The Watchtower’s dirty little secrets

/, JW News/The Watchtower’s dirty little secrets

The leadership of the Jehovah’s Witnesses has boldly defied court orders to turn over the names and whereabouts of alleged child sexual abusers across the United States.

Since 2014, courts have slapped the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ parent corporation – the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York – with multimillion-dollar judgments and sanctions for violating orders to hand over secret documents.

The documents could serve as a road map to what are likely thousands of alleged child abusers living freely in communities across the country, who still could be abusing kids. The files include the names of known and suspected perpetrators, the locations of their congregations and descriptions of their alleged crimes.

“I’ve been practicing law for 37 years, and I’ve never seen anything like it,” said attorney Irwin Zalkin, who represents victims of sexual abuse by Jehovah’s Witnesses. “They do everything to protect the reputation of the organization over the safety of children.”
“It’s a public safety issue,” he said. “At this point, this needs to be investigated.”Zalkin said he believes that state and federal law enforcement agencies have a moral obligation to investigate the Watchtower’s child abuse policies and seize its files.

Reveal from The Center for Investigative Reporting made repeated attempts to interview officials from law enforcement agencies who could potentially obtain search warrants for the documents – the New York and California attorneys general and U.S. Department of Justice. None of the agencies agreed to talk.

For more than 25 years, Jehovah’s Witnesses officials have instructed local leaders – known as elders – in all of the religion’s 14,000 U.S. congregations to hide sexual abuse from law enforcement. Instead, abusers were to be handled internally.

That secrecy is a tenet of the religion. Jehovah’s Witnesses are taught to avoid the outside world. They don’t vote or serve in the military and usually don’t go to college.

Predators purposefully exploit that isolation, said Kathleen Hallisey, a London attorney spearheading similar civil lawsuits in England.

“I think they choose those types of environments very carefully, where they know they can operate with impunity, and unfortunately, the policies of the Watchtower allow them to continue to do that again and again and again,” Hallisey said.

In 1997, the Watchtower issued a directive calling for elders to reportalleged child sexual abusers to the religion’s headquarters in Brooklyn, New York. The form was to be mailed in a special blue envelope.

That directive is the foundation of a database the Watchtower has collected and maintained for almost two decades, according to Watchtower documents.

“Written, demanded, commanded policy. Very different. The Catholic Church, it was unwritten. They called it ‘viva voce’ – by voice only. They didn’t have it written down anywhere, it was just understood,” Zalkin said. “Here, it’s in writing. I mean there’s no question.”

Zalkin is quite familiar with the details of the Catholic Church’s sexual abuse scandal. In 2007, he negotiated a $200 million settlement for more than 100 victims of clergy abuse. After that case made news, he began receiving calls from victims of abuse in all sorts of institutions, including universities and the Boy Scouts of America.

About a dozen of those calls came from ex-Jehovah’s Witnesses. Several of them named the same abuser: Gonzalo Campos. Those cases led Zalkin to the Watchtower’s secret documents.

Campos was a Jehovah’s Witness who sexually abused at least seven children in San Diego congregations in the ’80s and ’90s. During that time, Watchtower leaders knew Campos was abusing children but did not report him to law enforcement, according to testimony by congregation elders. Instead, they promoted him to the position of elder.

Campos would groom his victims for abuse during Bible study sessions, according to court records. One of those victims was Jose Lopez, who was 7 when Campos abused him.

“The Watchtower or the organization, I think they should have contacted the authorities and, you know, had this guy behind bars,” Lopez said.
In 2012, Zalkin filed a lawsuit against the Watchtower on behalf of Lopez.Campos has admitted to abusing Jehovah’s Witness children in a sworn deposition.

During the case, Zalkin formally requested all the letters the Watchtower had received in response to the 1997 directive. He wanted to prove a pattern, and the documents would show what the Watchtower knew about the scope of child abuse in the organization.

In 2014, San Diego Superior Court Judge Joan Lewis ordered the Watchtower to hand over the documents. The California Supreme Court upheld the order. The Watchtower refused.

Lewis kicked the Watchtower out of court and awarded Lopez $13.5 million in damages. She expressed her own frustration with the Watchtower’s tactics in her decision.

“Watchtower’s actions or omissions were ‘reprehensible.’ I think ‘disgraceful’ may be synonymous with ‘reprehensible,’ but I think ‘disgraceful’ doesn’t say enough about it,” she wrote.

“The award of punitive damages against them will hopefully send a message to Watchtower and its managing agents, the governing body of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, that their handling of sex abuse cases within their congregation was absolutely reckless.”

The Watchtower didn’t get that message. In Zalkin’s next case, he again requested the Watchtower’s child abuse files. Again, the Watchtower refused. This time, Riverside County Superior Court Judge Raquel Marquez threw the defense out of court. The cost of withholding the documents: $4 million.

Finally, in Zalkin’s next case, it looked like the Jehovah’s Witnesses had acquiesced. They agreed to hand over the documents. But with a caveat: Zalkin could not share them with anyone.

San Diego Superior Court Judge Richard Strauss agreed, and the Watchtower began sending the documents to Zalkin.

But as they arrived, he noticed something was wrong. The Watchtower hadonly sent four years’ worth of files, instead of the 19 years the court had ordered. And the Watchtower had redacted some of the most crucial information in the documents: the names of the perpetrators and the congregations.

In June, Strauss ordered the Watchtower to pay $4,000 a day until it complied with the court’s order. The Watchtower is appealing.

“They’ve made a business decision not to produce these documents,” Zalkin said.

Jehovah’s Witnesses leaders have refused to discuss the cases. Last year, they issued a statement saying they abhor child abuse and comply with all child abuse reporting laws.

The Watchtower appealed the $13.5 million ruling in the Lopez case. The appeals court ruled earlier this year that the judge should not have thrown the Watchtower out of court before trying less extreme measures, such as daily fines until it produces the documents.

But the court also upheld the order for the Watchtower to hand over all its child abuse files, unredacted except for the names of the victims. The case is back in the lower court.

Meanwhile, Zalkin currently has 18 lawsuits pending against the Watchtower.

He also has four years of redacted documents locked in a filing cabinet in his office. The judge’s protective order prevents him from saying how many documents he received or describing what they reveal about child abuse in Jehovah’s Witnesses congregations.

“It’s very frustrating to have seen what I’ve seen and to know what is going on in this institution and this organization,” he said. “It’s very frustrating when I’ve got a gag in my mouth. It’s pretty hard. We’re trying our best to expose this truth, and they’re doing everything they can to interfere with that effort, to block that effort.”

    Quote of the century……..

“They’ve made a business decision not to produce these documents,” Zalkin said.

Don’t be foolish in thinking (like I was) that there protecting Jehovah’s Great Name,
Nope. There protecting the money PERIOD.

    • noname

They think somehow if its hidden that Jehovah can’t hold it against them…..?

      • Southern ShaSha

The wrath of JEHOVAH I believe will prove otherwise. They have taken a serious wrong turn. We all have, we all sin, we all do wrong in Gods eyes, but he allows us an opportunity through His Son to be forgiven if we change our ways and plead with Him to forgive in a huge way. It takes much humility to admit exactly what we are, and to glorify Him each day of our lives. This is where the leadership has failed Him, although He knew these things would take place, as they always have with His creation. When we, or they stand up against JEHOVAH and truth, we place ourselves in the hand of satan and his lies! That is where I personally feel, not pulling away from His organization, but separating ourselves from what we see in the organization as wrong and hypocritical. The time is coming when each of us will be judged, we must take a stand in behalf of our God and His Son, that is our hope in all things!

        • Kevin b

How do we separate ourselves from the wrong doing of the organization without pulling away from it also?

          • Southern ShaSha

I believe we must recognize the truth within the organization, that is a people called out for His name. you see Kevin this has been a real road block for me, being aware that JEHOVAH does designate a group of people preaching the good news of His Kingdom as His. The organization was much different (40) years ago, then what is taking place today. My goal, hopefully in time is to go back, but……. It does go contrary to my conscience because of the very treatment toward the One we are all working to serve in Truth. I hate the crimes against children, I hate the worldly involvement by the society and the 1914 farce, and yet JEHOVAH knows what His plan is and to remain independent of His organization could be looked at as I know better than He. So it is probably my biggest fear, “am I going against a provision he has set out for me. Am I? Wish I had the answer, I do pray a lot on how He wishes me to handle it. Am I lacking humility, or standing up for Him and His truthful Righteous standards. I wish I had the answer, otherwise, loving, serving, telling others of His Glorius New Kingdom at hand, is the joy in my life.

