//Man arrested after disrupting meeting

A former Pennsylvania man remained jailed Monday after his weekend arrest in a disturbance at a church on North Valley Mills Drive.

Police were called about a disturbance at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2308 N. Valley Mills Drive, about 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officers encountered Brian Gerald Oatman, 43, who previously had been asked to leave the church because he was distrupting a meeting, said Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton.

Oatman left, but returned. Police reported he broke into a car, grabbed a tire tool and started breaking car windows and damaging cars.

Elders from the church confronted him and Swanton said he cut one man’s hand with a bottle opener and pushed another to the ground, causing abrasions on his knees.

Police took Oatman into custody, charging him with two counts of aggravated assault, three counts of criminal mischief and burglary of a motor vehicle.

Oatman remained jailed Monday in lieu of bonds totaling $51,000.

Swanton said Oatman has an outstanding warrant in Pennsylvania for a parole violation.

  • Am I Dead Yet?

I actually feel sorry for the guy. No telling what hes been going through mentally and most of all spiritually. This world is enough to drive anyone over the cliff.

maybe he is an anointed, one of the smallest.

34 They shall teach no more every man his neighbor
and every man his brother, saying, “Know the Lord,”
for they all shall know Me,
from the least of them to the greatest of them,
    says the Lord,
for I will forgive their iniquity,
and I will remember their sin no more.

Yes, no doubt. I can’t tell you how many times I have had to restrain myself from taking a tire tool and smashing out the windows in cars parked at the local kingdom hall.

I got back to the UK on Saturday, only took me two days to bump into a witness! Sitting in a coffee shop and was reading from my new grey NWT bible and a man and his daughter noticed me. ‘Studying for tomorrow?’ He says. ‘No, no i’m not a witness’ I reply. I was so happy to see them. We chatted for a bit, mostly about simple things. He made a big few remarks about the website, asked me if I read the magazines, asked about meetings. I told him straight, all I do is read and study my bible. He showed me Matt 24:14 and how this was proof we’re in the end times and how this is the truth and how no-one else is doing the preaching work….I didn’t really have chance to bring out my list of discussion points as he was short of time, all I mentioned was about the prophesying again to nations mentioned in revelation, to which he didn’t really have an answer.

Just lovely people, but Robert I think we (or maybe it’s just I) need some sort of guideline about how we alert Jehovah’s Witnesses when we meet them in the street. Obviously they have a lot of holes in what they believe, and we certainly don’t want to potentially stumble them, so what can we talk about with them just to make them question things?

I think you are on the right track. We all have learned a great deal from Roberts articles. It’s easy to jump around from topic to topic talking to people about what we have learned here on ewatchman. Jws don’t like to listen to anything not from the Watchtower, and will look at you like you have three heads if you talk about 1914 being false. The branch has the reasoning book to help jws in the ministry. Robert, if you could give some suggestions, or an article on how to talk to jws about the real truth. Perhaps some suggestions on the order of topics to talk about that make sense. If you already have done so, just direct me to it. I know I have the tendency to jump around and that may not be the best thing. At some point when the time is right it will be our responsibility to teach jws what’s really going on, or what just happened, so they won’t loose faith in Jehovah and his son. Any help would be great.

I had another JW come to my house on Monday. Very positive conversation. She actually asked me questions such as who I thought the king of the north was, how long the time of the end was, do I think we’re in the time of the end etc but when I compared Luke 21:24 to Revelation 11:2, I think she saw the link. She tried to counteract with the seven times chronology (one eye on bible the other on doctrines as per usual) but that too was dismissed when I showed 2 Peter 1:16 and that led into a transfiguration discussion too and I could just see all the light bulbs flick on in her head.

The difference this time was we just sat there chatting first and got into things very slowly. A little prayer beforehand too! I wasn’t dictating like I have the tendency to do when talking to people about the bible, I was just glad to be back chatting to JWs and the interesting topics you can talk to them about instead of the riffraff trinitarians i have to put up with in China!

I’m pretty sure she’ll be coming back!
