Bethel Plasters on Another Coat of Whitewash

The October 15th, 2011, study edition of the Watchtower Magazine carries the leading article, entitled: Keep on the Watch - Why So Important?

As all of Jehovah’s Witnesses well know, it is vitally important to be ready for the coming of the day of Jehovah, or the day of the Lord as it is alternatively termed, even as on several occasions Jesus Christ exhorted his followers to stay on the watch and keep ready. But ready for what, exactly?

According to the brief article it is important to keep on the watch for the outbreak of the great tribulation, which Jehovah’s Witnesses have been led to expect will commence when the so-called militarized horns of the wild beast of Revelation suddenly turns upon and devours the harlot, Babylon the Great.

In non-prophetic terms the Watchtower’s prognosticators have created anticipation among Jehovah’s Witnesses for the United Nations to destroy organized religion around the globe as the next order of business scheduled on the prophetic calendar. Although not specifically stated in the October 15th article, it is certainly implied from what has been published previously.

But as presented in the previous article on this blog - Many Will Be Stumbled - Jesus’ exhortation to stay on the watch and keep ready was in connection with the coming of the master to inspect his slaves. That fact becomes plainly evident to anyone wishing to actually read and reason upon the Scriptures in their context.

    NO MORE DOUBLE-FACED DIVINATION

In the 13th chapter of Ezekiel Jehovah issued his judicial decision against the stupid prophets who are within the intimate group of God’s people, misleading them by means of double-faced divination and worthless visions, declared in the name of Jehovah. (See article: The Wall Must Fall

As an immediate prelude to the execution of God’s judgment against them Jehovah commands his prophet to say to them: “‘The days have drawn near, and the matter of every vision.’ For there will no more prove to be any valueless vision nor double-faced divination in the midst of the house of Israel.” - Ez 12:23-24

What is “double-faced divination”? Double-faced divination is what the Watchtower practices when they interpret the prophetic word of God in different ways in order to manipulate the minds of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The October 15th, 2011, article is typical. For example, in one of the concluding paragraphs the Watchtower cites Matthew 24:44, where Jesus stated: “On this account you too prove yourselves ready, because at an hour that you do not think to be it, the Son of man is coming.”

On what account ought Christians to prove themselves ready? Because, as the preceding verse explains, (Also Luke the 12th chapter) the Son of man is coming as a thief in the night. Then the very next verse following Jesus related the illustration of the faithful and unfaithful slaves. So, Jesus is coming a thief to judge the slaves of the household, over which he is the head.

As all of Jehovah’s Witnesses surely know, though, the Watchtower teaches that the master of the house has already come long ago and rewarded the faithful slave and punished the evil and sluggish slaves.

But, again, if that were true, why must Christians continue to stay on the watch for another coming of the Son of man? Surely, the Son of man is not coming as a thief in the night on multiple occasions, separated by decades in time, is he? There is nothing in the Scriptures to indicate that to be the case. That being so, if Christ came and judged his Father’s house in 1918 then that is the end of it.

But the Watchtower, although never addressing the obvious discrepancy of their teaching, nonetheless, continues to imply that the Son of man does indeed come as a thief in the night on more than one occasion. They sometimes interpret Matthew 24:44-45 to apply to the 1914-1919 era, and as in the article under review here, they also interpret the very same verse to apply to the future. This is double-faced divination.

It is divination because the Watchtower attributes their interpretation to the leading of God’s holy spirit. And the Watchtower’s priests boast that no one on earth can possibly hope to decipher such arcane mysteries who is not an accepted initiate within the hallowed halls of Bethel.

    WOE TO THE STUPID PROPHETS!

But clearly, the spirit of the truth would not lead the leaders of God’s people to teach such contradictory and misleading things. In truth, the prophets of Bethel have not seen anything remotely connected with the parousia of Jesus Christ. It is a  case of their “walking after their own spirit” - not Jehovah’s spirit. This is why Jehovah states in the 13th chapter of Ezekiel: “Woe to the stupid prophets, who are walking after their own spirit, when there is nothing that they have seen!”

Incredibly, the article under review even backhandedly acknowledges that the sign of Jesus’ presence is not all that prominent. In the 2nd paragraph the Society states:

If the sign in itself was to be so evident, why this extra admonition? [to keep on the watch] ... A Christian might recognize particulars of the sign but because of his immediate surroundings not feel directly affected. He might then reason that the “great tribulation,” the culmination of Jesus’ prophecy, was still quite distant and that it was therefore  not yet necessary to “keep on the watch.

