Would you have to be baptised before God started to give his holy-spirit to you? Galatians 4:9 say "..now that God knows you", I take that means after baptism.

I don't think meetings are boring. Not if you get involved / take part. Most talks are very good...

Robert, I had to laugh when you mentioned the test of our faith with in the congregation. Yes, that is a tough test. This is especially true as a test of love for the brothers and sisters, putting up with their weaknesses. It’s similar to a marriage. When the mate does some human thing that grates us. In order to keep the marriage solvent, we have to learn to put up with those things. Just as they must learn to put up with our weaknesses.

As far as the organization goes, I always liken it to the time of Jesus. It was still Jehovah’s arrangement, yet it was corrupted by the sects of Pharisees and Sadducees, along with the Sanhedrin. We should do as Jesus instructed us. (Mt. 16:12; 23:3) The woes that Jesus proclaimed against the scribes and Pharisees could also apply. (Mt. 23)

I continuously remind those who worship Jehovah should follow our leader, Jesus Christ. We are not worshipping an organization or group. They cannot save us.
