Look! I have forewarned you

2020-06-01T06:09:07-04:00December 7th, 2017|Commentary|

Thursday, December 7 Take your stand against [Satan], firm in the faith.—1 Pet. 5:9. Satan is at war with the anointed remnant and the “other sheep.” The Devil’s goal is to devour as many of Jehovah’s servants as he can in the short time that he has left. Can we win our fight against Satan? Yes! The Bible says: “Oppose the Devil, and he will flee from you.” Many scoff at [...]

False Christs and False Prophets Will Arise

2019-11-04T09:06:41-05:00October 31st, 2019|Page One|

This is the second installment of a forthcoming brochure. When speaking of his second coming Jesus saw fit to warn his followers to beware of the inevitable presence of deceivers and imposters who will both precede and accompany his parousia. In fact, in responding to his apostles’ request for a sign Jesus first warned them to look out that they are not misled because many will [...]

The Kingdom of God is in your midst

2019-11-07T09:37:07-05:00November 7th, 2019|Page One|

Part III Concerning the false prophets who will be empowered to perform great signs and wonders during the tribulation, why did Jesus say “if possible, even the chosen ones” would be deceived —implying that it will not be possible? What factor will make it impossible for the chosen ones to be taken in by the deception that will mislead many? Consider the experience of the [...]

Satan Keeps Transforming Himself into an Angel of Light

2019-10-01T13:52:55-04:00September 28th, 2013|WT Review|

The leading article of the December, 2013 Watchtower entitled – Avoid Being Quickly Shaken from Your Reason – states in the opening paragraph:

Hoaxes, scams, and deception  are all too common in the present  system  of things. This should not surprise us. The Bible makes it plain that Satan the Devil is  an  accomplished deceiver,  and  he  is the  ruler of this system.

To be sure, Satan is an accomplished deceiver and the god and ruler of this present system, as the Scriptures reveal. However, we should not suppose that the old serpent has no influence over true Christians – and not just emanating from the outside world as the Society intimates, but from within the organization – from the highest level. Consider the scriptural precedents that follow.

How could Jehovahs Witnesses be so wrong?

2019-10-01T13:00:19-04:00September 1st, 2014|Mailbag|

QUESTION: How could Jehovahs Witnesses or the Governing Body misunderstand a simple, plain reading verse, such as Acts 1:11? New International Version: "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."To be anything other than Jesus setting foot on this [...]

30 Questions for Jehovah’s Witnesses

2020-10-18T13:57:08-04:00November 12th, 2011|Page Two|

The apostle exhorted Christians to “make sure of all things.” The Watchtower Society even published a minister’s handbook by that title that is intended to aid Jehovah’s Witnesses to help others see the falsity of many of Christendom’s teachings. However, ought not Jehovah’s Witnesses also make sure of what the Watchtower teaches, particularly with regards to prophecy and the return of Christ? Most of the questions [...]

What is the meaning of prophetic chronology?

2019-09-19T14:27:39-04:00April 28th, 2019|Daniel, Mailbag|

Please allow me to ask about what is your take on Daniel's 7 times, 2300, 1260, 1290 and 1335 days since his prophecy of 70 weeks of years pointed correctly to the first coming of Jesus? Ever since C.T. Russell first came on the scene the Bible Students and now Jehovah’s Witnesses, have been mesmerized by the seven times of Daniel’s prophecy. What is particularly interesting [...]

An artfully contrived false story

2020-12-16T16:26:41-05:00August 12th, 2019|Page Two|

From the very beginning, the tiny Bible study group that formed around C.T. Russell believed that Jesus had already returned. When they were sorting out the elementary biblical doctrines from all the rubbish taught by the churches, they were also captivated by the notion of an invisible parousia, which was an idea promoted by George Storrs who was many years Russell’s senior. Russell realized that the [...]

Bethel’s 100 Year Long Kingdom Hoax – How Will It Affect You?

2019-10-01T13:48:55-04:00October 20th, 2013|WT Review|

This article was originally written in October, 2013, but has not been updated as of October, 2014. As all of Jehovah’s Witnesses realize - and many others besides - 2014 marks 100 years since the kingdom of God is purported to have begun ruling. And apparently the Society is not waiting for October to do damage-control, but is being preemptive with the very first Watchtower of [...]

Where is this Promised Presence of His?

2023-02-05T09:02:25-05:00December 4th, 2009|Page Two|

Whether or not you believe in the Second Coming of Christ, most people throughout the world at least know something of the concept—even those who do not even consider themselves to be Christians. Perhaps even more widespread than the various forms of Christian eschatology, though, is the knowledge of Noah’s Flood.   Again, whether persons believe there really was a global deluge is not the point. [...]