In saying this, the Watchtower admits that the global sign of Christ’s supposed invisible presence may not be personally seen or experienced by most people. And they are also asserting that Christians are not to stay on the watch for the coming of the Son of man (contrary to Jesus’ clear statements), but rather (as already pointed out), for the outbreak of the tribulation.

Apparently, the writers at the Watchtower are aware of the work presented here on The Watchman’s Post and are intent on responding to and neutralizing it. For instance, articles like A Closer Look at 1914 raise questions as to the reasonableness and reliability of Society’s interpretations. The fact that not nearly all of the sign of Christ’s presence has even presented itself is a very difficult dilemma for the Society to patch over - though they seemingly never tire of trying.

To illustrate, the Watchtower used to teach that the tribulation began back during the First World War, but that it was cut short. They have since dropped that.

The Watchtower used to teach that the disgusting thing was already standing where it ought not to stand. They have since dropped that.

The Watchtower used to teach that the sheep and the goats were being separated now. They have since dropped that.

The Watchtower used to teach that men were faint with fear because of all the things coming upon the world since 1914. They have since dropped that.

The Watchtower used to teach that the generation of 1914 would still be alive when the end came. They have since dropped that.  Other aspects of prophecy are only in evidence because the Watchtower’s prophets say they are.

As an example, as the previously blog entry pointed out, the many who will be stumbled and betray one another and put to death by family and brothers are also those who are preaching the good news. Clearly, that aspect of the sign is not in evidence either.

Although in Matthew Jesus said ‘when you see all these things occurring know that he is near at the doors,’ the truth is all the things he foretold have not occurred. (Adroitly, the Watchtower article cites Luke 21:31, which does not use the expression “all these things.”)

And not only that, most people alive today have not personally, directly, experienced any of the things that Jesus foretold, such as war, food shortages, pestilences, and great earthquakes. (The Watchtower unreasoningly insists that non-communicable diseases such as heart disease and cancer are pestilences, comparable to the Spanish Influenza of 1918-19.)

The Watchtower also contradicts the word of Christ in another way. According to Revelation, when the Apocalypse commences peace will be taken away from the earth. Yet, the Watchtower article says that not all the earth will be affected simultaneously or to the same degree. Are we to assume that peace was momentarily taken away from some parts of the earth in 1914, but that it has in more recent decades been restored to most regions?

Aware of these discomforting truths, the Watchtower goes on to assert that most people will only “see” the sign via the news media. No joke - the article states:

Modern communication allows us to see all aspects of the sign, no matter what we personally experience in our locality.

The Watchtower is apparently suggesting that Jehovah’s Witnesses in non-affected areas - areas not experiencing war, food shortages, earthquakes and pestilences, which is most of the Americas, Europe and the better part of Asia and Africa (in short, most of the world) - ought to stay on the watch by keeping glued to their televisions, radios, or perhaps even the Internet, so that they may continually view the sign of Christ happening, even if it is somewhere far, far away, on the other side of the planet!

But, even at this the Watchtower is being deceptive, which is undoubtedly why Jehovah further states in Ezekiel’s denunciation: “Like foxes in the devastated places are what your own prophets have become, O Israel.”

Foxes are known for their cunning and resourcefulness. Like clever foxes, indeed, the Watchtower’s prophets slyly bend the truth to serve their interpretations. By the Watchtower’s own admission, the totality of the sign of Christ is not in evidence anywhere on earth at this present time - no matter how vigilant the watcher! No matter, as quoted above, the Watchtower lyingly states that the modern news media allows us to see “all aspects of the sign” - presumably, even aspects the Watchtower’s oracles elsewhere have rightly stated are not yet in evidence.

The seers of the Watchtower are indeed stupid. They insist on patching coat after coat of whitewash on their decrepit organizational wall - oblivious to the simple truth that the sign of Christ can easily display itself at a future time - coming upon them as unexpectedly as a thief in the night.

They are pitiably oblivious to the now onrushing collapse of the Anglo-American financial and political system and the inevitability of global war, food shortages due to hyperinflation, great earthquakes now spreading around the Pacific Ring of fire and elsewhere, and the growing likelihood of a virulent pestilence, such as a mutated Avian virus or perhaps even manmade biological weaponry, capable of generating a swiftly spreading pandemic on a scale exceeding anything heretofore experienced on this earth.

They are oblivious to the massive, potential stumbling block they have placed before all of Jehovah’s Witnesses - a stumbling block that itself is part of prophecy.

The irony is, the Watchtower’s intractable blindness and deceptive intent has made Jehovah’s judgment inevitable. The coming judgment will knock down their whitewashed wall. The days have indeed drawn near, and the matter of every vision to be fulfilled - beginning with the house of God.