            • Kevin b

Thanks for your response. I am an active JW. Knowing the real truth and being active in the congregation is quite the balancing act. I was hoping you were going to give me some wonderful insight in how to you accomplish this. The self righteousness of the witnesses is alive and well in the congregation. If you don’t walk the walk and talk the talk you won’t fit in. So its tough to be there, but there is no where else to go. I feel good about being on the outskirts of the congregation, but nobody understands why one would choose to be happy on the edge. In time hopefully all will see clearly that the Watchtower is falling apart and will walk away from the crazy.

            • Burt Reynolds

Looking at your question, I don’t think it can be answered as its a personal journey for us all. But, if it was me, it would think I was hanging on to the congregation, the hall, the experience, when I should be throwing that burden on Jehovah. Would it matter to me if I was on the periphery? No. In fact a large proportion of JWs probably wish they were out of the limelight! If I was thrown out, that would not bother me. No one can throw me out of Jehovah’s house except Jehovah and that would be my fault. You don’t have to fit in. Do you need to do a balancing act. In fact, you might like to stick out as one who has ‘something’., after all, how many read Roberts work in his congregation! And are we not supposed to be there for people to turn to us when there is a need for explanation. How will they know unless we tell them our views? I don’t know Kevin, I’m just grasping at straws. The congregations are changing, the seams are coming apart. I don’t go to the hall, so I really shouldn’t advise you. Others will have their own opinion. I have a maxim….if I don’t know what to do, I do nothing. ( because I might make it worse!). Maybe you are motoring along just fine, but don’t realise it !

            • Kevin b

I feel good about what I’ve learned from Robert, and how I have changed in the congregation. Even though we are still blind to some degree, I don’t feel as blind as the brothers and sisters at the hall. Its funny to a degree to see these ones and how cocksure they are that they are in the “truth”. They have a lot to learn. Everybody at the hall seems to be focused on pleasing each other and impressing each other and not Jehovah. It’s really hard to fake it. It’s good to know most of us are in the same boat. We help each other deal with it so we can continue on. Associating here with the ewatchman family helps keep me sane in an insane situation. It’s also hard on my wife and kids fitting in, but their support and understanding in the real truth is great.

            • Southern ShaSha

Dear Kevin, I do admire all who can manage such a balancing act. Hopefully, I too will be able to reach that goal in my life. I appreciate all on this site working through all sorts of personal struggles. If we rely on JEHOVAH, I hope and pray He will give us the much needed guidance to do whatever is needed to accomplish His will!!!

              I agree

            • wish4truth2

The scripture says, to whom shall we go away to, not where else do we go. we would never leave Christ, but we would leave a false religion. We have Gods word, faith and the holy spirit. what organisation did the prophets belong to? God deals with individuals, always has. They thrived whilst being all alone, so can we. Get out of her you people, if you do not want to share in her sins. that scripture could not be more true.

            • KB

Welcome wish4truth2. I can understand your point of view. You ask what organization did they belong to? There were the 7 congregations mentioned in the Bible that worshiped Jehovah back in the 1st century. The JW organization is based on that arrangement. We know it has many faults but I don’t think I would label it in will false religion, even though it has taught some falsehoods. Once it’s obvious that the organization has clearly because an antichrist, then I feel it’s time to get out of her you people, not until then.

            • wish4truth2

Congregations are not an organisation, the first century congregations were far from an organisation like the JW org they were simply ecclesia in private homes. An organisation is cold and devoid of human feeling, something that never came up in Gods mind. Read Crisis of Conscience it demonstrates how far they went against Christs headship in the congregations when they thought they knew better than Christ by setting up an organisation as a better way to get the preaching work done.God does not have an organisation on Earth, never has, but continues to have ecclesia. The proof that the JW org is a false religion is screaming out at us,it has taught many many falsehoods and is clearly guided by Satan- see 2 Thess Chapter 2. To get an idea of how many lies and false teachings look at jwfacts.com. Also read page 33 from the Book You can live forever in Paradise on earth, by their own words they instruct us to leave if a religion is not in full agreement with the Bible. We know their teachings go far beyond what is written. do we need any more proof than 1914 being calculated from the occult practice of measuring pyramids? what more proof do you want? Its all there in front of you, try the 607BCE lie. What about the child abuse lies in court, lies lies and more lies all because Satan is their Father, Revelation does not tell us when to get out, but says get out if you do not want to share in her sins. The JW org sins are very great and continue to get greater and are massing clear up to heaven, when we open our eyes and wake up, this is the time for us as individuals to get out. Christ is there for us when we do.

              Wise decision, Hate those sites!

            • KB

Thanks for letting me know. I hate it when people delete their posts, but now it makes since that it was you. It’s a little strange that someones 3rd comment has exjw links.

            • wish4truth2

KB, why is it a little strange? We are just a humble family (husband ,wife and 17yo daughter) who have been in the org all our lives. For me, 45 years before I woke up, but i knew many things were wrong for years including scriptural reasoning, I got into trouble many times for questioning doctrine and the GB. I could not put my finger on why, till I finally plucked the courage to look on the web about 3 years ago. It was about then we left the Organisation, we became aware that we no longer needed men, we had Christ. What helped me awaken? ALL the ex JW sites including Roberts site.Since then,we as a family have Bible reading each week and continue to study spiritual deep things of God including Roberts articles and videos. We print articles out x 3 and study them as a family. ( Where two or three are gathered together in my name….)as we work hard to put the ingrained WT thinking and mentality out of our minds we gain more and more knowledge, spirituallity and appreciation of real truth, WE REJOICE! – the truth had set us free. Thanks to the God in Heaven! and Thanks to Roberts hard work and All ex JW sites they have all helped us do this.

            • KB

There are many exjw websites out there that promote JWs to leave the organization. Roberts is the only one that I know of that doesn’t. Quite the opposite here, we are encouraged to stay until a future time. Many JWs who are curious and look on the internet for questions many time stumble onto a truly apostate website and can totally lose faith all together. By putting that link in your comment (3rd comment) in fact, it gave IMO the impression you were promoting it. Which can undermine the faith of ones whom the WT has already stumbled to a degree. We don’t need that here, and it just gave me the wrong impression. I think its safe to say that all here have been stumbled by WT in some form or another. Robert doesn’t want to be linked with those types of websites. The last thing I want to do is offend you by making that statement, I’m very sorry if it did. I just thought it was strange, nothing more, nothing less. Once again welcome, glad to have more here that see the WT for what it really is. I’m glad that your whole family is on board with the things you have learned here as well. This stuff can really break up family’s. You are blessed in that way. I remember when I first started learning on here the real truths of Jehovah. I struggled with staying too. I emailed Robert about this topic years ago. He told me that if I stopped going to the meetings and service, that when the time came for us to leave the WT, and I wasn’t there, then my credibility could be called in to question by the active JWs at the Kingdom Hall. So I choose to stay. No one would listen to someone who left the congregation years ago. Most JWs that I know think they know it all already anyway. The thing I look forward to the most, is to try to explain to the friends whats going on when things go south so to speak. That’s why I stay. It’s not easy, I understand that, but that why I stay. Robert once said that his goal was to reach about 1% of the JWs with his message or 1 person in each Kingdom Hall. We all have to do what’s best for us and our family’s. But for me, my future territory is my congregation and I’m gonna try my best, for the life of me, to stay, no matter how hard it is to suck up hearing this 1914 crap at almost every meeting. I’m gonna get the last laugh, I want Jehovah to be able to use me to the full when the time is right. I look forward to your future comments brother.

