MailBag Collection
Since first opening to the public, e-Watchman has received countless letters and emails supporting the efforts being made to keep Jehovah's modern-day people awake to Bible prophecy and to warn of Jehovah's impending judgment against his organization--but especially against those who have acted wickedly against the covenant that Jehovah's Witnesses enjoy today. In addition to the letters of support and encouragement, e-Watchman has had the privilege of responding to various letters of concern, doubt, and accusation. Those letters are being made available here, for the reading public.

- If God intended to create a peaceful world, with friendly animals and beautiful green gardens everywhere, then why did he give Elephants ivory defenses? And why do rhinos have horns to defend themselves? Why do Sharks have 4 rows of razor sharp teeth? Why are there animals suited for artic weather, or for desert? If God intended to make the planet an Edenesque paradise, why are the animals the way they are?
- If it is true, as I have been taught, that Jehovah withholds His spirit from a congregation that is harboring a willful sinner; then is it not also true that Jehovah is now withholding His spirit from the Watchtower Society because of the unresolved child abuse situation and the UN NGO debacle? And if that is the case, then should witnesses be still under compulsion to attend 5 meetings each week when some of the things taught may not even be prophetically correct?
- Have you done any thinking on Ezekiel 38 and 39? Have you researched how we came up with the idea that Gog pictures Satan in his debased condition? It seems to me that Ezekiel is saying what the other prophets have to say about the king of north. Your take?
- What are the demographics of the anointed? My cynical response might be old white men of European heritage. Has anyone attempted to determine how many anointed ones are represented by all races of men/women even those in middle eastern and Asian countries where the work of Jehovah's Witnesses is banned? Wouldn't the 144,000 include all races? If a woman is one of the anointed, how does that affect her standing with non-anointed elders when there could be a difference in real understanding?
- There are many people who claim that Jehovah's witnesses have twisted and mistranslated the bible. It is said that they have changed the words and therefore changed the meaning. Could you please shed some light on these things?
- I have recently read an article that stated that Jehovah's Witnesses are now using certain components of blood in transfusions, (for example, something in cow's blood). I was under the impression that no blood whatsoever was to be taken into the body, either eaten or by means of a blood transfusion. Was the source misinformed, or is this true?
- In what sense would Jesus come in the same manner as his disciples saw him going into the sky (Acts 1:11)? The Watchtower 1990, June 1 page 11 says that only Jesus' disciples saw him leave, in the same manner only Jehovah's witnesses have recognized his invisible return. If Jesus didn't begin to rule in 1914, as I now believe, how must we understand these words in Acts?
- In Revelation 20:5, it says that "The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended." Does this mean ones with an earthly hope who have died don’t get resurrected until after the thousand year reign?
- In this week's book study (30 June) Isaiah 60:18 was quoted in the Isaiah book: "No more will violence be heard in your land, despoiling or breakdown within your boundaries." Of course, the WT interprets the violence to people of the world. But Jesus said in the signs of the last days that people will hate another and betray one another. There will also be increasing of lawlessness. The context suggests Jehovah's people. Is Isaiah 60 describing the same?
- In light of the many problems with Watchtower doctrine you have highlighted, how can I, as the husband and father, shoulder the responsibility of raising my children in accord with Ephesians 6:4? I certainly want to help prepare my wife and children for a chance of survival during the great tribulation. Please help!
- When is the fulfillment of Amos 9:11 to be fulfilled? Was it in the first century, since James quotes from it in Acts? Or is it at the coming of Christ in the future?
- June 22
- There seems to be a contradiction with the Society's teaching that the separation of the sheep and goats is in the future and that people are presently being marked in their foreheads for survival as depicted by the man with the secretary's inkhorn in the book of Ezekiel. Do you agree?
- In the Watchtower May 15 pg 16 it discusses Rev 2:18-29. Regarding "that woman Jezebel", the Watchtower strongly indicates that it is a female influence. If that is the case, then what about Babylon the Great? She is described as a woman, therefore must picture all female worshippers of false religion?
- Recently, I met with two Jehovah's witnesses in my home and we discussed the 'great crowd.' In each verse that we read the great crowd or great multitude was in heaven. I asked the two young women why they believe the great crowd is on earth when we clearly read it's in heaven. They were confused and contradicted themselves, going back and forth between the great crowd and the 144,000. We finally had to end the meeting because nothing made sense. Because Rev. is discussing events on earth and in heaven, why is it so hard to see the obvious, that the great crowd is in heaven at the throne just as it says in the Bible?
- In Isaiah 14 verse 1, where in says Israel does it mean the country. If so do you think it could be a prophecy about President Bush's road map to peace?
- So, now you are the watchman are you? Only looking for the weak ones who have left Jehovah's organization? You have allowed yourself to be misled. I find it disgusting that you would mimic the official site and claim yourself to be the one on the watch. Problem with Pride?
- In Revelation 1:10 John says the following: "By inspiration I came to be in the Lord's day." Revelation 2:1-3:22 continues to speak about Jesus' counsel to the 7 congregations. This counsel was given by Jesus because of the problems that arose within those congregations. We know of course that this counsel in reality is directed to the anointed congregation of Christ; who are alive during the "Lord's day." But, the thing is, all the problems Jesus described seems to be occurring right at this moment too. Therefore, isn't it possible we are in the "Lord's day" as John described? In other words: Is it possible to witness all these problems Jesus spoke about, without actually being in the "Lord's day"?
- Why do you shorten people's questions with ellipses (...)? It cannot be because they are too long because a number of the questions have been quite long with no ellipses. Is it because they are asking you something you do not want to answer or that may disprove all your writings?... You sir, are a charlatan and a fraud. What say you? Instead of hiding in cyberspace, post this question without ellipses and answer it!

- When did the change occur concerning the generation that would not die before the war of Armageddon takes place? And could the shortage of food as a sign of the last days be a shortage of spiritual food that will take place in the future?
- There is no doubt in my mind that this is not and has never been God's Organization and the proof is in its history. Can you prove me wrong?
- Last Service Meeting (on Tuesday, June 17th) a sister read 2 Timothy 3:1-5. As I was reading it, I thought: will this happen among Jehovah's people during the "last days"? How do these verses fit in your view of Bible prophecy? Honestly, I believe that the way you view Bible prophecy is very reasonable. And that you're doing an excellent service, by encouraging those who left the organization to come back. But, aren't you afraid that people will turn to you for spiritual nutrition instead of the Watchtower? What if your views turn out to the wrong? Will you continue serving Jehovah? Will you be willing to do it according to what Jehovah shows you to be right?
- I would like to ask a question (and attempt to answer it) what Jesus himself asked: "Who REALLY is the Faithful and Discreet Slave?" Or more importantly: Who will be appointed over all of Jesus' belongings?
- Regarding the NGO issue: Everything I've read to date says that the Guardian newspaper broke the story on October 15, 2001, yet the UN DPI issued a letter on October 11, 2001 stating that on October 9, 2001 (a good week prior to the story "breaking") that the WTS had asked for and received the termination of NGO status. So how is it that everyone has the idea that they pulled-out of the NGO agreement only AFTER the story broke? I know that timing is not the meat of the issue, but it does add to the impression that the WTS got "caught" instead of seeing the problem first.
- Micah 4:1-4, speaks of 'law going forth from Zion and Jerusalem.' Which Jerusalem would this be since the visible organization will have been rejected by this time?
