A continuation of commentaries based upon Jeremiah.
The tenth chapter of Jeremiah opens with Jehovah’s denunciation of Israel. “This is what Jehovah says: ‘Do not learn the way of the nations, and do not be terrified by the signs of the heavens because the nations are terrified by them. For the customs of the peoples are a delusion. It is just a tree of the forest that is cut down, worked by the hands of the craftsman with his tool. They adorn it with silver and gold and fasten it with hammer and nails so that it will not fall over.”’
Idolatry takes many forms. Basically, an idol is anything that detracts from God’s glory. The most common form of idol worship in ancient times is what Jehovah described in Jeremiah, where a tree was carved into some crude shape and covered with glittering gold.
But the book of Revelation reveals that there is another sort of image that Satan will fabricate—an image of the beast that will come alive after the collapse of the present system during the tribulation. Evidently, that is really what God is alluding to in Jeremiah as will be explained in this article.
The worship of that image will result in receiving the 666 mark of the beast. Laughably, the Watchtower claims that people of the world began receiving the mark in 1922. What utter nonsense!
Jesus echoed his Father’s warning through Jeremiah when he exhorted his disciples not to be terrified because the nations will be in anguish observing the signs in the sun, moon, and stars and men will become faint with fears because the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Not to be overlooked is the fact that both Jeremiah and Jesus’ prophecy of the conclusion and the coming of the Son of man focus on the desolation of Jerusalem.
After denouncing the idol worshippers and declaring Himself to be the Creator of everything Jehovah turns his attention to Jerusalem and says: “Gather up your bundle from the ground, O woman dwelling under siege. For this is what Jehovah says: ‘Here I am hurling the inhabitants out of the land at this time, and I will cause them to experience distress.’” — Jeremiah 10:17-18
The words of God in Jeremiah were also echoed by Jesus when he spoke of the desolation of Jerusalem and the distress coming upon God’s people, saying: “However, when you see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that the desolating of her has drawn near. Then let those in Judea begin fleeing to the mountains, let those in the midst of her leave, and let those in the countryside not enter into her, because these are days for meting out justice in order that all the things written may be fulfilled. Woe to the pregnant women and those nursing a baby in those days! For there will be great distress on the land and wrath against this people. And they will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the nations until the appointed times of the nations are fulfilled..” — Luke 21:22-24
For many years the Watchtower claimed Christendom was the modern antitype of Jerusalem. However, now Bethel’s prophets have discarded the type-antitype approach. Clearly, though, Jerusalem has a counterpart that will be trampled on by the nations during the great tribulation. Speaking for God’s womanly organization under siege Jeremiah goes on to say: “Woe to me because of my breakdown! My wound is incurable. And I said: “Surely this is my sickness, and I must bear it. My tent has been devastated, and my tent cords have all been torn apart. My sons have left me and are no more. There is no one left to stretch out my tent or raise up my tent cloths. For the shepherds have behaved senselessly, and they have not inquired of Jehovah. That is why they have not acted with insight, and all their flocks have been scattered.”
Again, we find a parallel with the words of Christ regarding what will surely be manifest as the collapse of what is called Jehovah’s earthly organization. Jesus said: “Then people will hand you over to tribulation and will kill you, and you will be hated by all the nations on account of my name. Then, too, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. Many false prophets will arise and mislead many; and because of the increasing of lawlessness, the love of the greater number will grow cold.” — Mathew 24:9-12
Why will many be stumbled and hate one another? Because the shepherds have behaved senselessly and have not inquired of Jehovah. As it stands presently, not only have the leaders of Jehovah’s Witnesses misled them into believing Christ has already returned, and related falsities such as trivializing the mark of the beast, but now the Governing Body has implicitly endorsed an experimental vaccine program that is killing people. As it turns out, unlike ordinary vaccines, the mRNA elixir only temporarily amps up the immune system and then becomes ineffective. That is why those who thought they had been fully inoculated are now finding out they must receive a booster shot. Perhaps many boosters for years to come. Not only that, but those who have received mRNA shots have become living Petri dishes, allowing the Covid virus to spin off more virulent variants that are immune to the pharmaceutical immunization! Surely, the Governing Body did not seriously inquire of Jehovah.
There has been an all-out propaganda blitz to suppress any information about alternative treatments, such as Ivermectin and Hydroxychoriquine, not to mention D3 and zinc supplementation to boost one’s natural immunity. In this, the Watchtower is in lockstep with the agenda of the nations, particularly the United Nations. If the Governing Body is so concerned about the health of the millions of persons who look to them for guidance why has there been no mention of alternative therapies? Because of the Governing Body’s implied endorsement of mRNA technology, Jehovah’s Witnesses are dutifully rolling up their sleeves. After all, the Governing Body has consulted with the experts and if they approve it that means Jehovah must have also.
But already there are reports of Jehovah’s Witnesses dying and becoming gravely ill as a result of taking the shots. The upcoming booster campaign may well prove fatal to many, many more. Truly, the shepherds of Bethel have behaved senselessly and have set the stage for the flock to be scattered, for many to be stumbled, for brothers to hate one another and betray one another.
“Listen! A report! It is coming! A great pounding from the land of the north, to make the cities of Judah desolate, a lair of jackals.” —Jeremiah 10:22
