Episode #74

//Episode #74

This episode considers listener’s questions, is the “organization” a legitimate, scriptural arrangement? Why did angels develop sexual passion for women? Could the Watchtower’s NGO status in Russia be the reason they are coming under ban now? And more. Plus a special musical bonus track!

DJ King! So nice to hear your voice. I can vouch that yes you are making a dent in the 1914 operation of error and your painstaking work has made a difference in my life. Thank you for your service and your hard work. I appreciate your “ministry.”

2016 has been a most unusual year for me (and probably many other here too!) I personally mark the year 2016 as the year Jehovah answered my pleas for understanding and helped me “make the truth my own” with the help of several special people (here!) who are so dear to me and I await the time when I can thank them face to face.

This was a good podcast, but I am left feeling out-of-sorts again. How can the Watchtower strengthen our faith when it has promoted a lie? How can the Watchtower prepare us when they themselves are not prepared? How can the Watchtower feed us truth when we have to come to this site with our spiritual brothers and sisters and with Robert’s help and insights to get the real spiritual truth? How does Jesus refine his people? Through faith in a deception? I am distressed about this. What other alternatives do we have? Stay home and read the bible? YES, YES, YES. Speaking just for myself, being raised in the “truth” It was always presented as “fear based” better do what the Organization says…. you will die at Armageddon. I spent a good part of my growing up… “starving at the meetings” and being required to just believe what they told you to believe. It was when I found Robert’s site that I truly began to love Jehovah and Jesus. How would I return to the spiritual starving taking place at the Hall and continue to remain silent about all the things we have learned here? In this situation I would feel like I have no personal integrity. Depressing. How does associating with the spiritually blind sharpen our vision? The real problem for me is…… since the blind think they have crystal clear vision……. they are on a mission to “snatch you from the fire” and they persist in calling you blind and accusing you of being an apostate. I can’t immerse myself in all this Kingdom Drama! I want to Love Jehovah and Jesus. I can’t use all my energy to try and fit in with the congregation and just sit through another meeting and listen to them pound 1914 into ones head. It takes too much out of me and I get very depressed. Being here on this site with all of my brothers and sisters encourages me and it is refreshing to discuss spiritual things with others who ” get it ” Guess I’ll stay home and continue to read my Bible.

They can’t, once the scales were removed from your eyes there’s no going back for some of us. Especially if we came from a mentally abusive KH. Welcome to my life, I’ve learned to cope and make the best of It! Personal study, association with your virtual congregation, lots of prying and keeping busy with work. And Let’s not forget online witnessing! Hang in there Jehovah knows your struggle. Continue to learn here and on your own for a greater future assignment from your saviour Jesus Christ! Don’t beat yourself up, Jehovah provided this spiritual banquet for people like us to find inner peace.
      Much love ❤❤

Thank you Joseph, I am also Kingdom Hall free and will continue that way. Prayer, Bible reading and our virtual congregation here is very encouraging!

Because what we should realize that for all the errors made by WT, we know and have the simple truths of God, Jesus, and the Kingdom.

And recognize that we are responsible for our own faith not anyone else. So no matter what comes, our faith is what will get us through.

We need reminders because all the knowledge in the world, even from this site, will not make an ounce of difference unless we maintain and continue to build up our own faith.

God still has a household on earth.

      • Lisa-Lisa

Thank you for your thoughts and encouragement.

      • Peaceful Waters

You are absolutely right LW. I learned the “Truth” through the WT. For that I will forever be grateful. There is still so much good. It’s just hard to accept sometimes that they lead us to greener pastures and simultaneously set out snares for us. It makes my heart sad. They need our prayers more than ever, but what more could we expect from this time of the end really.

      • Thinking

I agree with this so much….it’s so easy to disregard the wheat when we are hurting…because of bad shepards…….it’s not good to isolate oneself …because ..others are hurting in the cong too….we need each other ..to support us thru to the end……the Angels will bundle up the weeds soon….
satan doesn’t care how we seperate from Gods imperfect household….
As long as we distance ourselves from it he’s happy…..his job has been achieved …he deludes so many into thinking because we know what we know it’s okay….when it’s not….nowhere in the scriptures does he advice this…
It’s very sad..as so many have walked away from the wheat that will soon shine ..
It’s very easy to stay at home and read your bible and pray…what’s hard about that….is it showing concern for those who are honest hearted brothers and sisters….Is it showing brotherly or sisterly love for the wheat still there.
No annoited or invited one has it all right….Jehovah DREW us all to his household……don’t Undo that by leaving….soon he will rescue us….hang in there brothers and sisters if at all possible….take our releif by realising we are no longer under the heavy yoke of guilt laid on us….but indeed are freed of that..and let us grow to a new spiritual maturity…and be refined …He hasn’t ended this system of worship yet…..so please stick with it as much as possible until he does…..we can now work with in this system of worship without all the guilt ……we can really serve with the heart now…..at a pace that we can truly cope with………….he may have something in store for us that may surprise us all…who really knows…..

        • LW

As to your last statement you’re absolutely right:

Therefore, do not judge anything before the due time, until the Lord comes. He will bring the secret things of darkness to light and make known the intentions of the hearts, and then each one will receive his praise from God.

Or as the Message Bible so eloquently puts it: “Don’t get ahead of the Master and jump to conclusions with your judgments before all the evidence is in. When he comes, he will bring out in the open and place in evidence all kinds of things we never even dreamed of.”

          1 Corinthians 4:5

          • Thinking

Yeah I really like the message bible ….?

        • Cocheta

maybe you can answer this puzzle I have then, Sis Thinking, if satan is pulling the strings within the society why is he also trying to get people to remove themselves from the congregations? Surely it is better if he keeps everyone under the same roof, as it were.
I will look for your answer tomorrow, it’s almost midnight & I have a date with my pillow 🙂

          • Thinking

I don’t think Satan is pulling the strings …we have a judas like infiltration for sure. ..yet the shepards have to take the blame for their own blindness and being bad…or excessive pride and lack of love.
They cannot blame everything on Satan ..nor can we…Jehovah is still running or using his household….the preaching work has to be done and the annoited has to be gathered in….and his Name has to be known…..sheep have to be gathered in….His appointed time has not been reached.
Why would Jehovah draw some one to a house that was being run by Satan?…or allowing him to pull the strings with in that household .

That’s why the org exists ..or his house exists ….Jehovah is trying to hold on to as many in his house as he can…..the reason why it is so very hard is because we are nearly at the end…and he’s trying to get everybody to only look at the weeds…some seem to be tested a lot more than others.
Sis…we are being refined with fire….he is trying to break us to leave….
I don’t care what anybody here says…..but the wheat does speak out….they are not completely strangled by the weeds..
And the thing is…jehovahs is using the weeds as well…..
You may need to find another cong…mine was hell for two decades…now it’s lovely..and easier to bear….I’m so glad I stuck with it and came back…but when I came back it was still hell…
Actually sometimes these pages can be very depressing ..as all you here about is the negativity and the weeds….I have to leave for awhile and fill my tank up on the wheat….I’ve got to live to fight another day sis….so do you..
I probably haven’t helped you much sis..but know there are lots of us who struggle ….but we have a bigger struggle ahead of us soon to come….so consider this as boot camp??and on a personal level…for me it’s patience …..big hug sis

            • KB

With all due respect I believe Satan is pulling strings at the branch.

2Th 2:9 But the lawless one’s presence is by the operation of Satan with every powerful work and lying signs and wonders.

IMO the lawless one is the Watchtower.

Re 12:9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.

Do not underestimate the power of Satan. The scriptures say he is misleading the entire inhabited earth. The governing body is not immune to the influence of Satan.

            • Thinking

KB I don’t underestimate Satans power….but then it wouldn’t be Jehovahs house would it …..Jehovah is much stronger than Satan..and he chooses to allow these things……just as he allowed Job to be tested so he allows us to be by the operation of error…he has infiltrated the org ….the example of Judas shows us that……Yes there is a judas element…and yes I suppose he is pulling SOME strings……especially where the purse is concerned…just as Judas did?.( there’s got to be more to that point that we can see at the moment I think ) ….so perhaps I should have said…yes he is pulling strings..but not to the point that goes beyond what Jehovah is allowing…..is that acceptable to you? ??

            • KB

              Yes I agree.

            • Cocheta

not possible for me to go to another KH, Sis, the only other one is in the north of the island, well over an hour of a drive away unless I go to the Spanish cong here of course, but they are not much friendlier. Very materialistic the people here & cliquey, unless of course you are a married sister – they don’t like odd numbers at get togethers (if there are any of course!)

            • ELiJAHx7

“Where 2 or more are gathered”…..(You know the rest)

            • Southern ShaSha

Dear Cocheta, if you don’t mind my opinion on the matter, to return or not!! I hope and feel that JEHOVAH wishes all to serve and praise Him with a genuine, happy heart, to praise him, without animosity and distractions! He tells us He is a happy God, a true God of Love. To place oneself in a position of demanding societal pressure, how do we achieve the qualities to serve out of pure and good motives. I am now in a position of truly loving worship to Him as never before. I have such a love to learn, to dedicate my time in doing all I can, to the best of my ability. Instead of preparing my scheduled worship, looking only at what the organization requires we do, I have the opportunity to grow a deep personal relationship with both He and JESUS. Unlimited time and opportunity to share the glorious Kingdom Message with all sorts of people, to feel a one on one relationship with our Heavenly Father, along with the one, JESUS who has opened the door to us all an there be any wrong in that? I so respect all the brothers and sisters who can manage to do it all. I know someone made a comment, meaning well, the easy way is to sit home and read the bible. And that may be the case for some, but with the meeting together here, having dear friends to share, discuss and be a real loving and caring congregation, fulfills for me the opportunity to praise and adore our Heavenly Father with others who put Him first each and everyday. I joyfully commit ten fold my time to the praise and worship of JEHOVAH and His son than I ever spent in meeting attendance. How we do that is of course very personal. To be guilted does not allow me this precious time!!!! Sharing with others is a wonderful thing, but in the end we are all on our own in the face of God!

            • Arvid Fløysand

So true…i also wonder how Jesus would comment this…maybe something like in Mark 9:38-40? (that episode when john tried to stop som from healing in Jesu name because he was not with/among them )

            • Cocheta

I don’t mind in the least, my dearest SS, in fact I love to hear others opinions especially when they are as beautifully thought out & presented as yours was 🙂

    • Anderiega

I 100% hear you and get you. That’s why some of us “here” still do go to meetings, and some don’t. Everybody is in process, and for some, it’s just intolerable. I don’t think you ever need to apologise for “staying home and reading your Bible.” Jehovah is a happy God and I doubt He takes delight in seeing honest hearted ones suffering at a Kingdom Hall. Hopefully I’m not totally off base by comparing it to people with severe chemical allergies. Many have to just stay at home.

But “with God (and love) all things are possible.” I feel a lot less guilt and fear in my life and my relationship with Jehovah. But I still try (really really hard sometimes!!) to push myself to the meetings because maybe just maybe I can plant a seed and at the very least show Jehovah that I’m doing my best. Often my best IS staying home….And I’m OK with that too.

      • Lisa-Lisa

Thank you for getting it ! I have spent a lifetime in the F-O-G of the of the Watchtower! I was a born-in, controlled, shamed, ignored, lied about, isolated, shunned ! You name it….. I’ve been there! One pivotal event was when I was shamed and coerced into baptism only to find out years later, the elders(3) of them had lied and claimed they never went over the questions with me so my baptism was not officially recognized! I was never given a publishers card or regarded a JW. Then an occasion came up in which I was to be disciplined , When the committee became aware of their own goof…. I was not acknowledged as a JW, then they all had a sudden lapse in selective amnesia and “remembered” I was baptized so NOW they could bring me in and “make an example out of me”. I challenged them on their lie and told them I would never sit through kangaroo court ever again! They were told by the circuit overseer to “take care of this NOW” … end of story, never disfellowshipped, no apology, no publishers card to this day, When I had my first child, I was told by 2 elders that Jehovah would never look on that baby as anything other than …..”the result of my sin” and a “product of my evil, knowing immorality” Sorry for getting off-topic……. sometimes ones heart is filled with an over-flow of tears and when it gets too much …..it floods! Staying home and just reading my bible and praying IS the very best I can give Jehovah! I will remain KH FREE !

        • the scripture doesnt say you need to go over questions with elders anyway. its just a symbolic sign for public display that your devotion to Jehovah is already the case before you even got dunked.

when i got baptized it was disgusting and not much sacred attention was given about it at all. rushed in and then out to beat the clock and with a paparazzi. it was complete bs Jehovah as my witness.

        • Joseph Stephan
        • L.H.

Actually you are in a very vulnerable position. First because you were victimized by them, and now that you are a mother . And I begg you; please, consider this child as a gift and inheritance from Jehovah .In the country (in Europe) where I live, we can (literally) refuse an inheritance if it are only Depts. And I think Jehovah doesn’t want you to be toiled down anymore. For you its clear wat they have offered and caused you.
The way they handeled your case is not Christian. Jesus died for our sins, and if we repent,we should be asured we can reset and start over again. It is offensive to Jehovah and Jesus Christ to put so much guilt on a person, because they make the ransom of Jesus worthless. If they would only be a little bit like Jesus, they would offer you support in the upbringing with your precious child, and should welcome it. (Although you’re better of with no one to “support” you, because there are predators enough who pry upon children ).