- Witnesses believe as a doctrine...that all the brothers in the first century were of the anointed. However in the Bible, the apostle Paul has at one point clearly stated that there were two distinctive groups of faithful brothers at the time. 1 Corinthians 1:1-2 says: "Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through God's will, and Sosthenes our brother to the congregation of God that is in Corinth, to you who have been sanctified in union with Christ Jesus, called to be holy ones, together with all who everywhere are calling upon the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours." Here Paul describes those "who have been sanctified in union with Christ Jesus, called to be holy ones" and then explains that these holy ones are "together with all who everywhere are calling upon the name of our Lord" finishing his greeting by saying "their Lord and ours." What would be your thoughts on this?

- In Jeremiah 8:10&11 the prophet and the priest are acting falsely and saying "there is peace," when there is no peace", will this yet happen again, or has it already begun?
- Dear brother, Ro 2:14, 15 mentions people of the nations doing law because of their conscience. Then vs.16 relates this to the judgment of Jesus, is this suggesting that some among the nations would receive a favorable judgment?
- Dear brother, I find it hard to accept that the 1260, 1290, 1335; 2300 days are one and the same. For example, the question of Daniel in 8:13 has reference to the 'transgression' causing desolation. Could it be that the 2300 days have already started (maybe at the time the GB separated from the legal entity) and that the other time periods will start at different times during the 2300 days and will all culminate at the same time?
- With those dimensions: 135 meters long, 22.5 meters wide and 13.5 meters high, could the ark of Noah be large enough to have held all those animals and stored enough food to feed for 150 days some rhinos, elephants, hippos, lions, tigers, .... It is a huge boat, but quite frankly, not enough to hold every animals and food for 150 days?
- I was at a pioneer meeting in the early 1990's and the circuit overseer left me the impression that only pioneers were actually whole-souled to Jehovah and the only one's really doing Jehovah's will. This really disturbed me. Your comment please.
- Given the life and death challenge that someday will be placed upon Christians to refrain from worshipping the image of the beast, I'm wanting to clarify exactly what constitutes "an act of worship" in the area of flag salutes, national anthems, etc., and the scriptural course to take when faced with those events at school, ballgames, etc. For example: Does standing (if sitting) when the national anthem starts playing constitute "an act of worship" in same sense as the account in Daniel with Nebuchadnezzar's gold idol and the bowing down at the start of the music constituted worship?
- Watchtower publications like to show idealized illustrations of the new system, such as happy people, with lovely little homes in the background, smoke curling skyward. I once asked an elder how homes could be built in the future without requiring an entire industrialized (and polluting) system, much as we have at present. Such as lumber mills, glass manufacturing plants, etc. etc., with the accompanying need for trucks and even trains for transportation. Not to mention sewage treatment and power generating plants and all the rest. His answer was that he had never thought of that before. If the 'answer' is that we will live a more rudimentary, natural, life-style, then the Watchtower is misrepresenting the new system in their art renderings.
- How can I harmonize Psalm 102 Verses 25-29 with Hebrews 1:8? They both say the same thing, (word for word) but Psalm is talking about God the Father and Hebrews is referring to the Son. Can you please post the answer on your website for all to see?

- The Watchtower used the translation of Johannes Gerber as a guide for the New World Translation of the Greek Scriptures. Johannes Gerber was a noted Spirit Medium and translated John 1:1 as 'the word was a god'. The Watchtower used the exact words from this spirit medium in their translation. God Almighty states numerous times that there is no other God beside Him, and also states that He is the only Creator of all things. In John 1:2, it states that all things were created by Jesus. Why does the Watchtower use Johannes' translation in John 1:1? Why doesn't the Watchtower support the Bible on God, Jesus, and creation? Note: Vine's book on interpretating the Greek states that you cannot translate John 1:1 as 'a god' and that if you do translate it as 'the word was a god', then that is entirely misleading. It is obvious that anyone that teaches that Jesus is 'a god' is being very cruel to others and themselves. What say you?
- What is your view on the Lake of Fire? (Revelation 19:20; 20:10; 20:14, 15) Sounds like this is the place of torment where unbelievers go that is commonly referred to as Hell.
- I am sure you have been asked as I am sure that many JW's have been asked the questions when talking about the "immortality of the soul" doctrine How can man kill the body but cannot kill the "soul". (Matthew 10:28) and also Rev 6:9 the "souls" on the altar shout out to God. The born-again Christians will argue that the soul and body are two different things and the body dies but the soul lives on. How would you answer these two points if a Born-Again Christian were to present this to you?
- I just finished a book on World War 2, and everything that was done to the Jews is awful. Many young children were killed in concentration camps. Still, God saw everything and did nothing, just to prove his point that humans need him. Am I supposed to worship somebody that had the power to save some innocent lives but did nothing?
- In Revelation 22:18-19, we are given a very stern admonition against adding to or taking from, the words of this scroll. In my estimation this admonition must be applied to the entire Bible and not just to the book of Revelation…With this admonition in mind I refer you to John 1:4. My kingdom interlinear [1985] quite clearly states: "in him life was, and the life was the light of men;" Please, can you explain to me the reasoning behind the manner in which this verse has been translated as, "What came into existence [4] by means of him was life and the life was the light of men." It is very evident that the single word "in" has become the lengthy phrase, "what came into existence by means of." The King James, and other translations I have checked this in, all simply state the original, "In him was life..." with the first letter 'i' capitalized, which I feel is more reasonable.

- If you had to choose between your children or Jehovah, which would come first: your children being happy and with you, or your religion and losing your children.
- I had asked a question a few weeks back about your policy on blood transfusions. I had asked: While your emphasis on adopting newer treatment options to avoid transfusions is well placed, you are forgetting that there are millions of your brothers in the third world countries who can't afford these treatments. For them a blood transfusion is still the cheapest and most effective form of treatment for many conditions. I haven't seen your organization helping them in these matters (except for counseling). And curiously your stand on transfusion is quite amazing, as you are allowed to receive almost 97 percent of blood in the form of blood products, and yet you maintain that you don't receive transfusions. For me, personally, this is a very important question, as I am a doctor from India and I have relatives who are refusing life saving operations in order to avoid transfusion. Please answer this.
- You state in one of your replies that the Governing Body was based in Jerusalem. What scriptural support can you give that there was a Governing Body and that it was held in Jerusalem?
- Forgive this stupid question but exactly how do we know we are far into the 'end' of this system and have WW III looming over our heads?
- I was raised as a Jehovah Witness. I have since then become inactive as far as attendance and field service. I also have never been baptized although I do believe in the faith and follow its practices. Will I be destroyed since I have not been baptized as a Witness?
- Dear E-watchman, I love your website and respect all of your scriptural advice, but I think that you are living in a "dream world" when you tell ex-JW's to just go back to the hall and all will be fine and dandy.
- I have a friend at work that believes that Revelations has already happened. She quotes Rev 1:1 where it says the things that will happen "shortly" as proof that Revelations has already happened. She also quotes 1 John where he says the Anti-Christ has already come. She feels that religions that teach a future happening for all the events are wrong and that the first century experienced the worst persecution of believers when Christians were slaughtered daily in the Coliseum, they were beheaded by the thousands etc; There are even some ministers teaching this doctrine. What are your thoughts on this?
- The Watchtower explains that the 24 elders in heaven are all of the 144000 in their resurrected state. How can that be when it is said of the 144,000 that the new song they sing is observed by the 24 elders?
