From the earliest days of Charles Russell, the Bible Student group he organized was led to believe that an invisible presence of Christ was underway. Originally, the parousia was believed to have begun in 1874. From its inception, the Watchtower pointed forward to 1914 as a year fixed by Bible chronology when anarchy and the war of Armageddon would bring an end to Satan’s dominion over mankind. After the Great War of 1914 ended several decades later the Watchtower re-worked its chronology so that 1914 became the year that Christ came into his Kingdom and began an invisible presence. The Watchtower’s movable interpretation is regarded as a foundational article of faith that Jehovah’s Witnesses cannot question. The primary purpose of this website is to debunk the Watchtower’s 1914 doctrine and show how the fabrication of a faux parousia is actually the fulfillment of Bible prophecy and a necessary precursor to the genuine second coming and a visible parousia—otherwise known as the revelation of Jesus Christ.
The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society has accomplished a phenomenal work, producing Bible literature in over 1,000 languages and Bibles in well over 200 languages. Jehovah’s Witnesses have been entrusted with the basic truth of the Bible—truth that eludes the masses of churchgoers and their theologians and clergy.