Maybe you can consider it lik this: You have had your way in life , and all the things that happened, and still happening, Jehovah is showing you his will for you. Sometimes our concience together with the bible is telling us what we do wrong, so we need to improve.
Other things are a Big Red Flag and we need to bring ourselves and our loved ones in safety. For myself I consider my home and little family as my kingdomhall. We also were requiered from our personal situation to stay away from very satanic persons. And like other brothers and sisters on this site I feel His spirit more at home than in the kingdomhall. We can bring ourselves to mind that we can be a reflection from Jehovah to our children, and that a very close relationship with Him, shows them the way to Him. Jehovah want to draw your child very close to him, and you can be the instrument to make it easier, and so becoming a coworker with Jehovah.

There is a scripture,I cant remember were to find it, but it tells that Jehovah and Jesus should care for the suckling ones.(hope I choose the right translation).
So let Them be your guide, without anybody interfere. (With or without going to the kingdomhall) And dont let feelings of guilt come in between Jehovah and you. Dont doubt the worth of Jesus ransom, and the will to support you, free you and take care of you. I wish you all te strength and love you need.

          • Lisa-Lisa

Dear LH, Thank you for your good insights. I just want to make a slight clarification…… when I related this story , which is still very painful to me….. this was some years ago. My first child is now a young adult! Your sentence about ” I consider my home and little family as my kingdom hall” brought a smile to my face! You said “I feel his spirit more at home than in the KH”. You took my feelings and put it into words! Thank you so much for the comfort! Our brothers and sisters are truly a blessing from Jehovah!

        • Burt Reynolds

Don’t feel alone. I lost four children and a wife, my home and my social standing and my job and then my health. I was vilified, isolated, threatened with disfellowshipping unless I admitted to something I had not done. And I was an MS in good standing who went home early one day, unexpectedly. My wife was thrown out for adultery, took the children with her. They, all four, spent the rest of thier childhood being abused by a paedophile she befriended after she left. The witnesses at the hall, and the watchtower crushed my family out of existence and I am the sole survivor still in the truth, not in the hall. My then wife was crushed, so she sought a way out and found it. My children are scarred for life. That is the pressure that can be applied by the watchtower and their rancid love. Yet I still say I may go back because there are others their like me who will not let go and who know the truth, but cannot yet see it, who sense it, but cannot feel it, taste it, but do not know what it is they are eating. The paradox of the watchtower fractures my thinking and makes me mad with indecision so that I feel I will collapse under the weight of it. Jehovah knows. I rely on his mercy, but I do not expect it either. All of the paradox is a contradiction of such inhuman strength and tenacity that we can only pray, hope in faith, and stand by the bible, which in itself remains a constant that over rides opinion.

          • Cocheta

            Oh, Burt!!!!!!!

          • Thinking

Oh Burt,,,I met someone who had been serverly sexually abused by her MS father for many many years and not believed …..sometimes ones are so badly broken..that only Jehovah can bring them Back….you are a modern day Job.. like one….
The power of abuse truly is sickening…I lost my son to death to such power …..biggest hugs to you my brother xx

          • Joseph Stephan
          • Southern ShaSha

Dear Burt, you share your love for JEHOVAH and yourself with all. The very quality He is looking for. When I personally have been down, you have shown the love to search a little deeper into the love and patience of JEHOVAH. Must thank you for all you give!!! You have been such a witness to all!

            • Cocheta

I share those emotions about Burt too, ShaSha

          • Lisa-Lisa

Burt, you are a kindred friend! Thank you so much for sharing that with us. You are a strong person with a great faith and determination! My heart goes out to you! What a good example you have set for us to keep moving forward and rely on Jehovah to help get us through!

          • sally

Oh my goodness Burt, that is such a shocking story. And there I was feeling sorry for me 🙁 The fact that you have even after such horrors not left Jehovah is exemplary, yes you have left the hall, (I don’t blame you) but you never left your faith, and never blamed God. So many sadly do, become bitter and twisted and turn apostate. You are truly a man of good example and many people (myself included) learn so much from you, I know I learn more from one of your posts than I ever do in two hours at the Kingdom Hall. Don’t weigh yourself down with anymore than you have to Burt because you have more love in your little finger than a good deal of JW’s do in their whole bodies. And didn’t Jesus say love was the most important thing.

          • Arvid Fløysand

My heart goes out to you my brother..may Jehova bless you as he did to Job..i know this is only words written to you from a “crazy”norwegian ,but for now this is the best i can do to let you know about my empathy ..brotherly affection from Arvid

            • Beverly kenyon

Arvid, you’re such a loving Brother….so gentle and humble and you had me reaching for my bible to look up that Malachi scripture which was a fabulous reminder!

            • Arvid Fløysand

wonderful to “see” you :-)…if Jehova can find me worthy to enter the new world..then i will go out searching for you and all the fine sisters and good brothers on this site…there will be plenty of big bear-hugs from this Norwegian..

            • Beverly kenyon

Thank you Arvid…that’s if I don’t come looking for you first! Lol. But only if I’m allowed into a Jehovahs new world…I don’t take it for granted but I’m doing my hardest to be allowed!

          • KB

Burt, I’m very sorry that you had to deal with those issues. I’m glad you were able to pick yourself up by the bootstraps and move on, many would not. You are truly an amazing man, and we are all glad you are here. What a source you are for encouragement.

          • Anderiega

I wish I could give you a real hug Burt. You’ve personally helped me so much with your words. I’m so sorry for everything and your children. ?

          • your faith is up lifting to me brother and many others I am sure. you have gone through spiritual tribulation and yet you cling to your faith you are at this wicked worlds mercy and yet you stand by truth and you remember his will. I commend you on your good will and your endurance brother and I personally know and understand in my limited mind the undeserved love mercy and kindness that Jehovah has for us so no matter what trials and tribulations we may all go through we all need to keep his word in our hearts and minds.

            John 16:7
Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the helper will not come to you; but if I do go, I will send him to you.

            John 14:26
But the helper, the holy spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach you all things and bring back to your minds all the things I told you.

            Matthew 6:33
“Keep on, then, seeking first the Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these other things will be added to you.

            1 John 3:1
3 See what sort of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are. That is why the world does not know us, because it has not come to know him.

        • Observing Quietly

Hi LIsa-Lisa, thank you for sharing your story. I could not help but wonder what those men would have said when they learned that Mary was a single mother. Sounds like they would have condemned Jesus as well and we all know how that ended for them. So take heart, your child is a gift from Jehovah, Bless your heart for keeping your baby and knowing in your heart that those men are NOT from Jehovah and think of their words as being empty hot air. Hugs to you!

    • Peaceful Waters

Exactly! It’s the same for me. I find it extremely difficult and very depressing. Everything has changed for me meeting, service, Bible studies. I know Jehovah will take care of things. It’s not a matter of being impatient and not relying on him, it’s simply a matter of personal integrity and how much one can take. Jehovah made us all beautifully different, and for myself I am emotional, passionate, zealous and wear my heart on my sleeve. This makes having to be constantly enslaved by their indoctrination and whips of submission like a death sentence. I’ve tried to be discreet and keep what I know inside, and it tears me apart, it’s just nauseating and intolerable. It’s not how Jehovah made me. I know I’m imperfect, and I pray for humility, understanding, and refinement constantly. To continue trying to “fit in” as you put it, just breaks my heart, it’s soul crushing. I think everyone has to make their own choices based on their faith, and what will best help them to continue to strengthen and grow. I would love to be able to continue to just go about everything as usual and I applaud those who have the ability to do so. I cannot thank Robert and all of the brothers and sisters enough for providing an outlet and true spiritual play ground. I know Jehovah will help each of us in our efforts to serve him faithfully. As for me and my family we will continue to serve Jehovah… even if that means at home with our Bibles and using all the other wonderful tools available 😉

      • Lisa-Lisa

Thank you for those words! I know Jehovah will take care of all things also but as you stated….” having to be constantly enslaved by their indoctrination….. like a death sentence” Yes I agree with you, it is soul crushing. Robert has provided us with such wonderful information. It is a comfort to realize that there are brothers and sisters that struggle with the same issues and really do understand. Thank you for your compassion. With Jehovah’s help we can get through this.

Hi Lisa-Lisa, I had to read your comments out to my hubby and both of us agree with you. We read our Bible together and discuss what it tells us in the light of Robert’s interpretations. It is amazing how correct he is. Jehovah is watching and listening. But like you, when we listened to this particular pod cast, it left us confused and frustrated. We both feel that staying inside the KH is akin to staying inside Jerusalem prior to her destruction would have been. They could see the encamped armies, they knew war was coming and yet many refused to follow Jesus words and flee to the mountains. Others tried to talk the ones who wanted to flee into staying, because after all, it was Jehovah’s city, it was Jehovah’s people, it was Jehovah’s temple and so on. So hubby and I decided to do what you have done. We have left the KH and we study and read God’s word in some part every day. We, too, felt it was a matter of integrity to Jehovah and Jesus to support TRUTH by removing ourselves from their undue influence. Now we want to encourage others who have fled the “city” to remain faithful to Jehovah and Jesus and just wait a little while longer. Keep reading your Bible. Worldwide events are escalating and it feels like things are coming to a rapid head. Jehovah told us he would speed things up and it sure feels that way. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that many here agree with you and each of us have our own reasons for doing what we do, staying in the KH or leaving the KH. Just wanted to share our reasons.

Jesus foretold that there would be wars, food shortages, disease epidemics and great earthquakes, but that would just be the beginning. Then Christians will be persecuted and handed over to authorities and some even put to death. During that bleak time Jesus said “when you catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken about by Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place (let the reader use discernment), then let those in Judea begin fleeing to the mountains.”

Just to be clear, the appearance of a disgusting thing takes place after all of the above.

        • Kevin b

So the phrase “when you catch sight” means when it’s apparent to the rank and file JWs that the Watchtower ( “the disgusting thing that causes desolation “) is not being as holy as one once thought and are actually an anti christ. At that time we need to leave the interior rooms of the Kingdom Hall and rely on Jesus and Jehovahs saving power. And this will occur after the actual great tribulation begins in the future. I can only imagine the utter confusion the brothers and sisters will be in at this time. Their trusted organization that can do no wrong, and backed by Jehovah in their eyes, will be the last thing you should trust. A grim time indeed, Amos 5:18 Woe to those who yearn for the day of Jehovah! What, then, will the day of Jehovah mean for you?It will be darkness, and not light. 19 It will be like a man who flees from a lion and is confronted by a bear,And when he enters his house and leans his hand against the wall, a snake bites him. 20 Will not the day of Jehovah be darkness, and not light; Will it not have gloom, and not brightness?

          May Jehovah help us all!

          • Thinking

But he says to go into the interior rooms until the denunciation passes over….or have I got that wrong…..where does he say to leave them???
I’m never really certain that the interior rooms are the cong anyway…not sure on it…???….so many questions still….?….

            • Whiteroom

Dear Thinking, I thought I posted this a day or two ago, but my apologies for referring to you as he, no excuses, but force of habit. As regards your follow up: Thinking is a sis….and I didn’t call it Gods house …..
You did not call it that, I did. I tried to make my remarks as generic as possible so that I was referring to no one in particular, including your good self. My apologies for any misunderstanding.

With regards to your question on “Interior rooms”, where do the scriptures infer that means being in the WT organisation??????

Where did the Israelites go, just prior to leaving Egypt? They went into their own “INTERIOR ROOMS” (capitals for emphasis) and celebrated the passover, and a great crowd not belonging to the nation of Israel went with them. Doesn’t that tell you something in principle?

            • Thinking

Thanks Brother…..hey you can call me what ever you like…I get called a few things..lol…
Yes I’ve been thinking along those same lines as you for many years …but had no scriptural back up for it…only what I call common sense and as you say…the Isralites went into their homes ….it’s a pattern..
We got taught that it represented the congs ….not the org….?

            • Thinking

The great crowd that went with them now seems to represent the great crowd of today……….The Isralites the annoited….a few invited ones on the net think the same too…

        • Bklyn Kevin

          Scriptures for thought.

          Matthew 24:8.
All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress

“just like birth pains on a pregnant woman, and they will by no means escape.
          .Thessalonians 5:3-B.

Then in Daniel 9:27 It says
          “he will keep the covenant in force for the many for one week;
and at the (half of the week,) he will cause sacrifice and gift offering to cease. “And on the wing of disgusting things there will be the one causing desolation; and until an extermination, what was decided on will be poured out also on the one lying desolate.”

        • Observing Quietly

I agree with what you say here ewatchman, but also see the point that all of those faithful knew the disgusting thing was coming, they could see it (Roman armies not yet inside the city) and not all of them waited until the last moment to flee. Nothing in that scripture states that you MUST wait until it is standing in the holy place, in fact it says to use ones own discernment. I recall a district convention not too many years ago where they depicted the ones fleeing and showed that in reality, they only had about 3 days to get out. Many had left before the disgusting thing was on their doorstep and were able to help others by providing shelter in the mountains. We all can see this disgusting thing coming and we, hubby and I, chose not to wait till the last moment to get out. Others make different decisions and that’s what free will is all about. Some stay until the last moment, hoping they can jump ship in time, others leave now and stay close in the surrounding hills to offer help and support when needed. Either way, no one is untouched by the destruction that comes.