            • wish4truth2

Hi KB thanks for your reply. We are naive to all the apostate politics on the web, we only know it was a source of great help to assist in understanding and the cognitive dissonance we were suffering at the time. We can very well understand why other sites encourage leaving the JW Org as the JW Org encourages people to leave other religions based on their falsehood and lies. For us though it would have been wrong to cut ourselves off from the freedom of learning everything we could on all web sites and be fully informed. The WT teaches it was wrong to look outside the organisation so they can control the Brothers and Sisters from seeing the truth about the JW org even its own history, the result? they might leave.
We now realize our newfound Christian freedom. Christ said his yoke was kindly and load light. We discovered this: As soon as man mediates our faith by telling us what we should do it becomes a burden that we must labour under. All due respect to Robert as a humble man, he is after all, just a man and this is the opinion of one man. What he sees in scripture by assistance from Holy Spirit, that same Holy Spirit assists us as individuals as well, no man is above another, we are all brothers and sisters, we must not call anyone our leader except Christ. All things spoken though, must be proven by scripture as did the Beroeans and we cannot go beyond what is written. Myself and my family have not found anything in scripture to say we must stay within a wicked apostate organisation that teaches false doctrine.
I can see that you believe the JW org has special significance in God’s eyes and hence the reason why you want to stay. We have found by studying the Bible ( keeping Wt indoctrination out of mind), the JW org has no more significance than the rest of Babylon the Great. The Organisation by their own definition in the pages of the WT magazine, prove themselves that they are part of Babylon the Great Why? Because false teachings and lies are the proofs for all religions… see for instance the WT publication : “Gods Kingdom Rules” Chapter 2 subheading “Get out of her my People” page 16-17 paragraph 15. It is stated in part: The Bible students taught it was necessary to break away from worldly churches……….. all the churches of Christendom were included in modern- day “Babylon”. Why? Because they all taught Doctrinal lies.
Need I list the numerous false doctrinal lies the Organisation has adhered to, discarded and flip flopped over the last Century? Deuteronomy 18:21-22 comes to mind: And in case you should say in your heart: “How shall we know the word that Jehovah has not spoken?” 22 when the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word does not occur or come true, that is the word that Jehovah did not speak. With presumptuousness the prophet spoke it. You must not get frightened at him.
What about the larger remainder of Babylon the great? They are people loved by Christ but also mentally enslaved in another of Satan’s many religions, Christ died for all, not just those in the Jehovah’s Witnesses religion. All those in the graves will come out either to life or Judgement, none will miss out. .It then comes down to individuals scattered Earth wide in all religions and beliefs, the God of heaven is searching individual hearts. The test that is coming is coming upon the entire world, not just one group or religion. There are many scriptures that tell us not to be part of this kind of satanic falsehood and none I am aware of, that encourage us to be part of it. The constant bad association and sitting with wicked men( ie:the Leadership) would spoil not only my progress toward the truth Christ preached but I would be very concerned for my family’s form of worship being false before God, the exposure to false doctrine and peer pressure to conform on a weekly basis in order not to arouse suspicion from the brothers, we only wish for truth. .Our father is looking for those to worship him in Spirit and truth. We as a family have faith in Christ’s leadership and know that none will be missing, as the heavenly father and the Son will gather those that are lost, scattered, dispersed and sickened in the day of thick gloom he will heal them. Ezekiel Chapter 34. Once again, we all have Christian freedom now, I am not telling you what you should do, simply telling you what we learned in the last 2 years absent from the influence and indoctrination of the JW org.

Hi KB, the family and I replied to you our comment above but checking this morning we found it has disappeared??. maybe a glitch or we did it wrong? this one is a test. If not we want to say ,We are naive to these kind of controlling politics, being in the organisation all our lives, never looking at any web sites all those years, we are not yet educated in such things. We do not know what we did wrong, my family only replied with freedom of speech with no reference to web sites or “blogs” ( we googled what a blog is ; “a regularly updated website or web page”) or books as I was informed in a previous comment?

            • KB

Yea, I got the email notification that you replied, but it never was posted to the site. I understand how you feel. You make many valid points brother. Im glad you and your family are happy worshiping and serving Jehovah the way you do. I’m looking forward to the day when the man of lawlessness is revealed.

Yes, thanks. I’m glad you and your family are here. Hoping we can help each other figure all of this out together.

            • wish4truth2

We have many things to share with you from scripture, but we realize we cannot speak freely. We, as imperfect people, have this tendency like Israel of old to rejected the invisible in favor of what we can see and follow.. Christ showed us a far better way, faith!

            • wish4truth2

Hi KB , we have rewrote some of our previous comment that dissappeared. We are naive to all the apostate politics on the web, we only know it was a source of great help to assist in understanding and the cognitive dissonance we were suffering at the time. We can very well understand why other sites encourage leaving the JW Org as the JW Org encourages people to leave other religions based on their falsehood and lies, this is only natural, even based on scriptural direction. All the way through my comments, my words apply to myself and my family, This is what we found in scripture, I am not applying it to you or anyone else, for we are all individuals that stand before God and Christ, we all have Christian Freedom, we judge no man.
For us though, it would have been damaging to cut ourselves off from the freedom of learning everything we could on all web sites and be fully informed. The WT teaches it was wrong to look outside JW org, that way they can control the Brothers and Sisters from seeing the truth about everything even its own history, the result? Well, they might wake up and leave!
We now realize our newfound Christian freedom. Christ said his yoke was kindly and load light. From the inverse side of Christ’s words here, we saw an important lesson, something to avoid: As soon as man mediates our faith by telling us what we should do it becomes a burden that we must labour under.

Hi KB thanks for your reply, i will try again, as my comments keep disappearing.
All due respect to Robert as a humble man, he is after all, just a man like us and this is the opinion of a man. What he sees in scripture by assistance from Holy Spirit, that same Holy Spirit assists us as individuals as well, no man is above another, we are all brothers and sisters, we must not call anyone our leader except Christ, so we look to him alone. All things spoken though, must be proven by scripture as did the Beroeans and we cannot go beyond what is written. For myself and my family though, have not found anything in scripture to say we must stay within a wicked apostate organisation working according to the operation of Satan, that teaches false doctrine.
If a person perceives that the JW org has special significance in God’s eyes and hence wants to stay that is their choice. We have found it different through our study of the Bible (when we kept the Wt indoctrination out of mind), we found the JW org has no more significance than the rest of Babylon the Great. You see the Organisation by their own definition in the pages of the WT magazine and publications, prove by their own written words that they are part of Babylon the Great! How so? The JW org use false teachings and lies as a proof for all religions… see for instance the WT publication: “Gods Kingdom Rules” Chapter 2 subheading “Get out of her my People” page 16-17 paragraph 15. It is stated in part: “The Bible students taught it was necessary to break away from worldly churches……….. all the churches of Christendom were included in modern- day “Babylon”. Why? Because they all taught Doctrinal lies.”
We are all aware of the numerous false doctrinal lies the Organisation has taught, adhered to, discarded and flip flopped over the last Century. Deuteronomy 18:21-22 comes to mind: “And in case you should say in your heart: “How shall we know the word that Jehovah has not spoken?” 22 when the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word does not occur or come true, that is the word that Jehovah did not speak. With presumptuousness the prophet spoke it. You must not get frightened at him.” Worse still, the scripture says that false prophet must die.
What about the larger remainder of Babylon the great? They are people loved by Christ also, they too are mentally enslaved in another of Satan’s many religions, Christ died for all, not just those in the Jehovah’s Witnesses religion. To think otherwise would be selfish. The doctrine of two hopes introduced by Rutherford (who by his own admission “made an ass of himself”, nothing he predicted ever come true, this two hope doctrine contributed greatly toward very selfish thinking. It has created a Paradox of messed up belief and portrayed our heavenly father as cruel and inconsistent toward mankind being equal and having equal opportunity in Christs sacrifice. (Which incidentally has caused the preaching of a false good news, not like that which Christ commanded his disciples to preach). All those in the graves will come out either to life or Judgement, none will miss out, just as the scripture says. So really, it comes right down to individuals scattered Earth wide in all religions and beliefs, the God of heaven is searching individual hearts. The test that is coming is coming upon the entire world, not just one group or religion singled out because they teach/or think that they are favoured by God. There are many scriptures that tell us not to be part of any form of satanic falsehood and none I am aware of, that encourage us to be part of it. For my family, constant bad association and sitting with wicked men ( ie: the Leadership) would spoil not only my progress toward the truth Christ preached but I would be very concerned for my family’s form of worship being false before God, this exposure to false doctrine and peer pressure to conform on a weekly basis to walk the walk, talk the talk and not to arouse suspicion from the brothers, for us we would only be giving the WT power over us to sit there under false pretences and wish for truth. We felt strongly, from scripture, something more was needed, the scripture says, our father is looking for those who worship him in Spirit and truth. We as a family have faith in Christ’s leadership and know that none will be missing, as the heavenly father and the Son will gather those that are lost, scattered, dispersed and sickened in the day of thick gloom he will heal them. Ezekiel Chapter 34. Our faith says we don’t need a visible king over us as Israel wanted in days of old.
Once again, we all have Christian freedom now, he gives his spirit freely to those who ask him. I am not telling you what you should do, simply telling you what we learned in the last 2 years in the absence from constant influence and indoctrination of the JW org, thanks be to our heavenly Father and his Christ who long before we formed our mistaken beliefs and followed a false religion, saw some good in us, forgave us and gave his life for the world. They had loved us long before we loved them.

What we will do, when Atalaya comes down because sexual abuse? What should we do, if we still are Jehovah witnesses ? I’m so afraid.

            • Beverly kenyon

Marisa, we should step away from the ‘Rebels’ when Atalaya, (Watchtower) comes down and it’s Jesus that will be bringing down Atalaya. Brother King wrote a really good article about stepping away from them when the fall happens. We have Jesus as King fighting our corner and here are some reassuring and comforting scriptures from God’s word….especially Proverbs 3:25,26. Pslm:27:1. John14:27.