Reason enough for all of Jehovah’s Witnesses to keep on the watch, indeed!

    Thank you Watchman,
Even at this time, when you yourself are expercienceing the grief, of your fathers death, you still continue with your commisssion.Even though they speak the same language as you, they are not willing to listen.Go tell them again and again.

I really do think there is something to this, I have watched thru the years as you have told them, over and over, in many different ways, and still their heart is hardened.Although it is hard to tell what is in the heart of a person, if you watch long enough you can see. I can see Robert, that your heart is true, so please continue, and may Jah bless you!

Good article Watchman, and very true.

Those who claim to be God's house, will certainly be inspected and found wanting and missing their outer garment and as it would appear, also asleep to what is really going on in our world today.

I just left a statement for Anon on his NASA blog saying that, PROJECT BLUEBEAM, could be the trump card used to rip apart peoples faith all across the planet.Mainly the watchtowers congregations. He says its a conspiracy with no validity. But when I read that the watchtower's leadership says" Modern communication allows us to see all aspects of the sign, no matter what we experience in our locality". that screams to me a football stadium size gap for deception. Seeing as the news media are the same fools that lead us on about the false flag attack of the twin towers, and countless other deceptions that I could go on about. Seems to me the MAN OF LAWLESSNESS is putting more weight on the white washed wall so that it falls quicker than a diabetics blood sugar level on a five day food strike!

    Watchman,

both the WT and you are much mistaken in expecting the great tribulation as the next development, because it cannot happen until the global apostasy from Christianity takes place first,

and the new spiritual consensus is successfully ushering the world into an age of unity and freedom of care, AFTER the global collapse of society has brought forth the planetary beast to come.

Additionally, your expectation that the eventual start of the great tribulation will constitute Christ's unexpected coming and subsequent presence to judge His followers,

is erroneous as well, and going against the plain Word of God, which shows that His thief-like coming - for which all believers ought to be keeping themselves in expectation -

is only going to happen AFTER the end of the great tribulation on Christianity, when all the tribes of the earth will be caught off guard at His sudden coming to inspect and reward His slaves, just as promised.

We have to keep in mind that His disciples asked Jesus not for a sign DURING His inspection, but "THE SIGN" BEFORE His coming on the clouds of Heaven to start His judgment with them!

But how could Jesus come UNEXPECTED to Christians AFTER the greatest tribulation ever to be directed against God's people has just finished?

How could they possibly miss - or misinterpret - an event as striking as that?

This is where people who do not understand the developments yet to happen, imagine that Jesus, somehow, has to be present PRIOR to His promised coming -

secretly judging and appearing to individuals in isolation from others - although Jesus expressly warned us against this very deception.

It is not for no purpose that Jesus demands discernment of the reader when it comes to identifying that, which will imitate and replace Christianity one day,

because those failing to do so - which is the majority of mankind, and professing Christians in particular -

will altogether miss out on being at the receiving end of the great tribulation, by joining in the beast worship, only to be totally surprised when later on they see Jesus coming in power and glory to judge mankind, starting with His disciples.

Paul, too, assures us that there are those who will make tribulation and those who receive it. (2Thes.1:6-10)

Obviously, the deluded, anti-Christ worshipping masses will not have discerned the disgusting nature of the desolation and great tribulation they are inflicting on the remains of Christianity,

and will therefore be surprised when the real Christ returns on the clouds of Heaven, to judge and glorify His chosen ones after the great tribulation is finished.

Keeping in expectation of the wrong developments is just as deadly as not keeping on the watch at all.

Such is the problem with the WT-anointed, and unless you can get out of their spell, you cannot expect to escape sharing in their fate.

    Proxy, thank you,
I will try hard to look into your words, as I know the WTBTS spell is almost impossible to get out from under a person.I think Robert is one that has kept true doctrine while rejecting the falsehoods, although he can be coarse at times, that I think is just his nature. There are many of us who just want Almightys truth, that after all is why we were persuaded to become JWs. Now we see that there is no organization on earth that really is BACKED by Jehovah,so myself, and I am sure MANY are trying to do as HE would have us do!

    July 19, 2011 | Unregistered Commentermrpeaceable

Let me say this, I said watchman was coarse, OK, He is at times, but lets not let that keep us from what YHWH wants, what true prophet has not been this way? Sometimes words written are alot harder to understand than those spoken. I have watched while different trolls, and sincere people have went on and on, and I am thinking to myself wow watchman is letting this go on, but I see he lets it go on enough untill the question has reasonably been answered! I think to myself, man he really let that go a long time, but then I see he lets the question be answered!