- How do we "support" a newly anointed one if he or she is in our congregation? Whilst they will have no doubt about their anointing, what can we say or ask as the "other sheep" to ascertain whether they are genuine or not? I appreciate it would not sound convincing from a non-anointed viewpoint, but I would like some guidelines please.
- How does one co-exist within the congregation, knowing about the current situation at the WTS and the errors in prophecy and good judgment that it has been and continues to be guilty of?
- Ezekiel chapter 9 where there are people "sighing and groaning" about the detestable things being done, has long been interpreted by the WTS as sheep-like ones mourning about the detestable things being done in Christendom, and coming out of there and into the Truth. But since the account mentions the temple, and that the destruction of those not marked must begins in the "sanctuary", could this be Spiritual Israel after Jesus arrives in his kingdom and the angels "remove all those who cause stumbling and doing unrighteousness"? Is the man with the secretary's inkhorn, the remnant of the Faithful Slave after the Watchtower's desolation?
- How can we all live forever and still have children that will live forever and grand children that will live forever...and it goes for billions of years... Where do you fit all those people? And how do you manage to feed everybody, keeping the planet beautiful? What about waste management?
- Revelation 11:5-6 cites miraculous powers performed by the 2 witnesses during the 1260 days they are prophesying in sackcloth. Are the 2 witnesses literally empowered to perform miracles during this time?
- Revelation 11:7 cites that the 2 witnesses are killed after prophesying in sackcloth for the 1260 days. Are the 2 witnesses literally killed? b. If the 2 witness are literally killed then they must be literally resurrected. If this is the case - and when they are resurrected - are they resurrected as was Jesus - in spirit form, then spend a period of time in materialized form (as was Jesus) doing some work that is visible to their enemies that killed them? Or, are they resurrected back as they were as regular humans, then later changed...in a twinkling of an eye to their heavenly reward per 1 Corinthians. 15:52?
- In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus uses the words lamp and light in reference to his followers role as light bearers to the world. In Revelation 8:10-11 the fall of the star called "Wormwood"—a great star burning as a lamp is cited. This star& falls upon a third of the rivers and upon the fountains of waters causing the a third of the waters to be turned into wormwood and the deaths of many of the men. Is Revelation 8:10-11 referring to the fall of the Watchtower?
- May 11
- The question concerns "Michael the Archangel" being Jesus Christ. Born-Agains are always telling me that it is impossible for Jesus to be Michael for 2 reasons. The first being that in Hebrews it tells us to which one of his "angels" did he say "You are my Son". This verse is talking about Jehovah. So, if Jehovah never called one of his angels his Son, does this exclude Jesus from being Michael? Also, the next verse born-agains love to quote is in Jude when it talks about the Devil arguing with Michael concerning the body of Moses and Michael tells the Devil may Jehovah "rebuke" you. Since Jesus rebuked the Devil while on earth, why couldn't he rebuke the Devil as Michael in his glorified state? Does this all show that Jesus is simply not Michael the Archangel?
- So, unless you become a member of Jehovah Witness religion, we are doomed?
- Dear Sir, If Matthew the 24th chapter has not begun its fulfillment in 1914, as you state, then what has been the purpose of all the preaching work on the part of J W's. And just when will Matt 24:14 find its fulfillment?
- You have said that things are the same on the world front as they have always been. Things haven't changed. Using the scripture 1John 4:1, to test the inspired expression; what is your explanation of 2Peter 3:3, 4? Since you state that Christ's' presence hasn't began?
- Will Jehovah resurrect those whom will have been put to death at Armageddon, just as we know he will the peoples of Sodom and Gomorrah? How about those who died in the Flood, do you believe that they too will be resurrected?
- I don't understand this bit from one of your answers in last week's Q&As: "the anointed will not be allowed to enter the new earth of God's promise-apparently as a rebuke for some shortcoming." Surely the heavenly reward is better than the earthly hope. Please explain.
- How does one know if they are among the anointed and where did the number of 144,000 of those chosen come from.
- The book of Revelation does indeed speak of all the anointed alive during the 3.5 years of tribulation being martyred. But in this week's bible reading (John 5-7) Jesus said that those who exercise faith in him, he would resurrect on the "last day": John 6:40 and 54. Since Jesus spoke primarily to the anointed, and the "last day" could be the aforementioned 3.5 year period, then isn't Jesus speaking about martyrdom? Otherwise, why would he speak of resurrecting them? It seems extremely unlikely that all of the surviving anointed remnant would all die naturally during the tribulation.
- Since the elders claim that they cannot reveal a pedophile due to sworn secrecy, isn't it better that the pedophile is encouraged, for his own sakes, to tell parents with children of his weakness? Just as an alcoholic would tell his host/hostess of his weakness so that they do not tempt him to fall back on his sin by unknowingly offering him wine? I realize that the cong can't be expected to announce that someone is/has been a child molester, but it's sickening to lay the entire "burden", for lack of a better word, of his secret on the pedophile alone!
- At Matthew 24:16 those in Judea are told to flee to the mountains, does that mean that faithful servants of Jehovah will separate from the established and accepted arrangement for worshipping Jehovah?
- Could you please explain Matthew 10:23 which says: “You will by no means complete the circuit of the cities of Israel until the Son of man arrives.” I used to think it meant we wouldn't witness to every individual before Armageddon.
- At 1st Thessalonians 5:3 it says: "Whenever it is that they are saying: 'Peace and security!' then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them just as the pang of distress upon a pregnant woman; and they will by no means escape." I have understood the "they", who make the cry of peace is the United Nations, and the "them", who suffer sudden destruction to be Babylon the Great. Is this correct, I have noticed that the Anglo-American power has been using the term "peace & security" a lot lately.
- I am curious why Jehovah anointed 144,000 to rule in heaven with Jesus. His original plan was for mankind to become many and make the earth a paradise, since they wouldn't have died if they remained faithful, no human would ever ascend into heaven. So why change the plan? I know Jesus was sent offer a perfect life for Adam's perfect life that was forfeited, that would put us back onto the original plan after Satan's ousting wouldn't it? I just don't understand why Jehovah anointed men to be above the angels, I'm not questioning his right to do it, just wondering why he would choose to?
- May 4
- Is there a way, short of legal threat, to get Jehovah's Witnesses to stop coming to my door every week, though I've explained that I am happy with my own faith, not seeking, and not interested in being 'read to' or otherwise instructed?
- I have been doing a thorough reading of the AJWRB website. These brothers, like you, are looking for reform within the society. They seem convinced that we are getting close to a time when the society will place blood transfusions as a conscience matter, since 97 to 98% of blood is now acceptable in fractionated form…They point out that science and the Society once thought that blood was consumed in the body just like food, but that science now knows that blood is really a tissue transplant that like a kidney or heart transplant. The body doesn't consume a blood transplant just like it doesn't consume a kidney or heart that is put in your body. They indicate that vaccines were not permitted until the death of one brother on the governing body who felt particular strong against them. Once he passed away, (4 months later?) the Society revealed "new light". Do you think the death of some more of the governing body could result in more changes?
- Dear brother, it seems to me that the 'cut off' date of 1935 for selection of the 144,000 would also suit those of the chieftain class who have been entrusted with greater authority in the WTBTS. While watching the society's video about respect for authority, I wondered if the seizing of the priesthood by Korah (including 250 chieftains) could be a drama played out in the near future. What's your feeling?
- Do you have any insight on the future fulfillment of Malachi 4:5, 6 where it describes the prophet Elijah shortly before the fear-inspiring day of Jehovah?
