It has been called the most significant U.S. presidential election in our time. And there is no reason to doubt that. Even Jehovah’s Witnesses, who, being non-political —hardly giving notice to politics at all —seem to have more than merely a passing interest in this election result. That being so, a few readers have asked for my thoughts on this recent development that seems to have shocked the world.

I am naturally cynical of the whole political scene —as are many. There seems to be just a few politicians who have not been lying con men. Indeed, honest men and women find it virtually impossible to succeed in the corporate  or political world. And we know why that is —Satan the Devil, the one whom Jesus called the Father of the lie, is the god of this dark and turbulent system.

But to put things in proper perspective, there is a God of gods —Jehovah God, and there is the one to whom all power and authority has been conferred —Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords. Of this one the apostle Paul stated at Colossians 2:10 : he is the head of all government and authority. In his letter to the Romans Paul referred to the superior authorities —that is to say, the secular, civil authorities —as being placed in their relative positions by God.

Paul wrote to Timothy urging him to make “supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made concerning all sorts of men, concerning kings and all those who are in high positions, so that we may go on leading a calm and quiet life with complete godly devotion and seriousness.”

Presumably, being the head of all government Christ may intervene from the invisible at times in order to steer history to suit God’s purpose. This is not without precedent. In the book of Daniel the prophet had a supernatural encounter with an angel who revealed to him that he “stood up as a strengthener and as a fortress” to Darius the Mede, the king of Persia. (Daniel 11:1)

In view of the above it seems that since its founding America has been a special place. Although the world has been engulfed in two world wars and countless lesser wars, America and Canada have been relatively unscathed. And the Bible Students and Jehovah’s Witnesses have benefited greatly from the relative peace and prosperity —being able to lead calm and quiet lives of godly devotion. We would not be too off the mark to agree with those patriots who  sing “God bless America.” Obviously, he has blessed the nation.

However, the angel who strengthened Darius only did so temporarily —until God’s purpose was accomplished in connection with his people. Eventually Persia was toppled by Alexander the Great. America is destined for the same eventuality.

While Jehovah’s Witnesses expect all the nations to be crushed by Christ and his angelic cavalry on the battlefield of Armageddon, that is not the eventuality to which I refer.

Exactly 20 years ago in October/November, for no apparent reason I picked up the Bible and began reading in the middle of the book of Ezekiel. Specifically, I started in the chapters 26-32, pertaining to the fall of Tyre and Egypt. I read that span of chapters over and over, as it became readily apparent to me that Tyre and Egypt are intended to foreshadow the Anglo-American duo —the imperial city of Tyre symbolizing London and Egypt portraying America. Their downfall precedes the world-crushing war of Armageddon, which is evident by the fact the the fall of both entities is said to shock the world – being described in prophecy as an appointed time of nations.

By the way, my obsession with the Hebrew prophets went on for several months —years, really —so that I read the minor prophets like Joel, Amos, Habakkuk, Zephaniah and Micah, dozens of times. That intense study ultimately led to the production of the book, Jehovah Himself Has Become King.

Abraham Lincoln

As regards the unlikely election of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States, in order to appreciate the full import of it this event ought to be placed in the context of the centuries-long, ongoing conflict between the two inimical systems of government —the empire and the republic. The empire is what most people call the globalists, or the elite. The republic is the government of the people, by the people, for the people —enshrined in Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.

The Scriptures symbolize this phenomenon as the incongruous mixture of iron and clay and the struggle between the kings of the north and south.

William McKinley

It has always been the intention of the empire to crush the republic of America. After their failed scheme to support the Confederacy in order to divide the states during the American Civil war, the British resorted to a series of assassinations of American presidents, beginning with Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield and William McKinley. (See Lyndon LaRouche: Why the British Kill American Presidents) About the time C.T. Russel launched the Watchtower movement London put in place a scheme to subvert its wayward colony from within by promoting Anglophiles as presidential candidates. This resulted in the creation of the Federal Reserve Bank in 1913 and luring America into WWI on the side of the British.

After WWI the British set up the Council on Foreign Relations, the American counterpart of London’s Royal Institute of International Affairs, otherwise known as Chatham House. The purpose of the CFR is to develop policies and exert influence over American politics that weaken the nationalistic, isolationist and protectionist tendencies of the republic. The intention of the lords of London is to subvert America into being the neo- British Empire —to use it as their dumb giant to loot and subjugate the world.