Most Bible Prophesy is difficult to unravel, and it seems to reveal itself upon the signs which takes place just prior to it's correct understanding, this would make sense from what Daniel says, "Go Daniel make secret the words and sealed up the book until the time of the end"
I often wonder whether the prophesy in 2 Thessalonians will have a two fold fulfilment, one for those who call themselves the house of Jehovah who come from the gentiles and for those who are Hebrew/ Christian Jews who still worship Yahweh in Jerusalem.. just my thought..

2 Thessalonians 2:4 can not just apply to the organisation of Jehovah Witnesses, especially when we read...HE IS SET IN OPPOSITION AND LIFTS HIMSELF UP OVER EVERYONE WHO IS CALLED GOD OR AN OBJECT OF REVERENCE, SO THAT THAT HE SITS DOWN IN THE TEMPLE OF THE GOD, PUBLICLY SHOWING HIMSELF TO BE A GOD.

    1. HE IS SET IN OPPOSITION AND LIFTS HIMSELF UP OVER EVERYONE WHO IS CALLED GOD OR AN OBJECT OF REVERENCE..This man of lawlessness will be publicly known throughout the earth and will set himself up over every other deity known as God or an object of reverence , be it Jehovah, Jesus, Krishna or Buddha.

    2. SO THAT THAT HE SITS DOWN IN THE TEMPLE OF THE GOD, PUBLICLY SHOWING HIMSELF TO BE A GOD. There can only be one true God known as "the" God and that's Yahweh/Jehovah, he may very well be spiritually sitting within the organisation, but publicly showing yourself to be "a God" does not mean he is pretending to be Yahweh/Jehovah, but an entity/deity which is supposedly higher replacing the supreme God and any other God which had been previously venerated/worshipped.
For this to be observed by all the nations, it would have to be in the location of where the temple first stood Jerusalem. I personally believe this will be the greatest apostasy ever witnessed. Will this man of lawlessness be a leader possessed of satan himself? Publicly showing himself to be a God is letting the world acknowledge him as such, we also have to remember that the Jews are also still waiting for their messiah and the existing synagog of satan as we speak are preparing for his arrival.
We are living in very fearful yet awe inspiring times, I thank Robert King for his excellent site and podcasts, and the inspiration he has given so many over the years.

As long as you, "e-watchman", continue to associate with the world, in the form of your WORLDLY INSIGHTS, you're NO BETTER than the Watchtower, who associates with the world with their ungodly conduct.

It's why I had no problem refering to you as "Watchtower Jr."

I hope for your sake that you WAKE UP! Because satan doesn't care once he gets you past the "TOO LATE" line.

    Proxy,

Do you think the answer Jesus gave to his Apostles regarding the sign and conclusion of sysytem of things are merely the "pangs of distress" which then leads to a tribulation on his followers that he had mentioned later? This seems to be what you are implying.

The only problem I see with your interpretation is that after describing the events to take place he goes on to say, "Immediately after the tribulation of those days.....".

So even though your intrepretation may seem reasonable to me, it might have holes. Maybe you could spell it out in a more specific way so that it resembles what Jesus(or Daniel) may have had in mind regarding the sequence of events.

    Guest,

in Matthew 24, Jesus starts of by warning His disciples against being mislead by 'jumping the gun' in response to developments that seem to be heralding His coming, and then gives a long list of potential signs that have no special meaning in relation thereto. (v.4-6)

He then goes on to itemize three sequential judgment events, which are to befall three distinct groups of people:

    1) verses 9 to 14, is a tribulation exclusively upon His brothers, likely in the early stages of the global rulership, as most Christians will join in worshipping the beast, and His brothers speak out against this idolatry and are persecuted as a result.

    2) verses 15 to 28, is the great tribulation upon fundamentalist Christians, who although rejecting the mark of the beast, do not repent of their apostate beliefs and spiritistic practices.

Although its aim is to wipe out Christianity, Christ's brothers and other faithful Christians will escape largely unharmed if they flee from God's nominal people and their organizations in time. (Lu.21:23,36)

This great tribulation is God's judgment against apostate Christianity, and, hence, is not directed against the faithful, although they will also be negatively impacted by their fleeing into exile.

    3) verses 29 to 31 introduce the conclusion of the system of things ruled by the global beast, and will mean God's judgment against the whole world of devil worshippers at the hands of Christ and His glorified Brothers.

During this conclusion of the system of things, nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, as the beginning of pangs of distress, referred to by Christ in verses 7 and 8, when He rides forth against the nations at the battle of Armageddon.

All three judgments will be accomplished during the 70th week of 7 years duration, according to Daniel 9.

