Jehovah Witness rapper signs recording deal

//Jehovah Witness rapper signs recording deal

Sweetwater rapper Stetson “Toonz” Flores has signed a recording contract with The Life Entertainment, a label owned by superstar rapper Krayzie Bone.

Flores, 21, who signed the contract Tuesday, will begin touring with Krayzie Bone on March 31. Bone is promoting his recently released album “Chasing the Devil.”

“I can’t believe it finally happened,” said Flores, who frequently performs in San Angelo. “I never thought I would get very far as long as I lived in a small town like Sweetwater. I always thought I would never get signed unless I moved to a bigger city.”

Flores garnered Bone’s attention after being selected as the opening act for the rapper’s concert in Lubbock on Feb. 22. Flores was asked to open for Bone again when he performed Feb. 24 at San Angelo’s Club Amnesia.

A longtime fan of Bone and his group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Flores said he is “honored” to have been signed by Bone.

“It could be life changing; it already is, being signed to a legend,” Flores said.

Flores was born in Santa Fe and raised in Sweetwater. A Jehovah’s Witness, Flores said some family members initially frowned on his early childhood interest in rap. The talented performer eventually won his family over.

“My mom is my biggest fan now,” Flores said before bursting into a laugh.

Flores and his family were even more pleased to learn that Krayzie Bone, whose music has always included spiritual overtones, is a practicing Jehovah’s Witness.

Although he is excited about this career opportunity, Flores said it will be difficult leaving his two small children behind while he tours. The experience has convinced him that dreams can come true.

“Nothing is impossible; you just have to show people how badly you want it,” Flores said. “My grandmother always told me to be obedient to God and do right, and good things will happen.”

  • Hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha, Jehovah must be proud ! Noe wut I’m sayn cra-cra bone @#$%$#@

    • ewatchman

      Yeah, I hear ya dawg

    • Sam

guys please… i can’t breathe over here lol xD

    • Jonah Peter Paul

just made my day! LOL yo rock men!

      • Thanks, and thanks for having a sense of humor. Unlike some people on here. You rock also, love all your posts !

        • Jonah Peter Paul

So true. we had a good laugh upon reading the first comments here but well occasionally someone would come and ruin the fun. Appreciate your posts and the others’ as well. We look forward to reading them everyday aside from the articles here. So keep it up! 🙂

          • Jonah, the other day you were indignant because you felt that this person was disgracing Jehovah’s name…and now you’re saying you were just having a good laugh.
There’s nothing wrong with having a sense of humor, as long as it’s not at another person’s expense. The Bible admonishes us to pray for our enemies. As Romans 12:17 puts it, “return evil for evil to no one.” Or is your right to have “a good laugh” a higher priority than God’s commands?

            • Jonah Peter Paul

Tara why are you always such an attention seeker? Why can’t you just stick to your so called god inspired website with your grandmother? All you say are criticism. Criticism of Robert, criticism of the website, criticism of the people here. Didn’t your mother even teach you to keep silent if you dont have anything nice to say? You are only showing your bitterness for having been rejected by Robert when you insisted he include you here as a watchwoman or whatever. What you’re saying are all pointless. There is even no use in answering you. I was laughing because of the humor of the other commenters because unlike what you accuse them of, they didnt say nasty or mean words to the “very godly” rapper, rather they found a way to say their piece in a lighter note, with some sense of humor. And obviously he is not my enemy. How can he be my enemy if I haven’t even seen him or conversed with him in person? What I am saying is that I could never call a person like that a “brother” because he obviously does not live up to God’s high standards. Not liking somebody is different from being enemies with him. And clearly, your application of that verse is so flawed. That verse is when someone has done something wrong to another person. The rapper didn’t do me any wrong, (aside from make it hard to explain things to worldly people because of his conduct) primarily their offense are against Jehovah and not me. Do yourself a favor and read a dictionary. Reading the Bible is no use if you do not understand the meaning of the words you’re reading.

            • Beverly kenyon

I always look forward to your comments Tara because I appreciate your deep love for Jehovah and your knowledge of the bible. It really shouldn’t matter how often you post to this site it’s about what you have to say. No one knows what’s happening in your life. You might have a lot to deal with. It’s witnesses like you on this site that I try to learn from because of the bible knowledge you have.