          • Cocheta

Actually, I agree with you there, OQ & I also just read the Scripture that Bro Kevin quoted in Thess 5:3-B – just like birth pains on a pregnant woman – if we are to think things this way we must realise that birth/pregnancy can be extremely short or excruciatingly long. For an example my own daughter was 2 months premature & in dangerous condition, so I couldn’t wait around, it was an emergency section or………
So, if we dally too long it could cost our lives. I also like your point about staying close in the surrounding hills & keeping our eye on things. I think I might prefer to be in the surrounding hills than in the congregation too long, we are all being tainted & a lot are badly treated there. In my own case I don’t want to go back now after the elders visits & their ‘promises’ that I won’t be ‘in trouble’ if I just take another Bible Study & stop reading this site! Strangely enough I haven’t heard a word from them in over 4 weeks since I refused to let them visit me again. Some shepherds they turned out to be! The KH is not a welcoming place if your face doesn’t fit & I always feel I am being pushed down into Gehenna whilst I’m there. My only problem is that I still believe it is Jehovah’s ‘tent’ & I feel I am letting Him down by staying away. I just don’t know what to do to be perfectly honest. I feel my mind is made up not to go back & then Sis Thinking comes onsite giving reasons why we should go back.

            • KB

What works best for one person doesn’t always work for someone else. Each hall is different. As sis thinking has mentioned before, she has a great hall. You on the other hand may not. Once you stand your ground to them, they tend back off. Thats what it sounds like has happened in your situation. The Kingdom Hall is Jehovahs tent, but the elders do what they want. Some are good some are bad. Acts 20: 28 Pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the holy spirit has appointed you overseers, to shepherd the congregation of God, which he purchased with the blood of his own Son. 29 I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness, 30 and from among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.

            • ELiJAHx7

After I presented the elders with the questions that they could not answer (truthfully) about watchtower doctrine, I have heard nothing but the sound of crickets, prior to that, I was visited with the smiling happy faces and brotherly love…At the KH I felt like a spiritual leper, the elders wouldn’t touch me…It is as I told them, “I am sorry”, because I felt like I was bringing upon them a weighty judgement and they were oblivious to it..and, in truth, thats what the leadership of Jehovah’s people will have to contend with by “oppressing the poor one, even when he speaks the truth”…I attend occasionally, I am almost just waiting, hoping for the chance to help when it all comes crashing down…I too feel the same as what you stated…We must not give up on our brothers and sisters…Jehovah has blessed us who have not given up, I believe that

            • KB

The elder mentally must be across the board. I too only hear crickets. They avoid me like the plague. I’m over it. Each meeting i go to, it takes me about 4 hours to get out of my funk from the lies that are dispersed like they are words of wisdom from Jehovah himself. Its not gonna change until the Watchtower is done.

            • ELiJAHx7

Yeah, I completely understand… imagine how Jehovah must feel about his adulterous people who keep on chasing after the lie….Heartbreaking

            • amen

            • Thinking

That’s why it’s best not to say anything….nobody will change anything….this is what we all have to realise …..just let it all play out as was fortold…..be there for ones who are doubting or hurting……none of us have it all right anyway …we have been shown a drop for our own benefit…to keep us going…..we won’t know the full story till it plays out….don’t bring anymore calamity on your head my brother …we have to last the distance….hang in their bother ??..

            • except for the time someone did say something and those with ears listened. im greatful for two who spoke up, the second being Robert

            • ELiJAHx7

I have this condition that is called .. “speaking truth even if people do not want to hear it”.. and I haven’t been able to find a cure…maybe its incurable and my condition is not the problem, its the people who hate to hear the truth…Idk

            • Arvid Fløysand

Dear brother..i feel like a spiritual leper too..maybe we all are spiritual lepers on this site..if you like to..please take a look at 2 king cap.7.Why do you think Jehova chose to use those 4 leper men to bring good news?..they were outside the city, but still Jehova used these 4 men to save the whole city..there is plenty of paralells but i leave it to you to see for your self 🙂

            • ELiJAHx7

              Thank you for your encouragement!

            • Cocheta

agree with every word you say there, Elijah

            • Thinking

You must make up your own mind sis….I’m glad I did..and at the time my cong was hell..but it trained me…as painful as that training was….
Sis thinking doesn’t mind admitting she is getting very tired of trying to encourage ones to go back …..

          • ewatchman

If I were you I’d come up with a better reason than that. It sounds a little crazy.

            • Observing Quietly

Which part, Robert is crazy? You talk lots about Jeremiah and the destruction he warned of, but I am referring to Jesus and the destruction he was referring to.

            • ewatchman

              Here’s an illustration of crazy.

Say you live in a beach community in south Florida. One day you come home from work and pull up in the driveway of your house and you see that the house next door is all boarded up, like it is prepared for a hurricane. Then you see you neighbors, Bill and Carol, frantically packing their SUV with all their stuff. They even have their big screen TV lashed on the roof. Perplexed and alarmed you go over to ask Bill what’s going on.

“You going on vacation Bill?”, you ask nervously.
“No,” he responds. “Hurricane coming,” he adds.
“Hurricane! What are you talking about, Bill? I was just listening to the Miami weather report on the car radio, they didn’t say anything about a hurricane.”
Bill responds: “Well, no, not now. But eventually we are going to get hammered by a monster, category five. Maybe not this year or the next. But someday this whole place is going to get flattened. Mark my words! And Carol and I aren’t waiting around for it. We’re getting out now, before the freeways are all jammed up with evacuees.”

You respond: “Bill, that sounds crazy. What about your job at the lab? You are only a few years from retirement.”
“Too bad,” Bill responds. “I can find another job up in the Panhandle. Our lives are too important to risk.”

“But what about your house here? You going to try and sell it all boarded up like this?”
Bill: “I don’t know. Haven’t thought about it. Let the bank have it, I guess. Heck, it’s all going to be under water anyway.”

The conversation concludes when Carol stuffs the family’s big black Labrador retriever in the back of the SUV between two potted palm trees and gets in the car, hollaring across the lawn for Bill to come on and get in the car. Bill gets in. As they back out of the drive, Bill rolls the driver’s side window down and pleads with you: “Get out now, while you can.”

Then Bill and carol speed off and are never heard from or seen again.

            • Joseph Stephan

Ohhhhh wow, that just gave me a 1975 chill I remembered as a little fatherless boy living in Florida.

            • Observing Quietly

Ewatchman, I am sorely disappointed in your response. This illustration if full of exaggerated hyperbole designed to make me look stupid. Why would you treat me this way? I didn’t make up the warning words of Jesus. I didn’t make up the warning words of the Apostle John. You yourself in your book describe the disgusting thing in detail, obviously you must be able to see it. It may not be standing in the holy place at the moment, but it is headed there. Why the nasty reply? Seems I may have touched a nerve with you.

            • KB

I’ve enjoyed your comments on here so far, welcome. Don’t take Roberts comment as directed only to you. His comment doesn’t make you look stupid at all. In fact since you are here you are far from stupid. He just illustrates his point in an interesting way. Please don’t take offense.

            • Southern ShaSha

              Dear Observing Quietly.
One thing we all know for an absolute, all on this site came together not by chance but by our love for JEHOVAH, JESUS and the kingdom messege. We all have a great desire, one goal, to serve in the best way each of us are capable. All have of course a different set of circumstances. I love the fact that all have the freedom to voice our opinions, to ask questions regarding any scriptural point we may not fully understand, to express our love for our Heavenly Father and Jesus, the very ones who give us joy and hope in a world that has gone mad! That has got to be the focal point above all else. I know for me I must constantly “check” myself to not get caught up in questioning the timing of events beyond what I personally see and am capable of understanding. JESUS gave the signs to be watching for in preparation and understanding of the calamities we will all soon face. Most important to build our faith and reliance on both JEHOVAH and Him. I love studying daily, I love association with all the dear friends on this site, I appreciate with my whole heart that JEHOVAH makes clear He wishes for all to trust in Him, for all to love and serve according to His will, for all to attain everlasting life, that is most of us, on Paridise earth. By sincere prayer to Him, gaining as much knowledge as we can in order to know His will, I believe He will provide all we need at the right time. And Dear Observing Quietly, never take offense to anything said on this site, as I said before each of us are on the same path, maybe each with an opinion that we may agree with or not!!!

            • Southern ShaSha

We can appreciate, even JESUS Deciples would challenge one another, having to be corrected numerous times. And they had the greatest teacher to ever walk on this earth. Often times they were not in agreement, often times confused.

            • Joseph Stephan

              Dear Brother and Sister OQ,
Don’t take it personally, I totally understand why you are, and millions more are observing quietly. Most of us here are damaged goods waiting on our redeemer Jesus Christ! Sending you both my love ❤❤

+10 JS, great, great answer & more than comforting. OQ should NOT feel stupid by any means, her answer sparked a most amazing discussion & I honestly think we all learned a lot from it, not only from the answers given, but also by delving into the Scriptural answers given.

I for one prayed to Jehovah last night & thanked Him for the lessons we all learned from this podcast & each other. I will be eternally grateful for people like you & OQ & everyone on this site, my journey is getting easier by the day & my knowledge increasing too.

May Jehovah bless & protect everyone on this site Agape to all xoxoxo

            • Beverly kenyon

Cocheta, you’re on fire with your comments…loving everything you’re saying!

            • Cocheta

YOU………….You…I have thoroughly wet my pillow with tears & given Jehovah a headache asking Him to find you this last week

            • Beverly kenyon

Sorry about that Cocheta. Even though I was away, I still kept in touch, so to speak by reading everyone’s comments and reading Brother Kings articles…I just needed to re-configure and digest recent events. I know this might sound pathetic but when my feelings are hurt I tend to get rid and retreat until I can think rationally. Prayed to Jehovah to help with the problem of what my next move should be as I’m angry with myself…but I’ll own it. Let’s just say the Man of Lawlessness is alive and kicking in that congregation (Broughton), with the exception of a few, wow, was I wrong about that congregation having a nice spirit, yeah, they have a spirit, a spirit of Satan!! And he revealed himself in the shape of two so called sisters! Unbelievable! Two grown women acting like juveniles and trying to please and score brownie points with mere men…like men can give them everlasting life! And my loyal witness friend has turned out to be not so loyal after all and is totally brainwashed…absolutely away with the fairies!! Gone! Feel a bit betrayed and let down and angry with myself. Thank you Cocheta for thinking and praying for me…that means a lot! Yeah, I noticed Joel has been quiet…he’s a sensitive soul.

            • Cocheta

ohhhh, babe, you too, this is shocking the goings on in all the congregations now. Never mind, apparently this is a pretty cool congregation here, so stick around kiddo xoxoxo

            • Beverly kenyon

Cocheta, you’re such a cool and very funny woman! Yeah, never mind, we have the best KH with some of the scripturally cleverest, funny, bravest, gracious, lovers of Jehovah and his Son Jesus, diverse, interesting Brothers and Sisters to be found on the Globe and this KH doors are always open, so yeah, I’m gonna stick around!

            • Cocheta

good. My internet connection is flicking on & off tonight (nobody fed the donkey again by the looks of it ! Internet is not brilliant here when we have Saharan sand in the air – so I’ll see you next time. It seriously is fantastic to see you back

Beverly, you’ve got some ‘splaining to do!
              Welcome back 🙂

            • Beverly kenyon

Aww, thank you 1914. I appreciate that. It’s lovely. I always look forward to reading anything you post…you bring out some great points in the articles and you really make a point of KNOWING ones on here and treating Brother King’s site like a proper KH…because let’s face it, it really is a virtual KH where lost ones can gather at all hours, the doors are never closed…Song of Hannah described it best in her recent post. I also like reading reading the banter between you and Burt and it’s a beautiful thing to see the developing friendship between you both.

            • 1914for100Alex

I wish the Kingdom Hall was like this. I’ve been thinking a lot about what it might be like once the Watchtower is out of the way, and I keep picturing it being something similar to this. People actually reading the Bible and discussing scripture rather than discussing WT articles. Don’t get me wrong. There are some positive aspects of doing that at the moment, depending on the subject matter, but when it all falls apart Bethel’s opinions on beards and dress codes aren’t going to mean much of anything.

Of course, the conditions we’ll be subjected to are going to complicate matters. It won’t be as easy as logging in and making a post. We will have to gather together wherever we can, probably in secret. The Bible says the angels will help sort the sheep from the goats. Will those of us that love the truth group together with like minded people, and the others just go their own way? Maybe. One thing I do know is that we’re all going to have to be strong.

When I read your post about what you’re going through I couldn’t help but think “I hope this makes her stronger. Better that things like this happen in more favorable conditions than later on.” The hits are going to keep coming one after another once this thing starts. No one is going to be able to fully prepare mentaly for it, but the more prepared we are the better. I know you’re hurting and feel betrayed, but don’t let it bring you down. Use it to your benefit. Satan hates that 😉 He wants us to give up, but you didn’t. You’re back and we’re here for you.

              Matthew 6:34

So never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Each day has enough of its own troubles.

