It is rumored that at the 2018 Annual Meeting the Governing Body announced that Russia is the prophetic king of the north. This should have been anticipated in view of the fact that the Pay Attention to Daniel’s Prophecy commentary left open the possibility that one of the former members of the USSR might possibly emerge as the prophetic king.
It hardly seems coincidental, though, that Bethel has identified Russia as the king of the north in the aftermath of the liquidation of Jehovah’s Witnesses throughout the vast territory of the Russian Federation. Whatever the case, in view of the scriptural exhortation to “make sure of all things” and to test every “inspired expression” to determine if it originates with God, it should not offend true Christians to critically examine the Watchtower’s teaching on this important topic.
To put things in perspective, let us consider the place of Russia in modern times.
Besides the persecution of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Russia has certainly been in the news lately —at least in the major Western press, and not in a positive way. Vladimir Putin appears to have become the new face of evil, replacing the recently retired Osama bin Laden. Accusations of election tampering, not to mention the supposed invasions of Crimea and Ukraine and the military intervention in Syria, Russia is portrayed by the Anglo mainstream media as a threat to Europe and the world. But it is well to consider recent history.
After the dissolution of the sprawling Union of Soviet Socialist Republics Russia was subjected to London’s IMF “shock treatment.” The already anemic Russian economy was nearly destroyed. Private money men were given the keys of the kingdom by the oft-inebriated, Boris Yeltsin. What had been national property was sold off for a pittance to agents working under the tutelage of the City of London. Overnight billionaire oligarchs sprang up —wielding control over Russia’s vast stores of natural resources. But then came Vladimir Putin. As a proud nationalist, Putin clawed back much of Russia’s wealth and locked out the private financiers who had designs on breaking up Russia into smaller states in order to use them as raw materials providers for Western corporations. That made him the enemy of London.
In the aftermath of the end of the USSR and the Cold War, some naive persons expected a peace dividend. Instead, the Anglo imperialists launched a project to encircle Russia with hundreds of military bases and missile installations and continued with the scheme to inflame the arc of crisis around the former nations of the USSR by destabilizing numerous nations in Africa, South Asia and the Middle East. Most recently Anglo intelligence agents orchestrated a coup in Ukraine —a former republic of the USSR —in order to bring chaos to Russia’s doorstep. One day after the coup the Washington-installed puppet, supported by Stephen Bandera’s Nazi holdovers from the Second World War, outlawed the Russian language in Ukraine, this in spite of the fact that a sizable percentage of the citizens of Ukraine are ethnic Russians. Soon the shelling of Eastern Ukraine began. As a result of the pogrom, the predominantly Russian population of Crimea held a referendum to break away from Kiev and return to Russia for protection. (Crimea had always been part of Russia until 1954 when it was transferred to Ukraine.)
In spite of the fact that the people of Crimea voted overwhelmingly to return to the authority of Moscow, the Western mainstream media portrayed it as an invasion and a war crime. Although not a single shot was fired, to this day the likes of CNN and the New York Times and similar spigots for Anglo-intelligence propaganda, maintain that Russia invaded Ukraine.
Russia is similarly demonized in the case of Syria. It is common knowledge that Anglo intelligence trained and deployed ISIS and other Islamic terror groups in order to inflame a civil war and overthrow Assad. In fact, originally Osama bin Laden and his Mujahideen warriors were trained and equipped by the CIA to attack Soviet forces in Afghanistan. This too is common knowledge. At the request of the beleaguered president of Syria, in September of 2015 Putin ordered his military to begin bombing terrorist camps in Syria and cut off their selling of stolen oil. Although American and NATO troops have no legal basis to be operating in Syria, Russia was cast as the illegal invader. As a result of Russia’s victory over the imperialist’s scheme to destroy Syria, the Anglo-American war machine is gearing up for an all-out war with Russia. And because Russia and China have allied themselves and because of the impact of the One-Belt One-Road initiative, China is also square in the sites of London’s warmongers.
As regards Russia’s election meddling, retired security specialists reviewed the evidence and have made a persuasive argument that the Democratic party servers could not have been hacked, only leaked. (The fraud of the Russian Hack PDF) The reason is, the data was so voluminous that it would have taken hours to upload it via the Internet. The only way the data could have been stolen is internally, via a thumb drive, and then uploaded to Wiki Links.
