my opinion matters one iota, but I though his leap of faith was a huge one. 🙂

        • Jim

Many witnesses would want Prince (his birth name BTW) to automatically give up his career and pioneer. He had enough money to do so. But, is this realistic? I don’t know. I cannot answer that. But what I do know, even though he had much, Prince was not materialistic, I have known many professional musicians, that were also brothers/sisters. They were not pioneers. It was their stock and trade. It was how they earned a living. I knew an elder that was a professional musician, taught guitar. Was a big influence on several well known artists albums, Cyndi Lauper etc…His name was even on the credits of their albums. At the same time, I was a musician as well. The same Elder stated that he had heard our band was pretty good, but then he councelled us that our band was drawing too many people and that the environment could not be controlled. A balanced guy, for sure. A spiritual man, But a worldly musician.

        • patri

Your opinion does matter Hannah. You are appreciated more than you know sister.

        • Bklyn Kevin

His leap of faith surely was huge especially given the contrast between the world and the truth, and I can imagine his transition being that much more complicated due to his fame as well as his fortune, Jesus did say It would be easier for a camel to get through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God and When the disciples heard that, they were greatly astounded, saying: “Who really can be saved?”. Looking at them intently, Jesus said to them: “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

However Jesus did inform his apostles upon their request that it is possible if they observe the commandments continually, Jesus said: “You must not murder, you must not commit adultery, you must not steal, you must not bear false witness, honor your father and your mother, and you must love your neighbor as yourself.”

Then a young man said to him: “I have kept all of these; what am I still lacking?” Jesus said to him: “If you want to be perfect, go sell your belongings and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come be my follower.”
Then Jesus went on to explain even if they were confronted with opposition from family members they were to seek the kingdom first and keep following him In order received everlasting life.

I can only imagine what prince was thinking when he read this passage and keep in mind that prince for the majority of his life was in the world, what a immense challenge he had to overcome.

Nonetheless the evidence suggest that prince regardless of his personal circumstances undertook those challenges and made it publicly known and to the best of his abilities was pursuing the kingdom interest . Matthew 19:1-30

          • patri

            Thank you for that Kevin.
I wonder how i, standing in Prince’s shoes in front of hundreds of peers, holding an award in my hands, could have spoken Gods name Jehovah into the microphone for the whole world to hear, as he did. What a man…

      • Darren Wilks

Eloquently put, and may Jesus and Jehovah have mercy on him and us all. Amen

      • you know I really don’t know how many times I can repeat this. I was not judging prince at all. I merley asked a question about him and all of a sudden that means I’m judging him? common people get it together. thank you jim for sharing that information it was well noted.

      • Jim

Sorry. I was told that his mother was not baptized. She was studying I am told. There was an announcement after the Sunday meeting, that brother Nelson had passed away. No fanfare. I would assume, that everyone already knew. There were a few media types there. CNN has a fairly decent article on his faith, I lost the link. Sorry.

        • Teleologist

Hi Jim, I read your post on e-watchman concerning the blood issue and agree with you. Please contact me as I have some questions.

  • Song of Hannah

I always thought it was a victory against Satan that this man came to know Jehovah. As he didn’t grow up in the truth, or become famous in his industry after he learned the truth. Rather, he learned and came in after being completely immersed in the industry. And that’s a pretty difficult road to overcome, that few would have the faith to travel, I would think.

    • Jonah Peter Paul

Great point! We share the same sentiment as well. He clearly sacrificed some things in his life. Read a few of them in the news. I just think he had no choice even if he wanted to totally leave the industry. His struggle was obvious. But as a famous song of Katy Perry said: “there’s no going back..” Glad there is a resurrection. We might see him there.

      • we all have a choice after all Jehovah did give us free will.

        • Jonah Peter Paul

That is true Leonard but there are some serious ties that hollywood stars and famous singers have with the ruler of this world that they just cant cut off overnight. In other words, they are controlled, they don’t have control over their own lives. It is a surprise that Prince was able to do a lot before he died. He was able to attend meetings, preach, have a Bible reading and study of the Scriptures for several hours a day (according to the news) He refused to even have a surgery that he badly needed because he does not want to have a blood transfusion. I can’t feel bad towards him because as Hannah has mentioned, he was already famous when he became a Witness and he didnt boast about it while doing questionable things. He wasn’t able to get out of the industry totally but he became a more private person and even refused to sing the explicit songs that made him famous. He stopped swearing as well. It must be hard given his situation but he tried to make changes in his life that many people have noticed. So for that effort of his, I give him credit. At least there was an effort to change.

