QUESTION: Since the Watchtower has not given a new explanation to the parable of the virgins and the talents in Matthew 25, can you please explain it to me? Especially the part that says: ''The foolish said to the discreet, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are about to go out.’ The discreet [...]
This article was originally written in October, 2013, but has not been updated as of October, 2014. As all of Jehovah’s Witnesses realize - and many others besides - 2014 marks 100 years since the kingdom of God is purported to have begun ruling. Question: If the horsemen haven't yet ridden in quick succession after the opening of the second seal, do you think the white rider can be simply governments who go off to 'conquest' which leads the rides of the other horsemen? Or do you think that the white horsemen can still apply to future coming of Jesus when he manifests himself in the future? If he did ride as a conqueror in 1914....what did that rider really conquer? He's still waiting for the green light from Jehovah to go subduing in the midst of his enemies. So who was the white rider?
I would be interested to know how you understand Revelation 6:2, since this Scripture is frequently used by the brothers to support the 1914 coronation. There, the Bible says Jesus received a crown and a bow to start his conquest. Since the crown stands for royalty and a bow is a long distance weapon, does not this demonstrate that Christ receives the kingdom in 1914 and fights from a distance (from heaven) against his enemies?
Who are Jehovah’s Christian Witnesses? Are they the true worshippers of God – the true light-bearers, as the Watchtower Society claims? What makes the witnesses of Jehovah so special? Do they really believe that they are the only ones who will receive salvation? After all, many accuse Jehovah’s Witnesses of being a satanic cult. How could such a maligned sect possibly be the only true faith?
