Donald Trump has been called many things. It would be fair to say he is a Disrupter. Especially is that so when it comes to war and peace. Since his recent re-election, he has brought a critical Bible prophecy into focus. What prophecy? A prophecy most familiar to Jehovah’s Witnesses—“Whenever it is that they are saying, “Peace and security!”

During the summer of 2024, there was a lot of talk about a nuclear confrontation between NATO and Russia. Now the focus has shifted to not only ending the war in Ukraine, but also the Israeli war in the Middle East.

Donald Trump appears to be driven by his desire to leave a legacy as the “peace president.”  More power to him, right? At the same time, though, powerful people allied with the Crown and the City of London are determined to keep the war against Russia going. Some NATO states are devising a plan to put “peacekeepers” on the ground in Ukraine, which Putin has warned would be considered legitimate targets. There is even talk among numerous NATO-member countries of instituting military conscription based on the prevailing propaganda that Putin intends to invade all of Europe. If that becomes policy, Jehovah’s Witnesses in Europe are sure to be impacted.

After his two-hour phone conversation with President Putin on Monday, President Trump posted a message on X saying he intends to not only end the war but also establish business deals with Russia if the situation in Ukraine can be resolved. That means normalizing relations between the world’s foremost nuclear powers. Strange as it may sound, normalized, peaceful relations between Russia and America are anathema to some.

For the uninformed, the British Empire has long fought against any alliance between America and Russia. That is why, for instance, after the Soviet-American alliance defeated Hitler and his Nazi regime in 1945, the British were quick to orchestrate the Cold War and sent Churchill to the US to declare that an iron curtain had fallen in Europe—effectively preventing any further cooperation.

Another little-known fact is that it has also been the policy of the lords of London to break up the vast, continent-sprawling Russian Federation into smaller bite-sized states that can then be strip-mined. Although the Anglo war propagandist parrot the line that Putin invaded Ukraine unprovoked, the truth is that the Anglo-American warhawks orchestrated a coup in 2014 and toppled the Russia-friendly government in Keiv and placed Banderites, neo-Nazis, in positions of power in Ukraine. For several years after the coup, the West poured billions of dollars into arming and training what briefly became the largest military in Europe. The CIA also built 26 stations and several dozen bio weapons labs in Ukraine and then unleashed their proxy army against the ethnic Russians in the eastern part of Ukraine, knowing Putin would be compelled to act to protect Russians in the breakaway republics from being wiped out. The war in Ukraine is merely the tip of NATO’s spear to split Russia up.

But why would Europe’s leaders be so reckless, forgetting the disasters that befell other would-be conquerors of Russia, like Napoleon and Hitler? It seems they are being driven by unseen demonic forces intent on destroying the heart of Christendom and America.

As evidence of the powerful counter currents rushing to disrupt the peace initiative, a terrorist attack in Kashmir suddenly brought India and Pakistan to the brink of nuclear war. The timing of that incident in those former British colonies is particularly suspicious, given the fact that it occurred as peace talks were being organized. Apparently, though, President Trump intervened in that clash and prevented a catastrophe, at least for the time being. And, of course, Trump is also driven to solve the Iranian nuclear program crisis on behalf of Israel. The man has a lot on his plate.

So, to summarize the present strategic situation, the Anglo imperium, otherwise known as Western civilization, is bankrupt and politically collapsing, and a multipolar world is emerging. Dying empires do not go peacefully into the night. The stage is being set for the seeming success of Trump’s efforts to bring peace and security, only to result instead in the sudden destruction of America and Europe by the forces arrayed against the West’s continued dominance. The sudden downfall of America and the powers of Europe are topics considered in numerous articles on e-watchman and in the book, Jehovah Has Become King.

Because of the current situation, it is good to review some recent Watchtower articles on the topic of “peace and security.” In an article entitled  Learn from Bible Prophecy (August 2023), the Watchtower stated:

20 A proclamation of “peace and security” will be made. (1 Thess. 5:3) Then the world’s political powers will turn on false religion and wipe it out. (Rev. 17:16, 17) They will then attack God’s people. (Ezek. 38:18, 19) These events will lead directly to the final war of Armageddon. (Rev. 16:14, 16

If Jehovah’s Witnesses were to follow the apostolic exhortation to make sure of all things and they were to examine the verses cited closely, they might be surprised to realize that there is no scriptural support for the Watchtower’s oft-repeated prognostication concerning the ordering of prophetic events.

Simply reading the prophet Paul’s words in the fifth chapter of 1 Thessalonians, it is apparent that “sudden destruction” is destined to come upon those saying “peace and security.” That fact, in itself, does not necessarily rule out religionists being the source of those who will be saying “peace and security.”( Interestingly, the newly elected Pope of Rome has offered to host talks between the warring parties.) However, it is not sensible or reasonable to expect religionists to have real authority over the resolution of the conflict between nuclear-armed nations. Neither is it realistic to expect the nations of the world to unite in a campaign to eradicate organized religion suddenly.