          • Bklyn Kevin

            Food for thought.
Moses had made the most important decision of his life: “By faith Moses, when grown up, refused to be called the son of the daughter of Pharaoh,
choosing to be ill-treated with the people of God rather than to have the temporary enjoyment of sin.
{Moses thereby gave up the honor and materialism} that he might have enjoyed as a member of the household of mighty Pharaoh.
            http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/h/r1/lp-eBy

Hebrews 24 Moses, when grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharʹaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing to be mistreated with the people of God rather than to have the temporary enjoyment of sin,
26 because he considered the reproach of the Christ to be riches greater than the treasures of Egypt, for he looked intently toward the payment of the reward.
27 By faith he left Egypt, but not fearing the anger of the king, for he continued steadfast as seeing the One who is invisible.
28 By faith he observed the Passover and the splashing of the blood, so that the destroyer might not harm* their firstborn.
29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as on dry land, but when the Egyptians attempted it, they were

            • Jonah Peter Paul

Thank you Kevin. I do appreciate your diligence in sharing these meaningful passage. I do get your point and Leonard’s. And true there are things that can be questioned about Prince. For example his use of demonic symbolism and his refusal to quit the industry altogether and live a total simple life. But in light of the things that I have heard and read about him, I took them into consideration and thought that I should give him the benefit of the doubt, some credit for trying to make some “noticeable changes” and sacrifices in his life (unlike many so called devout JWs in hollywood and music industry, you know them already…) Now whether he died clean and pleasing to God is none of my business, if he did good and tried his best all I am saying is that there is resurrection for those who are faithful to God. I am not implying that he was an exemplary brother or anything like that. Just tried to have a balance view of things.

    • Frida PB

      Really??open you eyes

      • Song of Hannah

Oh? What do you take issue with?

    • I don’t see how he over came the industry after all he did continue his career but what does the scriptures say?

      Matthew 19:21

21 Jesus said to him: “If you want to be perfect, go sell your belongings and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come be my follower.”

Hmm, well I haven’t sold all my belongings either…

      • Song of Hannah

I think a lot of people do not understand musicians, poets and artists, and the creative drive that constantly compels them – much like a writer who can’t put down his pen. And when we don’t understand people, we have a tendency to judge them. James 4:11,12, Ps 15:3, Ps 50:20, Prov 18:13

        • I was not judging prince at all I was merley trying to understand his position concerning his self while being JW. I have seen prince on many TV talk shows and on one show he had a JW with him and prince stated this JW was with him at all times and the JW even answered many questions posed to prince. I found this very odd was this prefrinctal treatment of some kind? or was the watchtower protecting there Financial interests? after all prince did have a lot of money and he certainly was a Financial catch for the watchtower / GB. to tell you the truth I feel some what bad for prince because he got stuck in the middle here on one hand you have the watchtower stumbling so many and here on the other hand you have satans wicked system of things just waiting to chew you up and spit you out. on another note I would just like to remind all of us that prince was just a man like us all he now has the hope of the resurrection but let us not give reverence to man but let us give glory to Jehovah and jesus Christ.

          Jeremiah 13:16

16 Give glory to Jehovah your God Before he brings darkness And before your feet stumble on the mountains at dusk. You will hope for the light, But he will bring deep shadow; He will turn it into thick gloom.

The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures

          Psalm 29:2

2 Give Jehovah the glory due his name. Bow down to Jehovah in holy adornment.

The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures

          Psalm 84:11

11 For Jehovah God is a sun and a shield; He gives favor and glory. Jehovah will not hold back anything good From those walking in integrity.

The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures

          Psalm 96:8

8 Give Jehovah the glory due his name; Bring a gift and come into his courtyards.

You mean Larry Graham? If my facts are right, Prince studied with Larry Graham, and they became best buddies. So yes, of course they were together a lot.

            • no I don’t mean LARRY GRHAM I MEAN HE WAS ON TV TALK SHOWS WITH AN APOINTED JW TO ANSWER QUESTIONS POSED TO HIM.

            • Song of Hannah

Okay, but no need to shout, really.