But, since the Democrats refused to allow their server to be analyzed by the FBI, there is no definitive proof that the servers were not hacked. And as a result of the non-investigation, the anti-Russian media machine speaks of Russian election meddling as a matter of fact. As a result, America is in the grip of a new wave of McCarthyite hysteria. The real agenda, though, is the ouster of the American president, who in his campaign openly spoke of establishing peaceful relations with Russia.
It is widely known the British tapped Trump’s phones during his campaign and a “retired” MI6 agent provided the dirty dossier on Trump that has been the basis of the Mueller “investigation” into the president’s supposed collusion. The available evidence indicates there is an ongoing collusion on the part of high-ranking Americans with a foreign power. But the conspiring foreign power is not Russia. It is Britain. The British Empire’s deep state apparatus has/is attempting to perform what is best described as a soft-coup. While Jehovah’s Witnesses are not political, does that mean we must take a vow of ignorance? Surely, God’s prophetic word is based upon reality, not the distorted, house-of-mirrors version of the world projected by the media. The Watchtower frequently decries the distorted media coverage it receives, why should we assume that these same outlets are reporting an accurate state of affairs when it comes to Russia? After all, do not the scriptures refer to the deceptive plots of the king of the north? Why are Jehovah’s Witnesses so cocksure they are immune to being deceived by the prevailing propaganda?
Now that we stand at the brink of World War Three some more historical background is in order. The British Empire has always used the time-tested technique of divide and conquer. The fact is, the British Crown has never gotten over losing its American colonies. After the Revolution, the British once again invaded and even burned down the president’s mansion in the war of 1812. After that scheme failed London supported the Confederacy in the hopes of bringing down the upstart republic. The British were intent on using their superior naval forces to blockade the northern ports. If not for the threatened intervention of Tzar Alexander, the Russians having just been at war with the British in the Crimean War, the British may have well succeeded and the American Civil War may have had an entirely different outcome.
After Lincoln preserved the United States, shortly thereafter America became the greatest industrial power the world had ever seen. Other nations, such as China, Japan, Germany, and Russia, aspired to the American model. Germany’s ambition to build a Berlin-to-Bagdad railroad is said to have been the impetus for the British to orchestrate the bloodbath known as the First World War. The reason being, an overland rail network would undermine the maritime power of the British. Russia was also on a similar course with a trans-Siberian railroad in the planning stages. Apparently, Anglo financiers backed Trotsky and the Bolsheviks in their overthrow of the Romanov dynasty and the imposition of communism —the system designed by the son of a British merchant, Frederick Engles, along with Karl Marx who resided in London for a time. As a result of the Bolsheviks reign of terror, Russia was prevented from becoming another America.
Although the US and USSR were allied during the Second World War and were instrumental in defeating Hitler, immediately following that war Winston Churchill came to Missouri, USA, and announced the beginning of the Cold War and coined the term “Iron Curtain.” (You Tube) Once again friendly relations between Russians and Americans were prevented by British machinations.
Because there is such ignorance regarding history —true history being driven by the dynamic that has pitted the empire against the republic —also symbolized in prophecy as the incompatible amalgam of iron and clay; and the all-prevailing, unrelenting propaganda to which we are all subjected —propaganda that emanates from the British imperial nexus; and no doubt there is a reluctance on the part of Bethel to go against the mainstream narrative; and as already mentioned, the unjust liquidation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia — for all of the above I suspect the Governing Body do not have the capacity to understand or the will to do so.
WAS THE USSR EVER THE KING OF THE NORTH?
Since it has been 20 years since the Watchtower has even commented on the king of the north —the Governing Body admitting then that it did not know who the king of the north was and advised against speculating on the matter —it seems appropriate to consider the question of whether the USSR was ever in the position of the king of the north. The reason for doing so is that aspects of the prophecy attached to the Cold War period simply do not make any sense. Perhaps the most glaring error of interpretation having to do with the king of the north ruling over Egypt’s hidden treasures of gold and silver.
While it is insightful that “Egypt” is a reference to the king of the south due to the Ptolemaic Egypt being the original king of the south, it is absurd to suppose that the USSR ever ruled over the treasury of the United States because of spending during the so-called arms race and space race. History reveals the exact opposite is true: The USSR was driven into insolvency trying to keep pace with the United States.
The truth is, if any outside power has ruled over the treasury of the United States, it is the British oligarchs. Since 1913 the US Treasury has been yoked to the Federal Reserve Bank. Although not commonly known, the Fed is not a federal institution. It is a privately owned bank. Although the names of the shareholders are secret, we can be sure they are the wealthy, aristocratic families associated with the feudal monarchies of Europe —particularly the British House of Windsor.