            • Beverly kenyon

1914, those two women brought me to tears (not sobbing), tears of temper..where I live snitches get stitches..so felt powerless because I would come across as the bad guy..I’m still stunned! At the moment I’m going with the flow…what happens, happens. I’ve prayed to Jehovah God to direct me and lead me…what he thinks is best for me but trust me, there’s no way I would give them the satisfaction of losing my faith. There’s a scripture that says we shouldn’t let anything part us from the love of God and in my case it’s certainly not going to be two ordinary closed minded creature worshipping women…not happening 1914! This site has been a lifesaver, also Perimeno and Baruq and I’d rather have true knowledge than fake and be ignorant and closed minded. The storm clouds are gathering 1914 so it’s best to keep close to like minded people for the scripturally upbuilding support as oppose to people who want to tear you down…don’t need the drama and negativity, it’s soul destroying. Thank you 1914 for that scripture, really good reminder for us having to live in Satan’s world…it helps a person to keep their balance. Thank you as well for taking the time to send me your lovely supportive post. Gestures like that mean a lot..it also makes me feel humble.

Wow, Joseph, I love Tracy Chapman! Very inspirational. Thank you Joseph. I was always coming back to this site…I was recovering a bit from the betrayal which I might have contributed to because I was too trusting and a bit naive..I was warned but as usual I had to find out the hard way, but you just get caught up in the moment and think that everyone is trying to do the right thing but they let you down by revealing they want the approval of men instead of God’s approval. Thank you Joseph for hunting down that Tracy Chapman track cos I know you’re a busy man so I appreciate that gesture also I’m going to treat myself to a wireless speaker soon and I’ll get my child to put that track on my playlist and I’m going to annoy my neighbours by blasting it out..they won’t mind that much as I’m fortunate to have lovely neighbours! Lol.

            • Joseph Stephan

Hehe, your right ! I did spend a little time going through my ipod Playlist looking for an appropriate song for you, but your worthy my sister?

              Always remember…..

“Happy are you who hunger now, because you will be filled. Happy are you who weep now, because you will laugh. Woe to you who are filled up now, because you will go hungry. Woe, you who are laughing now, because you will mourn and weep.”

The fat cats at the hall don’t sense the storm coming.

            • Beverly kenyon

Joseph, how do you do that? You’re so empathetic and in tune to everyone here on EWatchman…you really are such a lovely, lovely Brother. And yeah, you’re right about the fat cats at KH’s but I feel sorry for them that they can’t reason and see Truth or at least go looking for truth. Sad.

I hope you will be okay sis…I was betrayed too by some one I trusted….it’s how I learnt tho..just how bad things are..keep your own councel sis…Jehovah knows you are there and if there is anyone wanting…he will direct them to you…big hug xx

            • Beverly kenyon

Thank you Sister Thinking. One of them that befriended me said how she had left for five years due to hurt feelings so I felt confident enough to tell her about the wheat and the weeds growing together and she was agreeing and I remembered thinking is she a secret diciple but like a friend of mine said, she was giving me a long rope, she was reeling me in and I liked her, she was easy to talk to! Still in shock that she played me..I keep seeing her fake face. And this is the one who was laughing and bragging about how when she’s working on the carts she slyly sticks her feet out to trip the people up and I remembered thinking at the time how rude is that and I felt bad thinking that of her! I have never had any witness try to bring me down as I’ve always tried to treat others decently so long as no one picks on my friends for nothing. Thank You Sister Thinking for the hug…I appreciate that…I’ll be fine..I don’t stay down for long and I never show the ones who has hurt me that I’m bothered..they don’t need to know that! Lovely to hear from you and I hope you’re still happy at your KH.

            • Thinking

WHAT!!!!! she sticks her feet out to trip people…..good grief….that’s just plain sick….you are well rid of her sis….this just beggars belief….sometimes I think.nothing surprises me anymore..but that did…..there is something wrong with the core of her …so stay clear of her.
It hurts..you are feeling bruised…..but that will fade away and soon it won’t hurt anymore…but you will become wiser and not so open hearted …which is a crying shame..as it is a wonderful quality to have ….I am very wary now…
We are living in evil times sis….take heart that he is getting you ready and trained …..we will stand much better at that time….again a big hug sis…
              Stay strong …xx

            • Beverly kenyon

You’ve gone through much worse Sister Thinking so I’ll follow your example and not let it bring me down. I’ll be fine. But it was an eye opener! Wow! Lots of hugs back to you. Xx

            • 1914for100Alex

You’re very welcome. It’s sad to think that things like this can happen in a Kingdom Hall, of all places. Especially with the emphasis on how we’re so different from all those other people. Yeah right. It just proves that what the scriptures warn us about is true. There are “oppressive wolves” and it sounds like the love is already cooling off in many places. That’s not how it’s supposed to be. I know it’s not everyone, but all it takes is a handful and they can make things miserable for you. Putting sugar in their gas tanks might help. No, wait. Don’t do that. Definitely don’t do that. Probably better to just turn the other cheek. Glad you came back 🙂

            • Beverly kenyon

You’re so right to say the love of the greater number is cooling off 1914…as I found out! Yeah, that’s not how it’s suppose to be but at least Jehovah warned us that it would happen that way…but it’s still a shocker to see it in action! So I can’t get my balaclava and my bag of sugar ready! Damn! Gutted at that! Doing that would’ve taken a bit of the pain away!! Lol.

            • KB

So glad to see you are here!

            • Beverly kenyon

Hiya Kevin b, can I just say your recent comments on this article has really helped me a lot. You just have a way of getting the point across in such a real, human, feeling and relateable way. I haven’t been able to process and articulate my feelings about meetings at the KH and IS it the place to be considering what most of us here on this site now know about the real truth…it’s a real Sophie’s choice! Argh! But you brought out some real good points that got me thinking. Also, liked the point you made about your funk after meetings…it takes you like hours to come down…and that’s how I also felt after meetings..like I’d done something wrong and feeling really unsettled! Also, you still hold the top spot in my top ten of the best laughs I’ve ever had on this site…but you’ve got serious competition by Cocheta, DA, 1914 and Burt. Thank you Kevin b.

            • Peter

Welcome back Beverly, glad know you are on fire yourself just like Cocheta and able be back here again. You were missed by all here, and it shows. The thought did cross my mind come visit your hall see if you were okay, but glad you are here again. Sorry hear the spirit in your hall isn’t uplifting. But it’s great have you back.

            • Beverly kenyon

Hiya Peter. Thank you for the welcome back…it’s much appreciated. But like I said to Joseph, I was always coming back to EWatchman. I just needed time to absorb exactly what happened! I’m an impulsive person Peter, if I get hurt I either retreat and go into solitary confinement or I react by lashing out and come out shooting from both hips and not taking any prisoners or I just blank the person/s who’s hurt me. I know..it’s not good to be like that…how can Jehovah forgive me, a huge sinner…if I can’t also forgive…so I’m working on it. I had a feeling you might’ve come looking for me at that KH and I was a bit worried about that as I didn’t want you to have a wasted journey but Thank You for bearing me in mind…that’s so sweet. So angry Peter that I got it all wrong…sometimes I’m a bit too trusting. I’m still figuring out my next move as I still want to do the right thing but I was really struggling sitting at those meetings having to listen to the ridiculous cack they were spewing out week in week out. I don’t faff about Peter..time and life is way too short to mess about listening to lies and things that don’t make sense and because I don’t agree I’m called spiritually weak and I need a bible study…which in witness speak is code for this one has to be brainwashed some more…strap her to a chair and shine the light in her eyes! I know…they don’t literally do that but they might as well! My ex so called witness friend which I’m gutted about that I’ve lost her as a friend said she stuck up for me that’s why the elders didn’t speak to me…well I wish they had pulled me as I would’ve told them the same thing I told those two treacherous ones…my life isn’t in their hands..I’m responsible for MY life. Gonna now just wait this one out Peter and see what happens! Hope you’re OK and you’re well. Really good to hear from you.

            • Cocheta

mwaabwaahahahaaaaa … SORRY, Bev, I just almost spat my herbal tea all over my keyboard! I had a ‘vision’ of the 2 of us being strapped to chairs with the light shining in our eyes ” You vil learn ze truth from zese men in white coats” (remember my German??)

As for coming out with all guns firing, I’ll remember that picture of you when I go to the Public Talk on Sunday after a few weeks off & the elders are giving me the mal de ojo (evil eye!) But, instead of smouldering you really should follow my example & chuck furniture about or get down on your knees & scrub the tiles – it is very soul cleansing!

My darling girl, I’m certain Jehovah thinks of us as I do with my ‘baby A’, I daily tell her she is such a naughty kid, grrr, but I love her so much & give her a big hug. He must love you even more for making such a huge effort & even though you & I have to spend quite a bit of time in the naughty corner we will still get sweeties after dinner.

I am sooooo sorry you had to go through that & it was vile for you, seriously. Be strong, kiddo, & don’t let them drag you down, they aint worth it!
Don’t beat me up for laughing, I thought the picture you painted was just so funny …….. er hum….I’ll go walk the dog!!
Luv ya, honey xoxoxo (just watch out for the ‘rocks’ from above *wink*)

            • Beverly kenyon

Couldn’t wait to reply to your post Cocheta as I found it so funny. I do remember the German. Yeah, I remember you saying that’s how you cope with anger issues…at least you end up with everything really clean or with mashed furniture! Lol. At least I haven’t got a rock with my name written on it!! That woman is not right! I’ll be fine eventually Cocheta. Ones on this site have had much worse meted out to them in their KH’s…Yuri, You, Sister Thinking, Joseph and his poor Brother, Song of Hannah, Arvid, DA, Burt, Daisy, Serecko, Andereiga, Peter, Lisa, Lisa-Lisa, etc…the list is endless!! Love you too. Xx

            • Peter

Hi Beverly, we all have different personlities how we handle things happeneing to us, and those experiences hopefully should help and teach us, too. Especially when people hurt us, in your case brothers and sisters whom should know better, but they don’t. I understand how you feel being ‘an impulsive person, retreat, lashing out and shooting from the hips, and taking no prisoners.’ Me, I’ m the opposite, hence reasons for helping each other with our different gifts. And if things take a turn for the worse and you need a friend who’s close by, I’m only half an hour away down the motorway. We can feel angry when we get things wrong when trust is betrayed, Psalm 41:9, so if we can use it as a training ground for something much bigger coming…Matthew 10:21. It’s good have a fighting spirit showing passion for the way you feel, too. It’s what makes us all different, otherwise we would all be apples and how boring would only apples be!

            • Beverly kenyon

Thank you Peter for that lovely gesture of driving down the motorway if needed…that is so kind and thoughtful…I’ll keep that thought in mind. I wear my heart on my sleeve and it’s all or nothing with me. And you’re so right about these things helping to toughen us up for what is coming…good scripture you quoted there. The Storm Clouds are gathering and the Winds of Change is coming so yeah,we’re in training now! Anything I do I give it my all. I am most definitely not an apple! Lol. I am not one for sitting sedately asking, ‘Pass the Peas Please.

            • Peter

Somebody once said that about me, “Peter, said it’s all or nothing for him” actually I didn’t say it in person but it was my actions which made the person make the comment about me. And you feel the same way about yourself. Yes, the winds of change is coming, storm clouds gathering. By the way, you quoted “I am most definitely not an apple! Lol” And there’s me thinking you were a Pink Lady. Lol. I love those apples! Got one in my fridge… Welcome for gesture, so keep that thought in mind.

            • Beverly kenyon

Lol Peter. For me, if you don’t give something your all then don’t bother! Laughing at that Pink Lady comment! I’m not one for sitting in deathly silence saying, ‘Pass the Peas Please.’ The sheer boredom of it all! Despite all the bad things that happened to you Peter, it’s lovely to see you can still laugh and smile. That’s lovely.

            • ewatchman

Sometimes humor can help a person see some aspect of themselves in a different light. Of course, it takes humility too.

            • Observing Quietly

Humor, hmmm…..did not think you were funny. Others here have been wonderful to talk with and I shall keep quietly observing.

As to my husband and I’s decision to not go back to the KH, you say it is not scripturally sound? Notice Luke 21: 20-22 “Furthermore, when YOU see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that the desolating of her has drawn near. 21 Then let those in Ju·de′a begin fleeing to the mountains, and let those in the midst of her withdraw, and let those in the country places not enter into her; 22 because these are days for meting out justice, that all the things written may be fulfilled.”

Nothing there about waiting till the last moment for someone to say, time to go. Nor does it say anything about waiting until you see those encamped armies inside the temple. It does say, if you have left, don’t go back inside. For the record, we feel on very secure scriptural ground for our decision.

If in the future there is something you say that I disagree with I will
keep my counsel to myself, same as I had to do for years at the KH.
Making fun of someone and then calling it humor is unkind and humility is a two-way mirror.

            • Cocheta

you won’t leave here though, will you, OQ? I would miss you terribly & so would everyone else.
I actually agree with your decision, especially as it is very deeply & prayerfully thought out.
              *Hugs*

            • Beverly kenyon

I’m with Cocheta on this one too Observing Quitely. Loved it when you arrived on EWatchman. I’m not meaning to undermine Brother King and I do get his point but I respect your decision and your faith and let’s face it the time is coming when we’ll all be running for the hills! Much Christian love to you and your Husband.

            • ewatchman

For the record, I think your reasoning is crazy.

            • Observing Quietly

My apologies for having offended you.

            • Arvid Fløysand

you did just what Jesus told us to do (matt 5:38-48)…suppose Jesus is one of the observervers/partakers on this site…would we be able to “see” him?i belive you know what to look for…and you know what He looked for in people…:-)

            • Victor Field

What you are saying is so true,,who is who,,those we are rubbing shoulder’s with??
How many times has Christ been threatened to be removed???

