A continuation of the Jeremiah series.

Everything connected to the second coming of Christ has been distorted and ultimately concealed. We might suspect that the Devil is the culprit, and, of course, he is. But Satan is only allowed to work his operation of error because it suits God’s purpose to allow for a “deceptive influence” to have its work complete.

When the day and hour arrive for the revealing of the Son of man then everything will change. The world will explode, even as it has been rigged to do. And those who have willingly, knowingly, promoted the fraud that Christ has been ruling since 1914 and who have tyrannized Jehovah’s sheep and used the Watchtower’s resources as if they were not merely custodians, will be treated as enemies of the truth.

Up to this point, the slave has ignored the warning. So what? “The master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, and he will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his place with the hypocrites. There is where his weeping and the gnashing of his teeth will be.” — Mathew 24:50, 51

In part one the case was made that Jacob’s time of trouble has to do with the great tribulation. In the 30th chapter of Jeremiah God speaks to “Jacob,” which in reality is what the apostle called “the Israel of God,” saying to them: “And you, my servant Jacob, do not be afraid,” declares Jehovah, “And do not be terrified, O Israel. For I will save you from far away and your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return and be calm and undisturbed, with no one to make them afraid.” (Verse 10)

When speaking of the things coming upon the world Jesus also exhorted his disciples not to be terrified. The warning is warranted given the fact that during the time of Jacob’s trouble, men will become faint with fear, dreading the things coming upon the world. Jesus revealed that the things coming upon the world will be of such severity that unless God intervened no one would survive.

It was impossible for persons living prior to the advent of the atomic age to imagine a scenario wherein the world would face a terrifying existential crisis; “existential” in the strictest sense of the word—meaning, the complete extinction of mankind. Now, though, it does not require any imagination at all—provided one has the courage to imagine the unimaginable. It is, after all, common knowledge that the nations possess thousands of nuclear devices as well as indefensible delivery systems like hypersonic missiles, with the combined power to destroy the world many times over if that were possible. Existential, indeed!

More disconcerting, never before in the atomic age have the nuclear-armed nations been in direct conflict. That situation is changing with the war in Ukraine—rightly called a proxy war involving the NATO alliance against Russia. No doubt that is why former president Trump warned that nuclear war was the greatest threat facing mankind today. (Trump on YouTube) And as we might expect, London, the imperial capitol of a dying empire, which long ago earned the ignominious title of Perfidious Albion, is the foremost provocateur.

The salvation of “Jacob” is in contrast to the annihilation of the nations of Satan’s world. Verse 11 continues: “For I am with you,” declares Jehovah, “to save you. But I will make an extermination among all the nations to which I scattered you; however, you I will not exterminate. I will discipline you to the proper degree, and I will by no means leave you unpunished.”

To what extent God will allow the beast to exterminate nations is unknown.  Revelation reveals that the horsemen of the Apocalypse are given authority “over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with a long sword and with food shortage and with deadly plague and by the wild beasts of the earth.”

From a geopolitical point of view, the Anglo empire is being undermined by China’s One Belt-One Road initiative. The nations of South Asia are instrumental in connecting East and West. It is also worth noting that China and the Islamic nations have the fewest numbers of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

It is interesting that in the first century, Paul and his companions were forbidden by the holy spirit from speaking the word in Asia. Of course, in the first century “Asia” was a small Roman province in what is now Turkey and not the vast continent of Asia today. Nonetheless, it is noteworthy that the holy spirit prevented Christians from preaching in a particular area. Perhaps Jehovah’s Witnesses have by divine providence been similarly restricted by the holy spirit from preaching in areas that may be ground zero for nuclear war.

Jesus spoke of being punished to the proper degree in connection with the faithful and discreet slave. Concerning the two outcomes for the ignorantly and the knowingly erring slaves, the Lord said: “Then that slave who understood the will of his master but did not get ready or do what he asked will be beaten with many strokes. But the one who did not understand and yet did things deserving of strokes will be beaten with few. Indeed, everyone to whom much was given, much will be demanded of him, and the one who was put in charge of much will have more than usual demanded of him.” — Luke 12:47-48

Being “beaten with many strokes” is the same as being punished with the “greatest severity” and suffering the same fate as the hypocrites.

Diagnosing Jacob’s spiritual condition, Jehovah goes on to say: “There is no cure for your breakdown. Your wound is incurable. There is no one to plead your cause, no means of healing your ulcer. There is no cure for you.” — Jeremiah 30:12-13

Keep in mind that the prophecy of Jeremiah under consideration is earmarked for fulfillment in the “final part of the days,” even as is stated in the concluding verse of the 30th chapter. So, the One who searches hearts and minds and who knows all things has already issued this grim prognosis of His earthly organization to be delivered through the agency of Christ’s Kingdom at his coming. Although Jehovah’s Witnesses have no inkling, the Watchtower is terminally ill. There is no cure for its spiritually corrupt condition. There is no reform possible. Nothing that can be said to plead its cause. It is hopeless.

The reason this is even relevant and recorded in the Book of Truth from centuries past is because God’s eternal purpose is tied up with the organization represented by “Jacob,” otherwise identified by the apostle as the congregation of the firstborn. The success of Christianity is predicated on the completion of the spiritual temple under construction comprised of 144,000 living stones. The extermination of Jacob is not really an option. God must administer the proper degree of punishment in order to produce a righteous people who can then enter into the Kingdom. As Paul noted, no discipline is pleasant but it is necessary in order to please God. Hence: “For with the stroke of an enemy I have struck you, with the punishment of someone cruel, because of your great guilt and your many sins. Why do you cry out because of your breakdown? Your pain is incurable! Because of your great guilt and your many sins I have done this to you.” — Jeremiah 30:14b-15

What form will this cruel punishment take? It will come in the form of world war, famine and pestilence culminating in nuclear war and the collapse of the system. But it is God’s doing. The Watchtower will go out of business. Up to this point the Governing Body has claimed to be Jehovah’s mouthpiece. They claim to be the sole source of truth. In fact, they claim to be “prophets” in the sense of accurately divining the meaning of biblical prophecy. Ironically, they will ultimately fulfill Bible prophecy. How so? “In that day each of the prophets will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies; and they will not wear an official garment of hair in order to deceive. And he will say, ‘I am no prophet. I am a man cultivating the soil, because a man bought me when I was young.’ And if someone asks him, ‘What are these wounds between your shoulders?’ he will answer, ‘Wounds I received in the house of my friends.’” — Zechariah 13:4-6

“In that day” is in reference to the “day belonging to Jehovah” (Zech. 14:1) If the prophets will be ashamed it is because their interpretations will be shown up to be utterly false. Honestly, is there any other institution on earth that has so thoroughly committed itself to the authenticity of its own prophetic prognostications regarding the return of Christ being an accomplished fact? What shall become of those who have so vigorously proclaimed that the parousia began in 1914 when the actual presence of Jesus Christ commences?

Like Job when Jehovah showed up in a fierce windstorm to rebuke him for his rash statements of self-justification, those who have masqueraded as prophets will put their hands over their mouths and disavow ever having been prophets. The “wounds between your shoulders” locates the proverbial stripes caused by the lash of the Master’s whip on the backs of the erring slave. “The house of my friends” is Bethel. Only after being beaten by a few strokes—punished to the proper degree—will they be forgiven and healed and appointed over all of the Master’s belongings.
