Not sure what you mean by “great prefer folks not cite Paul or Apollos, but just the scriptures.”
Isn’t what Paul or Apollos cite classed as scriptures?
Anyway, I have often wondered why the partaking is restricted to the anointed. At the last Supper Jesus didn’t say that the eating of the bread and drinking of the wine was just for the 12 present, did he? When he said “eat … drink”, couldn’t he have intended that all followers of him and his father partake?SongofHannahKeymasterMarch 28, 2017 at 7:54 amPost count: 33
Thanks JW student, I appreciated your reasonings. And I apologize, I should have been more clear. I was trying to avoid the situation that developed in the Corinthian congregation mentioned by Paul at 1 Cor 1:12-15. Of course, Paul & Apollos were both very faithful men. However, if true, any valid arguments will stand on their own, without needing the weight of names behind them.
