This is a continuation of the series discussing the July 2022 Watchtower.
Paragraph seven lists some of the accomplishments of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. It is truly impressive, astounding really, that Bethel publishes material in over a thousand languages. The study handbook, Enjoy Life Forever, is published in more than 700 languages. That is truly remarkable. No doubt Jesus has directed this great endeavor to acquaint as many people as possible with the Bible’s basic message. It is all the more vital now as we behold the day drawing near. The latter part of paragraph seven states:
People “out of all the languages of the nations” are learning to speak the “pure language” of Bible truth. (Zech. 8:23; Zeph. 3:9) All of this is being accomplished under the capable oversight of Jesus Christ.
When Moses came down from the mountain with the two stone tablets that God had engraved with the Ten Commandments he was shocked to see what the Israelites were doing. Moses’ own brother, Aaron, had fabricated a golden calf that the people were bowing before and praising as their god. They called upon the golden calf to lead them into the promised land. The irony is that the first two commandments God issued explicitly forbade idol worship. No wonder Moses became so enraged that he trashed the tablets God had carved.
Satan is the crafty one. The Devil is well aware of the work being done by the Watchtower. He also knows that humans are quite fallible and can easily be induced to give undue honor to men or their institutions, especially if they are doing an important work of God. The wicked one also knows the Scriptures, even better than any human. Satan proved that when he tempted Jesus in the wilderness quoting from the Psalms with the preface: “for it is written.”
There is no question, at least in my mind, that the demons have “inspired” leading men to interpret the Scriptures in such a way so as to cast the Watchtower Society as the embodiment of the Kingdom of God so as to promote a subtle form of idolatry. Do not Jehovah’s Witnesses look to the Watchtower and its Governing Body to provide “life-saving instructions” at the critical hour and lead them into the promised new world? And where is Jesus in that process? Is Christ just tag-along mascot now or is he capable of speaking for himself?
Bethel’s true source of “inspiration” is on display in the paragraph cited above. Take Zephaniah for example. Simply read the verse in context and any clear-thinking person can see for themselves that Jehovah’s Witnesses could not possibly be fulfilling the prophecy—at least not in the way the Governing Body would have you believe. In context, God is denouncing his organization. The first five verses of the third chapter read as follows:
“Woe to the rebellious, the polluted, the oppressive city! She has obeyed no voice; she has accepted no discipline. In Jehovah she has not trusted; she has not drawn near to her God. Her princes within her are roaring lions. Her judges are wolves in the night; they do not leave even a bone to gnaw until morning. Her prophets are insolent, treacherous men. Her priests defile what is holy; they do violence to the law. Jehovah is righteous in her midst; he does no wrong. Morning by morning he makes known his judgments, as unfailing as the daylight. But the unrighteous one knows no shame.”
The article under consideration lays emphasis on Jesus directing the organization. Zephaniah confirms this by revealing Jehovah to be in her midst, that is to say, in the midst of the leadership of “Jerusalem.”
Jehovah’s Witnesses realize that the prophecy of Zephaniah only superficially applies to ancient Jerusalem. It is, however, no insignificant detail that Jehovah is said to have placed his name upon the city. Zephaniah is, as stated in the second chapter and often quoted by Jehovah’s Witnesses, a vision of the expression of Jehovah’s anger, globally. Hence: “Before the decree takes effect, before the day passes by like chaff, before the burning anger of Jehovah comes upon you, before the day of Jehovah’s anger comes upon you, seek Jehovah, all you meek ones of the earth, who observe his righteous decrees. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably you will be concealed on the day of Jehovah’s anger.” —Zeph. 2:2-3
Jerusalem in prophecy, as I have pointed out many times, represents Christ’s congregation in the time of the end. Jerusalem was where Christianity began when the 120 gathered in an upper room were anointed. So, the point is, Jehovah being in the midst of Jerusalem is in harmony with what the Watchtower is saying; namely, that Jesus has been accomplishing his work. And it is all the more amazing given the fact that treacherous, rapacious men who know no shame are among the priests and prophets.
So what if the Watchtower publishes literature in a thousand languages if it protects child abusers from prosecution and persecutes their thousands of victims? So what if the Watchtower dedicates facilities to the exclusive use of Jehovah God if they violate what is holy by flipping Kingdom Halls like common real estate? Like evening wolves on the prowl, the Watchtower has treacherously sold Jehovah’s lambs to the slaughter, claiming that for the sake of Christian unity and oneness everyone must submit to the World Health Organization’s experimental mRNA injections. Already untold numbers of Jehovah’s Witnesses have been injured and died from following the advice of the Governing Body. It is quite possible that many more will perish in the future. It is true, the unrighteous one knows no shame.
As an example of the treachery and insolence of her prophets the third chapter goes on to reveal when the change to a pure language will come about: “‘So keep yourselves in expectation of me,’ declares Jehovah, ‘until the day when I rise up to take plunder, for my judicial decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out on them my indignation, all my burning anger; for by the fire of my zeal the whole earth will be consumed. For then I will change the language of the peoples to a pure language, so that all of them may call on the name of Jehovah, to serve him shoulder to shoulder.’”
Let the haughty prophets explain how Jehovah has poured out his indignation on the nations and how the whole earth has been consumed by Jehovah’s burning rage. Maybe we missed it. Perhaps something happened back in 1914 that we are not aware of? Or could it be that the now looming global conflagration will be an expression of Jehovah’s indignation?
To be sure God’s words spoken through Zephaniah do not bode well for certain men who boast of being faithful and discreet, who obscenely brag of their having established pure worship and the pure language of truth! Yes, too bad for them: “For then I will remove the haughty boasters from among you; and you will never again be haughty in my holy mountain.” — Zeph 3:11b