Although Jesus only gave one sign [v.30] in response to the question about the conclusion of the beast worshipping system of things,

alert Christians will also be able to discern when the great tribulation starts, by recognizing the replacement of Christianity with the worship of the disgusting thing, (v.15)

and prior to this, will have noted the worldwide persecution on account of Christ's Name. (v.9)

This is the understanding I have been given so far, it may serve to protect against being taken in by pre-mature developments.

I noticed too, that verse 22 in Matthew says, "For then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world beginning until now..." Much later after the beginning of "pangs of distress", false prophets etc...

I think the most important thing though, as you said, not to allow ourselves to "jump the gun" and get all excited as these things start to occurr, but remain alert. Great points.

If the 'gt tribulation' is 1260 days during the rule of the 'wild beast' against 'christianity' (42months) it is for the duration that the 'two witnesses' will speak out against this great apostasy, and therefore will be targeted by the anti-christ global govt, affecting the Body of Christ, wherever they live on this planet.
That is why in Revelation 11:5,6 explains clearly that NOTHING will prevent them from their assignment. We are 'looking at' the transfiguration, where the two witnesses, Elijah & Moses, indicate the type of
work that will be accomplished.. by the "4 angels released" the Body of Christ totally SEALED & prepared
to die for Christ, after all they're "baptised into His death" already, since being called & chosen finally tested..

The time period we are currently in would have to involve the "Harvestime" the separation of the weeds
from the wheat in preparation for the fulfillment of prophecy regarding the Gt tribulation....there are many
anointed with websites as we speak, and they have different interpretations regarding the Gt.trib.
have you visited "Heart 4 GOD", for one...do you have any others, apart from Isaiah 30:8 and Pearl Doxseys ??

    Elena,

the wheat and the weeds are growing side by side in this WORLD; but since the weeds will apostatize from their Christian profession to become prominent in the man of lawlessness, who is to replace Christianity,

it follows that they will be at the forefront of causing tribulation to those not giving up their profession of Christ in exchange for a prominent position in the incoming 'kingdom of God,' which the whole world will follow with admiration.

But since this lawlessness, and the weeds who are the cause of it, only get dealt with - and removed from this world - at the coming of Christ on the clouds of Heaven,

the harvesting is really only taking place then, at the glorification and rapture of the chosen ones, when they will join Christ to burn up the weeds during the battle of Armageddon.

The great tribulation is 'merely' the worst rebellion against God ever to occur - greater even than the uprising against New Jerusalem at the end of the thousand years will be!

The great tribulation is proof that, although Satan can successfully unite and rule the world in a prosperous NWO, he cannot guarantee the safety of those not worshipping him.

His kingdom of 'tolerance' and 'inclusion' is, in fact, full of hatred against those loving truth and righteousness.

Lets talk more about the "Harvestime" give up some scriptures pertaining to the time frame, and the before & after the Gt Tribulation please, according to whatever insight you've 'been given' by spirit, as Pearl says. says.
The weeds will remain for a time, reserved to be burned, they are not destroyed at the Harvest, but allowed to remain for a later time....the 'wheat' will have work to do, during the Gt Tribulation, eh no..?
why would the separation take place just prior to the "parousia", when the 2 witnesses will have finished
their 1260 days of their "Elijah/Moses" assignment..., eh no?

    Elena,

the harvest is a conclusion of a system of things.

Jesus told us that He would be with us in Spirit - but absent in person - from the time of His ascension "UNTIL the conclusion of the system of things,"

at which point we shall be caught up to Him in the clouds to be in His presence. (Mat.13:39; 28:20)

Notice, Jesus did not say until some time INTO the conclusion, as if the conclusion were to commence prior to His coming, but UNTIL, that is, only to its beginning.

We have to remember that although the great tribulation gets cut short, Armageddon will have to run its full course, which may take some time.

The same timeline is again confirmed in the Olivet discourse.

Here the disciples asked for THE SIGN of the conclusion of the system of things, which, according to Jesus, is to occur immediately AFTER the end of the great tribulation. (Mat.24:3,29,30)

Hence, the harvest, as the conclusion of the system of things, starts with Christ's coming on the clouds of Heaven, when He sends forth His angels to remove all weeds from this world - His kingdom, which also commences its rule at that point in time.

Harvest means cutting of plants, not REPLANTING them in a different corner of the field, as the WT would have it!

The reapers are angels, not the pre-glorified Body of Christ.

Harvest at no time implies religious conversion, because weeds cannot change into wheat.

The chosen ones are not there to convert or separate anyone, but to announce God's judgment against the New World Kingdom.