Although the US was not ruined by the USSR it is beyond dispute that America is now speeding down the road to ruin, being manically driven into bankruptcy by its very guardians. If the Federal Reserve raises interest rates even marginally the mere interest on the already astronomical national debt —already approaching one-trillion dollars annually —would become unplayable. The bankers would foreclose on the American government and all of its indebted citizens. Think about that. Think about the gold of Fort Knox being taken as collateral. But there are other inconsistencies in the Watchtower’s interpretation that should be considered.
According to God’s word the king of the north is successful all the way to the end, when he is vanquished by Michael the great Prince. The scripture says: “The king will do as he pleases, and he will exalt himself and magnify himself above every god; and against the God of gods he will speak astonishing things. And he will prove successful until the denunciation comes to a finish; because what is determined must take place. He will show no regard for the God of his fathers…”
Since we are supposed to be deep into the time of the end, are we to expect Russia to be successful and conquer the king of the south? That is not out of the question, but it should be noted that the Watchtower does not recognize the king of the north as being victorious over his rival. According to the Pay Attention commentary both kings are on hand when Michael stands up —this, in clear contradiction to the scriptures that reveal a single king comes to his end –the king of the north. Is it really a trivial detail of no consequence that the king of the south is not mentioned beyond the point at which “Egypt” and its allies are subjugated by the king of the north?
As regards the king of the north having “no regard for the God of his forefathers,” that can hardly describe modern Russia. Although all religion was suppressed during the communist era, Putin has revived the Russian Orthodox Church. Is not the revival of orthodoxy the real reason the Watchtower has been liquidated? Surely, the Russia of today respects the traditional God of their forefathers.
As regards the king of the north being successful and speaking astonishing things against the God of gods, this is harmonious with what is stated in the 13th chapter of Revelation, which reads: “It was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and it was given authority to act for 42 months. And it opened its mouth in blasphemies against God to blaspheme his name and his dwelling place, even those residing in heaven. It was permitted to wage war with the holy ones and conquer them, and it was given authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation. And all those who dwell on the earth will worship it.”
Although the Anglo-American duo wields tremendous authority over the nations presently it cannot reasonably be said that it has authority over every tribe and people and nation. No empire has had that sort of power. Not yet anyway. Obviously, that is why the Anglo power is trying to destroy Russia and China, because it doesn’t have authority over them. Nor can it honestly be said that the beast conquered the holy ones back in 1918 when eight Watchtower officers were sentenced to a short stint in prison.
And while we are on the subject, are Jehovah’s Witnesses being well served by being deluded into believing that the eighth king was originally the impotent League of Nations and that it climbed out of the abyss as the United Nations? How many of Jehovah’s Witnesses even grasp the preposterousness of the teaching that people of the world began receiving the 666 mark of the beast in 1922, as the Grand Climax book asserts? (Paragraph four) Why even bother preaching if the masses of mankind have already been irrevocably doomed to the second death, which is what having the mark signifies?
The reason the Governing Body have no idea who the king of the north is, is because the entire prophetic framework is faulty. The fact is, Christ’s second coming has not occurred, as the Watchtower claims. The time of the end did not begin in 1914. That means the pushing has not occurred. Although, given the present tumult perhaps it is in the beginning stages now.
The British Empire has been the king of the north since it ascended in the 18th century. Although storybooks passed off as history tell of the end of the British Empire after WW2, the truth is, the empire transformed from a colonial master to the ruler of money. The arms of the empire still emanate from the City of London and power is exerted through the central banking system, through agencies like the IMF and World Bank, and through the Wall Street system, which has increasingly become a gambling house rigged by the bankers. The floating exchange rate system (FOREX) runs through the City of London to the tune of nearly 3 trillion dollars per day. London’s offshore assets, like the Cayman Islands, have served as money laundering machines for the drug business that the British run. Although no one knows the day or hour, on any given day we may expect the whole shebang to come crashing down —and with it the nations themselves. From the ashes will then ascend the mortally wounded beast and the image it conjures in the form of the eighth king —probably the United Nations, which will then become the king of the north. No more democratic nations. A world government will come out of the abyss, likely communistic in nature –ruthless in disposition. It is then that the beast will begin speaking as a dragon.
Then the Governing Body and all of Jehovah’s Witnesses will be forced to ponder the question posed by Jehovah through Isaiah: “Who is blind except my servant, so deaf as the messenger I send? Who is so blind as the one rewarded, so blind as the servant of Jehovah?”