            • Thank you Beverly, there is more going on than what’s being discussed here… If you’re interested in learning more, go to my disqus profile

  • Song of Hannah

Yep, God wants us to ditch the family at home and R-U-N-N-O-T-F to be famous! After all, it’s the BEST LIFE EVER! Geesh this is so sad.

    • ewatchman

I resisted the urge to add my own commentary to the post, knowing I could count on ya’ll to add color to the story. Thanks for not letting me down ( ;~)#

  • show ya rite! lol

  • I thought I seen it all looking at the Jackson family and prince but its always something new isn’t it. its all to easy to lose sight of whats important to Jehovah when people get fortune fame and money stuck in there face but I would like to see money talent and fame save them from jehovah’s wrath. yha lets see them sing there way out of that one.

  • This is sad…all I see is a bunch of people with nothing better to do than to put a complete stranger down for his career choice. Is this persons goals a but skewed? Perhaps, but the fact remains that we don’t know this persons heart. How is the conversation in this comment section any better than when JWs used to judge people as Sheep or goats?

And before anyone says this post is hypocritical, the huge difference is that I’m confronting you directly about it as opposed to posting sardonic comments on a message board you’ll likely never see.

    • ewatchman

No one is putting down the young rapper. What is comment worthy is that Jehovah’s Witnesses as a whole seem to be losing their identity as being no part of the world. Mr. Toonz is just a symptom.

      • Robert, that I can agree on…and it’s only going to get worse.

      • Jonah Peter Paul

Another very obvious point to highlight here is: Why is it that those famous celebrities who are blatantly living questionable lives ACCEPTED in the congregation while those like you, brother Robert whose goal all these years has been to help other Witnesses know the truth and keep their faith in Jehovah and those who accept the truth as well are branded as “mentally diseased apostates?”

I want to personally ask the Governing Body what their standards are in judging and determining who to accept in the congregation and who to brand as apostates.

This is not the first time I was shocked by the extreme hypocrisy that the organization accepts. Not very long ago I posted about this “proud sister” who also happens to be A SEXY STAR, A BOLD STAR or whatever you call a woman posting in sexy playboy magazines is. Aside from that she also promotes liquor and plays very questionable roles in movie and television and yet, SHE IS A SISTER! She posts about Jehovah and the bible regularly on her social media accounts. She is accepted in the congregation. And I’m just like: WOW this is so amazing.

How do I explain this to my child, that people who pose naked on magazines, people who do very questionable things, people who are worshiping the devil (directly and indirectly) are ACCEPTED by the organization and yet I, my husband and my small daughter were all kicked out and ostracized branded as evil enemies of God for simply trying to seek justice and protection from my abusers? ( 3 elders/ bethelites who abused me when I was in my teens and caused my lifelong disabilities)

If anyone who claims to worship the true God wouldn’t see anything wrong in what these people are doing (and the society’s approval of them,) I bet that the only thing that can be said about them is that their conscience are NUMB and their God is definitely not Jehovah.

Witnesses boast of “not being part of this world” when the very clear fact is they are very much part of it now.

Before there were videos made for the youth like the brother who was a runner who decided to quit his career to serve Jehovah. And then there are magazine features here and there about those brothers and sisters who SACRIFICED, THREW AWAY their careers to do the right thing because they know very well that they cannot slave for two masters.

But right now it is as if any Jehovah’s Witness can claim of “living the best life ever” cause everything is allowed now, everything… as long as YOU DO NOT QUESTION THE LEADERSHIP AND TEACHINGS OF THE WATCHTOWER.

Where is the organization’s moral standards?

How do I tell others, our students, my daughter to “not be part of this world” to maintain high moral standards when celebrities, famous people like these are proudly living a double life in the public!