- Why is Jehovah God's only answer for mankind's problems to slaughter nearly 6 billion people? Seems to me this is not love. There are many good honest hearted people in all religions of the world. Just because they are not JWs they are destined for destruction. In a sense Satan is a winner if Jehovah lets him take nearly everyone off into destruction with him.
- The May 15th Watchtower, Para 6, pg 11, states: "Today, congregations . . . do not put up with false brothers who want to be viewed as apostles.” I thought only in the first century did false apostles arise, since it was still the apostolic period. I've never heard of anyone amongst modern JWs claiming apostle status - have you? Come to think of it, the closest comparison I can come up with is the GB members themselves!
- If the faithful and discreet slave is supposed to feed "his people" at the proper time, what happens to "his people" when the faithful and discreet slave has been feeding "his people" falsely? I am very confused about what has been happening at the WT headquarters and the "double standard" they seem to me to be following. What can I believe?
- I have found it difficult to continue going out in service. The reason is, I'm lost as to how to answer people at the door, should they ask me about 1914 1919 and so on. What would happen for instance if that subject was discussed and I explain my actual belief on the subject? Especially if I'm working with another brother or sister, they would more than likely report me to the congregation elders and I might find myself charged with apostasy and expelled. On the other hand, if I act as though I am in harmony with the 1914-1919 doctrine, then, I could be held accountable to Jehovah for being an unfaithful slave especially since I too am an anointed Christian. The only thing I could come up with in harmony with Jesus advice on being cautious is to continue to preach the truth, as I understand it, in harmony with God's word, but informally rather than from door to door. However this brings about another problem and that is the congregation would notice that I don't go from door to door and you know what other sort of problems come with that. Any advice?
- Why does the June 1, 2003 Watchtower not mention the UN as a part of Gog and Magog, who will attack Jehovah's Witnesses, and why are they told not to speculate?
- Dear brother, since the Governing Body is now separated from the legal entity of the WBTS, who are now responsible for the appointment of elders? When an appointment is received by a congregation it is stamped by the WBTS. Does this suggest that a legal entity is responsible for spiritual appointments or has some other arrangement been put in place?
- April 27
- How do I overcome my fear regarding the great tribulation? What can I really do to survive?
- What happens to people like Hitler, Osama bin Ladin, etc. Since you say there is no hell?
- You made the following statement, "the Watchtower has trickily twisted the prophecies to mislead Jehovah's Witnesses..." Now, although I have found some of the information on your site interesting and even enlightening, I have a problem with your statement. It is one thing to say the Watchtower has misled people because of their limited knowledge or incomplete understanding of the scriptures, which The Watchtower organization has openly admitted to when a change occurs on a point of view or prophetic understanding. It is another thing to say that The Watchtower has misled people with pre-determined malicious intent, which is what I understand to be your belief based on your response. I could be wrong and I would hate to wrongly come to my conclusion, but could you please clarify what you meant when you used the phrase I mentioned above?
- How is evolution not real?
- Dear brother, since the Governing Body is now separated from the legal entity of the WBTS, who are now responsible for the appointment of elders? When an appointment is received by a congregation it is stamped by the WBTS. Does this suggest that a legal entity is responsible for spiritual appointments or has some other arrangement been put in place?

- My wife wants to know why the NWT is the only version of the Bible which uses the expression "[true] knowledge" at Daniel 12:4, when all other Bibles make no such inclusion of "true."
- Your idea that we could be very close to the end of this system based on recent developments with the UN and the Anglo-American world power will lead to disappointment, for the simple reason that Jesus said time and time again that it will come at a time when it is least expected, like a thief in the night, and like a trap. Jesus words in this regard were addressed to Christians, not sleeping worldly persons with no interest in the Bible.
- If Jesus said to "Keep doing this" (the Memorial) until he arrives (1 Corinthians 11:26), and the Watchtower teaches that Christ returned invisibly in 1914, why do Witnesses still observe the Memorial?
- The Watchtower admits that it went through a disciplinary period as shown in the recent study of the Isaiah II book...
When do you say this will take place and why?
- In the 13th book of Revelation we read of a seven headed beast that suffers a death stroke and is revived. In the 4th book of Daniel we read of a great tree that is chopped down, banded and revived. Are these two prophecies parallels? Do they both refer to the Anglo-American Dyad? Will seven times pass over the Anglo-American Dyad before they are revived? Is there significance in the two different metals used to band the great tree?
- I would like to know your version of Genesis. With only Adam and Eve, how is it possible to have blacks, whites, Asians, natives, Arabs, Indians? We know 'God' created the humans using DNA and it is now understood that white/white reproduction will never give a black baby, and white/Arab reproduction will never produce an Asian baby.
- I am wondering about the anointed that have turned apostate in the past: First, Jehovah would replace them with another so as to keep the number at 144,000, correct? Secondly, a sister in my congregation believes that if that happens, Jehovah would only use someone who has been in the truth for a long time and has had many trials. I am curious as to what you think about this.
- When do you think the war in heaven took place, as stated at Revelation chapter 12:7?
- March 29
- First of all, you are not encouraging anyone, only discouraging and spreading lies. I am a pioneer and well aware of what the Bible says and how Jehovah uses his organization... If you have been attending the meetings with anything but your ears and eyes closed, you would know that the Society is the most humble, Bible-following, sincere worshipper on the face of the earth. That through a wonderful, humble, study and education of the Bible, we as sincere Christians, are constantly encouraged and made aware of the urgency of the times. ..You have taken on great airs, judging Jehovah's organization...I hope that your absolute, unadulterated apostasy has not gone beyond Jehovah's forgiveness—that there is still time left for you to repent. By speaking out against the Bible truths as clearly established by the scriptures and Jehovah's organization, you work against Jehovah.
- According to the Watchtower, only those who are of the anointed are commanded to partake of the emblems during the observation of the Memorial. However, there are a number of problems with that view. First, only a few of Jesus' disciples were with him during the institution of the Memorial. And in Luke's account, Judas was present (Luke 22:19-21), a fact that may have been left out of the other synoptic gospels simply because of the audience each Gospel writer was writing to. If Jesus introduced the Memorial with his disciples, and told them to keep doing this, why did he not make sure that all of his disciples were present since this was, according to the Watchtower, the instituting of the covenant for a kingdom? Based on the account itself, there is no reason to believe that anyone outside the 12 who were there was brought into the covenant with Jesus, for a kingdom.
- Luke's account shows that the covenant for a kingdom was made after the partaking of the emblems. (Luke 22:29), and is thus a separate covenant from the one fulfilled by the Memorial's emblems--which denotes the Passover under Mosaic Law. This poses two additional problems. First, a covenant is signed by blood being spilled. Since the covenant of the Memorial itself is signed by the bread (Jesus' body), and the blood (Jesus' blood), we see the fulfillment of the Mosaic Law's Passover covenant. Second, the covenant for "a kingdom" is not anywhere "signed" symbolically like the former covenant is. This lends additional weight to the Watchtower's being wrong in disallowing all of Jehovah's Witnesses from partaking of the emblems as they would have participated in the Passover, had Mosaic Law been in effect down to this day. (ALL of Israel, not just a priestly class, was to place the blood on their doorways, true?) Is it not true that the covenant that Jesus instituted after the Memorial, the covenant for "a kingdom," is the one that applies specifically to the "anointed"?
