Fraud, forgery, and fakery are very common. Fake news, lying politicians and scheming Wall Street moneymen are the order of the day. Commercial interests routinely misrepresent their products or in some other way intentionally deceive the public. Wars are typically started by so-called false flags attacks and a barrage of propaganda. On an individual level, it is rare to find a truly honest person.

It is no wonder the world is full of lies and liars when the god of this world is the one whom Jesus said was the father of the lie —Satan the Devil.

Foremost Satan is intent on deceiving us about God. Billions of people believe the religion they are born into, be it Hinduism, Islam, Catholicism or whatever. The so-called education system is designed to brainwash impressionable minds into believing evolution, for which there is not a single shred of proof. Still, the lies are very, very powerful.

Jesus referred to himself as “the truth.” He was not merely a truthful person. He is the central figure in all of God’s purpose. He is the A to Z, the beginning and the end —the very Word of the God of truth.

It is appropriate that Jehovah’s Witnesses refer to their faith as “the truth.” For instance, it is not uncommon for someone to ask how another came into the truth or how long someone has been in the truth.

Ironically, Jesus used that very expression when he spoke of the Devil, when he said “he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of the lie.” —John 8:44

According to Jesus Satan was once in the truth, but he did not remain true. The same may be said for all of the angels who left their original positions in heaven. So, being “in the truth” has to do with exclusively obeying God.

The truth does not change. However, as God’s purpose unfolds those who wish to remain “in the truth” must accept whatever becomes manifest as the truth, no matter how strange or foreign it may seem. Accepting the revelation of truth may require that a person leave their comfort zone.

For example, in the first century the Jews had to accept Jesus as the foretold Messiah if they wished to go forward in the truth. It was not an easy thing to do, as all of the Jewish religious authorities were opposed to Jesus. One Jewish zealot who was especially opposed to Christ was a man named Saul. He was intent on arresting any Jew who professed belief in Jesus. One day as he traveled on the road to arrest more Christians he was blinded by a great flash of light. The Truth revealed himself to Saul and he quickly became a believer.

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that being in the truth requires that they remain in subjection to the authority of the Governing Body and the Watchtower. They cannot imagine a scenario that would not involve following the visible organization. And to that end, the Governing Body has placed the Watchtower as the centerpiece of the modern fulfillment of all prophecy. It is the spiritual paradise foretold in prophecy. Jehovah’s Witnesses speak the pure language of truth. Nations are streaming up the path to the mountain of the house of Jehovah, which is to say Jehovah’s Witnesses believe the Watchtower is the mountain.

But what if the future revelation of truth requires Jehovah’s Witnesses to change their religion, so-to-speak? That would certainly impose a test of faith not unlike what was imposed upon the Jews when the Truth walked among them.

The very suggestion that the Watchtower may not always be the font of truth that it purports to be will sound preposterous to the vast majority of Jehovah’s Witnesses. They will reflexively assume it to be an apostate lie. But the truth has always been right there —before us.

For example, as mentioned above, the Watchtower claims that Jehovah’s Witnesses are fulfilling the prophecy in the third chapter of Zephaniah regarding the pure language. However, the prophecy is quite clear that the change occurs during the day of Jehovah. Here is what Jehovah’s Witnesses have read many, many times: “‘So keep yourselves in expectation of me,’ declares Jehovah, ‘Until the day when I rise up to take plunder, for my judicial decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out on them my indignation, all my burning anger; for by the fire of my zeal the whole earth will be consumed. For then I will change the language of the peoples to a pure language, so that all of them may call on the name of Jehovah, to serve him shoulder to shoulder.’” —Zephaniah 3:8-9

When does God “change the language of the people to a pure language”? After God pours out his anger. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. And yet the official teaching of the Watchtower is that Jehovah’s Witnesses are already speaking the pure language. Who are you going to believe —the Watchtower or the Bible?

There are many other instances where the Watchtower has simply flipped the truth on its head. Jehovah’s Witnesses are apparently mesmerized by the supposed sagacity of “the slave” and allow themselves to be bamboozled into believing lies in order to be “in the truth.”