            • ewatchman

Just so you know, over the years a few exJW’s who pretended to know something have left comments intending to persuade JW’s to flee the organization for the very same reason you say you did. I don’t think your intention is to draw others away, but that is why I don’t put up with it.

            • Observing Quietly

Thank you for your explanation. For the record, I never told anyone else to leave the KH. From my first conversation with Lisa-Lisa, I said I was sharing the reasons my husband and I have left and won’t go back. Repeatedly, I said this was my husband and my decision. I never once tried to persuade anyone else that they should leave as well. Each of us have our reasons and each of us share them. Honestly, that is all I intended.

            • Bklyn Kevin

Hello and welcome Observing Quietly nice to have you with us.

I really enjoyed your comments as it helped me to ponder over the question
“should we stay or should we go however I did a little research in the scriptures and here’s what the bible has to say. Hope you don’t mind.

The question we all should ask ourselves is
“Where should we be when Jehovah pours out his spirit in the second Pentecost
              /coming?

I mean shouldn’t we be closely associated with our brothers and sisters as to be involved in the assignment of preaching the good news as Jesus put forth? Matthew 24:14. .

Now with that thought in mind where can the disciples be found when Jerusalem had a Similar crisis?.

The answer can be readily found in the scriptures below.

Luke 24:47 and on the basis of his name, repentance for forgiveness of sins would be preached in all the nations
              (—starting out from Jerusalem)

              Acts 5:25.
But someone came and reported to them: “Look!
The men you put in prison are in the (temple,) / [kingdom hall] (standing and teaching the people).

So the disciples were in Jerusalem teaching at the temple / kingdom hall even in spite of the persecution by their own people / brothers and sisters. Acts 27-32.

              Now the question still remains
“Where should we be when Jehovah pours out his spirit in the second Pentecost?.

The answer is – it’s your choice as you are a free agent but please keep in mind the example that the apostles put forth and of course your own circumstances.

Dear Rob, after being a witness for 55 years and watching the WT belting the underdog in one way or another, I can see it all over again. The petulant blogger, crushing the flea with a sledgehammer. You’re back to insults and you’re even arguing over the shape of the disgusting thing (DT). Give it a rest son, it would have been easier to just say sorry and it would have all blown over.

It has even got to the point that people are writing in and making excuses for your manner

As to shape and form of the DT, not knowing as you say “You can’t even say for sure what form it will take. No one can,” hasn’t stopped you from describing it.

              Quoting from your book:

At some point, however, under critical circumstances far beyond the scope of any
previous crisis, THE UNITED NATIONS STANDS POISED TO BECOME THE EIGHTH KING OF BIBLE PROPHECY; imposing its rule to the extent that:

“It puts under compulsion all people—the small and the great, the rich and the poor, the free and the slaves—that these should be marked on their right hand or on their forehead, and that nobody can buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name.”

The scripture goes on to say: “This is where it calls for wisdom: Let the one
who has insight calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a man’s number,
              and its number is 666.”

              You go on to say:
“In further confirmation that Judgment Day will involve the idolization of a political image”. (JHHBK page 258, para 2,5, p. 258)

You further ruminate on what that might mean by saying:

Since the eighth king “springs from the seven,” evidently the Anglo-American king
not only breathes life into the image and commands the world to worship the image, but the seventh king also takes a back seat to his own Frankenstein-like creation. (Ibid., para 4. p.259)

And in paragraph 5 of the same page:

“The crash of the present governmental system will likely be followed by the
imposition of a form of global communism.”

All of these your words. Not mine. It all sounds like a pretty good description of the DT to me.

As you well know, and you have had the conversations with Lyndon LaRouche, the Great Depression of 1929 to circa 1933, was stage managed and designed by what may be called the neo-liberals by some. Lyndon calls them the people of Geater London. We also both know that John Maynard Keynes devised the economic scheme for Govt’s to deficit spend. Meaning borrow money. From whom? Again you know whom and it was. Lyndon’s reference re “The Four Laws for Destroying the British (money) Empire. The borrower is the slave of the lender Prov 22.7. Was all done for a reason.

So much of your information for the coming financial crash, reading Lyndon has helped with, concerning the details. So whatever happens in the future has already been planned regarding the coming financial crash and the instrument that will arise which you have recognised as the eighth king.

So the pattern is set. The League morphed into the UN that morphs into the Eighth King.

None of us has ever seen the League of Nations, but we know it existed. All its records went into the UN. Same crowd, different name, newer piece of real estate.

The point is that wherever the Eighth King is HQ’d the rest of the world wont see it. But you will feel the effects. But for you to say we don’t know what form it takes, then why did you describe it so well?

Most people have never “seen” the UN but know what it is and feel its effects. For example go and have a look at the VIN number stamped somewhere on your car. It is compiled by the UN and one of the numbers denotes which continent you come from. It is reputed that certain police records from countries around the world are kept there. As are the many binding treaties signed by Govts. Yet many have never seen the UN. The East river looks pretty good from the top floor of the UN building.

So given the evidence from you and common sense, do we know what we are expecting and looking for? It would be very hard to say anything but yes.

So can we escape the Eighth King (no matter what it looks like)? What are to escape (flee) from is it not religion and doesn’t the WT qualify as religion?

              WT 1940 page 104-5
“Again let the people be reminded that religion is a snare and a racket, originating with the Devil, the leader of the demons, and forced upon the people by the demons : the snare of the Devil, in which to catch the people, and the racket of the religious leaders to rob the people.”

Just isolating a little part of the quote from the 1940 WT which says:

“religion is a snare and a racket, originating with the Devil, the leader of the demons, and forced upon the people by the demons”

“[F]orced on people by the demons”, why? Because people who are bound by religion are much easier to control. And as King has pointed out the 1914 doctrine was much easier to sell to a religiously controlled compliant group of people who have failed to follow their own conscience… the very thing that profoundly affects their judgement. What a tragedy

There is more, but I will say Robert that you have handled an obviously concerned woman’s decisions badly. I hope you learn something from this I worry that you wont.

            • ewatchman

How I administer my website is not open for discussion. You can consider this a warning.

            • Beverly kenyon

Observing Quietly, there’s no way Brother King was being nasty. I think he’s giving you both sides of the coin….being in the world you might get picked off some way or other. But my my impression is that both you and your husband have great faith in Jehovah to act on the decision you’ve taken. For me you will always be the couple who left the ‘city’ early and not Carol and Bill who sped off with their potted plants, the dog and TV never to be heard of again! You’ve both made a conscious decision that’s best for your spiritual health and in doing so you’re clinging to your faith and Jehovah for dear life more than ever!

            • Observing Quietly

There are some wonderful and lovely people ( KB, Southern Sha-Sha, Cocheta and others) here that have eased my hurt feelings, but not Robert.

So I have been thinking all day long about your (Robert) illustration and decided that it needs fleshing out to work. So you call me Carol and my hubby Bill, and say that we are foolish for packing up and heading out because the radio didn’t say anything about the hurricane. I say that you, Bruce, have not looked up at the sky above you. The clouds are dark and ugly, the wind is picking up fiercely and the rain is starting to bucket down. Tiles on the roof are coming loose and trees are being uprooted. You are worried about us having a job or selling our house and clearly we are not. We see the terrible storm, feel it’s affects and are getting out instead of waiting till the last moment when the radio finally puts out the word to evacuate. Ahead of most major storms there is a call to voluntarily evacuate and then there is the final order to evacuate. We have voluntarily evacuated and are not waiting around for someone to tell us it’s time to go.

So you see, the illustration you give doesn’t make any sense given the times we are living in as well as the things you have written in your book. Are we looking for the imminent arrival of Christ or not? The scriptures say we should be. The dark clouds on the horizon of the Great Trib say we should be.

As a final thought, if you disagree, you could have simply said you disagree and go from there. We all have free will and based on information make our own choices. Personal attacks when you don’t know someone or their story is just not good enough.

            • ewatchman

I did not take issue with your choice. I simply advised you to come up with a better reason. The Scriptures urge us to live with soundness of mind, especially as the day draws near. My illustration was intended to help you see that your attempt to scripturally justify your leaving is not sound. There are plenty of legitimate reasons why Jehovah’s Witnesses may choose to leave, but trying to get a jump on the tribulation isn’t one of them.

            • Song of Hannah

I appreciate your point… Reason being, a few years ago the town we lived in was threatened with [an emergency disaster]. Interestingly, a number of the Elders & Servants packed up their treasured belongings and immediately fled the town. Seems the thought of what would happen to the elderly or the infirm in the congregation had not even occured to them. But many of the less prominent brothers & sisters sprung into action to save them, and all were able to get out safely.

I think about this often, as it helps me have clarity of where I ought to be, as we see the the winds of armeggedon fast approaching.

            • Whiteroom

Dear Rob, It is understood that emotion, tone of voice, the look on the face when in person to person contact, conveys a whole lot more than just voice alone. It makes emails a difficult means of intent.

I read your your comment to OQ, about humor helping one to see things differently. The best understood kind of “humor” in emails is self deprecation, then there is very little misunderstanding.

In my earlier letter on this page I quoted from your book,

“According to Jehovah’s judgment, that amounts to spiritual
prostitution, idolatry and apostasy. There are unavoidable consequences
              for such wickedness.”

              Was that humor too?

As far as I know none of us fully understand all the scriptural references of things about to happen, in detail. We just have to wait and see. I’ve been waiting 55 years to see.

I think it is quite clear that OQ is not trying to get the jump on the GT, but clearly doesn’t want to “share in the sins” of the WT, as you so humorously put it, “spiritual
              prostitution, idolatry and apostasy.”

Sorry Observing Quitely, I sent my post that was meant for you to Cocheta. Just wanted to say I’m with Cocheta on what she said in her post to you. I’m not meaning to undermine Brother King in any way and I do get the point he’s making but I also respect your decision coupled with your faith. And let’s face it, the time is coming when we’ll all be ‘running for the hills.’ You and your husband are just not hanging about. Much Christian Love to you both.

            • Observing Quietly

Thank you Beverly….I sincerely appreciate you and Cocheta and others here.

Spiritual, humble, classy…lovely, lovely lady. Love and hugs to you both Observing Quietly.

            • what part of reasoning is crazy? im lost

          • Thinking

I don’t beleive we have to flee anywhere..it will all be taken away from us….there won’t be anything to flee from.

            • ELiJAHx7

(Scrolling comments this caught my attention) ….I don’t mean to interrupt your discussion, but I am intrigued…I enjoy your comments very much, but do you believe that there is no need to head the warning, “Get out of her my people” ,and flee for our lives? I may not understand, but, I am humbly and respectfully asking because I am curious about your statement…

            • Thinking

Lol…..Elijah..you want me to get my head chopped off here…because that’s what will happen because I disagree with Robert over this…and who am I??.
But yeah..I do……basically because it’s not the pattern that Jehovah has shown us in the past.
When he has disciplined his people before…..even tho they were laid low…as in being led into captivity to Babylon…he did raise them back up again as his people .
Same with the Isralites..remember when he was so mad with them he told Moses he would use him to bring a nation thru him Exodus 32:10-14..but Moses said no You cannot do that … Well we are like that people back then.
We carry his name…he won’t abandon us totally…he will turn his face away for awhile and we will look all but destroyed ..but he will raise his loyal ones up again.
The weeds will be collected OUT of his kingdom…all those causing stumbling….Then those left will be able to shine ….

There won’t be anything left to flee from..as they have been removed….
im going to post something from Perimeno….here he and Robert disagree.
But that’s okay..as I don’t think any invited ones have got it all right yet …
I had these thoughts before I read Perimeno….but it might help you…and you may still feel we have to flee..but this is where we have to keep on digging and searching isn’t it….we are not all going to agree on everything…until it actually happens…?

These are another annoited or invited ones thoughts on the matter::::

.Jesus was speaking about two distinct events, or tribulations, — one that would come upon Jerusalem, namely the coming “days for meting out justice,” where Jesus specifically mentions Jerusalem, Judea and the mountains to flee to; and “the great tribulation,” which he mentions in Matthew chapter 24, which would come upon all mankind. (Luke 21:20-24Open in Logos Bible Software (if available); Matt. 24:21Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)) He again refers to this great tribulation almost thirty years after the destruction of Jerusalem, in Revelation chapter 7. (Rev. 7:14Open in Logos Bible Software (if available))

Please note what is said concerning any survivors of the destruction of Jerusalem, which took place in 70 C.E., that they would “be led captive into all the nations.” (Luke 21:24Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)) But those coming out of “the great tribulation” are seen dressed in white robes, they are before the throne of God and are rendering him sacred service day and night in his temple. (Rev. 7:14-17Open in Logos Bible Software (if available))

The two events have two entirely different outcomes. The outcome of the one event does not parallel the second event. Therefore, we cannot take everything that Jesus said concerning the destruction of Jerusalem and make a parallel application to the great tribulation yet to come. It takes discernment to distinguish what applied to the destruction of Jerusalem and what Jesus said would take place concerning the great tribulation. Lack of this discernment will lead to unfulfilled expectations and disappointment.