- Why does the Watchtower insist that the two covenants (the Passover, and Christ's Memorial as well as Jesus' personal covenant "for a kingdom") are one and the same covenant, even though the actual Bible account does not read that way? Is not the Watchtower making itself guilty of Matthew 23:13 by saying that all of Jehovah's people (parallel to Israelites coming out of Egypt) may not partake, even though Jesus said we must "Keep doing this"? (Also Matthew 28:20)
- I was witnessing to a fellow co-worker of mine, who is a "born-again," and we were talking about who the Creator is? I told him JW's believe that Jehovah is the Creator but Jesus helped him create all "other" creation after Jesus was created first. Then my co-worker showed me a scripture that totally stumped me. I believe it was at Isaiah 44:24, where Jehovah is saying, I was "alone" when the earth was created and I did it by "myself" who was with me? I was caught off guard on this one I just could not answer it. Does this prove that Jesus could not have been there helping Jehovah create the world as Trinitarians argue? Please help!
- Is it really correct to take one proverb (Proverbs 4:18 Light Brighter) and create an entire doctrine from it? Certainly the proverb is inspired, but was it meant to apply to "the faithful and discreet slave" as it is applied today? Were the Faithful and Discreet slave appointed by Jesus because they were going to eventually get it right? Could it not be seen as a way to scripturally cover mistakes that they make and prevent questioning?
- Concerning the judgment of Jehovah's people in the time period of 1916 to 1919, how could it be that with their beliefs and practices at that time they could have been approved? For instance they believed, at that time, that Jesus was ruling in heaven since 1874. They celebrated many holidays that are now disfellowshipping offenses. They predicted in the 7th Study of the Scriptures book (The Finished Mystery) that churches and governments would be destroyed in 1918 and had predicted that the battle of Armageddon would be over by 1914. In a nutshell how could they be "approved" by Jesus to be "appointed over all his belongings" and the very same beliefs today would make you unfit to be in the congregation? Wouldn't they have been unapproved by Jesus then like other religions that didn't teach or practice truth?
- If, as you have alluded, the judging didn't take place from 1916 to 1919 and that the "last days" didn't start in 1914, how can we identify ourselves as God's people? What I mean is this. Pretend it is 1702 and you and I are desperately looking for God's people and the Faithful Slave? No matter how hard we looked we couldn't find them as they didn't exist then. They apparently wouldn't exist until the "last days", which hadn't started yet. We could look around and find who was the "closest" at the time, but we would have been wrong. If we have gotten so many of the dates wrong and applied so many important biblical events and prophesies to those dates (like the beginning of the "last days") could it be we aren't really in the "last days" yet? That the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" are yet to be appointed by Jesus? That while trying hard Jehovah's Witnesses aren't God's people because it's not the "last days" yet and that would explain why we have made so many mistakes? Can it be both ways? Appointed by Jesus and wrong on so many dates / events / prophesies?
- Many of the sick persons Jesus healed appear to have been demon-possessed. Does this indicate that demon possession is responsible for many of the sicknesses experienced by mankind? Also, please explain the nature of Mark 9:29. Does this indicate some demons are more powerful than others?
- My question is regarding the 1914 doctrine that JW's have clung to for almost 80 years. If as you say this doctrine of 1914 is wrong, what is going to happen when JW's see that they can no longer cling onto this belief? Is there going to be a mass exodus of disgruntled JW's leaving the Watchtower Society in disgust similar to the Worldwide Church of God a few years ago when that church had a massive makeover in doctrine? Even the International Church of Christ is experiencing defections from disgruntled members. So how is the Watchtower going to survive this horrible blow? Would this give apostates more ammunition and prove that they were right for leaving?
- Doesn't 2 Peter 3 state that the earth is stored for fire and will be burned up? If this is true why do JW's insist on teaching an earthly paradise that will last forever? Also wasn't God going to destroy the earth with fire before, but I believe Abraham talked him out of it by saying he could find 10 good people on earth? I might be confused either it was Abraham or Moses who actually bargained with Jehovah not to destroy the earth. And by the way man is storing nuclear weapons and chemical warfare the earth might not be a safe place to live in the 10 years. What are your thoughts on this subject?
- My question is concerning "born-again" Christians. Why do they call others false prophets and cults when they act like mind-controlled zombies? I don't mean to sound prejudice; but many born-agains act like they have no say-so; only what their pastor tells them. My friend goes to a church, where the church bought the pastor a brand new Rolls Royce for his birthday and one for his wife. But he does not see this as mind-control, but is quick to say JW's are brainwashed and are a cult. Also when you point out that born-agains have predicted the end of the world on many occasions especially in 1988 and 1989 and 2000 when born-agains were looking for the rapture they still don't see this as the same thing JW's did in 1975. It is like the pot calling the kettle black. Do you feel born-again Christians live in denial?
- A lot of the things I have read here do sound reasonable. Your tone of voice is respectful, which after all is due our anointed brothers. A number of changes by the Governing Body would appear to be in order. My concern is that by considering these things, are we falling into the same trap as Uzzah who "meant well" when he reached out to try and prevent the fall of the Ark. Or in the case of David when he would not kill Saul, out of respect for the position that Saul occupied, even though clearly Saul was way off base when it came to true worship, he was still Jehovah's anointed. Even when Saul was dead and a person came to David boasting that he had put the wounded king to death, David had the man executed for claiming to have killed Jehovah's anointed one. Have these thoughts entered you mind? Is it true that good motives are not enough?
- March 23
- Do you believe that by acting without the approval of the United Nations, Bush and Blair have fulfilled bible prophecy, starting the rise of the 8th king?
- Does the bible give any hint as to how long it may take for the 8th king to start persecuting Jehovah's people after it takes power?
- In your opening article, "About e-Watchman," you state: "The Watchtower's teaching relegates Christ's presence and judgment of his household to the 1914-1919 period. Thus, vast portions of Jehovah's judgments and judicial decisions have been nullified by assigning their application to the past, when instead they undoubtedly await fulfillment in the near future." However, the 1995 Watchtower page 21, paragraph 19, clearly states that "Although Jesus is now King of the Kingdom, his further activity mentioned at Matthew 19:28 will include sitting on a throne to judge during the Millennium. At that time he will judge all mankind, the righteous and the unrighteous." Would you care to clarify?
- Why can you not participate in elections of the country you live in? Do you not care about your leaders, or do you feel they do not affect you? Do you celebrate anything in life?
- As you know many of the teachings today are 180 degrees different than what was taught years ago. If the light is getting brighter every day, is it possible that in ten years I might discover everything I presently believe is pagan, since the light ten years from now will be so much brighter light? Now what if I should die tomorrow? Does this mean I will die being a pagan, and will be completely annihilated at death, and not be resurrected to live on the new earth?
- My question is in your experience do ex-JW's that turn apostate ever come to their senses and come back to the truth? Or are they just doomed for destruction? What do you think about this?
- The latest WT magazine states that Jehovah can look into the future if he chooses to. That being the case, is this not predestination and that no matter what you do now it makes no difference as everything has been mapped out? Surely the future has not happened yet, and that even Jehovah cannot see that, because if he can what hope is there for anyone as their ultimate end has been already decided. Some JW's say 'ah but you can choose to do this or that', but this is specious reasoning as whatever choice you made it was one you would have made anyway, whether for good or bad. What say you?
- Will Jehovah destroy me at Armageddon if I still have homosexual feelings and am living a gay life? I really love Jehovah and Jesus and Jehovah's Witnesses, but just can't give up my gay lifestyle.
- Even though Isa.1:18 says, "Though sins of you people be as scarlet, they will be made white just like snow," could a person sin to the point that Jehovah will no longer want that person as his servant, even though they are cut to the heart and disgusted with themselves?