In fairness to Witnesses, many of them have also sacrificed their careers and opportunities in this world, to not be part of this world, to show their loyalty to Jehovah. Many do try to live with high moral standards, bearing in mind that they cannot wear indecent clothes, that their actions should be in accordance with the Bible and with what they teach because they know that whatever their action may be will reflect upon Jehovah himself! And yet how do Witnesses preach when people like that Satan obsessed rapper are making the headlines for proudly being a Jehovah’s Witness while doing all his worldly deeds? What are Witnesses to answer people whom they preach to in the ministry? How do they teach their students to be like Jesus and say no to fame and to the world if the leadership accepts this kind of people? (read some blogs and comments of “worldly people” who are discouraged and stumbled by these celebrities)

The reason I will not doubt to speak about these hypocrites in a heartbeat is because their goal is very very clear to me:

        1. MOCK JEHOVAH- by being very much a part of this world, showing nudity, doing handsigns and wearing clothes, doing things in support of the devil while “claiming to love God and be his servant” when clearly that is not the case

        2. CONDITION THE MIND OF WITNESSES (set a bad example)- that the usual things which were frowned upon before and considered as indecent and inappropriate are now accepted.

        3. STUMBLE WITNESSES- who clearly know that what they are doing are very very WRONG and who will eventually question the organization for tolerating such people and their actions.

        4. GIVE A FALSE WITNESS TO THE WORLD AS TO WHAT JW’s ARE LIKE.

PS: I did not include the indecent pictures of other like Serena Williams as respect to this website and those eyes who may hurt because of her nudity.

      • so true Robert and another point is why put so much emphasis on something so worldly? I cant speak for any one else but the way I feel is after coming to learn and know gods word I have developed a very special love for it and to me there is nothing in this world that can compare to knowing understanding and preaching the living word of god. we all well know that the only thing that really matters is gods word and gods will. there is nothing more beautiful and sacred then the blessed knowledge of Jehovah our god.

    • Jonah Peter Paul

You know what is sad? It’s so sad that you come here Tara every once in a while and all you do is criticize what seems to be beyond your ability to even comprehend. Even if you have no point, just for the sake of making the website and the people here look bad you blabber. Please move on and mind your own business (unless you dont have one). Please accept the fact that this website will never be e-watchmen and e-watchwomen, like you wished it will be.

and goodness, what standards do you have? what i find so wrong and offensive about these famous people living very morally questionable lives is that they have to DRAG the name of the ALMIGHTY JEHOVAH in all of their nonsense. If they want to be a rapper, a model, a celebrity or even a murderer, they can do so for all we care. BUT MY POINT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THAT THEY HAVE BEEN CAUSING PROFANITY in my God’s name and that I cannot turn a blind eye to. If that is the kind of person you would be proud to call a “brother” then I don’t know what kind of god you worship.

There are instances where we could keep our mouth shut, but this is BLATANT SATANISM, BLATANT MOCKERY of Jehovah and I cannot keep my mouth shut when the name of my God is being involved.

People here are not judgemental, IT IS JUST THAT THEY SIMPLY KNOW WHAT’S RIGHT FROM WRONG, UNLIKE YOU.

And for the consideration of all the others here, I attached the album cover and a picture of our so called “brother” His latest album was released late last year and it is entitled: “CHASING THE DEVIL” (I mean is there any judging needed?? Isn’t it too obvious already?)

      • You’re right, there isn’t any judging needed, because not to to what’s this person’s heart… You don’t know what this person has been through in his life, all you see is what’s on the outside, while it is jehovah that sees what is in his heart… Take Paul as an example…he was murdering Christ’s disciples…and I’m sure everyone judged him for what he was doing… But ultimately they judged him saying and it was Jehovah that store in and helped him to see the reality… And, in my opinion, his writing is deeper than all the other apostles precisely BECAUSE of what was in his heart all along. The JWs have a lot wrong, but one thing they got very right recently is they’re retraction of judging people as sheep and goats… And sure there are some JWs who talk about people behind their back…but official policy is to confront a person if they’re doing something wrong rather than talking behind they’re back, especially before having all the information. The point is, if you think this person needs guidance, you should talk to him in private. If you do not have the means to contact him, then you don’t know him well enough to be making that determination and anything you say about him in a message board is simply slander.

        • Jonah Peter Paul

Wow seriously? You compare this rapper to apostle Paul? What kind of Bible do you read? Apostle Paul did all those things “BEFORE HE BECAME A BELIEVER OF CHRIST- NOT AFTER.” Please don’t compare him to a SATANIST!!! Before one is even baptized, they are required to have a review, for the elders to make sure that THIS PERSON KNOWS WHAT’S RIGHT AND WRONG, WHAT IS BIBLICAL AND WHAT IS NOT and yet now it is wrong to say what he is doing is wrong? HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND? LET US NOT QUESTION THOSE WHO BLATANTLY WORSHIP THE DEVIL? I don’t think so. And I am not judging him. Ultimately I won’t bother doing that- Jehovah will handle matters in his own hands. What I am saying is simply speaking with the Bible’s point of view, by that I mean the real Bible, not your kind of Bible.