That is not to suggest that Babylon the Great will not eventually be destroyed. Jehovah God will see to it that it is swiftly eliminated, illustrated by the angel hurling a millstone into the sea. However, as stated already, there is no support in the prophetic scriptures for the Watchtower’s dogma concerning Babylon the Great going down at the beginning of the great tribulation. First must come war, famine, pestilence, and the collapse of civilization—symbolised in Revelation with the unsealing of the sixth seal, bringing about the crash of mountain-like governments and supportive institutions.

Keep in mind that there is no evidence that the Anglo-American victors of the First World War suffered anything remotely analogous to a mortal head wound. Given the present state of affairs, though—the internal fracturing of society in America and Europe, the enormous, unpayable debt, and the powers arrayed against it—why is it so unthinkable that the greatest nation in the world might suddenly experience a catastrophic downfall, especially since there is a scheme afoot on the part of powerful men to bring about this very thing?

The reason the “seers” of Bethel have it all wrong is because of their attachment to 1914. Jehovah’s Witnesses may not realize just how much of prophecy has been attributed to the past, foremost being the presence of Christ. The parousia has been turned into a non-event. Supposedly, Christ came in 1914 and has been invisibly present, but he is coming again, and so we must be on the watch for his third coming. This is the absurdity that is the foundational cornerstone of the Watchtower Society.

If we but read the context of Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians, Paul was writing about the coming presence of Christ and the first resurrection. He then reminded the Thessalonians that they needed nothing to be written to them concerning the times and seasons since Jesus had already informed his followers that the Son of man is coming exactly as a thief in the night.

Although the New World Translation says Jehovah’s day is coming as a thief in the night, the translators cannot prove that Paul used the Tetragrammaton in that passage. There is no original letter and no copies use YHWH in that passage.

It is a fact that the apostles also spoke of the day of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Lord’s day. And although the Lord’s day and the day of Jehovah are one and the same, the Watchtower has divorced these expressions, claiming the day of the Lord began in 1914. However, if that were true, then that day should have been preceded by their saying “peace and security,” since Jesus used the exact same analogy, describing his coming as a thief.

It appears beyond dispute that Paul was referring to the Lord’s day in reference to Jesus. If Jehovah’s Witnesses were not indoctrinated to the extent that they are, it would not even be an issue.

The implications of a future presence of Christ are profound. It means that when they are saying “peace and security,” followed by nations arising against nations and kingdoms against kingdoms, the Watchtower’s credibility will be shattered.

God has illustrated this very thing in both Isaiah and Ezekiel, likening the prophet’s utterances to a whitewashed wall that suddenly falls. In Isaiah, Jehovah illustrates it thusly: “So this error will be for you like a broken wall, like a bulging high wall ready to fall. It will crash suddenly, in an instant. It will be broken like a large potter’s jar, so completely smashed that no fragment among its pieces will be left…”

In another article from 2023, urging Jehovah’s Witnesses to be watchful, the Watchtower stated:

When discussing Bible prophecy, however, we should avoid speculating. Why? Because we would not want to say anything that could cause disunity in the congregation. For instance, we may hear world leaders talk about how they can solve a particular conflict and bring peace and security. Instead of speculating that such a statement fulfills the prophecy at 1 Thessalonians 5:3, we need to keep up-to-date with the latest published information. When we base our discussions on material published by Jehovah’s organization, we help the congregation to remain united “in the same line of thought.”

In other words, Jehovah’s Witnesses cannot know how developing world events may fulfill Bible prophecy in the future unless they are informed by the “latest published information.” Discussions of such matters can only be based upon the material published by “Jehovah’s organization.” On the one hand, why would anyone have to have it explained to them what is happening when sudden destruction follows their saying “peace and security”? Doesn’t this demonstrate that the Watchtower would prefer Jehovah’s Witnesses to be united in believing the same falsehoods rather than allow for some rogue Christian to speak what is true?

More than a quarter of a century ago, I spoke to a Governing Body member on the phone and tried to explain to him the absurdity of the Watchtower’s interpretation of Joel. He listened up to a point but then reproved me, saying that if Jehovah wanted the Governing Body to understand anything, he would reveal it to them directly and not through someone who imagined they were anointed.

His rebuke stunned me. It seemed arrogant. However, now I realize he was right. If Jehovah wanted them to know something, he would reveal it to them. The converse is also true: if God does not want them to know something, then it will remain hidden from them. And that is exactly what Jehovah has done. He even says so in prophecy: “Be stunned and amazed; blind yourselves and be blinded. They are drunk, but not with wine; they are staggering, but not from alcohol. For Jehovah has poured a spirit of deep sleep on you; He has closed your eyes, the prophets, and he has covered your heads, the visionaries.” – Isaiah 29:9-10

By the way, a few years ago, the Watchtower meekly ditched their absurd interpretation of Joel and now claims the prophecy has no modern fulfillment. This is utterly astonishing, considering that the expression “the day of Jehovah” occurs five times in the prophecy. Someone at Bethel does not want you to know what is coming.

Given the putrifying decadence that was once Western Civilization, the determination of the beleaguered president to leave a legacy of peace, and the deepening blindness and tyranny of the leadership of Jehovah’s Witnesses, I conclude by citing Donald Trump’s closing words of his message on X: “Let the process begin.”

I heartily concur.