              Jeremiah Versus the Watchtower.

              Excerpt:
Just as Jerusalem and its temple were decimated, so too, Jesus also foretold a similar desolation will come upon that which is represented by Jerusalem. Jesus said: “However, when you catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation standing where it should not be (let the reader use discernment), then let those in Judea begin fleeing to the mountains. Let the man on the housetop not come down nor go inside to take anything out of his house; and let the man in the field not return to the things behind to pick up his outer garment.”

When the time arrives for the desolation of the holy place there will be nothing left of it to salvage. The faithful will be forced to flee, as it were. By that means Jehovah will finish our training and ultimately mold his people into the type of organization that he pleases.

              The Antichrist Is Coming!.

              LIFE-SAVING DIRECTION”?
              Excerpt:
Who can dispute the fact that the Watchtower wields absolute control over the spiritual lives of all of Jehovah’s Witnesses? For example, here is a quote taken directly from paragraph 17 in the November, 2013 Watchtower:

When “the Assyrian” attacks, the elders must be absolutely convinced that Jehovah will deliver us. At that time, the life-saving direction that we receive from Jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint. All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.

Why is it assumed without question that the Watchtower (“Jehovah’s organization”) will issue “life-saving direction” in the future? And why would God’s instructions appear impractical?

When Jesus forewarned us not to believe any reports – no matter the source – regarding the whereabouts of Christ, is it possible that the leadership of Jehovah’s Witnesses will be the source of announcements and “life-saving” instructions regarding Christ being in the “inner chambers” of Bethel, in whatever form Bethel may exist then? Has not Jesus himself already issued life-saving instructions; namely, that we should not believe anyone who claims to have special knowledge or instructions regarding his whereabouts and that we should flee without delay when the disgusting thing stands where it ought not? If the Watchtower claims it will be the source of “life-saving direction” during a critical time, is it not setting itself up to stand in the place of Christ? https://e-watchman.com/antichrist-coming/

While it remains to be seen whether an individual like Judas will ultimately emerge, taken in their totality the writings of the prophets and apostles, as well as the pattern of the first century, indicate that the antichrist will come from within Christ’s congregation. And given the fact that the Watchtower has been the source of the deluding influence, it is simply out of the question that the same institution that has promoted a faux parousia will be used by God to issue life-saving directions.

Yes, there is no question about it, the Watchtower is the antichrist that is coming!

I’m feeling terrified….but thanks brother,,,,,your answers are very important for me. Thanks for your time.
I have some questions that turn around my head,,,,like ¿Is really Jesus who appear in revelation 6:2 ? His description is different in revelation 19:13,,,,Jesus is followed by armies and the horses all of them are white ,,,,riders are dressed white , clean , fine linen. The fourk riders of revelation 6 working in destruction,,,so I think is great tribulations…..and great tribulations is by Satan…
Please let me know if I wrong…. thanks fo your attention.

            • Bklyn Kevin

Marise I would say you’re on point.

Here is an article written by Robert king that will help you refine your thoughts.

Is Jesus the rider of the white horse?
              Excerpt:
ANSWER: Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords – and contrary to the Watchtower’s present teaching, he also bears the title Prince of princes. However, there are competing kings within Jesus’ domain who do not at present recognize his authority. Therefore, as the sixth chapter of Revelation states Jesus goes “forth conquering and to complete his conquest.” It is, then, at the completion of his conquest that Jesus will be the sole king ruling the world – along with his 144,000 associate kings, of course.

A bow is used to fight from some distance, whereas a sword can only be effective in close-up warfare. So, the symbolism in Revelation first depicts Christ riding forth with a bow to engage the enemy from a distance. Then in the 19th chapter he is pictured bearing a sword, not in his hand, but in his mouth. In other words, his very word can slay the enemy. And just as David acquired the crown of Malcam through conquest Jesus has many diadems as he goes forth for the final war – symbolizing that no one among the enemies of God will have any authority at that point. Vs 3…” And Elohim proceeded to say: etc.?
Vs 4…” After that Elohim saw that…etc. ?

Hi KB, I have re-posted without the reference to any other ex JW site or books, This is my first time ,I was not aware that I could not, sorry Robert. At least we know the information and proof is out there for all who want to see. I respect your decision as it is between us and God.Christ is the way the truth and the life, he alone is our mediator. Men though, and their organised religion what can I say, we would never ever follow again, we have learned our lesson.
              Re-post below.
Congregations are not an organisation, the first century congregations were far from an organisation like the JW org they were simply ecclesia in private homes. An organisation is cold and devoid of human feeling, something that never came up in Gods mind. Raymond Franz demonstrated how far the org went against Christs headship in-charge of the congregations when the Bible students thought they knew better than Christ by setting up an organisation as a better way to get the preaching work done! God does not have an organisation on Earth, never has, but continues to have ecclesia. The proof that the JW org is a false religion is screaming out at us,it has taught many many falsehoods and is clearly guided by Satan- see 2 Thess Chapter 2. To get an idea of how many lies and false teachings look at ……….. What more proof do we need? Its all there in front of us, try the 607BCE lie as well.

It was brought out to me that the provision, the temple, since the destruction of the temple in 70 ad is in the heart. The choice of the brothers come the tribulation, will be theirs to make. Can we do anything to assist that? Could we leave that to those who are there, and we continue to preach as we can? What are my credentials being new to this congregation and Unknown, whose doors are managed by theocratic ‘bouncers’ and whose place of worship is monitored by police due to persecution over the abuse scandal? These are the questions I ask myself, and, obverse to Kevin’s situation, I have family who know nothing except bad of the witnesses and whom I would loose if I took this course of action before they could understand. And they need it seems, the tribulation to awaken them. And so this iPad is my hall, my iPad is my witnessing territory, and my prayer is my pleading with Jehovah. I am drained mentally of the hall and its machinations as described by Kevin, but I have the utmost love for the brothers and sisters that go. I applaud them because they have it all. I feel that I lack this one part in my reconciliation to what I know now . My comfort comes in part, for my concience, in Paul’s ( I think) words, to those putting preaching before marriage….’if you have room for it, make room for it…..but if you don’t….. (It is better to make a compromise of service, than suffer the consequences of sin, in other words, that Jehovah knows the human condition has physical and mental limits in human choice…not his). (I know I’m quoting out of context, but I am relying on the sentiment overall). Have I made enough ‘room’ for it? Has my time in duration earnt a talent or two? Have I made the right decision now? Am I enduring to the end at the expense of yet more loss to this organisation? ( I have already lost one family to it). Jehovah has said he will not let us be tested beyond our endurance. Have I endured to that point? I sometimes think the conflict in my mind says yes, and so I eventually lay my head on the resolution that I came to when I left the organisation, but retained faith, and that was that ‘Jehovah is more merciful than his people’.

            • Southern ShaSha

Dear Burt, absolutely share your sentiments. It never ends. Reading Shelleys experiences is heartbreaking. For others, anyone to make the suggestion that “JEHOVAH does not hear your prayers” by what they deem as a sin that alienates one from God, who are we to tell others what God will or will not hear. Love has certainly grown cold. JESUS, listened to all, knew all were sinners, those being the very ones He comforted. We must as a people, Jehovahs witnesses, treat one another with love and affection, compassion and understanding. the scriptures state that “all will know by the love we share amongst one another.” We keep recruiting others to join us, yet don’t take care of the ones considered to be our brothers. It ends up more a numbers game, a club of sorts. Not one should be stumbled in the course of making efforts to come to know and serve the Most High in the universe. We can only beg for forgiveness in our errors and pray for change. And pray for all in their pain and struggles!

            • Burt Reynolds

How can Jehovah not hear prayers from people who smoke when he answers their prayers for truth? There is a real contradictory malady in the congregations at this time. The balance of thinking (not sister Thinking !!!) has been weighted and the brothers are running around confused and hopeless, lashing out at those who do not do as they are told quickly enough or to order. How can this seem attractive to those seeking truth!? No small wonder Sally and Shelley feel the way that they do.

          • Christian Obadiah

All the things they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds, for they say but they do not practice what they say.

I want to applaud you as well Kevin. I can’t fathom how you are able to balance these things. I’m more in the position of @southernshasha:disqus because I have been inactive for almost 20 years now. If you don’t mind my asking…were you active when you found Robert’s site?