Contrary to what some are preaching, Jesus did not urge his disciples to leave God’s household and “flee to the mountains,” at some point before the great tribulation begins. Jehovah will not destroy his household of servants the way he destroyed Jerusalem and the temple. Rather, Jesus promised that “in the conclusion of the system of things” he would “collect out from his kingdom all things that cause stumbling and persons who are doing lawlessness.” (Matt. 13:40Open in Logos Bible Software (if available), 41Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)) The apostle Peter tells us that the righteous within God’s house will be saved, while the ungodly and the sinners, those “who are not obedient to the good news of God,” will perish. (1 Peter 4:17Open in Logos Bible Software (if available), 18Open in Logos Bible Software (if available); 2 Thess. 1:7-9Open in Logos Bible Software (if available))

The righteous “members of the household of God” will be “the ones that come out of the great tribulation.” They will survive it because they have God’s protection. (Rev. 7:14Open in Logos Bible Software (if available); Zeph. 2:3Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)) Jesus said to Martha: “I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life; and everyone that is living and exercises faith in me will never die at all. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25Open in Logos Bible Software (if available),26Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)) How about you? Do YOU believe this?

Oh no lol…I abstain from violence for the sake of violence….I like to hear a persons perspective and you have an interesting one, thanks for taking time to reply…As with all things, it is up to us to use our powers of reason to determine what is truth, I keep on testing myself…

            • Bklyn Kevin

If What you’re saying is true then why did Jesus himself instructed us to flee to the mountains when we see the disgusting thing put in place?. Now don’t get me wrong I do agree with a lot you said however I don’t agree with everything you said and this is just my opinion based on what I read in the scriptures.

              Thinking ELiJAHx7 • 18 hours ago
(…..basically because it’s not the pattern) that Jehovah has shown us in the past.
When he has disciplined his people before…..even tho they were laid low…as in being led into captivity to Babylon… End quote.

OK granted that’s what took place in Babylon in the past but please take note of the the pattern and instruction Jesus gave us which most certainly foreshadow / parallels the future.

              Matthew24:3-25.
              Disciples asked a question:
While he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the (conclusion) of the system of things?”

              Jesus gives the answer:
“Then people will hand you over to tribulation and will kill you, and you will be hated by all the nations on account of my name.
Then, too, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another.
“Therefore, when you catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken about by Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place

(let the reader use discernment), [based on Jesus’ instructions]

then let those in Ju·deʹa (begin fleeing) to the mountains.
“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look! Here is the Christ,’or, ‘There!’ do not believe it.

For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will perform great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.

(Look! I have forewarned you. )

Therefore, if people say to you, ‘Look! He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out; ‘Look! He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.

Matthew10:23. When they persecute you in one city, flee to another; for truly I say to you, you will by no means complete the circuit of the cities of Israel until the Son of man arrives. .

So over all the truth of the matter is we all have to use our GOD given discernment as to when we should flee based on the instructions Jesus clearly gave us and and we need to keep in mind everybody circumstances are surely different and what works for one person may not work for another but nonetheless we need to heed Jesus instructions to the best of our abilities along with faith.

            • Thinking

Yes I knew I would get my head chopped off..lol…we all have to work these things out for ourselves…..I can so no more than I have Kevin….there are still so may things I have yet to work out…..we each must make, our, own minds up about such things…..and also be prepared to change if it looks like we are wrong ..and that includes myself as well….?

            • Bklyn Kevin

Thinking You said “Yes I knew I would get my head chopped off..lol… End of quote

Just to let you know I don’t think of it that way in fact when someone shares scriptures with me as to clarify a particular subject I view it as iron sharpening iron. Proverbs 27:17.

After all does not the scriptures say that Jehovah reproves whom he loves?. Proverbs3:12.

Yes we all have to work on these things as you say and none are excluded. Romans3:23-26.

I’m not really sure of what you meant when you said…..”I can so no more than I have Kevin.

            • Cocheta

I think that is very dodgy thinking, Ms Thinking, if I may be so bold. As Bro Kevin has already pointed out, Jesus himself told us to flee to the mountains when we see the disgusting thing & why would he tell us that (note he did not say it as a mere suggestion)?
On your point about the 3 1/2 yrs siege of Jerusalem, possibly could it be that as Jerusalem was Jehovah’s city in those days & His people were in the majority gathered in it. The city was surrounded at that time & no-one left or entered into it. After that those who survived were carried away as slaves.

If it foreshadows the ‘city’ of Jehovah today (as in ‘the organisation’) & we know that His people are to be mistreated in some way, probably by not only the clergy of religions, but also by the common man who loathe WBTS for the way it has dealt with various wrong things e.g. NATO/NGO attachment, misappropriation of funds donated, paedophiles, wrongful disfellowshipping, shunning, stumbling etc, to name but a few things, could this be for a 3 1/2 yr period &/or the 3 1/2 years of the tribulation?
Also the Ministry of Jesus was 3 1/2 yrs
Elijah sealed up the heavens of rain for 3 1/2 yrs & there are more examples I’m sure, that I can’t for the life of me remember atm! (Had a long trying day with the baby!)
We know that Jehovah is the Master Mathematician & numbers are very powerfully used in His Word so I believe that all these ‘timed’ events can roll on & tie together as prophecies yet to be fulfilled.
Also the people back then had a very short window of time to get out of Jerusalem, so any of those loitering ‘just in case’ would have left it far too late to flee.

I know that it quite possibly isn’t yet Jehovahs time to swing into action, but we are definitely hurtling that way in a headlong spin & I really think we should be pondering more about our futures within the organisation & not be too much like the people of Noahs day & miss the boat altogether.
As far as being on hand to help out those within the congregations who are fussing about things, do you honestly know of any who truly question what the org says? If so, do you really think that you could offer them any crumbs of comfort that they would listen to without thinking you had turned apostate or, at the least, lost your marbles?

I don’t believe that any of them still in there are questioning the GB, they are all prepared with their 3 day go bags & eagerly watching the elders for they are to lead them through the GT & on into the New World in a happy little line singing Kingdom songs while the bombs roar either side of them!

We will only see those who are really serving & loving Jehovah WHEN the org takes its tumble & not before – they are sitting very comfortably just now with nothing to make them shudder, why should they think about leaving?

Also, if any are thinking more deeply then surely they are not dutifully at every meeting drinking in every word from their idols the WBTS.
We are more likley to find those people online maybe making comments on some ex JW site or YT channel somewhere searching for TTAT.
JMHO anyway. Thank you for reading this essay 😉
I need to reread this & edit it I think

            • ELiJAHx7

I read it and I appreciate your thoughts….I get so much faith building encouragement on this site and comment section aka virtual congregation…and just think, we don’t have to raise our hand and hope to get called on to answer a scripted answer from the watchtower, we can let our free thinking thoughts flow and reason upon the scriptures as we are supposed to do! So thankful for that and the fact that I am not alone here! Jehovah finds a home for the lost!

            • Cocheta

‘Jehovahs Rest Home for the Mentally Exhausted & Lost Sheep’ …..love your answer, Elijah

            • Arvid Fløysand

i belive that all truth-seekers if they are “inside”ore “outside” are exhausted and lost…we must act like Jesus and love all…even our ” enemies” …in fact..Jesus died for every human..this site is a beautiful place to show this love and care…what is most important?to be “inside” ore “outside” ore serve Jehova and Jesus?..hehe…this reminds me of the apostles when they argued about who was in the best position …we better start washing feets hehe…btw.i enjoy all your comments keep them coming sis..

            • Cocheta

              thanks, Arvid. Actually, I have read a very interesting & thought provoking article on a very weird sort of site about How the Ransom works & here is part of it;

“Christians are fond of saying “Jesus died for me” and although that shows good gratitude, it is not technically correct. Jesus was only one perfect man, and could thus provide equal value for only one perfect man’s ransom (using the biblical principle of equivalent value ‘ eye for eye’ etc.) So technically, Jesus only ransomed Adam’s life. But that life included every thing that life owned, including his wife and children, dominion over the animals etc. So Jesus only died directly for Adam, we benefit indirectly, or as a secondary effect. (Romans 5:12-18, 1 Corinthians 15: 21,22, 1Timothy 2:6)” ………………..

Take note of what the man said, Arvid, that Jesus only ransomed Adams life, but by definition that included all that Adam owned – I think that is an absolutely brilliant point of Law.

              Here is the full article if you care to read it, but beware, the type size & the way the site is set out is appalling;
              http://musingsaboutgod.com/howthe.htm

I’m not saying I agree with everything on that site, but it sure is an eye-opener in parts

thank you for that beautiful reply…and interesting link 🙂

            • Thinking

Aaaah sis…this is what it’s all about…digging deeper..often changing our minds about things….at this stage I beleive this firmly …and I feel with good reason…what I come to understand as time goes on ..I may have to readjust……but at the moment….this is what I beleive ……perhaps it was best I not have said anything. As every one has very strong opinions ( including me ) of how it’s all coming down..especially on these pages..
Being here is a bit like being at a meeting …if you say something out of line with what is said here…it’s met with dismay and disbelief…..and one is called dodgy……No different than if you were to say what you beleive at the KH.
You would also be called dodgy…..but we must keep learning…and be prepared to change as we find things..perhaps not what we thought..I have had to change many things since I first joined ewatchman….it certainly is a progression.

As far as do I beleive to find ones in the cong I can help,..you are dead wrong there sis…..yes I do find them….three of my oldest and dearest friends in the truth who are strong JWs and in very good standing….can see things…some things I have bought to their notice..very gently.over years!!..and now they can see for themselves..many things with the GB…do they know about 1914….. No..nor do I need to go there until they raise it …they are seeing more and more..and saying things like ..I obey Jehovah..and are prepared to disregard any one who differs from the scriptures…they see things wrong….but totally rely on Jehovah…..In fact I missed the last meetimg..and one of these sisters came and told me I had missed a brilliant talk on resentment given by a visiting speaker….and that he had referred to Isiah a number of times and told everyone that these scriptures were talking about Gods own people..not any one else…..She actually said that it was a completely new way of thinking about it and had everyone in silence and you could have heard a pin drop…..yet I had been trying to show her the same things…but it took this and now scales were falling even more from her eyes…and I bet from a few others there as well. That brother had been helped by witnesses..he had played video games with …some one from California…and they helped him into the truth…they had been brothers ……he was Jewish..
I totally agree with you..the Internet is huge in helping ones….but the point is.
Ones are listening….maybye not in your cong ..but they are there..
Hence the time will come when we WILL be able to identify them …
I’m sorry you have a bad cong …and each must make up their own mind on how to survive until the end.
My cong was considered very bad by even COs…he called the elders a mob of natzis….recently a CO warned my friend to get out of her cong and to move for her own spiritual survival…
So even decent COs can see that all is not well….there are many that don’t need E Watchman. Or Perimeno …or forums…they are seeing and working things out for them selves…..
Anyway sorry for the rave…hope all goes well with you sis
I know it’s very very hard…I too was always stuck in the one cong …so I know what you are saying …all I do now is look back and think…thank goodness I survived that fiery hell…and now have some releif..but it nearly did me in……
              Sis thinking

            • Anderiega

I appreciate your comments SIS Thinking. We all may not be in complete agreement all the time, but we’re all just trying to learn and THINK! Every single person that comments here brings their own unique energy and tone….Reminds me of being in an amateur band… Sometimes there may be a bit of dissonance, but the song isn’t over. I feel like I’m in Beethoven’s 9th symphony…. You (sister thinking) remind me of the tympani….You appear every 47th measure or so, but I like it. ??

          • Whiteroom

I agree with Quiet Observer, whether you leave or stay in the WT is your
own personal business. However Rob King’s response, “It sounds a little
crazy”, to her remarks is a putative comment and deserves replying to.
It is a personal slight, and is indicative of one who doesn’t like the
other persons comments but can’t refute them so makes it a personal
belittling of the person rather than the argument.

So just a few points then,

            1. Rob King through no fault of his own receives a lot of ego stroking,
contributors to this blog need to take care that your appreciation does
not get mixed with adulation Ps 146: 1-5.

            2. Rob King needs to be aware that his words are starting to carry great
weight with many, and thus he needs to take care before he speaks in
his podcasts. He risks being blood guilty if he is wrong, Luke 12:48.

3.On the matter of leaving the WT, “Thinking” makes the thought that
when Jerusalem was devastated by the Babylonians, it was Jehovah
disciplining his people, true. The scriptures confirm that (see Isaiah).

But he puts forward the thought, “We carry his name…he won’t abandon us totally…he will turn his face
away for awhile and we will look all but destroyed ..but he will raise
            his loyal ones up again.

The weeds will be collected OUT of his kingdom…all those causing stumbling….Then those left will be able to shine ..”

Is that true regarding the devastation of Jerusalem in 70CE, and the greater application in our time that Jesus spoke so vividly of ? No. What happened to the Jews who failed to leave Jerusalem? Were
they disciplined? No. They murdered the Christ, there was no going back
as a nation. Flavius Josephus, in his book, “The Antiquity of the Jews
Wars Against Apion” speaks of the death of one million souls inside the
city. Josephus refers to one hundred thousand taken captive, some,
think is proof that some were saved. Were they? Not at all: they went to
the arena for entertainment to be killed ( See 1 Cor 15:32 Paul’s
remarks prior to 70 CE) a regular occurrence for enemies of the State.
So how many were saved? None. They were slaughtered, not disciplined.
King well knows this as he wrote, “The fanciful belief
among Jehovah’s Witnesses is that God will protect his
so-called “visible organization” from all calamities” (Jehovah
Himself Has Become King [JHHBK}, page 169, para3).