            • I’m not shouting silly my caps key got stuck lol.

Ok lol 🙂 If you can find the video, please share. Thanks.

In the first century there were some wealthy christians according to the apostle Paul:
Instruct those who are rich in the present system of things not to be arrogant, and to place their hope, not on uncertain riches. but on God, who richly provides us with all the things we enjoy. Tell them to work at good, to be rich in fine works, to be generous, ready to share, safely treasuring up for themselves a fine foundation for the future, so that they may get a firm hold on the real life.
When jesus comes it will be necessary to leave the riches that they have and be ready to the kingdom of God, although these will be seized.
(Similar to the first century, when the disciples leave all to follow Jesus personally, family, friends and all that (if they do not leave you alone first), but meanwhile they can share they possessions.

    • Nip It in the Bud

I was surprised to read that Prince grew up as 7th Day Adventist…… Since the JW’s truth sprang from some of those early teachings of the 7th Day folks…..going JW seems a logical move for him….. I was also surprised to learn he was in this industry while being JW….This kind of says to me that the JW structure is different in different places. I know that if I wanted to be in that industry, my Elders would have told me it was against JW ways…. I’ve travel a lot and in order to hear Sunday Public Talks, I’ve visited up to 10 KH’s over a years time…Each of them are different…Even congregations sharing the same building are different. I think the attitudes of the Presiding welders effect how things are interpreted and enforced…. I could be wrong…or partially wrong…. I have not followed Prince’s death…Has anyone made a Statement as to the How and possible Why? Thank You…….

  • Kevin b

Prince was a great entertainer, and he loved to entertain. He was a wild one in his day but after he lost two children, one a week or so old, the other in a miscarriage, he longed for the truth and wanted answers. Learning about Jehovah, and the future hope of mankind, I’m sure meant a lot to him. Becoming a servant of Jehovah shouldn’t require that you stop doing what you love. Hats off to Prince for not following the program that the Watchtower promotes. I know a lot of talented musicians in the organization who have been told they shouldn’t pursue their dreams. They go above and beyond the scriptures in controlling the members of the congregation. Prince tamed down his music, he wouldn’t play his raunchy stuff like darling Nikki anymore, he put on the new personality. He made changes in his life. We don’t get to judge Prince, that is for Jehovah to do. I do wonder if the local congregation gave him privileges or not. They sure wouldn’t at my Kingdom Hall. I’m sure he fattened the pockets of the Watchtower too. I do wonder how this high profile funeral will be handled. This could be a good opportunity to give a great witness to on lookers, or they could screw it up. I feel like many JW’s looked down on him because obviously he wasn’t a typical rank and file JW. His dress and grooming wasn’t the norm in the eyes of a lot of JWs. I hope to meet brother Nelson (Prince) in the new world.

    • Frida PB

I’m sure he is not going to have a JW funeral after all the publicity surrounding his death. unless he has some $$$ on his will if JW’s honor his request.

    • “Becoming a servant of Jehovah shouldn’t require that you stop doing what you love.” I totally agree with this statement. being a musician myself and also an award winning producer …makes life difficult sometimes when it comes to being JW, but Jehovah does not require from us to become Zombies and slaves to an organization. Matthew 22:40 He can use an individuals talents to also carry out his will. Prince was very out there and sexually centered in almost all his music. I grew up listening to the incredibly talented Prince, and there is no doubt in my mind he was looking for something more. Whatever Prince’s standing was with the JW.ORG does not matter. The fact remains that Jehovah and Jesus are the ones who know the true person of the heart.

      • Sam

The way i see it, it’s a persons trade. The same way as someone who trains to be a plumber or mechanic. That is their craft and it’s all they know to make a living from. They still have bills to pay and often family to provide for. Does Jehovah expect someone to give up their job for no good reason other than because some in their elevated pride don’t like it? If they work hard to keep a simple/focused eye then i don’t think we are fit to judge

  • Revv_zone@gmail.com Please8834

Most Jehovah witnesses have no idea that they are in fact an off shoot of seventh day Adventist. Oddly enough the beliefs of the Adventists are very similar .most people dont know that’s my book of Bible stories is almost exactly the same as the Seventh-day Adventist 1954 Book of Bible stories.they even believe in the thousand year reign the resurrection they don’t believe in consuming alcohol ..the point is, its quit easy to convert from seventh day Adventist to Jehovah’s witnesses. .