            • Kevin b

Born and raised in the truth. Never really have been missing from the meetings. I’m in my 40’s now. I found Roberts site about 5 years ago. I’ve served as an elder for a few years in the past. Absolutely no way I would or could serve as one now. Just floating along, trying to look after and encourage the ones who the congregation really doesn’t care about. If you’re not an elder, MS, or a pioneer you really are looked down upon. Yet Jesus never treated anyone that way. The judgment and hypocrisy of the friends in the hall is amazing. I really don’t expect too much from the friends anymore, I’m just gonna leave it in Jehovahs hands. The witnesses preach that they are full of love, but from what I see, it is clearly a conditional love. If you aren’t following the program that the branch lays out you are cast aside. My wife and I both have a lot family in the truth, so we can’t leave. Just hanging on for now, WAITING.

            • Simpletruth

Thanks for sharing. Yes, I was raised in the truth as well and baptized at the tender age of 9. I left in my early 20’s and am almost 40 now. I am so grateful to have found this site because it has led me to a truth that I never could have gotten otherwise. In fact, it has truly helped me to get my relationship with Jehovah back on track despite the fact that I don’t currently attend meetings. I still pray about that though because I do feel torn sometimes. I think that if I had found this info while active I would be better off because I would already be a part of a congregation. I moved away from my hometown and family (who are majority witnesses) from the West Coast to the East Coast appx 10 years ago. I have tried to go back to meetings within the last year in my current area but it is hard to fit in. I don’t know how to go back to being ALL IN like I once was. I just see things from a whole new perspective, as I’m sure you know. Because of that…I know that if I did go back I would be on the outskirts and people would view me as weak or as bad association. And, as I’m sure you know, the friends aren’t quick to try to fellowship with a new person attending the meeting who doesn’t jump right into the program. I just pray that Jehovah helps me figure out what to do. Thanks again for sharing your story:-)

            • Cocheta

have you tried just going to the Public talk, ST? I think that is very easy to do & at least you feel comforted knowing you are under the congregation prayer & are singing a song of praise to Jehovah, I find it really beneficial.

Just at the moment because we have our little toddler we are gently breaking her in to stay a little quiet for a little longer each week – the problem is that her nap is at midday & she has a snack before that so we are trying to change her routine too, but we are persevering.

The friends are not at all friendly & the Elders are witch-hunting me but it is my right to go to a Public talk without being hounded (I actually dread it every week)
All these sound like excuses not to go, but believe me I have prayed hard about it (& also prayed for everyone here that we are guided as to what to do) but if you don’t know my story I am ‘under surveillance’ because I believe what Bro Robert says & I have had 2 unwanted visits from different elders trying to persuade me to stop visiting here & take yet another Bible study to get me back under control of the Org.

I simply cannot stomach the other meetings because I am more than disgusted with the leadership & also the attitude of the congregation elders, let alone the average witnesses there, they are not terribly friendly & never have been – they seem to view us as black sheep verging on goatlike!

I do want to go to the KH because I know it IS Jehovahs organisation, but the very thought of satan driving it turns my stomach & I feel that by going all in I am condoning the wrong I see in there.
I am still praying & waiting for direction from Jehovah.

            • Simpletruth

Thanks so much for the encouragement!!! I will definitely pray to Jehovah about how to incorporate at least the Public Talk into my life. My biggest problem is that I have a real problem with fake people.
I can’t stand coming off that way nor can I stand people who are that way. I know I probably need to pray about that because that has been my biggest hindrance when it comes to trying to go back (even on a limited scale)

I need to understand how to be true to myself while in the presence of so many individuals who come off as self – righteous just because they are in “the truth” . That has been so challenging for me to deal with even prior to reading Bro King’s information.

However, as you stated, it is Jehovah’s organization…no matter how screwed up it is right now. He will set matters straight in his own due time.

Jehovah knew I needed to hear your story and how you are fighting through your struggles with the very same thing. So, again…I thank you!!!:-)

Oh ok. You both are technically more East Coast than me. I’m in GA which is termed south, I suppose. But it’s in the Eastern Time Zone so that’s why I say that:-)

            • Burt Reynolds

I’m on the east coast too…..of England, about 3,300 miles away, but I feel next door to you and Stephen. I thought Stephen was in California for some reason. Especially with that truck of his. I visited Virginia in 1989 and was staying in Annandale. Nice place. I visited Washington to see the apple blossom there and see the white house. Then I drove across America in a Winnabaga rv.

            • Kevin b

Across the pond doesn’t feel so far away with modern technology. The apple blossom festival is truly a sight to see. Im hoping to do a similar road trip in the near future.

            • Burt Reynolds

I got lost in Chicago and ended up at Custers last stand, went down through Montana, saw the Grand Canyon and carved my name on a rock, down to Arizona and Jackson where there is the antler arch and out into California where I was set up for a car accident fraud by someone parking up right behind me out of sight of my mirrors so that I reversed into him. Frightening seeing policemen with guns. I put my hands up to approach one for directions. Beautiful country, especially Montana.

            • Burt Reynolds

It Seems to me Kevin that you have the exact balance of a true brother….advising, staying with the congregation, seating yourself at the lowest table, not taking the lead with a corrupt organisation, so that no one can accuse you of double standards, humbling yourself but staying sound in your advice and authoritative in the scriptures, and, the greatest of these, love, putting your own feelings behind those of your extended family and resolving to stay with them right through until the end. And you are worried? I would give my back teeth to be in your position before Jehovah…..and I have them too in a drawer upstairs…..(posterity)…and I find your magnanimity and love for others a heartening example to me. Maybe your feelings of self doubt are instead mistaken for a pre-emptory grieving for the organisation and what it should have been but is not. This is something we all identify with and so you are not alone. In fact, you seem a leader in the truth to me.

            • Peter

Kevin, the last couple replies all show wisdom, and you show the same wisdom floating along putting up with all that’s wrong inside the org. And yet, all here have witnessed prophecy being fulfilled within God’s house, yes, the sighing and groaning over all the unloving things done in Jehovah’s name. But those who truly seek him, they will find him. Everyone here today found the truth so we found him. And like the holy place in the past, God allowing his own people for his name be destroyed, so likewise he will bring justice again. The nations are already shaking finanically and world war gets louder by the day, and the watchtower sinks lower every day, so the ball is already rolling there’s no stopping it now. Justice is coming!

Very encouraging to hear your comments KB. Sounds like we are in a similar situation, except that we only came across this site about 8 months ago. If you don’t mind me asking, how old are your children? Ours are 16 & 14 and they are the ones I worry about most. They can see the things that go on in the congregation, just as we do, and they follow along with the truths we are learning on Robert’s posts, but where does that leave them? My 16 year old daughter cries, because she does not feel she could ever go through the baptism questions and honestly say yes to being loyal to the governing body, but she has total love for Jehovah and Jesus and has already dedicated herself to Jehovah in her heart. But how will she be viewed by others in the congregation as time goes by and she is not baptised, she will not be viewed as good association by any other young ones. At present there is not really any young ones for them to be friends with in this congregation, but they keep in touch with their old friends from our previous congregation interstate, by skype. What will they and indeed my own parents think, if time goes on in this system (let’s pray it does not) and they are still unbaptised. Are they doomed to a life of solitude, not fitting into the congregation or the world. I tell them, to take one day at time, as Jesus said, but it’s very hard. When will this madness end??? So glad to be able say this here, you all inspire me so much! 🙂

            • KB

The information we have learned here, in a since is a two edged sword. It’s hard to be in the limelight at the Kingdom Hall knowing “ttatt”. Once you know it you can’t unknow it. It’s like when Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and bad, she and Adam couldn’t undo it. In their case it meant their death, and imperfection for their offspring. In our case knowing these truths could mean life for you and your family in the long run, Jehovah willing of course. I haven’t really educated my youngest child on these truths on ewatchman. It’s a lot to take in. We started last week on chapter 1 of Roberts book as part of family worship. That sounded like we’ve been doing family worship all along, but to be honest I can’t remember when we stopped, it’s been awhile. We can’t live in the past, just move forward right. Hopefully she will understand these things as your daughter does, wonderful job you and Kevin have done. You both sound like great parents. Its just tough being in this position, I know, we here definitely get it. It’s funny how we are told to follow the example that Jesus set while he was on the earth, except the age he was when he was baptized. If anyone questions us, that’s what I say. Two things generally happen next, 1st they shut up, 2nd you can see their wheels start turning, and it makes them think. Your oldest child has a lot in common with my youngest. If you’ve read any of my past comments you know I have the tendency to be maybe overly cautious on the information I post on here. You never know who could be watching. I’ve never done the Skype thing but FaceTime we have if that’s an option. I will post my private email if you want to get more information from me and maybe get the kids together. My youngest may be a little shy to try this but I’ll see. My email is icanhandlethetruth13@gmail.com. All here are also welcome to my email. So far Joseph Stephen is the only one who has it.