            4. In the above point King is correct in my view. His book seems to accept the idea that Jehovah and Christ save individuals, not organisations. Although, not in so many words. There is a fatuous view among some that the WT is “God’s
Organisation.” How can an imperfect organisation, set up by imperfect
men, incorporated by the devilish system be Jehovah’s? It appears that
since they took his name and claimed to be his. He and Christ were
willing to accept that at face value, and in their sincerity, bless
them. But they took the responsibility voluntarily and they became
accountable for what they do. As in past times, rule by patriarchs was
closed, as were Judges, as were Kings (Royalty), as were Religious
Councils of older men (Sanhedrin), and special nation status (Israel),
as will be Corporate religion, all gone and no further use to Jehovah’s
purpose, “and no doubt, counted among the many towers destined to fall
            will be the Watchtower itself”. (op.cit.,para 4. p 176)

            5. It is interesting to note that after 70 CE, with the exception of the apostle John’s four letters, all writing inspired
by God stopped circa 98. CE. Why the sudden dearth of information? In
part there were many Christians who never got out of Jerusalem and the
core group of apostles just seem to vanish possibly some slaughtered in
the devastation. Plenty of dubious ideas what happened to them, but the
warning Jesus gave seemed to be ignored. Paul hinted at what was coming
Acts 20:29-30, plus the fact that Israel had turned apostate. Jehovah no
            longer supported Israel.

            6. But what does that have to do with the WT and leaving it? In his book King talks of the WT “glorifying ‘a dungy idol'” (op.cit., para3, p158) the U.N. He goes on to say “The
fact is that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society became a willing
political partner with an agency of Satan’s world and the evidence
abounds testifying to the fact that the organization has subserviently
carried out the obligation of that partnership. Not only that, but in their service to the United Nations the Watchtower has misappropriated the use of resources— both human and material—that had been dedicated exclusively to Jehovah God. (ibid para 4-5). But more than that he writes, “According to Jehovah’s judgment, that amounts to spiritual prostitution, idolatry and apostasy. There are unavoidable consequences for such wickedness. (ibid para 6)

            7. “Unavoidable consequences,” makes you wonder doesn’t it? What does that mean?

            8. So, the questions that have to be asked, can only be answered by the
reader themselves. Is Jehovah supporting it? King doesn’t seem to think
so but what do you think. Why would you return to the KH, if after reading King’s work, “There are unavoidable consequences for such wickedness.”
How do you handle going to meetings, participating and agreeing with
all that is said (at least publically) while knowing inside yourself
that much of it is wrong and that you don’t agree with it? Would not
that create a conflict of conscience? Would that be the same as
celebrating Christmas customs but secretly disagreeing with it? If you
are saying one thing but believing another, and someone finds out what
would that do for your credibility?

9.Let’s revisit Jerusalem 70 CE for a moment. When Cestius Gallus, an
appointee by Nero, as a general in the Roman army, came to bring
Jerusalem under control. Jewish rebels defended the city and after 3
days of heavy fighting Gallus being very inexperienced in warfare
(political appointee) decides to retreat, the Jews mount a counter
attack and trap Gallus and his troops at Beth Horon, a mountain pass,
where they inflict heavy casualties on the Romans. Gallus uses a ruse
and he and most of his troops escape the onslaught and march to the
Roman military base at Antipatris. But here is the deal Antipatris
is just 45km/29m from Jerusalem, a day and half march away. Gallus
regroups and after about 3 days later he does something strategically
interesting. He stations his troops in a siege formation around
Jerusalem spacing them about 10 metres apart. People living in the
fields surrounding the city flee behind its walls and for the next three an a half years no one goes in or out.

The Romans then built a palisade of timber in a ring around the city and
denuded the whole area of forest, and to this day largely barren of
            trees nearly 2000 years later.

But the town/village of Pella, settled by christians for some years, now
in modern Jordan, is more than 80km/50m away. They had long heeded
Jesus warning. Why? Because as Jesus later said to John in the
Revelation “get out of her my people if you don’t want to share in her
sins” Rev18:7. God’s people sharing in “her sins”? The Romans didn’t
stop to ask, “are you one of Jehovah’s people, here’s a nice pass to get
out of the city”. They were slain with all the rest.

            • Thinking

Thinking is a sis….and I didn’t call it Gods house ……In The last days…the apostles Peter called It That under inspired direction I beleive a IPeter 4:17…. He called it God house will be first to be judged at the appointed time…before he turned his attention to the nations.
Now I tend to beleive him..I trust him before any one else ……we go back because of the patterns set in past times..
The phrophettes Anna was rewarded in seeing baby Jesus because she was at the temple night and dayl…..yes that same corrupt temple he was going to destroy…
The priest also held baby Jesus and told Mary a little of his purpose …..that priest served in the corrupt temple that Jesus would later destroy….
Jesus taught there right up to his death….and the apostles after his death…
And no it does not cause a conflict of interest in going back and showing FAITH in Jesus ..that he will fullfill his promise to come back and rescue his people ….the faithfull ones anyway….
As Jesus said..do,as they say..don’t do as they do….

Secondly …what makes you think that those that were left behind ..do not actually represent modern day BTG…..they were the unbelievers that didn’t follow Christ and murdered him and his followers…….think about it….why cannot they have represented Christendom of today…

Russel spear headed the fleeing from BTG…..we have already fled ….
The fact that the Romans surround Jeruselum three and a half years would mean something to us today…not sure what yet ….interesting Tho….nice point
              Thanks for the conversation ?

            • #savekevin

Wow such disrespect and arrogance from a new member. It appears you are here to show us your intellect and scriptural acumen acquired over 55 years. Robert King has been here many years and i know he has imparted life saving spiritual knowledge to you and OQ. You don’t have to keep arguing until you are satisfied you have won.

On the point of whether one should attend the Kingdom Hall or not, by the lengthy quoting of dates, history, geography, even quoted Josephus, you seem to be making the point that a thinking, well-informed, educated person like yourself, simply would not attend. Most here know that we must ‘Trust in Jehovah with ALL your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding’ Pr 3:5

A head knowledge of scripture references, historical dates, places and figures does not impress Jehovah nor i say any of us here. Further, criticism and sarcasm towards the host of the site won’t get you any brownie points.

              Jer 17:7

‘Blessed is the man who puts his trust in Jehovah, whose confidence is in Jehovah’

              Pr 28:26

“Whoever trusts in his own heart is stupid, but the one who walks in wisdom will escape’

              1Co 3:18

‘Let no one deceive himself: if anyone among you thinks he is wise in this system of things, let him become a fool, so that he may become wise’

As Robert already pointed out what Jesus said: ‘WHEN you catch sight… THEN begin fleeing…’ But apparently, you guys have already worked out what the disgusting thing is and have made your move. Hope for your sake you’re right. But you ought not force your opinion onto others and urge then to jump too soon.

              The trees of Jerusalem
              https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/2d60b8622e9d61729a1c47423582abc8449825c0a816408321b50a68d6d4477f.png

“Jesus foretold that there would be wars, food shortages, disease
epidemics and great earthquakes, but that would just be the beginning.
Then Christians will be persecuted and handed over to authorities and
some even put to death. During that bleak time Jesus said “when you
catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken
about by Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place (let the reader
use discernment), then let those in Judea begin fleeing to the
              mountains.”

Just to be clear, the appearance of a disgusting thing takes place after all of the above.”

        • that somewhat answers my question at the end part “Just to be clear”

      • Lisa-Lisa

Thank you so much for your thoughts. In an odd way, I feel a close bond with the one’s who are KH free. I want to support TRUTH. Like you said…. remove oneself from their undue influence. Thank you for your understanding and compassion and encouragement .

      • Song of Hannah

Just a few thoughts to add to this delightfully deep discussion!

At Hebrews 10:24 & 25, Paul counsels “And let us consider one another so as to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking our meeting together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you see the day drawing near.”

And Proverbs 18 warns us “Whoever isolates himself pursues his own selfish desires; He rejects all practical wisdom.”

But regarding those who have difficulty going back into a KH but seem to be regularly “attending” here, I ask myself, who can say that this site does not serve as a “congregation” to them? Seems it’s filling the requirements of the above scriptures. And of other requirements I can think of, there is a functioning presiding Elder, and a number of “servants” who work to keep the congregation happy & wholesome. And the congregation is actively loyal to God and his named people. And from the posts I’ve read, the preaching of the Kindgom is still of foremost concern to many of those here.

Now, I am of the belief that attending the KH is extremely important, but for those who can’t quite stomach it because of past abuses, this site seems a viable alternative, scripturally.

If there might be something I’m missing, please chime in.

Malachi 3:16 Og de som fryktet Jehova talte da sammen.Og Jehova lyttet og hørte hva de sa.Hos ham ble det skrevet en minnebok om dem som frykter Jehova og ærer hans navn

            • Cocheta

a very beautiful verse, Arvid, also 17 & 18 are beautiful & very comforting

        • Cocheta

I thought that was great Hannah, I was also going to mention that it really seemed like a ‘proper’ meeting here last night. There was so much discussion going on & so many thoughts & Scriptures, it was wonderful. Just most of us being online at the same time made it very special indeed. (I could almost wish it could be Christmas day every day if it means we can all gather together like that)

          • Song of Hannah

Agreed! It is so encouraging here. Much, much more so than the meetings! But I still believe we need to associate with our brothers and sisters where we live, in any way possible. Because when things go south, they are going to need our love and encouragement. And I ask myself, how are they going to trust hubby & me if they’ve no idea who we are?

So we are trying to get back to meetings but can only deal with attending 1 meeting every month or so. (Gonna try again for every Sunday starting in January). But one thing hubby & I started doing was taking homemade food over to the elderly and infirm ones. It’s a big red pill for them to swallow -but they are so starved for love and attention, they overlook our weakness and are accepting of us. (We don’t bring up things we’ve learned here – throws them too over the edge. Instead we learned to ease their minds by bringing up something we found encouraging on JW Broadcasting).

Anyhow, besides encouraging them, it’s helped us a great deal, and also made it a bit easier to go to the hall.

It always sticks in my mind what Sis Thinking said: “Sometimes you have to step over the weeds to get to the wheat”. And that counsel has helped us so much. Because while trying to heal from this situation, we realized all we keep thinking about was the weeds. We hated to admit it to ourselves, but in the end, we were pining for their acceptance and approval, and mourning the derth of it. And it wasn’t helping us at all. So we decided to make a concentrated effort to stop focusing our attention on the so-called “spiritually strong”. But instead, to redirect our thinking and efforts toward the ignoble ones, like us. And it’s helped us finally make a bit of progress in our relationships here… still a lot more work to be done on our part, but we’re slowly healing here, one baby-step at a time.

            • Bklyn Kevin

because you are loving your brother’s and sister’s which is the second greatest commandment – Jehovah has blessed you and your husband with true joy and because of that joy you are able to conquer the weeds.

Romans 13:8-B for whoever loves his fellow man has fulfilled the law.

John13:35 By this all will know that you are my disciples—if you have love among yourselves.”

1 Corinthians 13:13 Now, however, these three remain: faith, hope, love; but the greatest of these is love.

    • Kevin b

That was a mouth full of great pointed questions. Seems to me you definitely get it. Going to the Kingdom Hall can be a challenge as you know from experience. As you, I find a lot of encouragement from the association here from my brothers and sisters. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Dear Robert, we all thank you for your dedication and love and faith to JEHOVAH, his Kingdom and JESUS. What you call constant repetition, has helped so many to come to a clearer understanding and love for the words of JEHOVAH and JESUS, through out the scriptures.

The sound tracks beautiful words are the expressions we read throughout the Bible.
Your teaching ability is truly a blessing to us all from JEHOVAH!!! Once again, thank you!

Jehovah must have prepared me to be just one of His idiots cause I have zero talents…

    • Arvid Fløysand

im a zero too…lets walk together and if we go behind those who happend to have a talent between 1 and 9,,then our talent may actually make the big difference in value for others

      • Peaceful Waters

We all walk together. Crippled and suppressed by this system. By Satan. By men. By our own condemnation and imperfections. No matter how talentless we may seem to ourselves or how much of a zero may may feel we are. Jehovah made you and loves you and that’s more than enough for me. I’m proud to walk with all of you in our efforts to love our God. In our journey together as His children. Together in heart we are more powerful than one can imagine. You are all perfect to me <3

Here is my special musical track for the end of https://youtu.be/9bKwRW0l-Qkthe year dedicated to all the lonely souls out there!

  • Great episode. Personally, I’m getting pretty tired of this planet. I’ve been considering the possibilities of retiring on some other planet with less people. Kinda pricey, though. Don’t roll your eyes at me. You’ve all considered colonizing other planets. The only thing keeping me here right now is yummy food, the Internet, and cat videos.

Try Venus. It is broilingly hot and swept by sulphuric acid storms.

      • As such a relative earth sized mass, Venus is not a bad suggestion. Yeah, you could melt lead on the surface, so that’s a big drawback. However, you could theoretically build ballon cities in the sky where the temperature may be within normal habitable levels, and due to its comparable size with earth, you wouldn’t have to worry about the gravity issues that you would on planets like Mars causing serious atrophy over prolonged periods of time.

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-kg0GbQkEk

        • Cocheta

Oi, you keep off Venus, that is where women come from, stick to your own planet Mars (please 🙂 )

          • Good point. That may be a good reason to check Venus off the list. War with the Venusians would be bad galactic publicity. Mars could be terraformed too, however, considering it has no magnetosphere and has less gravity, we’d essentially be dooming ourselves to an early death unless we live underground and exercise constantly. If I’m gonna do all that I might as well get married and have children.

