QUESTION: On some of your videos and podcasts you mention Jehovah will ultimately destroy the current regime that is the Watchtower. I’m interested how you imagine this will take place. Will it be through the holy spirit, invisibly, or will he take more physical intervention? I hope you can shed some insight into this question.

ANSWER: Actually, the videos and podcasts do not really delve that deeply into prophecy and matters pertaining to Jehovah’s judgments. But there is a fair bit of written material presented on this website for the purpose of informing Jehovah’s Witnesses about the coming judgment of the house of God.

As was discussed in podcast episode #44, the Watchtower Society is the symbolic dragnet of Jesus’ parable in the 13th chapter of Matthew. I originally published that view nearly 10 years ago. Up until just a few years ago the Watchtower taught that Christendom was the dragnet. But that is unreasonable, considering that not all of Jehovah’s Witnesses come out of Christendom. Some come from atheistic backgrounds or other non-Christian religions. And besides that, a growing percentage of Jehovah’s Witnesses are second and third generation JWs. They have surely not come out of Christendom. So, it was a fairly significant revision in that respect.

However, the Watchtower continues to teach that the dragnet was hauled upon the beach back in 1918 and that the angels have been sorting the good fishes from the bad ever since; which, of course, makes no sense. But because they are inseparably wedded to the fiction that the conclusion of the system of things began in 1914 they are compelled to continue to espouse such absurdities.

But it does seem reasonable that the dragnet is Christ’s congregation because that is what people are gathered into. In his letter to the Colossians Paul referred to Christ’s congregation as the kingdom, saying that Christians had been gathered into ‘the kingdom of the son of God’s love.’

In a related parable in the 13th chapter of Matthew, regarding the wheat and the weeds, Jesus explained that the angels are the reapers who are dispatched to clear out of his kingdom all persons doing lawlessness and all things that cause stumbling. So, that means that God allows wicked persons to reside within his kingdom, that is to say, within Christ’s congregation, up until the harvest.

So, the question is how will the angels go about their work? Will they physically remove wicked individuals? No, actually, just the opposite. Allow me to explain.

The return of Jesus Christ will be the most momentous event in history. But there is a problem. The return of Jesus poses a big problem for Jehovah’s Witnesses and a potentially lethal stumbling block, due to the fact that Jehovah’s Witnesses are thoroughly convinced that Jesus Christ has already returned and that virtually all of God’s judgments have already been rendered.

For example, Jehovah’s Witnesses have been taught that Jesus arrived in the spiritual temple back in 1918 to throw out the proverbial moneychangers, who were supposedly the clergy. As another example, the Watchtower teaches that the seven-headed wild beast of Revelation has already received this mortal head wound and miraculously recovered and in the wake of that revival the eighth king began ruling back in 1920 with the inception of the now-non-existent League of Nations. But if that were true it would mean that people of the world have already been condemned for having received the mark of the beast. That is simply absurd.

The coming of Christ will coincide with the world erupting in war, the spread of disease pandemics and widespread food shortages. Then, following swiftly will come the Crash – the complete collapse of the political and economic system.

Obviously, global war and the collapse of the present system of things does not at all fit in with what Jehovah’s Witnesses have been led to expect. After all, according to the Watchtower, other than the actual war of Armageddon the only significant aspect of prophecy yet to be fulfilled is the destruction of Babylon the great. So, at that point the Watchtower’s entire prophetic framework – crafted around the supposed invisible presence of Christ in 1914 – will itself, collapse.

Jehovah’s Witnesses will then be subjected to an intense period of confusion and doubt. And as Jesus foretold, many will be stumbled.

Although the Watchtower will be discredited and quite likely cease functioning as a Bible and tract publishing society, apparently it will still exist in some form. But at that point, it will stand in complete opposition to Christ. It will then be an antichrist.