Interestingly, in the very context of the passage quoted above in the aftermath of God’s rage and the purge of the haughty, the scripture says: “On that day you will not be put to shame because of all your deeds with which you rebelled against me, for then I will remove the haughty boasters from among you; and you will never again be haughty in my holy mountain. I will allow a humble and lowly people to remain in your midst, and they will take refuge in the name of Jehovah. Those remaining of Israel will practice no unrighteousness; they will not speak a lie, nor will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouths; they will feed and lie down, and no one will make them afraid.”

Now, consider what is stated in the Pure Worship publication. The prophecy of Zephaniah clearly indicates that the expression of God’s anger towards those whom he recognizes as his people takes place in the future concurrent with the outpouring of his fury upon all the nations. In the aftermath there will no longer be any haughty liars. Whereas, the Pure Worship book claims that God’s anger subsided in 1914 and since then God has dismissed the bad shepherds from tyrannizing his sheep.

Here is an excerpt from the Pure Worship publication:

Are you not delighted to live during this thrilling time of restoration? We see the fulfillment of Ezekiel’s prophecies in every facet of our worship today. We can be confident that Jehovah now looks on his people with favor, just as he foretold through Ezekiel: “I will take pleasure in you.” (Ezek. 20:41) Do you realize what a privilege you have to be part of the unified, well-fed people who are offering praise to Jehovah around the world—a people freed after centuries of spiritual exile? Still, some of Ezekiel’s restoration prophecies will see a greater fulfillment yet.”

Just to highlight the fraud the Watchtower is perpetrating, the prophecies of Zephaniah and Ezekiel are similar in many ways. Both prophets focus on religious corruption and idolatry being practiced in Jerusalem by the leaders of God’s people. Both prophets issued God’s warnings. Both prophecies have a broader application to the time of Christ’s Second Coming and the day of Jehovah. Both prophecies foretell of horrific destruction will come upon Jerusalem, followed by a restoration. According to Zephaniah the restoration unmistakably takes place after the purge of the faithless and wicked. That is when God will take pleasure in his humbled, redeemed people. Here is what Jehovah has said: “Jehovah your God is in your midst. As a mighty One, he will save. He will exult over you with great joy. He will become silent in his love. He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy. I will gather together those grieving over their absence from your festivals; they were absent from you because of bearing reproach for her.” —Zephaniah 3:17-18

According to the Pure Worship book, there is no parallel to the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians in the Christian era. Except God supposedly poured out his wrath on Christendom for about 1,700 years; until 1914, that is when the grand restoration is said to have occurred. The Watchtower’s interpretation is clearly at odds with the prophecy of Zephaniah.

Paul foretold that Jehovah would allow an operation of Satan to test our love of the truth. The deluding influence goes through a man of lawlessness within Jesus’ congregation for the purpose of replacing Christ. Satan backs up his man of lawlessness by performing deceptive signs and wonders and every unrighteous deception. By setting up a fake return of Christ in 1914 there is no basis for Jehovah’s Witnesses to expect any future coming of Christ for judgment.

Jesus sternly warned his followers to be on guard for the false prophets and false Christs during the conclusion —specifically, during the tribulation: “Then, too, if anyone says to you, ‘See! Here is the Christ,’ or, ‘See! There he is,’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will perform signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the chosen ones. You, then, watch out. I have told you all things beforehand.” —Mark 13:21-23

The Watchtower obviously has some credibility, at least with millions of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It is obvious the churches are rotten to the core and have no truth. That being so, it is not possible for the chosen ones among Jehovah’s Witnesses to be influenced, let alone led astray, by the babblings of some clergyman.

However, given the very fact that the Watchtower has created an elaborate myth regarding 1914 and the organization being the center of pure worship, which is demonstrably not true —it is evident that Jehovah’s Witnesses have already been subjected to the false prophets. The reason it is of little consequence now is because Christ has not returned.

What signs and wonders will Satan perform in the future to deceive, if possible, the chosen ones? That remains to be seen. But given the Watchtower’s record to date, there is no lie they won’t tell. What else ought we expect from an operation of Satan?
