The Presence of the Day of Jehovah. In his second letter Peter exhorts his brothers to be “awaiting and keeping close in mind the presence of the day of Jehovah,” demonstrating this by the way they live. (2Pe 3:11, 12) They must be careful to keep Jehovah’s day of judgment constantly in mind, realizing that it is close at hand. In that “day of Jehovah,” the governmental “heavens” of this wicked world will be destroyed as by fire and the “elements” that go with it will not be able to hold together but will melt because of the intense heat. The present system under the control of Satan will come to its end.
Since Jehovah God acts by and through his Son and appointed King, Christ Jesus (Joh 3:35; compare 1Co 15:23, 24), it follows that there is a relationship between this promised “presence” of Jehovah and the “presence” of Christ Jesus. Logically, those who scoff at the proclamation of the one will scoff at the proclamation of the other. Again the attitude of the people prior to the Deluge is used as a corresponding example.—2Pe 3:5-7; compare Mt 24:37-39.
2 Thessalonians 2:2 not to be quickly shaken from your reason nor to be alarmed either by an inspired statement or by a spoken message or by a letter appearing to be from us, to the effect that the day of Jehovah is here.
I am surprised because I didn’t know this was official doctrine. 2 Thessalonians 2 seems very hard to rebute now. I don’t know how anyone could believe 1914 after all this.

Keep in mind that is it quite possible that the name YHWH was never in the original writings, such as in 2 Peter 3:10. While it seems most probable that the YHWH was in the original Greek writings in many places, especially when the writers were quoting a Hebrew passage where the YHWH appears, it cannot be determined with such certainly for passages where the Hebrew text is not being directly quoted. Thus, it is quite possible that Peter originally wrote that the “Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night.” After all, Jesus used that very analogy to describe the unexpectedness of his coming.Ken_RosenbergParticipantJune 23, 2017 at 9:09 pmPost count: 36Robert KingKeymasterJune 24, 2017 at 7:39 amPost count: 33SongofHannahKeymasterJune 24, 2017 at 8:08 amPost count: 60
This makes me remember, I had heard a rumor beforehand that the WT was coming out with a new Bible, and one of the first things I thought, is “they are finally going to take out Jehovah’s name from the Greek text where they obviously took liberties”. So I was completely dumbfounded when they proudly trumpeted from the platform that they added even more!
But I wasn’t awake then, so I just thought “they must have their reasons”. SMHFrank CongerParticipantJuly 3, 2017 at 10:35 amPost count: 52Frank CongerParticipantJuly 3, 2017 at 10:42 amPost count: 52Frank CongerParticipantJuly 3, 2017 at 10:53 amPost count: 52
Here is documentation from the JW’s in Russia with the term OSCE at the bottom of each page associated with the organization of JW’s in Russia. But like Robert has said, this seems to be one angle that is easily justified by the rank and file JW’s. It’s like it never happened to them. http://www.osce.org/odihr/187446?download=true

The brothers who represent the Watchtower have never even acknowledged their sin against Jehovah in the United Nations affair. They stand behind the library card lie, which is nothing but a lie because you did not need such a card to take out books from the library for research.
“To the angel of the congregation in Thy·a·tiʹra+ write: These are the things that the Son of God says, the one who has eyes like a fiery flame+ and whose feet are like fine copper:+ 19 ‘I know your deeds, and your love and faith and ministry and endurance, and that your deeds of late are more than those you did at first.
20 “‘Nevertheless, I do hold this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezʹe·bel,+ who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and misleads my slaves to commit sexual immorality*+ and to eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time to repent, but she is not willing to repent of her sexual immorality.* 22 Look! I am about to throw her into a sickbed, and those committing adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with deadly plague, so that all the congregations will know that I am the one who searches the innermost thoughts* and hearts, and I will give to you individually according to your deeds.+
24 “‘However, I say to the rest of you who are in Thy·a·tiʹra, all those who do not follow this teaching, those who did not get to know the so-called “deep things of Satan”:+ I am not putting on you any other burden. 25 Just the same, hold fast to what you have until I come.+ 26 And to the one who conquers and observes my deeds down to the end, I will give authority over the nations,+ 27 and he will shepherd the people with an iron rod+ so that they will be broken to pieces like clay vessels, just as I have received from my Father. 28 And I will give him the morning star.+ 29 Let the one who has an ear hear what the spirit says to the congregations.’
Fred Franz was the angel of Thyatira. He had his good points and in the end his bad points, but this response is written not only to Franz, who at this time was close to death, but to the entire organization under Franz at the time that they had applied to become and NGO to the time of Franz’s death and on into the Presidency of Henschel. They have never repented. I think Henschel may have, but not JW’s admin. in general. The organization is still an unrepentant sinner. I guess they think they can work off the sin with good works instead of genuine repentance. Is that what you think?