- March 16
- You say that the King of the North will flood over the lands and subjugate his rival. But, if the UN is the King of the North at this point, and US/Britain is the beast out of the earth, which gives life to the UN so that it takes on a life of it's own, and the kings of the earth give there power to the wild beast (UN - Eighth King), Then who is the rival that the King of the North at this point subjugates?
- Does it not seem as though the King of the North right now is the U.S., going forth in a great rage after 9/11? (Reports from the northern and eastern lands) Does not the U.S. rule over all the desirable things of Egypt and the hidden treasures (oil) to protect it from dictators/terrorists? Have they come with horsemen, chariots and many ships right now!? You even alluded to the fact that the King of the North could be the U.S.
- My question to you E-watchman is—do you think that Jehovah's Witnesses have given false prophecies? After 1914, 1915, 1925 and1975, how can you say they are not false prophets? And if you do believe they are false prophets, then why do you keep insisting they are “the Truth"? Would Jehovah God and Jesus Christ really use false prophets to carry on their messages? I like to see you get out of this one. Every Jehovah's Witness that I ask never come back to my house with an answer, even though they promise me they will do so.
- The New World Translation states at John 1:1 that "the Word was a god". Since the Bible says that there is only one true God, isn't the NWT in essence saying that "the Word" is a false god. Can you justify that?
- March 9
- Are you suggesting that we as Jehovah's Witnesses should stop reading the Watchtower because it is apostate literature? I used to view all literature from the Society as being "inspired" by Jehovah, for lack of a better word. Are you suggesting that Jehovah does not want us reading this literature? Is Jehovah supporting the Watchtower or not?
- I was just wondering how you explain certain passages in the Bible. Now you believe that Jesus' Resurrection was only in spirit, correct? How then do you explain when Jesus is talking to Thomas in the upper room and he clearly states to Thomas, who was expressing doubt about the resurrection, to touch His hands and put his hand in His side? Then he stated, quite interestingly, that a spirit does not have flesh and bones. Very clearly, this is talking about a bodily resurrection and not a spirit only. Now you may want to say that he merely manifested himself in another body. However you cannot do this for He was recognized by all of the disciples and the nail prints and the spear wound in His side were there. Would this not then credit the bodily resurrection of Christ?
- When a person is of the anointed class, does he or she know before they are baptized, or does Jehovah reveal it only after baptism?
- Why is Jehovah used and not Adonai or Elohim? Don't most followers believe that Jehovah is the "rightful name of God?"
- Is Jehovah all knowing, in the sense of looking into the future and knowing the choices that all individuals will make during the course of their lives, prior to them actually making those choices? If so, does He exercise that knowledge? And if He does exercise that knowledge does He act on it prior to choices being made? And if so would this not remove the right of an individual to exercise free will? Are there scriptures that shed light on this?
- What is the tribulation? When it comes what happens?
- Dear E-watchman I have a very confusing question concerning the doctrine of the "rapture" My cousin who is a Born-Again minister is always telling me that JW's are wrong about not believing in a literal rapture. My question is: What do Born-agains believe the rapture is? Do they really believe that one day the Christian church of believers will float up into the sky and go to heaven? I have always been confused about the "rapture". And also the 144,000 could not the number been filled in the first century. Millions of Christians were slaughtered in the Coliseum, eating by lions, burned alive so I think the 144,000 was already filled up in the 1st century what is your views on this?
- I stumbled across this site, where I learned about the scandals in the Watchtower Society, particularly the NGO membership. Now I am devastated, but I am afraid to ask anyone about this, for obvious reasons. Do JW's know about this? What would happen if I asked my elders about this or wrote to the society wanting an explanation? I don’t doubt that this is the truth, but now I am just so confused about my feelings for the organization. Why have I never heard about this NGO thing before? If this is Jehovah's organization, why would he allow that to happen? Why haven’t the leaders of the Watchtower been punished? I just don’t understand. Where is the justice? Haven't sincere JW's questioned them? Do they even know? I really want to confront my elders and write to the society but I am afraid of what will happen. Do you have any advice?
- I have been a Witness for 42 years, but the stand now taken by the [Watchtower] Society regarding use of certain blood fractions confuses me. Does the Society now approve of the collection of blood from donors so we can use the bits our conscience permits? How does the society get around the fact that Jehovah commanded the blood should be poured out onto the ground in the form it came out of the animal, no way was it to be stored in a vessel to be later poured onto the ground. I really think the new reasoning is wrong, how do I cope with this?
- Matthew 24:31 says "And he will send forth his angels with a great TRUMPET sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from one extremity of the heavens to the other". 1 Cor. 15:52 says "...in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, during the last TRUMPET. For the TRUMPET will sound, and the dead will be raised up incorruptible, and we shall be changed". These verses, which both refer to the Lord returning with the accompanying sound of a trumpet, seem to link the same event, i.e., the heavenly resurrection of the anointed. As the above-quoted scripture in Matt 24 is obviously yet to be fulfilled, then surely the resurrection of those dead ones of the heavenly calling has not yet happened, as is taught by the Society, and is yet to occur. Do you agree?
- March 2
- If all the things you're saying are true, there are some major problems concerning the timetable. The gathering of the great crowd was one of the most important things that Jesus foretold. So, if the faithful slave is really appointed to gather the anointed ones and secondly the great crowd, that has to indicate that we are talking about a certain time span, because it takes time to gather those groups, and certain prophecies like, Revelation 12:1-6, imply a longer period of time.
- If we understand you correctly you seem to imply that all these prophecies are still ahead of us, and that presents us with some big problems concerning the responsibility of the slave to "dispense food at the proper time" and for the gathering of the great crowd. Matthew 24, Marc 13 and Luke 21 seem to indicate that the parousia of Christ covers a long time span in order to fulfill all the foretold signs—because all the signs are to be fulfilled during the parousia, right? So, where does that leave us in the stream of time, concerning the gathering of the great crowd and our ministry? And wouldn't the providing with "food at the proper time" also occur during Christ's parousia? Can you please give us your view on these 'problems'?
- The second problem we would like to present you, relates to obedience and our position towards the faithful slave at the present time. In light of the fact that during Christ's presence there would also be an "evil slave" who would say: "My master is delaying" and start to beat his fellow slaves. (Matthew 24:49) Aren't you afraid that you fit this scripture, by beating your fellow slaves by saying what you believe concerning Christ's parousia (beginning in 1914) is not correct? Are you not concerned about being disfellowshipped?
- February 23
- The WT claims Jesus was resurrected as a spirit. This is in direct contradiction to 1 John 4:2: "By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit which confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God." Can you elaborate on this?
- This generation, that sees these things take place, (1914) will not pass away. Is this the generation that was born in 1914 or were alive and old enough to witness these things?
- In Genesis 6:4, the Bible verse reads: "The Nephilim proved to be in the Earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of the [true] God continued to have relations with the daughters of men and they bore sons to them, they were the mighty ones who were of old, the men of fame." My question is if the Nephilim were destroyed by the flood why does the verse say they were in the Earth after Noah's time? Also, chapter 6, verse 1, talks about the angels taking human wives and verse 4 says they continued to have human wives. Did the angels have relations with human women more than once? Is this why there were giants in King Saul's time?
- What are the basic beliefs and practices of the Jehovah Witness faith?