    • Song of Hannah

Wow, you comment shows how little you know what Jehovah’s Witnesses truly believe. A very surface knowledge. Kinda like saying Macs & PCs are identical, because hey, they are both computers. lol

      • Revv_zone@gmail.com Please8834

Wow??? Your comment shows how LITTLE YOU KNOW about why Jehovah witnesses aren’t still Seventh day Adventist! You comments also show that you know NOTHING about teachings other that what the Org tells you, and how brainwashed they keep people from understanding those you are trying to convert..I am and have been a Jehovah witnesses for 40+ yrs Why not try digging into what you think your beliefs are built on,instead of criticizing something said by someone out of your own ignorance. .

        • Song of Hannah

Uh hum, ok. I only grew up a 7th Day Adventist and work in the computer industry. But whatever. lol

        • little harsh aren’t we. if you were / are a JW for 40 years as you say then you should well know to season your words with salt and incite to love.

          Colossians 4:6

6 Let your words always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should answer each person.

          1 John 4:7

7 Beloved ones, let us continue loving one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born from God and knows God.

        • Song of Hannah

Also, you stated one of the similarities was not consuming alcohol. Oddly nearly all the Witnesses I know consume alcohol, in fact lots of it. lol. Surprised you’ve been a Witness for 40 years and think we don’t drink.

          • Revv_zone@gmail.com Please8834

You must on dope..or cant read.ill get a Crayon and draw you a picture. .I wasn’t talking about Jehovah witnesses not drinking .I was talking about Seventh Day Adventist frown on consuming alcohol! Really you must be an idiot. Learn how to read!!

            • Song of Hannah

Sadly, using insults only distracts from the issue, and makes you look bad, not me. But here’s what you say, and it’s pretty apparent that you are listing the similarities between Witnesses and Adventists. As you start with the subject of plagiarism, and then list the 1,000 year reign, the resurrection, and then that they “don’t believe in consuming alcohol”. If anyone thinks I’m an idiot for concluding this, please chime in.

“conclusion theres plagiarism by the Jehovah’s Witnesses going on ,they even believe in the thousand year reign and the resurrection they don’t believe in consuming alcohol”

            • Revv_zone@gmail.com Please8834

              Duh!!!! “They” Seventh-day Adventist… moron

            • Song of Hannah

I understood you exactly. But you listed Adventists not consuming alcohol in as one of the plagiarized beliefs. One would suspect that by insulting everyone you are trying to divert attention from this statement, as it would belie your claim that you’ve been a witness for 40 years.

            • Revv_zone@gmail.com Please8834

Gonna take a thousand years to perfection so in the meantime we continue putting up with one another, eh and try our hardest to not analyse, label or judge people, because when disagreements occur through misunderstanding the meaning in a text, it can be extremely upsetting for everyone here, especially affecting those who are involved I imagine.
And I’m very happy being female, menopause and all…still affected by it at 75yrs

Well l would like to apologize. Revv Zone I am sorry I got your ire up. Had I known how much my opinion would upset you, I would never had posted it. I am truly sorry, and hope you will forgive me.

            • ewatchman

You really never know what can set someone off. But given that some of his comments were denigrating to females and you do not have a gender-neutral handle, it is probably the case that he has issues with women in general and you just happen to be a female who drew his fire. You are very gracious for apologizing.

            • Revv_zone@gmail.com Please8834

Well look who calling the kettle black! I dont have issues with woman on any level theres no probably about that ignorant assumtion on your part..sorts ok for you to demean the anointed calling then stupid prophets .ive seen you blast people in here over the yrs..I ‘ve been wrong but dont cast your degrading assumption on me tree with this is your format and you boot me anytime you want an apology fine I apologize 4 ton of stupidity besides myself in this roomou

            • ewatchman

You seem to be confused. “The stupid prophets” is a designation Jehovah gives to the leadership of his people. It is not something I made up. You need to just chill out.

            • Revv_zone@gmail.com Please8834

Why not practice what you preach .Sister

            • Song of Hannah

Disagreeing and calling out inconsistencies is not the same as name calling. You don’t see my posts getting deleted now do you?

            • Revv_zone@gmail.com Please8834

Why not close your mouth and end the conversation, This why some Jehovah witnesses cant learn anything else except the blithering garbage that gets them into trouble. Enough said! !

