Saturday, January 28 Let me pin him to the ground with the spear just once, and I will not need to do it twice.—1 Sam. 26:8. When Abishai crept into Saul’s camp, he did not have his loyalties in the proper order. Out of loyalty to David, Abishai was eager to kill King Saul, but David restrained him, realizing that it would be wrong to lift one’s hand [...]

Sunday, February 14 Well done, good and faithful slave!—Matt. 25:21. In the four illustrations recorded at Matthew 24:45 to 25:46, Jesus highlights traits that would distinguish his true followers in these last days. In the illustration involving the faithful slave, Jesus highlights the need for the small group of anointed ones entrusted with feeding his domestics during the last days to be faithful and discreet. In the [...]

Overall, it seems that the Governing Body are in the process of subtly de-emphasizing 1914 in preparation for 2014, which will mark a century since Jesus is supposed to have begun ruling. They probably intend to completely walk away from 1914 by next year and hope that the majority of Jehovah's Witnesses will not notice. There is no question that the process is well underway.
It was a bad idea to add daily comments into one long post. It makes for slow loading for those with slow connections, and it works against good search engine practices. So, I will be posting individual articles from now on, as before. Saturday, June 27 Accept . . . the sword of the spirit, that is, God’s word. —Eph. 6:17. The sword used by Roman infantrymen at [...]
From the very beginning, the leading men of Israel were prone to idolatry. It was the brother of Moses, Aaron, who made a golden calf for the camp to worship while his brother was on the mountain receiving the Ten Commandments. Shortly after Israel settled in the promised land they began worshipping the baals. Over and over again God would chastise them. They would repent [...]
Sunday, February 19 Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?—Matt. 24:45. When early in the last century a small group of diligent Bible students was appointed as “the faithful and discreet slave,” much of their communication with the “domestics” was in English. That “slave” has put forth great effort [...]
QUESTION: Robert, What does the Devil gain, what advantage does he acquire by implementing and promoting a fake parousia of Christ? If one was to ask why is it such a big deal? Why would he go through such an elaborate reach to cause a war in 1914 to convince the masses Christ parousia has begun? Even if the Watchtower changes their position on 1914, don't [...]
“On this account be glad, you heavens and you who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing that he has a short period of time.” ___________________ The world we all inhabit is about to change in ways that are literally unimaginable. An entire global system – civilization itself – [...]
QUESTION: Since I have learned that Jesus has not appointed the slave yet and it is for a future time; I have being wondering who actually is feeding us now? Was Br. Russell actually used by Jehovah? I actually like to think so... because the doctrines are accurate. But, when he died did Satan use Br. Rutherford and contaminate the spiritual food? I am confused. Hope you can understand my question [...]
The Watchtower Society has done it again!
I have never really used the word "umpteenth" before, at least not in print, but it may be applicable now - as in the expression: the "umpteenth time"the Governing Body has revised and redefined that which is an integral part of their teaching on prophecy having to do with the return of Jesus Christ.
At this year’s Annual Meeting, held at the posh Stanley Theater in Jersey City, the eight member Governing Body of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society declared itself to be the embodiment of the faithful and discreet slave. And now all the individuals, including both the anointed and those who are defined as the great crowd, are the domestics that are fed by the slave. Okay. But alas, there are a number of inherent contradictions with this newly revised view.
But first, though, I stand corrected.