- In your question & answer section you made a comment regarding the expression "the last days". In referring to the passage at Acts 2:17 you stated: "So, according to the apostle Peter, the pouring out of God's spirit marked the beginning of the last days for the Jewish system." I read Acts and in the account of Pentecost and I didn't see that Peter said that the pouring out of God's spirit marked the beginning of "the last days of the Jewish system". I saw that he only used the expression "the last days." How can you demonstrate scripturally show that Peter was in fact referring to the last days of the Jewish System, as opposed to simply the "last days?"
- I have read many of these questions, and some appear to be from Jehovah Witnesses themselves having doubts about a belief either on blood transfusions, disfellowshipping, etc. I, too, question some beliefs. Why have disfellowshipping? When someone does something wrong, they should be helped, encouraged to do right, NOT have everyone turn their backs on them and kick them out. Getting disfellowshipped just makes you lonely and start not believing, I know many JWs that have gone through this and many have stopped going to the meetings entirely. So why not extend your arms to a wrong doer and HELP them instead of closing the door?
- In John 2:19 through 21, Jesus speaks of His body being raised from the dead. He doesn't say that His body disappeared, or was turned into gas; He said that his body would be raised from the dead after three days. In verse 22, the disciples remembered Jesus saying this and believed the word that Jesus said. The disciples witnessed specifically to this very fact throughout the book of Acts, and Paul says (1st Cor. 15) that if you don't believe this then your faith is worthless, you are still in your sins, and you are false witnesses. Why don't Jehovah Witnesses believe like the Jesus wants you to believe?
- What are Jehovah's Witnesses views on abortion and why is it that you believe that is the right view? Please could you include Bible verses?

- Were all the faithful Christians of the first century of the anointed regardless of age or gender? Please answer scripturally.
- Is there pressure from fellow witnesses or the society to reveal your identity?
- If blood is sacred to God, then why did he create animals that eat blood?
- If you believe we are not in the last days, then when do they begin?
- In Exodus chapter 4:24 why would Jehovah want to kill Moses?
- I am a witness who is currently studying an Open University biology course at home in my spare time, that at present is going into a fair amount of detail about the origins of life, genetic change, evolution, natural selection and so forth (which I genuinely to find interesting and even logical at times). The elders in my congregation do not know about this, and I'm worried that if they find out then I could be disfellowshipped. Do you think the elders would have a case against me if they find out? Should I be truthful with them, carry on in secret (I enjoy it), or give up on the course?
- My question though, is regarding the event that happened in 1980 at World Headquarters in regard to 1914. Raymond Franz, then a member of the governing body, had received a book written by a brother in Sweden proving beyond the shadow of a doubt through secular sources that Jerusalem was not destroyed in 607 B.C.E., but rather in 586 B.C.E. What frustrates me is that in my own personal research, I have never once, outside of the Society's publications, encountered a source that suggests any other date than the agreed upon 586 B.C.E. date. I have written to the Society (using an anonymous address and alias) on this issue, asking for definite proof of their claim that this event took place in 607 B.C.E. Instead of receiving an answer to my question, all that happened was they suggested I trust them, and at the same time they were trying to find out who I was, and what congregation I was in. I sensed that they were more interested in trying me than in helping me. Why are they so stubborn on this issue? Why do they continue to ignore the facts, or treat the average reader like they are violating some Biblical principle if they were to do independent research? According to Franz, in doing research for the "Aid to Bible Understanding Book", he did not find any secular evidence to support the Society's theory, and when he presented his evidence to the Governing Body, it didn't seem to phase them one bit. What's going on here?

- The question is: e-watchman admonishes others not to be causing divisions and seems to think it is best not to speak of things that one is doubting about, yet how is his/her writing not causing division? It would be interesting to have him/her openly state why they have the authority to expose the WTS, etc and yet others do not. So, e-watchman, what is your reply?
- If the watchtower claims that the media is controlled by Satan, and that the media is spreading lies about the watchtower, why doesn't the watchtower "name and shame" these sources? Also, why not take these sources (such as "panorama", "5th estate" etc) to court, if the watchtower feels that there are lies being told, even if not for the money then at least to clear it's name in public.
- Why did god create dinosaurs and in laymen terms please explain this.
- Why do Jehovah witnesses believe in creation but not evolution?
- My question is this, why should I, or anyone for that matter, put "faith" in what you have written? Who are you, and, how, why, have you arrived at this point of divergence or enlightenment that would qualify you to make such a judgment/prophesy concerning the Organization in question?

- It appears in every way that the Great Crowd of Rev 7 is indeed in heaven with the angels, Elders and 4 living creature. How do we really prove that the Great Crowd of Rev 7 is "before the throne" in the sense of having God's approval and not literally in heaven as it would appear?
- Opposers of Jehovah's Witnesses have often claimed to be able to spot "demonic" images within the illustrations of publications put out by the WT society. Some of these claims are truly dubious at best, others if you squint just right and the light is at the proper angle, you just might see something that looks somewhat weird. I usually just laugh off these suggestions, but your comments about there being saboteurs, as it were, within the Watchtower make me wonder if perhaps some images are put into illustrations intentionally by such ones for the express purpose of misleading some and causing the very stir that they have among the apostate community.
- If the 12 tribes of Israel in Revelation are not fleshly Israel, but spiritual Israel, then not all spiritual Israelites are to rule as kings and priest, as joint heirs with Christ [only 12000 from each spiritual tribe]. As fleshly Israel had priesthood [the tribe of Levi chosen to represent the firstborn saved when the angel passed over the Israelite households in Egypt] so Spiritual Israel has priesthood.
- How can you make such a statement as: English Freemasonry's plot to 'bring down the U.S.'? My question, or request, is that you support that statement.

- Was Jephthah's daughter killed and sacrificed by her father as a burnt offering or what was the vow meant to attain?
- It is true that Jehovah's witnesses believe that the debt of all sin is death, however they do not believe in eternal torment in Hades. Why is this the belief, even though when the bible tells the story of the Rich man and Lazarus it notes that "...the rich man died and was buried? 23 And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, he existing in torments..." Luke 16: 22,23. Is this not proof that the wicked are eternally tormented after death?
- IF the Bible's message is clear, and furnishes us completely, why do we need study aids?
- Dear Watchman you said: "As for the fulfillment of Matthew 24:14, Jehovah's Witnesses have certainly made great strides in publishing the kingdom message throughout the earth. The hundreds of different languages that our message has been translated into is very impressive indeed. But, according to prophecy, our work only begins once the tribulation commences." Yet according to prophecy the good news of the kingdom will be preached before the end comes. The scripture does not hint around to the good news being preached once the tribulation commences. There is a bit of contradiction between your line of reasoning and what the scriptures say.
- The first question is: "Do you believe that 144,000 is a literal number, considering the fact that most of Revelation is symbolic?" The second is: "what is your understanding of Genesis 3:15?"
- I was studying to become a Jehovah's Witness, but I left feeling discouraged. I felt no one could give me a straight answer to my questions. I was friends with two boys, one who is DF and the other was studying but wasn't following the "rules," I guess you could say. I fell in love with the one who is still studying and that is the reason I started studying in the first place. What I want to know is why were we told that we weren't allowed to date until after we were both baptized? You can't help whom you love. I am still in love with this guy but our chance at happiness was ruined because of this organization. No one could ever show me a scripture that says we were doing something that was wrong in Jehovah's eyes. I believe it was more of the elder's personal beliefs rather than how Jehovah views it. Help, I need answers!
- Are there any links between freemasons and Jehovah Witnesses?