9 Let [YOUR] love+ be without hypocrisy.+ Abhor what is wicked,+ cling to what is

good.+ 10 In brotherly love+ have tender affection for one another. In showing honor+ to one another take the lead. 11 Do not loiter atYOUR business.+ Be aglow with the spirit.+ Slave for Jehovah.*+ 12 Rejoice in the hope.+ Endure under tribulation.+ Persevere in prayer.+ 13 Share with the holy ones according to their needs.+ Follow the course of hospitality.+ 14 Keep on blessing those who persecute;+ be blessing+ and do not be cursing.+ 15 Rejoice with people who rejoice;+ weep with people who weep. 16 Be minded the same way toward others as to yourselves;+ do not be minding lofty things,+ but be led along with the lowly things.+ Do not become discreet in YOUR own eyes.+

17 Return evil for evil+ to no one. Provide fine things in the sight of all men. 18 If possible, as far as it depends upon YOU, be peaceable+ with all men

Prince was an interesting, artistic man. Very talented and conscience of his spiritual needs. Regardless of his performance on stage, he was a kind man at heart. Miss-guided in matters and UNIQUE. My question is: How will The Watchtower Society benefit by his death? Wait and see how much the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society will gain financially from this “brother’s” estate. It is apparent that the WTB&TS has already received extensive money and even some royalty rights from his songs by donation and transfer. I do feel that it is a pathetic move by the Watchtower Society to beg for money and so-called donations just like the so-called worldly people do. Perhaps the many lawsuits against the JW leadership and the elders have caused such a change in this organization. Jehovah’s “chosen” group has fallen to a new low in so many ways.

    Just my opinion and outlook!

  • Merton

Anybody who is rich and comes to an understanding of the Kingdom has done very well indeed.

  • what i like about his death is that he is alive. we all see him dead now but it wont even be time passing for him but sudenly waking up in a new world that he helped promote. next thing he will know is hes in the new earth saying wow im here! as he looks to Jehovah and gives deep thanks for his life. im sure he’ll write many more songs of thanks to his God Jehovah

      John 11: Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life;

  • The Ancient Witness

Well, breaking insider news! (4-25-2016) I guess Prince had a trust fund $$$ for the
Watchtower Society. A big chunk of worldly ca$h and music is headed to
the Watchtower and the Governing Body of Elders. You know, the good old
boys!! ……LOL…… I knew it! I’ll bet they don’t turn it down. Especially since Watchtower trucks are leaving headquarters within 24 hours to gather the “treasures”. Lots of things hidden from view and the public. How sad to be so used and manipulated by a group of men whose OPINION has been elevated to divine status….. When will it stop and people wake up?

    • ewatchman

      Is that a rhetorical question?

      • The Ancient Witness

LOL I know, waste of space to state the obvious….

  • Basavaraj Of North Karnataka

Why so much confusion of Prince. I think so because of dressing and association with the music industry and his prior way of life. Well our God Jehovah is not silly. Even some one could not make up to the standards of Bible still Jehovah forgives such persons at least if he had the intention to come to Jehovah. Jehovah knows why some of them could not make in this system. There are some Jehovah’s witness who raped their own daughters and killed their own wives. But Prince is not like that! I appreciate he has talent may be he used it for the Satanic world, but in the new system I hope he will use it to Praise Jehovah and Jesus. I hope that Prince will be resurrected. Just read: ACTS:24:15: And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection+ of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

    Excerpt from Ted Jaracz brochure.
It should be realized that from Jehovah’s standpoint giving worship to something or someone other than God does not necessarily have to be an overt act. Merely giving undue honor to another may be considered a form of idolatry. Consider the case of the Corinthians. In 1st Corinthians the first chapter, Paul expressed his astonishment that some of the Corinthians claimed to belong to him; others to Apollos, etc. It was not that the Corinthians were praying to Paul, as a modern Catholic might direct their prayers to Saint Paul or Saint Peter, etc. But apparently it was more than mere gratitude for Paul’s self-sacrifice, which is why Paul asked them the question; ‘Paul did not die for you, did he?’

There is no question that we humans are prone to idolatry. Just look at young people at a rock concert and you are looking at a worship service. Don’t they even call the performers “stars” and “idols”?.

I hope he stored up enough treasure in heaven……
Rather, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also Matthew:6.