I’m reluctant to post this comment, but I’ll go ahead anyway and say it….Please delete it if it’s improper. This whole baptism thing seems to have mushroomed into a corporate possessive manipulation tool of WT. Why couldn’t say, your husband, your daughter’s father just baptize her? I distinctly remember an interview (I think it was the wives of deceased GB members) on the broadcast where one of the sisters said “my Pa took me out back to the creek and baptized me.” Why not??

            • Tabitha

Yes, I think you are right Anderiega, and that would be totally acceptable to our family, in fact we have even discussed it. It would not however be viewed by any congregation as legitimate baptism which is what we are all up against. It becomes more and more amazing to me how everyone just accepts what is said in the publications without question. At last weeks meeting when they read about Rutherford announcing at the convention in 1922 that “millions living will never die”, I looked around the hall for any signs of life, but saw none. I wanted to stand up and shout, “wake up people, all those people at that convention are GONE, yes they DIED including Rutherford himself, doesn’t that worry you? What else have we been told to expect that won’t actually happen?” But nobody reacted, it was all good, fantastic looking back at our spiritual heritage etc…………. I guess I just have to remember that I too was a blind follower until I was helped to open my eyes. We are very blessed to be here and to know what we do aren’t we?

          • Thinking

Kevin we do exactly what Kaleb and Joshua must have done when they watched Aaron build the golden calf….and calling it a day of worship to Jehovah…that action and incident just rolls of our tongue in a minute..but it would have taken some time for all of that to happen….even before that there would have been a huge amount of murmuring and a lot of trouble with in the people…
I’m sure Kaleb and Joshua would have felt like vomiting to see what they had come too….but obviously they separated themselves from the actual actions involved in that idol worship….they had nothing to,do,with it…but I’m sure they would not have overridden Arrons position….there was nothing they could have done…they had to just seperate them selves emotionally and spiritually….but the DID NOT LEAVE the camp.
You and I and so many others do not have to do anything….your groaning over the things done in Jeruselum has been heard and you have the mark from the ink horn upon you….
In fact Kevin my brother..you are showing immense faith in staying in the camp…you are showing great faith in Jesus and Jehovah in coming back in just the right time…just as Moses came down that mountain…Jehovah will come down to rectify the error of his people.
He did it once..and he will do it again….I know it feels like it is taking forever and personally I am sick to death of it…but what else is there to do…

The pattern of the Isralites in the wilderness is just repeating itself with us….and Jehovah has lovingly warned us and shown what will happen.
It is no good going into the wilderness and put ourselves in danger of being devoured by beasts…
Imagine what Kaleb and Joshua would have done ….they would have strengthened the faithfull ones and reassured them to wait on Moses…and tho they would have been totally confused and angered at what Arron was doing…..they would have encouraged all those faithfull ones to ponder on what Jehovah had done for them and to totally trust in him being a loyal God and rescue them…He is a JUST God…..he will render an accounting from his people….it will come!!!!
Of course we know how that ended…so my brother….do not tire out from doing the right thing….we don’t have to do anything or go anywhere…but just wait patiently and keep encouraging our brothers and sister….of whom most are totally ignorant of what is happening….just be there…and preach the good news….we can do this Brother…..
            Sis thinking

            • Kevin b

            • Thinking

Your more than welcome my brother…but you encourage me too…..when I read of your struggle and fight I feel relief …that I’m not alone…and some one else feels the same way….I have a lovely cong now….after decades of an awful one….so I have relief in that fact…we must not tire out and we are showing endurance….just keep keeping your head down….and surround yourself with wheat like ones….but yeah..it’s very tiring..and I too yearn for the end…big hug to you Brother ??

I hear you, and the prophetic pattern shows this is true.

I saw the movie of Deepwater Horizon last night and I was thinking of an allegory. They wanted the oil so bad, and they were 2 months behind schedule, so they skipped the concrete test , which would show if the concrete was fully cured and could withstand the immense pressure boiling under the sea, which protected the entire oil rig., just so they could recieve their hoped product/reward. However they ignored the fact that if the structure and foundation fails not only would they not get any oil anyway but the rig and lives would also be destroyed as well. Much like how the Watchtower whitewashes structural defects not only in prophetic doctrinal foundation but in the lives of abused children, all for the continued beautification of the organization and the image of the Governing Body. The oil company could have gone through the pain and cost to ensure their foundation was solid and to fix any defects, and in the end they would of ended up with something. But its the pain and price that everyone wants to ignore until its too late. As regards the Watchtower, neither do they want to go through the pain and cost of repentance now, they just pretend that all is well, in hope of their reward, while the immense pressure continues to build up from underneath. ( 1 Corinthians 3:12 & 13.) “12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, 13 each one’s work will be shown for what it is, for the day will show it up, because it will be revealed by means of fire, and the fire itself will prove what sort of work each one has built.”

Allegory…a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one. I think noname fully realises that he was talking about a film but used the theme of the film to make a point.

Actually a true story. Either way its an illustration.

        • Elana Wolgast

I am a JW, you are supposed to go to the elders when you see wrongdoing of any Witness, by turning away from seeing whatever is wrong or hypocritical, not doing nothing, you are allowing it to happen bible says you are just as guilty and going to the elders about it you might save the wrongdoer, this is what Jesus means as the 2nd most commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself; it is the elders job to handle and shepherd; I agree not being around them after they have been counseled and don’t change. Sister Elana

          • KB

Welcome to the Ewatchmans post. Let’s go over a few points. You said, “I am a JW, you are supposed to go to the elders when you see wrongdoing of any Witness”.
Let’s look at what the scriptures say for clarity.

Mt 18:15 “Moreover, if your brother commits a sin, go and reveal his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two more, so that on the testimony of two or three witnesses every matter may be established. 17 If he does not listen to them, speak to the congregation. If he does not listen even to the congregation, let him be to you just as a man of the nations and as a tax collector.

So in the scriptures you are to go to your brother about an issue, not the elders. If he doesn’t listen, you bring one or two more, this is anyone who you want, it doesn’t say elders, its the members of the congregation. If that fails, then you inform the congregation members of the issue so all can adjust the individual. If that fails then they are treated like a man of the nations, or a tax collector.
So how exactly do you treat a man of the nations or a tax collector? Do you shun them? Do go on vacation with them? Do you go out to dinner with them? We go door to door and speak to any who will listen. So we do have an interaction with people of the world or nations don’t we. We live our day to day lives speaking to people we don’t know every day. We don’t go around shunning people because we don’t know them. That be be quite weird wouldn’t it. We wouldn’t vacation with them or go to dinner because they are not in our close circle of friends. But do we shun them? Obviously we don’t shun them do we, we limit the time we spend with them because they aren’t part of our circle of friends. Who did Jesus shun? I can’t think of anyone. We are told to follow his example in everything. But are we allowed to show love to everyone as Jesus did? If someone is disfellowshipped how can I demonstrate that I love them? I can’t, because Watchtower has told me I can’t. They have gone above and beyond the scriptures.

The scriptures I quoted earlier Are so clear and loving. This is the direction we receive from Jehovah.

De 12:32 Every word that I am commanding you is what you should be careful to do. You must not add to it nor take away from it.

Why has the Watchtower changed the way wrongdoers are dealt with? It doesn’t give them the control they need to fit their agenda.

Nowhere in the scriptures does it say for three “elders” to sit down with someone and have a judicial committee. What do the scriptures say about judging one another?

            Mt 7:1 “Stop judging that you may not be judged;

Lu 6:37 “Moreover, stop judging, and you will by no means be judged; and stop condemning, and you will by no means be condemned. Keep on forgiving, and you will be forgiven.

Matt. 18:15-17 Moreover, if your brother commits a sin, go and reveal his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two more, so that on the testimony of two or three witnesses every matter may be established. 17 If he does not listen to them, speak to the congregation. If he does not listen even to the congregation, let him be to you just as a man of the nations and as a tax collector.” The congregation here doesn’t mean the entire congregation, but then mean “responsible brothers” aka the elders.
Scriptural advice for shunning for a baptized Witness 1 Cor. 5:11-13 “But now I am writing you to stop keeping company with anyone called a brother who is sexually immoral or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man. 12 For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Do you not judge those inside, 13 while God judges those outside? “Remove the wicked person from among yourselves.” All my answers are scriptural as I don’t just accept any thing preached or published. I verify it thru the bible. I thought this was an office JW site and realize now it is apostate and dishonors Jehovah, Jesus and the Faithful and Discrete Slave; Jehovah’s Witnesses is Jehovah’s congregation and although we are imperfect, I’m following and listening to what is provided by them; otherwise you are doubting Jehovah and I feel sorry for those that do this. I’m removing myself from anyone not following Jehovah, there is no other truth, and for the Witnesses on this site, might as well leave now. Cause their thoughts here now, even if they wait “to make sure this is the right congregation of Jehovah” when the Great Tribulation begins they won’t make it, how could they? Doubters will fall off like flies. Good bye

            • KB

              Your brother = him
One or two more = one or two more witnesses
Congregation = congregation not brothers or elders. Don’t redefine words to justify how this is handled is today’s congregation.