          • Jonah, after you’ve come to know you still consider baptism by society as the standard for knowing the truth?

            • Jonah Peter Paul

My point which seems so hard for you to understand is that your comparison of apostle Paul to this rapper is FATALLY FLAWED. For the very simple reason that whatever wrong Paul did, he did when he was still Saul- before he became a believer in Christ. But if one person, despite having full knowledge and awareness of God’s laws and the Scriptures does these things, (baptism is the tangible proof that one has already achieved sufficient knowledge in the Bible and baptism- offering ourselves our lives to do the will of God’s and not our own) that is definitely a sin against God

“Therefore, if someone knows how to do what is right and yet does not do it, it is a sin for him.” -James 4:17

            • My last comment hits the point exactly… Even king agrees that the holy city represent the society…saul was no more an apostle of Christ than this person is aware if the real truth, however, both were completely indoctrinated by a system that up until their time had Jehovah’s law… This person being a witness is no different from Saul being a practicing Jew at the time… And both systems, the Jews and the society became corrupt in the exact same way…by hypocrisy

            • Joe Dman

I was watching Prince make mention he was a Jehovah’s Witness during an interview. Instead of being critical as I’ve had the tendency to do in the past, I considered our changing world and how his dress and hair style, although odd to most jw’s, is the norm to many in our younger generation. Some may be receptive to hearing the word from a jw after seeing that interview or hearing that bonz and toonz are witnesses. Who knows.

            • after reading about the research Robert Hamilton has done on this person, he probably does need a little direction, and if he does clean up his lyrics then you’re right, 1Corinthians 9:19-23 would apply.

            • Bklyn Kevin

I hardly think his intentions were to make disciples.
The lyrics in his songs surely can testified to that fact.
Of course on several occasions prince said he will no longer use swearing and cursing in his lyrics and that’s all well and good
but please keep in mind he still has numerous songs on the charts that make him millions and promote worldliness.
Now if Prince was truly a brother and genuine follower of Jesus would he not have remove those songs from the charts?.
Apparently he is servng two masters whether he knows it or not .

        • judging can be just a word that doesnt exactly discribe the thought expressed. Jehovah is the judge but of course we are to use good judgment. see the defference? sometimes we need to think of other words such as observation and opinion. after all, we dont want to judge others as someone who judged when that may not be the case.

    • Tara, i hope the guy does well. i dont mean to hurt anyone. obviously he associates himself with Jehovah in public. lets hope that he doesnt bring reproach. and perhapes Jehovah can somehow make something good out of it for this guy personally.

im not saying this scripture applies but its something to think about…
“Now if anyone has caused sadness, he has saddened, not me, but all of you to an extent—not to be too harsh in what I say. 6 This rebuke given by the majority is sufficient for such a man; 7 now you should instead kindly forgive and comfort him, so that he may not be overwhelmed by excessive sadness. 8 I therefore exhort you to confirm your love for him.”

      • Dead Alien,
That really touched my heart. I hope my post didn’t cause you excessive sadness, or sadness at all, really. I definitely could have chosen better words in my original post…I’m sorry I didn’t. But I think really, these kinds of things separate out humble ones from the haughty.
I think Robert King’s original response to my original post more or less is accurate…and ultimately that’s what all of this is about…building each other up.
Also, the only reason I don’t comment more often on these posts is because I have a lot on my plate myself and it does get me down sometimes…but in general I think there’s a lot of good people on this board, and you are definitely one of them.

    • Stetson Flores Toonz

      thank you

  • Sam

Here’s hoping brother “Toonz” can drop sum sick bars on one of the new songs on the broadcast. Keep it real homie

    • Jonah Peter Paul

wait are you forgetting his friend, “krayzie bone?” he might get offended, you know he is a devout JW too…

  • Ed(the other Ed)

I’m just wondering what kinds of subjects he plans on singing about. In order to keep record sales high enough to stay in the business and in good standing may be difficult. Unless of course…..he pads the elders every once in a while. Just sayin!