            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CqV2EG-WP4

            • Cocheta

careful, apparently you are dooming yourselves to an early death anyway by associating with those Venus creatures……’tsk, tsk, Hah!
Just reading your blog btw. I went through your profile (typical curious female I suppose), noted your points about women communicating differently from men, your comments I agree with about Bitcoin & then segued into your blog article about Hitler & the Jews – the things I do to avoid boredom on Christmas day!!

            • Yeah. Bitcoin is doing really well. They were going for around $900.00 apiece last time I checked. Gender is a big thing right now, too. Guess I am an anomaly in modern times because I still believe there are differences between men and women. Do you have any idea how easy it is to oppress people nowadays? You don’t want to know.

              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf16ycfzy_M

            • Cocheta

I’m just glad I’m too old to be on that dating scene anymore, I would be even more confused than I am now! I’ll go check my BTC wallet & revel in being an almost millionaire. Actually, in all seriousness I wonder what will happen at the point where it says in the Bible that they will throw their silver etc out into the streets, where would BTC fit in, if at all. It’s all very interesting just now.

            • Bitcoin would be useless without the blockchain. It relies on its public ledger in order to function. Without that there would be no Bitcoin. Of course, the same could be said for almost any type of currency.

What gives gold value? Aside from some inherent properties that is special for gold, conductivity, etc, it has value because people are willing to buy it. If that support structure were to fail, gold would be worthless. If the US financial system collapsed, USD would be worthless.

Regardless of how a currency gets its value, it still needs a foundation in place to make it work. Bitcoin is more like gold than USD because Bitcoin is protected by very large numbers and there is a limited supply. In a perfect world, something like Bitcoin could make for a very stable medium of exchange. It’s safe as long as there is Internet, but it’s not without dangers.

            • Cocheta

yes, I hadn’t factored in the internet, or lack of it, which well might happen in the future days as the end draws near. I’ll check out the video tomorrow, it’s late here & I’m shivering, the temp has dropped to 17ºc, we have a sandy fog/calima from the Sahara- in fact, it looks like a ‘pea-souper’ from my balcony & breathing is going to be murder in the next 3 days, so hiding in bed is the best option 🙂

            • I wish I could curl up in bed. But I still have to go to work in a few hours. I won’t get to sleep again until around 8AM tomorrow morning. Thank God for high carb foods and caffeine.

And yes, the Internet could potentially go down for a while, but I wouldn’t be too worried about that. What fun would paradise be without any Internet access at all? I’m sure the Internet will live on in some form. Especially after humanity gets a much needed update.

I can see it now. Many developers will emerge announcing this new social networking integration. “Look!” They will shout. “Over here!” And many will follow them or add them to their online circles of friends.

Soon the true engineers will reveal themselves. Their portfolios would be very impressive. You will recognize them by their works. See that you are not deceived, though, because many false developers will arise and deceive many during the Great Configuration.

I have warned you ahead of time! And yet, even so many users will fail the captcha and the engineers will dismiss them as inhuman. I tell you the truth. Not everyone saying, “add me, add me” will be added to this promised system upon initialization. Even now, there is but a short time remaining. But the end is not yet.

Just as it was declared by Greg from the Marketing department, these times will conclude at another time when you’re most unaware; that will be the final iteration. Every iPhone and every PC, and every device, will witness this new system descending from the cloud, like an update in the night.

Indeed, it will be a miraculous sight to download. Yes, indeed, it will execute even across multiple platforms; every button shall click, and every account will authenticate. The people will be amazed at its functionality, and every user shall confess in their heart before clicking, “I accept this licensing agreement.”

But then, I have been known to exaggerate.

          • Very true! LOL (although to my generation that still means “Lots Of Love”!)

Such a great Pod cast. I downloaded in my pen drive and listened in my 7.1 Chanel home theater system. It is very interesting to know the real reason behind the ban of Jehovah’s witnesses because of their NGO status and becasue of their previous affiliation with UN ans that Jehovah did not defend them oh that;’s indeed a hot statement. (Luk.:22:47-51) Can somone help me with this? Why did Peter chop Malkuses ear of?Why did Judas kiss Jesus?(both apostles…yet two very different actions )and why did Jesus heal Malkuses ear while he told Peter to stop it…put your sword back…(keywords :eager, temper, misunderstand, offended, false, forgivness, humble)

    • Beverly kenyon

Hiya Arvid, I’m no Bklyn Kevin, LW, Joseph or Brother King but once again Peter was impeding Jesus from carrying out giving up his life for all mankind. Also there were Roman soldiers and Jewish officials armed to the teeth along with the followers of Jesus who were also armed, so the situation was very tense so when Jesus asked the soldiers and officials who they were looking for they fell to the ground (amazing) and that’s when Peter sprang into action waving his sword wildly about, (hes not a trained soldier) and he cuts Malchus’ ear off in that moment of time. John18:6. In all that fear and mayhem Jesus’ concern was for Malchus and he performs his last miracle by restoring that poor slave’s ear because let’s face it his life must’ve been miserable enough as he was Caiaphas’ slave and it was Jubilee year where slaves should be freed, bet Caiphas was not happy hearing about what Jesus did while he was trying to have arrested to be killed. No amount of miracles would convince that man that Jesus was the Messiah and he sent a slave to help arrest Jesus who preached about setting people free from slavery. Ironic! Jesus rebuked Peter about using violence and said how he could appeal to Jehovah who would send Legions of Angels to protect him but then said, scriptures had to be fulfilled that it must take place that way. Matt26:52-54. What stands out to me is that Jehovah doesn’t fleshly humans to carry out his purposes as in Peter going samurai warrior with his sword when he was really a fisherman! I also wonder what became of Malchus the slave. So much to think about in that account Arvid but it’s also emotionally painful to read…the murder of God’s Son.

      • LW

        Nice one ! Good explanation

        • Beverly kenyon

Thank you LW. I know it was a bit messy as I’m not very good at writing essays and my vocabulary is pretty weak and I had low battery so was typing furiously before my device died. I only touched on a bit of that account as there was so much involved on that night. But what I particularly liked was how Jesus showed his majestic power when they all fell down when he asked them who they were looking for…isn’t that similar to Pharoah falling down to Moses?

          • LW

I guess you could say that. They both had courage.

      • Arvid Fløysand

wonderful reply Beverly…so much to learn when we try to see the whole picture..the different personality, their way of acting and thinking…what we can learn from this…maybe even see us self in that setting …what would we do?how would we act?I really like your style of describing …:-)

        • Beverly kenyon

Thanks to you Arvid, my passion for the Gospels have been re-ignited as I can see your absolute love for those books as you’re always referring to them. I’m always drawn to the Hebrew Scriptures. Thanks Arvid.

While the Bible does not explicitly state why, what do we know about Jesus? He can read hearts, remember? 😉

Remember the occasion..it was Jesus’ last night on earth. Earlier he told the apostles that he would have to die, but they could not comprehend this fact. Peter said, “Be kind to yourself Lord. You will not have this destiny at all!”

And remember that earlier again, what did Jesus say to.the twelve apostles at the Lord’s Evening Meal? “One of you will betray me.”

Jesus could CLEARLY see who would betray him to the religious leaders.

When the mob descended on Jesus to take him in, Peter must have realized what was about to happen and in his zeal he sprung into action to defend Jesus. Judas kissed Jesus as a form of identifying the one the mob was to apprehend.

As the expression goes, like father , like son.

      • Arvid Fløysand

That was a beautiful reminder…and so so important..Jesus read our hearts…so comforting to think about…and also makes us humle…i must work on this..try my best to keep my heart clean..btw.your reply warmed my heart..thanks

Looks like SouthernShaSha has left us, that is very sad indeed. I do hope it wasn’t because of anything that has been said on here.
I shall miss her balanced views & lovely style of writing

It looks like one of her comments was deleted, but her account is still active. Maybe that’s what you noticed? One of her conversations is gone and your response to her says you’re responding to”Guest”?

One of the most dispiriting arguements I have seen on this site between brothers and sisters. It’s not the content either, it’s the demeanour. Threats, personal comments, warnings, a sister moved to apolgise for having a contrary opinion…..and don’t we all? IT is one thing to rile against the stupidity of the trolls and flat earthers, but another to treat brothers and sisters in their questioning and reasoning as enemies deserving of expulsion. From what I determine of Jehovah, and it cannot be much, we have no more than a crumb of understanding about the very meaning, the very substance of the senses that guide us: love, faith, compassion, depth of altruism, depth of empathy, fellow feeling, the reflection of our experience, the meaning of personal experience which is unique in all of us and denied even to our husbands and wives, our children and even defies explanation to the pen we write with because we have not the language to interpret our very existence. No. We exist with the very bluntest of instruments to determine right from wrong, as though we operate within our own brains with a sledgehammer and a piece of flint as a knife and shout out in our ignorance with an accusing finger as to who is right and who is wrong, who owns the truth and who should supplicate for it. Is this not what the watchtower does? Reading this exchange, I saw a new sister being brought to the edge of abandonment, others begging her not to go, yet others bridling over their own experience to dominate others with ‘truth’, the battle of ownership as to whom knows more, who has been in the truth the longest, denigrating the work, even the very words used in a fumbling for explanation of one who seeks to do no more than explain the word of Jehovah to others. When I came to this site, I thought I had found the key to the truth. The explanation, or at least an insight into the paradox that is the watchtower. And I still believe that. That some may feel so broken by the watchtower that they have fled, in their understanding, to the mountains, that maybe, just may be this site, may be spiritually to some if not all, and feel content here to reach out to others, then so be it. It was surely the same for others both at Babylon and in Jerusalem in 70 ad. But whether it is a requirement on us to stay until the disgusting thing stands there in all its glory, is surely, undeniably written, and yet, dare I condemn myself before Jehovah , his word equally says he will not test us beyond what we can endure. Is it a crime worthy of everlasting destruction that we do not deny the fact, do not compromise our faith, but deploring the sexual degradation, ignoring the money changers, the grasping greed, the burdensome yoke, the ill treatment, the lack of love, the hate, the deception…..the honest brothers and sisters, trapped, the good works that still go on, decide to come to this mountain, seeing it as a refuge, but in our uncertainty, and conflict of mind, wonder about going back? Confused as to truth in all this argument and uncertainty? Some on this site go back half-heartedly….are they to be termed ‘Luke-warm’? Of what value is it to do so? To perhaps save others if at all possible. But will our half heartedness allow us to give confidence to others as we are already classed by them as weak, and apostate. Why eat at this table, and then go and sit quietly in temple. Christ did not. Surely we should be standing in denunciation and metaphorically upsetting the tables. But we do not. We prefer to use the term cautious as serpents and innocent as doves and perhaps excuse ourselves that way…and which returns me to our small insight into Jehovah.

If we believe the spirit, no one owns this site. It is a mouthpiece of Jehovah expounded by a man given insight to do so. And Jehovah also resides in the temple of the heart. No building can contain him. The heart is within people and it is those that we go after. So we need to go where they are, where they are concentrated, or where ever they are? Well the answer is, dare I say it, wherever they may be found. Which includes the hall does it not? Good for those that search there but it is not the only hunting ground, not the only field to shepherd.

Reading the arguements below, the exchanges, I felt the grip of Satan around the throat of this site. I thought that this was just another deception, another dead end where love was just a facsimile like the watchtower, unable even to accommodate those whom Jehovah termed as lowly and unlettered so to speak, so that they may be exalted. All the principles went out of the window in an instant, in our own small understanding and we failed at the first hurdle. We, all of us are no more than mouth pieces speaking of Jehovah, dust on the scales. Is it so very difficult just to say to someone who asks, ‘this is what the bible says’ ‘this is what I understand it means….what do you think?’ And advise each other as to our own conscience, …….which is all that we can do. With love. Compassion. With valuing each other, in our ignorance, in our knowledge, with empathy for the human condition, with simply trying to emulate the example of Jehovah, through Christ, because at this point in time, I feel far closer to Jehovah considering the creation in my suburban garden, than I do here, with rancour confusion and defeat of the spirit in my brothers and sisters. If we cannot love each other, what is the point of it all? Can we not see that we are only playing at love? Love is not a wishywashy emotion, it is the deepest emotion of them all. It is in fact, the sense of what happens. It is the very spirit of Jehovah, it is strong, insightful, all knowing, with an insight, nay, a total understanding: a conjoining of spirit and all knowing insight into the creation; the science of creation, the very heart of existence, what it means to exist. Can you not feel it? Can you not sense it’s intimate and infinite depth in your very soul? What on earth do you think it is, kissing and making up? Having babies!? And yet all these words below, all this at the very beginning of the end. Where will we be at the end if we cannot show basic, oh, so basic love now? ‘This is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end, but it may be the end of the beginning. Let us therefore, go forward together.’

The (inspired Apostle Paul ) most certainly agrees with you Burt.

      Corinthians13:https://www.jw.org/en/publications/bible/nwt/books/1-corinthians/13/

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels but do not have love, I have become a clanging gong or a clashing cymbal.

And if I have the gift of prophecy and understand all the sacred secrets and all knowledge,

and if I have all the faith so as to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

And if I give all my belongings to feed others, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I do not benefit at all.

Love is patient* and kind. Love is not jealous. It does not brag, does not get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth.

It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

But if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away with; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away with.
For we have partial knowledge and we prophesy partially,
