Over the years, I have posted numerous articles and a few videos on the topic of “peace and security.” That expression is related to a verse in the Bible —a prophecy found at 1 Thessalonians 5:3. For the unfamiliar, the verse states: “Whenever it is that they are saying, “Peace and security!” then sudden destruction is to be instantly on them…”

The prophecy is of special interest to Jehovah’s Witnesses for the reason it is understood to relate to the end of the present wicked system under Satan’s influence. Also, the scripture is not translated as “peace and security” in most English Bible translations. The most popular versions say “peace and safety.” It is not that “peace and safety” is necessarily a wrong translation. Still, it lacks relevance due to the fact that the exact expression “peace and security” is embedded into the fabric of the political system, especially the organization designed with the mission of securing and maintaining “peace and security,” namely, the United Nations.

If you do not appreciate what I mean concerning the precise wording of “peace and security” being official parlance, simply google the phrase. For example, in a final message from the outgoing president of the United States, paragraph four states:

It is long past time for the fighting to end and the work of building peace and security to begin.

In view of the fact that “peace and security” is an official expression, perhaps it is by divine providence that the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures published by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, uses this phrase, and when the prophecy is fulfilled—as it surely will be in the near future—it will resonate among Jehovah’s Witnesses more than others.

The importance of the fulfillment of the prophecy cannot be understated. That is because whenever it is they are saying “peace and security” to the extent destined by God, it will herald the stealthy arrival of the Son of man and the beginning of the end.

Context is important. In his first letter to the Thessalonians, the apostle Paul explained to them that the first resurrection would begin during the closing days of Satan’s system while a remnant of holy ones was still on earth. Paul wrote: For this is what we tell you by Jehovah’s word, that we the living who survive to the presence of the Lord will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep in death; because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. Afterward we the living who are surviving will, together with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we will always be with the Lord.” (4:15-17)

Paul was not describing what Evangelicals call the “rapture.” Instead, the apostle was contrasting two types of death. Those in union with Christ who die before his presence begins must sleep in death until the commanding call of the archangel awakens them. However, those who are living when Jesus, the archangel, descends from heaven will not sleep in death—no, not even for a nanosecond. No one is going to be bodily levitated off the earth, though. Paul explained to the Corinthians a sacred secret: Look! I tell you a sacred secret: We will not all fall asleep in death, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the blink of an eye, during the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised up incorruptible, and we will be changed.” – 1 Cor. 15:51-52

Again, Paul showed that those alive when Christ returns will not sleep in death. However, they will die. That is clear from the illustration Paul related when he said:Nevertheless, someone will say: ‘How are the dead to be raised up? Yes, with what sort of body are they coming?” You unreasonable person! What you sow is not made alive unless first it dies. And as for what you sow, you sow, not the body that will develop, but just a bare grain, whether of wheat or of some other kind of seed…”‘ – 1 Cor 15:35-37

A seed perfectly illustrates the point. If a seed sprouts and produces a new plant, nothing is left of the original seed. It has died, so to speak. And so those in union with Christ who are living when the presence begins must die in order to be changed. And the change will happen instantaneously—in the blink of an eye. To be sure, though, a body will be “left behind.”

That is the context that leads into what Paul next said in the fifth chapter: “Now as for the times and the seasons, brothers, you need nothing to be written to you. For you yourselves know very well that Jehovah’s day is coming exactly as a thief in the night. Whenever it is that they are saying, “Peace and security!” then sudden destruction is to be instantly on them, just like birth pains on a pregnant woman, and they will by no means escape.” – 1 Thess 5:1-3

Why didn’t those first-century Christians need anything to be written to them concerning the times and seasons for the presence of Christ and the resurrection to begin? Because Jesus had already explained that no one knows the day or hour. The day of Christ’s coming will be sudden and surprising, like the unexpected visitation of a thief in the dark of night. That is why Paul said, “You know very well that Jehovah’s day is coming exactly as a thief in the night.”

They knew because Jesus said so. “But know one thing: If the householder had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have kept awake and not allowed his house to be broken into. On this account, you too prove yourselves ready, because the Son of man is coming at an hour that you do not think to be it.” – Matthew 24:43,44

Now, here is a bit of a problem, at least for Jehovah’s Witnesses. Whereas the NWT may have presciently translated “peace and security,” we cannot say with certainty that Paul originally used the Tetragrammaton in the passage quoted above. The Hebrew Scriptures indeed refer to the day of Jehovah and Jehovah’s day many times. However, Paul and the book of Revelation use the related terms, “the day of the Lord” and “the Lord’s day,” in reference to the coming of Christ the Lord. It is only a problem because the Watchtower has divorced Jehovah’s day from the Lord’s day. The Lord’s day is believed to have begun in 1914, whereas Jehovah’s day is in the future.

Clearly, though, Paul was referring to Christ coming as a thief in the night, even as Jesus also used that very imagery. And since the context has to do with the advent of Christ and his presence, it is most probable that Paul intended the Lord’s day to refer to Jesus. But here is the point: The apostle’s prophecy  connected the presence of Christ and the beginning of the first resurrection with their saying, “peace and security.” If the first resurrection began shortly after 1914, their saying “peace and security” would have had to precede 1914. Since it obviously did not, why is it that Jehovah’s Witnesses believe the presence and the first resurrection have already begun?

Today is January 20th, 2025. It is inauguration day in America. A new era has begun. A phase shift is occurring. The globalists’ initiatives are being rolled back. The borders are being made secure. A peace deal is in place in the Middle East and President Trump’s team is already laying the groundwork for peace talks to begin to bring an end to NATO’s war against Russia. It appears that the populists and patriots are pushing back hard against the Empire’s scheme to destroy the nation-state system and impose a world government.

I use the word “pushing” because that word also has a special meaning for readers of the New World Translation. That is because Daniel 11:40 foretells that the two rival kings of the north and south will engage in a “pushing.” This foretold “pushing” will mark the beginning of the “time of the end.” It will result in the king of the north flooding over many lands with an overwhelming flood that will result in the subjugation of the king of the south. This metaphoric “flood” will be the “sudden destruction” that will occur suddenly “whenever it is they are saying “peace and security.”

Given the trillions and trillions of dollars that have been invested by the imperialists over recent decades to perpetuate their dream of a banker’s global dictatorship—the wars, assassinations, coups and revolutions, the pandemic, censorship, open borders, media propaganda, wokeness, FBI and CIA hijinks, and everything else that is going on to destroy any sense of national identity and statehood, it is unthinkable that the empire will allow the populist-nationalist movement that Donald Trump has spawned to succeed. There will be a response. And it will be overwhelming.
