A former elder for Jehovah's Witnesses has been arrested in Phoenix for sex crimes against a 14-year old boy some 30 years ago.The Watchtower Society insists that the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses is a spiritual paradise, but with each passing revelation of such evils as this the Watchtower's claim rings more and more shrill and hollow.

This stuff gets pretty ugly, but the evidence just keeps piling up that the Watchtower's "spiritual paradise" is more like what Bill Bowen of SilentLambs called it: A pedophile's paradise.
Because of the Watchtower's long-standing (only-recently revised) wicked policy of keeping these criminal matters hushed up, the pedophile, who actually confessed to the elders years ago, is not as reprehensible as the Society lawyers who have from behind the scenes advised elders to keep the criminals secreted. So, more correctly, the abuse is not the shame of Jehovah's Witnesses. But the way such matters have been handled, or more appropriately - mishandled - is the shame of Bethel and the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses.
But like Jesus said, there is nothing that is carefully hidden that will not come to light. The wicked reasoning the Watchtower Society has used to keep these matters secret is that Jehovah's Witnesses should avoid at all costs bringing reproach on the name of Jehovah by making such matters known to authorities. But now with regular newspaper articles reporting on the "shame of Jehovah's Witnesses" it is the Watchtower Society itself that has brought reproach upon the name of Jehovah in a way that no one else possibly could. That truely is the shame of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Monday, June 21, 2010 at 2:43PM A child pornography convict is suing the state of New Hamshire for the right to attend meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses with a chaperon. Ironically, while the state has forbidden Perfetto from being anywhere near children under the age of 16, the Watchtower has a history of covering over the crimes of pedophiles, and even allows them to represent the Watchtower Society in their local communities by canvasing going door-to-door - as long as they are chaperoned! No joke. The state actually is more responsible than the Watchtower on this issue.