However, during the London-orchestrated crash and resultant Great Depression, Franklin Roosevelt dealt the empire a considerable setback, as he went to war against those whom he called the “economic royalists” — in other words, the European imperialists. (Webster Tarpley: How the City of London Created the Great Depression)

Wall Street even conspired to overthrow Roosevelt by a military coup. Had it not been for the actions of a general and patriot by the name of Smedley Butler the scheme may well have succeeded. Interestingly, all of the conspirators were members of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Obviously, it was not Jehovah’s time to discard America.

Gradually, though, the New Deal and the restraints that Roosevelt had imposed upon the “economic royalists” have been eroded. The Bretton Woods system of fixed rate exchange was dissolved in 1973 and the Glass-Steagall Act was repealed by Clinton in 1999. A mere nine years later the whole system nearly crashed as a result of the unbridled money printing and speculative frenzy that was unleashed as a result. (Although politicians friendly to Wall Street claim that Glass-Steagall would not have prevented the 2008 crash, London let the cat out of the bag in 2010 when a bill came up in Congress to restore the bank separation imposed by Glass-Steagall —calling it a “hostile act.”)

Since then the ongoing bailout of the bankrupt system, via zero percent interest rates for Wall Street, has decimated the middle class and impoverished millions. It was the discontent of the “forgotten man,” a phrase coined by FDR, that was the populist groundswell that has swept Trump into the presidency.

Trump, a Democrat-turned-Republican, is, however, the least likely candidate to renew the legacy of Franklin Roosevelt the John Kennedy. He is, after all, the casino mogul and producer of insipid and stupefying television entertainment, which is the modern version of the Roman Empire’s bread and circuses.

Nevertheless, the political novice and outsider has expressed his determination to renew Roosevelt’s Glass-Steagall Act. For that reason Bloomberg financial news has dubbed Trump as the Devil Wall Street Doesn’t Know. (As opposed to the Devil they know.) It is no secret that Wall Street spent millions of dollars on Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Trump also espouses the same sort of protectionism that is an anathema to the globalists, who see the world as their private property to be exploited.

Perhaps most disconcerting to the globalist cabal who control the military-industrial complex, Trump has stated that he would annihilate the various terrorist groups like ISIS that have been covertly organized, trained and funded by London’s imperial apparatus, primarily Saudi Arabia, that have served as the pretext for the endless war on terrorists, which in reality has been a front for regime change and the destruction of Iraq, Libya and Syria.

putinNot only that, Trump has said he would talk to Putin. That may not seem out of the ordinary, since even during the Cold War American presidents regularly communicated with their Russian counterparts. But given the fact that the empire has spent the past 20 years encircling Russia with military bases and failed states, creating an Arc of Crisis on Russia’s borders, and most recently launching a full-scale propaganda campaign against Putin in particular, due to his intervention in Ukraine and Syria, along with international sanctions and even a call to bring Putin up on war crimes, an American president who seeks rapprochement with Russia is unavoidably —perhaps even unwittingly —declaring war on the City of London. (Given Trump’s Scottish heritage, he is probably no Anglophile.)

Whereas, the republic survived the previous assassinations of its leaders and various attempts to overthrow the government and crash the economy, an American president who goes against the war hawks and the vultures of Wall Street and the City of London is quite likely to meet the same fate as Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and Kennedy. Should Trump proceed on the course he has intimated in his campaign it is inconceivable that the forces arrayed against the American republic, and the nation-state system globally, should idly standby and allow their scheme to be dismantled. After all, it is written regarding the king of the north: “And he will prove successful until the denunciation comes to a finish; because what is determined must take place.”Daniel 11:36b

It may well turn out that Trump will be the catalyst that impels the imperialists to accelerate their plot to destroy the United States and implement a global government beyond the reach of the unwashed masses, that “basket of deplorables” that catapulted Trump into the most powerful office in the world. Time will tell.

However, it is well to keep in mind that Christ is the head of all government and during the time of the end Christ will acquisition the antitypical Babylon as his executioner —the killer of nations and punisher of his people. That is the role of the eighth king of Revelation. And the eighth king succeeds the seventh.

Indeed, “what is determined must take place.”