That is based upon what the prophets say. For instance, the 8th chapter of Isaiah is a prophecy pertaining to Jesus; wherein, God also condemns those who consult the spirit mediums. Here is what it says: “Look! I and the children whom Jehovah has given me are as signs and as miracles in Israel from Jehovah of armies, who is residing in Mount Zion. And in case they should say to you people: ‘Apply to the spiritistic mediums or to those having a spirit of prediction who are chirping and making utterances in low tones,’ is it not to its God that any people should apply?’”

However in the 29th chapter of Isaiah the same reference and comparison is made to spirit mediums and their chirping.  Only the prophecy applies to Ariel at the time God lays siege to it, which parallels the desolation of the holy place about which Christ spoke. Here is a span of versus and the 29th chapter of Isaiah: “Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the town where David encamped! Add year upon year, you people; let the festivals run the round. And I have to make things tight for Ariel, and there must come to be mourning and lamentation, and she must become to me as the altar hearth of God. And I must encamp on all sides against you, and I must lay siege to you with a palisade and raise up against you siegeworks. And you must become low so that you will speak from the very earth, and as from the dust your saying will sound low. And like a spirit medium your voice must become even from the earth, and from the dust your own saying will chirp.”

The significance of this is that at the time God lays siege to his earthly organization it will at that time no longer be his earthly organization. Because the core faction of Jehovah’s Witnesses, among the leadership and the so-called faithful slave, likely within the Governing Body itself, will refuse to accept Christ. At that point their utterances will be as if emanating from the grave, from the dust of which we were made; because from Jehovah’s standpoint they will be spiritually dead. God’s earthly spokesman then will become a mere spirit medium vainly practicing the black art of necromancy on himsef!

As all of Jehovah’s Witnesses surely know, the Watchtower is looked to as the sole channel of spiritual truth on earth. It is the mouthpiece of God. But it is relatively easy to follow men. Everyone does to some degree, whether they are aware of it or not. But during the judgment more will be required of Jehovah’s Witnesses than to simply defer to “the slave.” Just as the first century Hebrew Christians living in Judea and Jerusalem had to make a clean break from Judaism when the Roman desolator suddenly appeared, so too, Jehovah’s Witnesses will be required to forsake the Watchtower Society in order to demonstrate their faith in the-then reigning Christ.

Consider this passage taken from the fifth chapter of Amos: “For this is what Jehovah has said to the house of Israel, ‘Search for me, and keep living. And do not search for Bethel, and to Gilgal you must not come, and to Beer-sheba you must not pass over; because Gilgal itself will without fail go into exile; and as regards Bethel, it will become something uncanny. Search for Jehovah, and keep living, that he may not become operative just like fire, O house of Joseph, and it may not actually devour, and Bethel may not be with no one to extinguish it. O you who are turning justice into mere wormwood, and the ones who have cast righteousness itself to the earth. The Maker of the Kimah constellation and the Kesil constellation, and the One turning deep shadow into the morning itself, and the One who has made day itself dark as night, the One calling for the waters of the sea, that he may pour them out upon the surface of the earth—Jehovah is his name; he who is causing a despoiling to flash forth upon someone strong, that despoiling itself may come upon even a fortified place.”

God will require that people search for him at that time. Simply saying: “the Society says” won’t cut it then. That’s because the operation of error that God has allowed to be put in place will go into effect then. What does that mean? Well, keep in mind the operation of error has to do with the setting up of a fake parousia as an immediate prelude to the actual manifestation of Jesus. The operation of error is the means by which God would judge his people. Isn’t that what it says, ‘that they may all be judged’? So, those who cling to the operation of error and who remain “loyal” to the totally discredited Society will be condemned.

It is a rich irony that the Watchtower long ago decided to call its headquarters Bethel – meaning the house of God. And as the prophecy says “Bethel will become something uncanny.”

So that is how the separation will occur. Those with true faith will be gathered to Christ.  They will be ushered into the secret place of the Most High and the angels will be the doorkeepers – forbidding the wicked from entry. The faithless, the mere followers of men, will be left behind – abandoned to their dying Watchtower religion. And that is where the weeping and gnashing of their teeth shall be when Jehovah unleashes his earthly executioner.