Anyone called a brother = a brother in the faith or a member in the congregation. Not a family member.

Not keeping company with = not having a meal with the individual or hanging out. Shunning is not used in the Bible anywhere. Ignoring someone is a lack of displaying love.

Scriptural reasons for not keeping company with anyone =

              Sexually immoral
              Greedy person
              Idolaters
              Reviler
              Drunkard
              Extorioner

An entire list of six reasons that merit stop keeping company with. Im not sure if you even realize how many things there are that you can be disfellowshipped for, its 100s. Like I said before, don’t rewrite the scriptures, don’t add to or take any from the scriptures. And don’t redefine words in the scriptures.

Don’t except everything Watchtower hands you to be fact, Its not. Now is the time for you to wake up and realize what’s going on. Followers of the Watchtower will fall off like flies. Follow gods word the Bible and be saved.

Are we now witnessing the foretold signs that the Scriptures provide, both, within the congregations and in the world in general? Paul says that “[we] are not in darkness, so that that day should overtake [us] as it would thieves, for [we] are all sons of light and sons of day. We belong neither to night nor to darkness.” (1 Thess. 5:2-5) Accordingly, those of us who are awake to the evidence will realize that we are well along in the time during which Jehovah is calling upon his people to repent, bringing to our attention our sins and ever changing “inspired expressions of error” that are taught in his name; all of which are being widely discussed all over the world by means of the world wide web-the internet. (1 John 4:1, 6; Rev. 2:5, 16, 21-25; 3:3, 19)

  • Kevin b

The leadership of the JW organization are bringing much more reproach on Jehovah by their attitude on this issue. As JS said, their concern is about protecting their money not Jehovahs name. They won’t respond to a mounting $4000 a day fine. Maybe a contempt of court charge will make them see the light. All seven GB members in separate cells should do the trick.

    • ELiJAHx7

They will claim “persecution” and use it to reinforce their deluded prophetic interpretation to enforce the 1914 lie….smh

      • Kevin b

I just hope the implosion of the Watchtower happens in my lifetime. I will continue to wait on Jehovah.

        • ELiJAHx7

I dare to say…The watchtower is falling now…Jehovah willing, we live Brother, to see the man of lawless destroyed by Christ and to rejoice and praise Jehovah’s name together!

  • noname

We have so many joyous and wonderful things in the organization, but they are soiled with this. How can Jehovah enjoy our assemblies, songs, and other works when this pure injustice is and has been taking place, it would be unrighteous for Him to ignore and that is impossible as we all know. Its as the prophecies indicate, good food is being served but at the same time the tables are filled with vomit! All the Watchtowers work should hault now until this is cleaned up!

    • Kevin b

Amos 5: 21 I hate, I despise your festivals, And I take no pleasure in the aroma of your solemn assemblies. 22 Even if you offer me whole burnt offerings and gift offerings, I will find no pleasure in them; And I will not look with favor on your communion sacrifices of fattened animals. 23 Spare me the din of your songs; And let me not hear the melodies of your stringed instruments.

Isaiah 29:13. “Jehovah says: ‘This people approaches me with their mouth and they honor me with their lips, but their heart is far removed from me; and their fear of me is based on commands of men that they have been taught. Therefore, I am the One who will again do wonderful things with this people, with wonder upon wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their discreet men will be hidden.”’

Thank you for sharing, I couldn’t remember which scripture that was found in. The light just keeps getting brighter.

    • L.H.

Amos 5:23 Spare me the din of your songs And let me not hear the melodies of your stringed instruments. 24 let justice flow down like waters. And righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

      • L.H.

oh I just see Kevin B, had the same scripture in mind.

        • noname

We all did – it never stops ringing true.

    • Simpletruth

Isaiah 29: 13 “Jehovah says: “This people approaches me with their mouth and they honor me with their lips, but their heart is far removed from me; and their fear of me is based on commands of men that they have been taught.”

It is sad that Jehovah’s own people are in this plight. When I was a young girl in “the truth” this scripture was used to describe “worldly people” And maybe back then it was more apt to apply to those ones outside of God’s organization. However, Jehovah’s house has truly been tainted and as you say there is no doubt that Jehovah is not pleased with the “form of Godly devotion” that many of his servants have. The irony of it is that they do not even know that they are no longer worshiping in Spirit and Truth and that the leadership has caused the entire flock to be out of God’s favor. .

  • Shelley.

The cracks in their whitewashed walls are getting larger and larger.I just spent most of my day reading and viewing videos concerning the Watchtower February 2017 issue. The governing body states they are neither inspired nor infallible when it comes to doctrines.Something huge is coming. They are trying to protect themselves from something. How many thousands of people were disfellowshipped for questioning a doctrine or questioning that they were inspired by God.Many will be stumbled is right and I think this article will stumble many.
I have been studying for a little over a year now and it has been drilled into my head that my life depends on my hanging onto the GBs every word as all their words and instruction is inspired by Jehovahs Holy Spirit.Thank Jehovah for all the truths I have learned here from all the Brothers and Sisters and Brother King.If not for this I am sure I would be heading for the door so to speak,it is all so disturbing. The child abuse, the apostasy with the UN,now this.

This information really isn’t new. The similar thing was said in 1993.

Awake! 1993 March 22 pp.3-4 Why So Many False Alarms?

Jehovah’s Witnesses, in their eagerness for Jesus’ second coming, have suggested dates that turned out to be incorrect. Because of this, some have called them false prophets. Never in these instances, however, did they presume to originate predictions ‘in the name of Jehovah.’ Never did they say, ‘These are the words of Jehovah.’ The Watchtower, the official journal of Jehovah’s Witnesses, has said: “We have not the gift of prophecy.” (January 1883, page 425) “Nor would we have our writings reverenced or regarded as infallible.” (December 15, 1896, page 306) The Watchtower has also said that the fact that some have Jehovah’s spirit “does not mean those now serving as Jehovah’s witnesses are inspired. It does not mean that the writings in this magazine The Watchtower are inspired and infallible and without mistakes.” (May 15, 1947, page 157) “The Watchtower does not claim to be inspired in its utterances, nor is it dogmatic.” (August 15, 1950, page 263) “The brothers preparing these publications are not infallible. Their writings are not inspired as are those of Paul and the other Bible writers. (2 Tim. 3:16) And so, at times, it has been necessary, as understanding became clearer, to correct views. (Prov. 4:18)”—February 15, 1981, page 19.

      • Shelley.

I was no aware of this but I was not around the org in 1993, but are they not saying the opposite when they ask you at baptism if you understand that your dedication identify you as one of Jehovah’s witnesses in association with Gods spirit directed organization ?

        • sally

Neither was I. But the WT is full of contradictions, it might have come up in 1983 but the fact that it has come up again now is questionable. In any case did the FDS not just recently say that it is reasonable to suggest that Jesus now knows the when the Day of Jehovah is? When Matt 24:36 states “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father” how can they say different if they are not inspired.

          • Shelley.

Yes I remember this in one of the watchtower studies. I assume they believe Jehovah has shared this info with his son because he has already given him the kingdom and he is now seated on the throne.according to the FDS anyway.

      Hi Shelley

I have to say I agree some big change is coming. I’ve been getting thst sense for a while. Not holfin my breath or getting my hopes up, but I agree something IS coming.

So the Watchtower is in the worldly court system protecting pedophiles. Is that not reproach for Jehovah? Maybe they will win some protections for pedophiles hiding in churches. How ironic.