- What evidence can you point to demonstrating that there are in fact "anointed ones" among the Organization of JW's? How can I, or anyone else, know if they are genuinely anointed in the special way that they claim to be?
- How long must JW's wait until we say, "enough is enough"? How many more failed prophecies must we endure before we say JW's are a false religion and false prophets have waited for many, many years and each time I think about coming back another Watchtower scandal or "date" change occurs.
- You were so helpful to me on John 2:19-22 but the born-again Christian man that I have been talking to threw me with 3 more passages Acts 17:31, 1Corin 15:47, 1Tim 2:5. All of these verses speak of Jesus Christ as a "man" after his resurrection. I tried to explain that these verses simply reflect Christ's life as a man but the born-again Christian man pointed out that why would the bible writers not have used the word "spirit" if JW's are correct and Jesus was raised in the spirit but he pointed out in all verses they used the word "man" and all three verses are after Jesus was raised from the dead. Can you please help me?
- Does the neutrality of Jehovah Witness's prevent any involvement in the supporting of various movements that are geared towards the changing of government actions? Specifically the anti-war movements.
- If the bible supposedly gives the true history of the world since the beginning, why doesn't it mention Dinosaurs? What is the society's view of the dinosaurs? Does the GB take the view that fossils are there to test our faith, or do they have another explanation? Also do you know what the society's view of UFO's / extra terrestrial life?
- My question is if you don't believe in what you watch or read and it don't bother your conscience, is it okay to read and watch what you want to as long as it don't bother you?
- Is it just logical for a person to know the truth without any religious education of any kind?

- We have observed the reformation movement in the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society is a worldwide phenomenon, from grassroots congregational insider efforts, to dedicated "moles" working for the sake of righteousness within the highest pinnacles of the organization. Will reformation triumph over the next century to Jehovah's glory? Why, or why not? Please validate your answer with supporting Scriptures and commentary.
- My question is, why we get so hung up on chronology, when very little of the Christian scriptures deal with chronology at all? The early Christians did not spend a lot of time on chronology. Even in secular circles, chronology is not an exact science, and open to revision. Should we not be cautious and judicious in our use of all chronology?
- So you think that Luke 21:24 doesn't refer to the year 1914? But how about the 7 times of Daniel then? And what do you think the term "at the time appointed" means in Daniel 11:29? And isn't it pretty obvious that Matthew 24:14 has been fulfilled in the 20th century? But what about Psalm 110:2 where it says that Jesus would "go subduing in the midst of his enemies"?
- Since all previous "prophetic" interpretations of when the battle of Armageddon would be fought have been "in error," what date has it been "rescheduled" for?
- Is it absolutely necessary to confess one's sins to the elders to have spiritual healing? What is the situation with someone who has, for example, been disfellowshipped, been reinstated, but has committed gross sins again. Fear of being ostracized again from friends and loved ones may prevent such a one from confessing to the elders. If they have privately worked hard to restore things with Jehovah, begged for his forgiveness, and personally repented again, do they really need to go to the elders and suffer the humiliation and terrible emotional anxiety of being disfellowshipped again? In view of the fact that it is questionable whether the elder arrangement and indeed the organization as a whole presently have Jehovah's blessing, can one 'bypass' the elders judicially and still have true forgiveness from Jehovah?
- My question is about Revelation 20:5, where it says: "(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.)..." We learn that the resurrection will be during the 1000 years, but the text clearly states otherwise. What are your thoughts about that?
- What justification was there to end the world with the flood. Is this not an admission of failure and why start again with just the 8 survivors…?
- Why does the Revelation say that at its birth the kingdom [male child] is caught away to God's presence for it's protection when it's King has already been given all the necessary power and authority in heaven and on earth? And in what way is God's woman in need of protection in a place of safety thus resulting in the Dragon going off to wage war on the remaining ones of her Seed?
- Why would Jesus not name Jehovah God by his name? The Bible always shows Jesus called him "Father."

- If the locusts in Jole's prophecy are to attack Jehovah's people [Christ's brothers] how is it evident that the locusts in Revelation 9 are Jehovah's people [Christ's brothers]?
- In what way can it be said that Jesus FELL from heaven?
- Is it true that earlier publications of Jehovah's Witnesses identified the star/angel as Satan?
- What is the purpose of life?
- If Jesus is only mediator of the 144,000, the rest of mankind especially the so-called earthly class would be praying through whom, the watchtower organization?
- While Christians are commanded to preach and make disciples, there is no direct command recorded in the scriptures to go from door to door. Why is this a requirement for Witnesses when the scriptures say to not go beyond what is written?
- Just when did the Christian congregation cease to be the true Christian congregation? When did the true Christians see the need to follow the scriptural advice to "get out from among them" and where did they go to for spiritual association?
- I cannot understand how the collective Governing Body who are supposed to be Jehovah's channel have made such fundamental errors and why have they not reasoned out the arguments such as presented on this site. What is the reason for this?
- Who founded the watchtower and when did it begin?
- I must ask, would not my views, like yours on certain subjects, be considered apostasy?
- If I were to be disfellowshipped for having these views, how would my family and myself be able to serve Jehovah from outside his protected organization?
- If Jesus did not come invisibly in 1914, and then he didn't appoint the "faithful and discreet slave over all his belongings and to dispense food at the proper time, etc., then: (1) By what authority do Jehovah's Witnesses claim to be Jehovah's organization? (2) What then distinguishes them from Christendom? (3) If it is Jehovah's organization, is it the "only" channel through which Jehovah and Jesus communicate to us? (4) Are all the anointed on earth today baptized Jehovah's Witnesses?

- Do you speak to your family and close friends in the congregation about your differing views from the Watchtower teachings?
- If we do not speak out how will they ever know the "Truth"?
- If speaking the Truth could be a stumbling block to those "in the truth" then not speaking the truth could be an even greater stumbling block. Why speak the truth at all?
- You say that because most of Jehovah's Witnesses do not have issues with what they believe and they trust the Watchtower to be truthful, we should not tell them about the errors. How does that mesh with scripture?
- In your essay "We have concluded a covenant with death" you seem to suggest that the Watchtower and those who cling to it are to be destroyed by Jehovah and that Jehovah will then refine a remnant. Do you mean to suggest that the majority of Jehovah's Witnesses will lose their lives because of their loyalty to those who control the Watchtower Society?
- Is it possible that the apostate elements, which were able to gain control of the congregations by the end of the first century, are as active today?
- What do you think of Greg Staffor's new book?
- In the two study books on Isaiah, the slave class interpret the prophecies that originally applied to God's covenant people, Israel, not only to Spiritual Israel but also to Christendom. Should not all the prophecies apply to only those who Jehovah considers to be his covenant people?
- Can Jehovah's Witnesses expect to receive the judgments mentioned in Isaiah that the slave class attribute to Christendom?
- Do you think there is an unbalanced emphasis and almost idolatrous importance bestowed on The Watchtower & Awake?
- What are your credentials for dispensing your, admittedly, reasonable and thought provoking answers and essays?
- How long have you been studying and what makes you feel that you have the right answers that you assert so boldly?
- Do you consider yourself to be one of the Anointed?
- Why was Jesus called the Ruler of the Kings of the earth in Revelation chapter 1 if he was as you suggest only the King of those who accepted him as Ruler of the Christian Congregation?
- If the "slave" that turns out to be "wicked" has the controlling influence in the organization, will we all recieve the same judgment, i.e. death, if we continue to follow the counsel given to us by that slave?