  • Joe Dman

Next time I attend a meeting in Sweetwater I’ll have to look for brother Toonz. I can’t rag on him. I mean I could, but I can’t. In case I run in to him there or in Angelo. I’ll have to tell him he really hit the big time by making it on e-watchman.com.
One of my favorite articles of Roberts is “imagining paradise”. I just don’t remember reading anything about if you want to go listen a brother raping , you can do that. Maybe a revision is in order.

  • Robert Hamilton

I looked up this guys music and he curses and uses the N word so Jehovah Witness he is not. As a Fellow Christian rapper, I don’t plan on getting signed because when I do music it’s to expose these lies people are being told and bring light to what Jehovah wants us all to know. Listening to his music, this guy doesn’t even mention God or anything from the word just like other so called Christian rappers the raps are just me me me

In reality they are no better than Judas Iscariot who sold out Jesus for 30 pieces of silver.
Then one of the Twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot went to the chief priests and said: “What will you give me to “betray” him to you?” They stipulated to him 30 silver pieces. Matthew 26:14-16.

It’s a very serious matter to betray righteous blood and a penalty will be inflicted upon such people.
For the Son of man is going away, just as it is written about him, but “woe” to that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.”Mark 14:21.

For he had been numbered among us and he obtained a share in this ministry. This very man, [Judas] therefore, purchased a field with the wages for unrighteousness, and falling headfirst, his body burst open and all his insides spilled out.Acts 1:17-18.

    • Thanks for your insight on this & thanks for not selling out to the dark side.
I also did some research on toonz before injecting my humor on the situation. Over the years I’ve enjoyed some of Destiny’s Lab work on the Bible and Exposing the New World Order.

  • Certainly the danger exists of being seduced by the glitter of the world.

  • James

Let’s see what he raps about and go from there.

  • e.v.g

It is difficult to leave something you want much, it would be a sacrifice if you want to please God, but sometimes we become dull in our hearing and we surpassed the advice of the Bible (1John 2:15,17) in fact if we want to be disciples of Jesus this is a condition (Matt 16:24) although in reality we will not escape the consequences if we make bad decisions.

    • Jonah Peter Paul

I have nothing personal against you or your friend but the next time around you want to do something in your life, I really don’t care as long as you do not drag the Holy name of my God in whatever it is that you are doing.

Almost half of the article revolved around you being “a Jehovah’s Witness”. If you aren’t one and you know that you are indeed doing things such as cursing why would you let the name of God be attached to you in the first place?

Why not tell the writer, “hey excuse me but can you just not include Jehovah’s Witnesses in this, cause you know technically I am not one, and I’m not yet living up to the high moral standards required in that religion so I do not want to cause God and that religion any reproach…”

      According to Mark 9:42 “But
whoever stumbles one of these little ones who have faith, it would be
better for him if a millstone that is turned by a donkey were put around
his neck and he were pitched into the sea.”

This verse is specifically directed for Jehovah’s Witnesses who may do things that might cause stumbling to others, but since you referred to yourself as a Jehovah’s Witness in that public article above, I guess this may also apply to you.

Hey don’t hate me for it, Jesus said that not me so peace to you.

BTW most of my comments are directed to your friend Bone and the other well known ones, not you.

First of all nobody is judging / putting anybody down as you may think , we’re just reiterating what the bible clearly states. So if you want to argue with somebody I guess you will have to bring your case to Jehovah because he is the author and the judgments come from him, “we’re just the messengers as it were” and we’re lovingly taken our time to warn you in advance of Jehovah’s judgments.

      James 4: 4
Adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is making himself an enemy of God.
Now the bottom line is, Jesus clearly stated you cannot slave for two masters, either you will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. You cannot slave for God and for Riches. Matthew 6:24.

Now If you want your ears tickled perhaps you should go to Christendom were they practice the art of tickling ones ears and are masters of deceiving.

JWs are so proud! A rapper? What a joke! The word “rap or rapper” is spelled incorrectly. The proper spelling is CRAP or CRAPPER. The “C” is silent in pronunciation. But this correct spelling gets the point across very well. LOL .. Have a nice day!