  • Vahn Talur

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 30+ years, I have seen more good than bad in this religion. When one becomes a Witness, we are encouraged to follow the Organization. However, when you make a dedication to Jehovah, it is personal. I tell all that the Bible HAS TO BE fulfilled; such as Matthew 24:14 of the world being preached to about the Kingdom. Jehovah’s Witnesses as an Organization has lived up to that more than all other religions. I also tell all that in these last days, we have to be solo in our relationship with Jehovah & Jesus. What do I mean? Ezekiel’s experience was a perfect example. The Israelite priests were performing pagan rituals right in Jehovah’s temple. Yet Jehovah warned them thru Ezekiel. This took time. We have to be like Ezekiel and stick with Jehovah & Jesus no matter what. Does this mean that the majority or even all Jehovah’s Witnesses agree or even know about the stupid decisions men make at times; such as the Governing Body? No. I have seen them make huge mistakes. But the JW Worldwide family as a whole entity does not share in the sins of the Governing Body, Elders that lie and other reprehensible acts they may commit. Jesus said we will all stand before God individually. But to attack the whole religion and its members such as me and millions of others worldwide for the gross sins of men in position is not fair at all. i give this religion a 90 percent success rate in the overall picture of living up to the Bible. I took 4 years and went to other religions. I personally know what they teach & preach. They do not live up to Matthew 24:14 as well as us. Is Jehovah going to totally dismantle a religion because a relatively few twisted men in this Organization have gone wacko? NO! There are millions of faithful people serving Jehovah & Jesus. The ones that get hurt are the ones who follow men and give these way more glory than they deserve. We help people to get a relationship with Jehovah & Jesus. Have I seen ones becoming JW’s and following men? Sure. Do they eventually fail? Yes. Miserably. Have I seen ones in position get removed and disfellowshipped? Yes. Do us innocent ones have to suffer for them? Well, we do because the media loves to rip us apart. I have read many different Bibles. In fact my favorite site is called Bible Study Tools, a non JW site. You can cross reference many Bibles. Bottom line is that Jehovah & His Kingdom will come no matter what men do & that we will ALL stand before Jesus the King during Judgement Day. I would not like to be the few JW’s in charge who have covered over gross sins.

Referencing Brother King’s tweet about the verbal attack on the Catholic Church regarding their sex abuse scandals by the Philippines Presisdent Duterte. He’s revved up about them so I dread to think what he would make about the child sex abuse scandals involving Jehovah’s Witnesses…he has the Catholic Church in his crosshairs so who’s next?! And this is a person who in charge of a country but has boasted about killing people before he became president and has declared open season on drug addicts and pushers, killing thousands already, killing these people like vermin!

    • 1914for100Alex

Maybe he’ll threaten to throw the Pope from a helicopter!

With his rant about the Catholic Church…who’s next? Yeah, really hope the witnesses are under his radar 1914. Everything is so uncertain!

You have to wonder why the establishment gets so worked up over someone actually fighting a war against drugs with the intent of winning. The reason, is, of course, that the Empire makes trillion$ peddling dope around the world and they get the added benefit of stupifying a large segment of the population in the process. They don’t like it when someone kills their pushers.

      • Beverly kenyon

Yeah Brother King, I forgot about that part of the gruesome story. Drugs are a good earner for countries like Britain & America. I think the British started supplying opium to the Chinese in the 1800’s and a lot of the Chinese citizens became addicts and I might be wrong but I think this led to the opium wars. The empire is brutal!

  • Sally Ryde

Anyone can bring forth an allegation, be it true of false. If an incident like this did happen then all the members of that congregation who knew about it would shun that person. They would not to my knowledge protect them at all. People throw these words like alleged or suspected around like there going out of style. Doesn’t matter if the guilt is present or not. I am not saying that an incident of this could never have occurred, but if it did it would not be tolerated, accepted or hidden, nor would a member of the Jehovah Witness religion cover it up. These people do not “shun” the outside world. Just my experienced opinion.

    • Song of Hannah

I hate to disagree with you Sis, but I have first hand knowledge of Elders covering up a Brother’s past history of child molestation, just so that he could become Elder. And when one of the Elders not privy to the situation found out, the Elders hiding it did everything they could to smear him. As Jehovah told Jeremiah “For among my people there are wicked men. They keep peering, as when birdcatchers crouch down. They set a deadly trap. It is men whom they catch.” (Jer 5:29)

      • KB

JWs are certainly not perfect, but they try there best to look perfect to others. It’s all about appearances. Jehovah and Jesus see everything.

Ec 8:9 All of this I have seen, and I applied my heart to every work that has been done under the sun, during the time that man has dominated man to his harm.

That is truly messed up. I really can’t see how a person can call themselves religious when they cover up something like that..There is a special place in Hell for people who do that to children.

        • Song of Hannah

Oh, don’ t get me wrong – they didn’t think they were protecting the child molesters. They just believed them without question, when they said they were reformed. They convinced themselves that their stand was a righteous one, whereas the Elder who disagreed deserved to be thrown out, for his lack of mercy. No wonder they seem bewildered when Jesus rebukingly tells them “Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!”

Spanish Newspaper Cronica Global joins list of news organisations reporting Watchtower child abuse scandal. January 2017. Australian Goverment Issues Report Condemning Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Sexual Abuse Policies. November 2016. Australian Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. 2016.

    • Burt Reynolds

If you are referring to the watchtower abuse articles and issues, these are proved at court, by the brothers and sisters that brought the cases to court. Having said that, it is also plainly true that there must be some honest hearted brothers and sisters still remaining in the organisation. I am one, and this site is crowded with them. So what made our viewpoint change? The point of the issues raised here, doctrinal, physical, financial, motive, outcomes, the will of Jehovah, are true. If they were not, then they would be exposed by the very people on this site. Like the Boreans, it is up to you and ourselves to check these things to be so. Just because some are doing the right thing, does not guarantee that the governing system of the watchtower is not corrupted. Neither this site or any other can or would tell you that, it is something you have to check out for yourself. The whole issue about being decieved, is surely that you are unaware of the deception, is it not? So look under the mat, and judge for yourself if these things are true.

    • sally

The WT society has over the past couple of years at least, spent millions of pounds in compensation payouts to victims of Sexual Abuse, and dozens of cases are being reviewed worldwide. You need to do some research of your own into this. Its not hard to find. The abusers often have form (have been tried and convicted of crimes against children) and have come into a congregation and selected themselves new victims, the elders have known of the crimes to. The Society is being forced to review its child Safeguarding Procedures. And the compensation payouts continue to flow out of the coffers that are meant to support the preaching work. So your statement it “would not be tolerated, accepted or hidden” is a breathtakingly naive thing to say. DO YOUR RESEARCH.

      • Beverly kenyon

        ???

The two witness rule makes absolutely sure it’s “tolerated, accepted and hidden” . The perverted perpetrators are protected by that rule and therefore saved from disfellowshipping. Hence, they are not shunned.
We are shunned though for simply telling the truth.

      • Basavaraj Of North Karnataka

YES I AGREE WITH YOU. Yes that is why the Christian congregation has become a Paradise for pedophiles rather than the house of Jehovah. Yes many are dis-fellowship for telling the truth, such as our very dear brother Robert King so also Sister Barbara Anderson and Br. William Bowen just to name a few. So will also happen to me after shifting to Coimbatore.

        • Daisy

To my favourite brother in India…Thank you for putting flesh on the bones of my comment and reminding me that Candace Conti, a victim of a predator (as we who are ‘awake’ all know) hiding in her congregation bravely described her sexual abuse ordeal as terrifying as Jehovah’s Witnesses silencing techniques, (something like that).

When you move to Coimbatore, my brother, you will courageously face whatever comes your way because all of us here are already praying for you.

Jehovah said to the serpent, “I will put enmity between you and the WOMAN”, his symbolic wife, his congregation. This was an amazing parallel to what Adam’s wife did. They were to be one flesh, but she decided to be independent and disobedient, just like Jehovah’s “wife”, the Israelite’s did over, and over, and over, and over…. If you follow this “wife” through the bible you will learn something life changing when you get to Revelation. In Rev. 12, the crown of 12 stars is a hint as to who this “woman” is. She is given the WINGS OF AN EAGLE and flies into the WILDERNESS. In Daniel 7, the first of four beasts had wings of an eagle that were plucked out, I believe these wings represent Jehovah’s Holy Spirit that was removed from the first of four groups(?) of leaders of JW’s. Take note that the Woman in Revelation that produced the nation’s Shepherd flew into the WILDERNESS. In Rev. 17, John is carried by the SPIRIT into a WILDERNESS where he sees Babylon the Great prostitute. Babylon the Great is not the world empire of false religion, she is Jehovah’s disobedient “wife”. Jehovah’s obedient followers would not be involved with the worlds silly religions that all of us have been taught is Babylon the Great, so when his true servants are told to “get out of her”, we are being told to get out of the organisation of JW’s, who are also the “King of the North”. Understanding what Jesus was truly saying at John 13:35, his true disciples practice “agape”, a love that “never ignores principle” (Insight vol. 2 pg 274). So, it is impossible for Jehovah or Jesus to ignore their own standards to continue using men who are willingly involved in gross sin. Most “elders” are heavily involved in slander, the most Satanic of sins.
